I was hoping for an election so things at work would calm down. All big projects are halted following an election call.

The only good promotions I remember are all from McDonald's... Monopoly, ldo. The last Monopoly game before they changed it, I went often enough to get every single non-winning piece on the board. The Mario 3 toys were great. I was working at McD's at the time, and I managed to get them all. I still have the spring-loaded Mario toy somewhere. The hockey cards were the most insane promotion we ever had. People were falling all over themselves trying to get them all the first year it was held.

La Russa certainly sets a good example.

I should've kept Okajima. He would've been worth losing an 18th rounder.

I had heard this rumour yesterday around noon. The Sens' performance last night sealed it. They needed a shakeup, regardless of whether Paddock actually deserved it (he didn't) or whether it will help (it might).

89? Wow. That's a bit generous, but it's still enough to get me to throw some money on the over for the Rays now for sure.

A 21" CRT? Is there room for anything else on the desk?
-
Yeah, I noticed that somewhere else. No one has him.

Garon is another platoon guy (although he's playing better than Roloson), so that would concern me a little as well. I do agree that Selanne could be a big help, because he's fresh and should sustain this run for another couple of weeks, anyway. If you have to give up one goalie, I think it should be Ward, because Price will win more.

They don't have to be. Those Tigers lost 119 games. I have no idea why, besides homerism, you're so high on the Orioles. They have one of the bottom three Opening Day rosters in baseball (probably the worst, but I'm being generous), and they play in the toughest division in the majors. Tell me how this team isn't losing a hundred games.

O/U 73 wins for Tampa Bay? Over seems like a complete lock.

I'd pass on both deals. The key is that no one knows how much playing time Fleury is going to get down the stretch. Right now, Conklin is playing way over his head, and I don't see Fleury getting in more than half his team's remaining games, if that many. All that to say that you really can't afford to give up a goalie off your roster.

My wife's cousin owns a small computer shop here in town, so we got it through him. I play poker online, so a big screen with a high resolution is a must for playing multiple tables. Even so, it's not as big a screen as would be ideal -- I had a 20" LCD with a 1600x1200 res for my old desktop -- but it's good enough.

Bastid.

Yeah, Windham had his shoulders counted down while in the figure four to give Flair his last NWA World title at Beach Blast 93.

I just wanted to brag about my new laptop. For $875, I got a Toshiba Satellite P200D, with a 17.1" widescreen, 1.8 GHz dual-core processor, 2 GB RAM and 160 GB hard drive, DVD burner, 6 USB ports, and a whole bunch of other shit. It is outstanding.

John Cena calls out the The Rock for leaving wrestling
CanadianChris replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
You have to see that Rock is in a no-win situation, though. If he doesn't come back, he's seen as ungrateful. If he comes back and it's publicized, he's stigmatized because public opinion of wrestling is probably close to an all-time low. Best thing for him and his career is to stay away. He made it out, good for him. -
Last year, we were more like, "Thank God he's not Gerber!" to realize he's fucking nuts.
-
I figure I'm best qualified to do it. They don't have a Cup-calibre goalie. Fleury is too fragile mentally to take them deep in the playoffs, and there's no one else on the roster good enough to step up in the playoffs. Come on, Ty Conklin? Really?

Put the victory parade in Tampa on hold. Scott Kazmir is scheduled to have an MRI after experiencing "discomfort" in his elbow: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2008/n...tory?id=3265581

Pittsburgh needs a goaltender, and will greatly wish they had gotten one come this spring. Hossa is not going to bring them the Stanley Cup.

Leafs send the Hal "The Human Pylon" Gill to Pittsburgh for two picks.

Damn, TSN's website appears to be down. That's no good.

Canucks trade Matt Cooke to Washington for Matt Pettinger. Enough of these piddly little deals, I want another blockbuster.
