Orton's been caught out for steroids, pot, and being an immature prick.

I was thinking something more along the lines of Crisp for Heilman, if they want to go that route. I guess WFAN is now saying that it's a rumor, and not the done deal they indicated earlier. Crisp for Heilman would make a lot more sense. Theo's not going to trade Crisp for another guy who plays his position, only worse. I read someone on SOSH saying that if this was the deal to get rid of Crisp, he would've rather had Ellsbury be dealt to Minnesota to get Santana.

That can't be right. The Mets would have to be giving up someone besides Pagan. Crisp has more value than your garden-variety backup outfielder.

Well, so much for Syracuse. They needed a win and got crushed by Villanova instead.

And, as if my expectations for this season couldn't get any lower, the Jays lose Casey Janssen for the season with a torn labrum: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2008/n...tory?id=3289372

I wouldn't be surprised if Illinois State is either the last team in or the first team out. Good news for bubble teams as Butler looks to finally be handling Cleveland State.

It's a great book. I loved the chapters where he caddies for Jack Nicklaus and high-stakes gambler Dewey Tomko.

Toronto signed Armando Benitez's rotting corpse to a minor-league deal today.

I was looking forward to watching this one, until I found out it would cost me 11 bucks (plus tax). No thanks.

It's looking a lot like Thursday's Sens/Habs game will be another battle for first. They both have 3-0 leads right now.

Damn, I was hoping to snag Reyes with my last pick.

AWESOME. This wins best picture.

Writers like Paul Daugherty though? Dusty Baker gets criticism not only because he disagrees with the general stat community, but because his theories generally collide with what other managers are doing in this era. Washington's Manny Acta and Kansas City's Trey Hillman have recently espoused the merits of OBP in interviews. As far as Joe Morgan, he says some silly things because he gets information second hand. He never managed and as a player, he did as much to contribute to winning teams as any player in history. I would point out that most of the criticism of Adam Dunn comes from sportswriters and a certain tenured radio broadcaster. The front office themselves have never seen fit to trade Dunn. Watching what Baker actually does in Cincinnati will be very interesting. I don't have any kind of problem with not liking Dusty Baker as a manager, or Joe Morgan as an announcer. It's just when people puff out their chest and pretend they know more about baseball than these guys. Does that make any sense? Like, I hate Isiah Thomas, but the guy knows more about basketball than I do. I think that sort of makes sense. I don't think it's a matter of people thinking they know more than them. It's more about being frustrated that these guys are so far behind the times, and are seemingly proud of being so far behind the times. I get mad whenever Dusty spouts off his nonsense, because there are people who listen to him and actually buy into what he says. Adam Dunn probably doesn't give a shit what Dusty says, because he's been in the league long enough, but Joey Votto is in a position where he can have his career changed for the worse because Dusty thinks his way is the be all and end all of baseball, and that's not right.

I don't get this channel here, but this sounds like a really interesting show. Are there torrents available anywhere?

Questions to be answered by the next person to post in the thread

Definitely not. If they'd enact and enforce reasonable restrictions on goalie equipment, scoring would probably go up. No need for a gimmick like enlarging the nets. -
They were the road team in the first outdoor game. I think they'd make a terrific opponent for anyone in any city. They'd be the exception to the league's unspoken policy of ignoring (in the U.S.) the fact that there are Canadian teams in the league.

Crap, I'm up right after Bored and I have no idea who to take.

Rock Vs. HHH or HBK Vs. Hart, which Ironman match you think is better?
CanadianChris replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in General Wrestling
I've always liked Rock/HHH better. It was interesting from start to finish, whereas you could just skip the first half of Bret/HBK. There were a lot of fun little wrinkles in the match, too, like the spot where HHH cracks Rock with a chair and gets DQed, but gets the fall right back when he just pins Rock while he's still knocked out from the chair shot. Plus, the commentating was better with JR and King instead of Vince and King. -
PC Financial, which is convenient for me because I already bank with them. Mutual funds are fine to hold in an RRSP as long as you have a very long time frame, which you do.

Looks like the board screwed me up by not being on DST yet. Anyway, Vern sent me his next pick... Wilson Betemit, 1B/3B/SS

I used to work right near there, at Humber College. Generally decent, although some areas are a bit dodgy.

Prediction: With Dusty as his manager, Cueto pitches 922 1/3 innings over the next three seasons and is out of baseball by the time he's 27.

Worse, he went to St. Louis. As if Seattle didn't have enough trouble beating the Rams already.
