That's right, it's time for the final two. Semi-Final Results: Reservoir Dogs (6) The Godfather (14) Citizen Kane (9) The Godfather Part II (11) The final of doom: The Godfather The Godfather: Part II Interestingly this final is the same as the actor's final. But will the result be the same. It is up to you. Vote!

    Choken One..........banned?

I don't agree with Choken One's banning. I didn't think he was too bad, mildly irritating at most. However, the rules state that banning is up to the mod's discretion. I disagree with their reasons for banning him as I believe this place is not made any better with him gone (nor is it any worse for that matter). But what's done is done. I've moved on from it. The fact that twelve hours later some of you are still kicking up a stink about this is quite pathetic. He even had said he didn't enjoy this place all that much lately. He's been here a while, now he's gone. That's the way internet forums are. Move on, it's not like they took him round the back and shot him (note: if this is the case and he has been shot I hereby take back all of the above message and scold the moderators here provocatively/seductively).

What are you listening to right now?

The Trammps - Disco Inferno Best disco song ever. No question.
  6. I haven't looked into either one of those two names and I'm not sure if anyone else has on the staff. If we do find out that they're PBP's then you'll know as well. Um okay. Does this happen to all new people or something? It's only because a lot of people think you're a PBP. I honestly don't know if you are, nor do I care particularly, as it doesn't affect me on this board if you are or not. However, people constantly going "He's a banned poster!" after every post of yours does irk me. If you haven't been banned from here a check of your IP will show as much and you will be free to post here without the incessant speculation. Okay, I lied, people will still stubbornly believe that you were once banned here, but it will stop some of it. I hope.
  7. So if slacklet was discovered to be Johnson after an IP check, does that mean Jewof2001 and Birds In The Hotel are not PBPs after all?

    60's CD I just made......

With The Kinks, just look for The Kink Kronikles as a good starting guide. It's a hits package of sorts when they were trying to re-establish themselves in the early 70s. But along with hit singles it has some B-Sides and album tracks. Probably one of the best Compilation Albums out there. Very thorough. That's what I'd recommend to start at, anyway.

    Choken One..........banned?

There's three to four threads all running about the exact same topic or on some similar note. Can one or two of these be closed? Maybe just leave this and WWE Stupidity open? The HD topic is worthless and just an extension of this.

    Marney: RIP

I really agree with this. I have thought for a while now that he was the worst poster here, and the only reason he has banned is due to: a) insufficient amount of posts. He doesn't post enough to be truly offensive to the majority of people on here b) comic value. The idiocy of what he writes here can, admittedly, be amusing. Honestly I would prefer for cynicalprofit to be gone than Choken One. His member title is pretty accurate. The cancer of TSM.

    Rudo

Since when is Rudo a supermod???
  12. Honestly I never thought Choken One was too bad. At the very least he never made a post as bad as the above one. I think he was fine until a year or so ago when he had the "Poster Personality Crisis" when he suddenly felt he didn't have one and thus started averaging at 1000 posts per day. Even then, I didn't think he was too terrible, just too frequent. I think he'd since toned it down a bit though. I don't go to the Sports forums, and I know that's where some people had problems with him. I did find him irritating in Music where he would endlessly talk about Life Of Agony and how they are the musical embodiment of Jesus. Otherwise I never thought he was too bad. But he's banned now, so raving on about it as such is pointless.
  13. I pretty much agree about this. I was rather disappointed with this. I felt it started off well enough, but I agree that as time went on my tolerance for it lessened. I'd still say it's quite good, but that ending nearly destroys anything else the film had going for it. Anyway, I saw Some Like It Hot. I loved it, personally. Though I know how terrible Marilyn apparentally was working on the film, I thought she shone in it. And Jack Lemmon was awesome. My only problem was I couldn't figure out why there was a ukelele player in a jazz band. Otherwise I think it was pretty near faultless. And The Terminator. I know I'm in the minority, but it's better than the sequel. Arnie worked better for me as a villain. And the scenes in the police station are awesome. There are several awesome scenes. And I feel it has a stronger story than the second one, which is more a heap of action scenes strung together. While that worked for the film, I feel the original's approach was more preferable to me. Plus it doesn't have the stupid little kid. Plus it has Lance Hendriksen.

Best Actor of All Time Tournament

I think this is the only time I've ever agreed with the outcome of any tournament or whatever at this here forum, barring in the Music Forum when The Beatles won Best Artist. About bloody time.

    Best Acoustic Songs

Rolling Stones - Wild Horses. I looooove that song. I second Nirvana - About A Girl. That is all for the moment. And I think I'm the only person in the history of man who does not like Tears In Heaven.

    Exodus...

Until I read the rest of that sentence, I thought that was far and away the worst insult I had ever heard.

    60's CD I just made......

My Dylan on the radio: Like A Rolling Stone, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Lay Lady Lay, Just Like A Woman. That's what Dylan they play in other countries. I, too, would choose God Only Knows above all other Beach Boys songs, but that's just personal taste.
  20. As we were nearing the conclusion of this tournament by the time Man of 1004 Modes was banned, I figured we may as well finish it and see what gets to be runner up to The Godfather. Quarter Final Results: Fight Club (9) Reservoir Dogs (15) Scarface (5) The Godfather (19) Taxi Driver (11) Citizen Kane (13) The Shawshank Redemption (8) The Godfather Part II (16) So, the final four brackets are as follows: Reservoir Dogs The Godfather Citizen Kane The Godfather Part II Go vote so this bloody thing can get some closure!
  21. I saw Twelve Monkeys and Brazil. I really liked them both, though I'd say Brazil that bit more. I'm not sure what I'd give them out of ten to be honest, probably both a nine, but I think they're hard to place on a scale. My one fault with Brazil is the woman who played Jill. She can't act. That was terrible casting. I've heard that Madonna was considered for playing the part, and I do believe she would have done better. That's how terrible I thought she was. The one problem I had with both films (but moreso with Twelve Monkeys than Brazil) is I could predict the ending from an early stage. In Twelve Monkeys, by about the time *SPOILERS*Bruce Willis sees Brad Pitt in his flashback did I figure out this was a red herring and that Bruce Willis was seeing himself having died. *END SPOILERS* With Brazil *SPOILERS*the moment Michael Palin was shot I knew that this was the delusion of Johnathon Pryce. *END SPOILERS* I did really enjoy both movies (and their complexities), but for all the red herrings in them I found their endings a tad predictable. Terry Gilliam's three directorial best: Monty Python And The Holy Grail (1975) Brazil (1985) Twelve Monkeys (1995) So does that mean his film out next year (The Brothers Grimm, I think it is called) will join this list?

    60's CD I just made......

Off topic, but that's the worst spelling I've ever seen. Bar none.

    60's CD I just made......

The Beatles: 8 Days a Week Bob Dylan: Like a Rolling Stone Rolling Stones: Get Off my Cloud Beach Boys: Wouldn't it be Nice Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze Beach Boys: Good Vibrations Jimi Hendrix: All Along the Watchtower David Bowie: Space Oddity Beatles: Come Together I've only ever heard those songs actually played by my local radio station, but it's pretty terrible. Honestly I don't think it's too bad. Yes there are songs that are still played and overplayed by the radio today, but they are a fairly good indication of some of the most popular songs from that decade. If I were to create my own 60s CD it would look nothing like it, but I'm not going to fault any of the song choices, except Eight Days A Week which, while fun, doesn't stand out from the pack for me of early Beatles stuff. But otherwise it's not too bad a collection. Also, I'd put In The Year 2525 in any compilation CD it is applicable for, but I'm a drongo like that.
