Whoever said I can eat Vaseline is a fucking liar.

Intriguing. -
While I have no problem with that, it is a straight to video release and not many people would have seen it. Are you sure you want to nominate it, and why hasn't anybody nominated Sound Of Music/Wizard Of Oz yet?
-
Well, I'm just going by Choken One's description. If it's rapping the way someone sings in a musical, just a spontaneous way of expressing themselves, then it's counted.
-
I'll count it, though it pains me to do it. El Satanico, are you nominating Dancer In The Dark, or just enjoying it?
-
Yes, but what he was saying is The Beach Boys aren't taken seriously. Like what Choken says. Most people I know don't take The Supremes seriously, but maybe I mainly know idiots.
-
I wouldn't count it personally. Or Spinal Tap (thought it pains me to say it). I'll be willing to let Blues Brothers go though.
-
And I'm just wondering, has the musical version of Phantom Of The Opera been released on film yet? I know there's one coming up. *awaits nomination for Glitter*
-
I think there are some people here who appreciate musicals. Surely? Who could hate Wizard Of Oz or Grease or Cabaret etc. And no, Buffy Musical isn't counted, unless nobody actually nominates anything else.
-
They're under-rated. That's what he said, wasn't it? If The Beach Boys are under-rated, then The Supremes definitely are.
-
Anybody who says the Rolling Stones are the greatest band ever should listen to what they did after 1971. Your brother sounds silly, as do you, because The Beatles don't suck. You're right about The Beach Boys though, they are supremely under-rated as a 60s group. It's just because there are so many brilliant 60s acts that people are bound to forget about the brilliance of some of them. The Supremes, for example.
-
I just noticed Elton John and Cliff Richard were both missing from your list. Why is that, as they are both held in pretty high regard as British acts? And, more importantly, where are the Pet Shop Boys?
-
I think it's depressing that someone can think that they are in a position where their only way of getting out is through their own death. So yes, I empathise with him, I certainly don't hate him.
-
Going by what captured their general sound, I guess I would choose Hymn To Her. As for Animals song, I'd pick House Of The Rising Sun, I think in terms of influentiality it would be #1.
-
I personally would go with I'll Stand By You or Hymn To Her. But now you say a non-hit, and that makes it all the more difficult. I think their hits were their better songs.
-
What Pretenders song? Keep The Faces.

The Stand is a pretty good book. You like it thus far, Plunderin? I also must add my love for Abobo. The Mickey Mouse ears added onto the head was the funniest image ever in the time I've been here. Why was scratches head and leaves banned? And this flamewar is really boring. That is all.

I have to agree with Paragon of Virtue. As fun as rampant killing may sound, it has never really been my cup of tea.
-
Madness - It Must Be Love. I reckon that is their best song, but Our House as mentioned above is quite good. The Animals have lots that you can pick. House Of The Rising Sun is incredibly important for music history, though I don't like it all that much. The rest I either don't care or people have given you many suggestions already. And allow me to reccommend Cliff Richard and John Lennon's solo career, if you don't have them already.

Haraga, I am sorry to say Prince no longer performs 1999, as he says that it is no longer relevant. He doesn't do Little Red Corvette either, for some annoying reason.
-
While I don't think Music is a bad album, I just don't think it compares with her 80s/early 90s stuff. It's like John Lennon, Double Fantasy was a good album (well, his half of it anyway), just not as good as his earlier albums.
-
I don't own a gun as they are much more difficult to get in this country than in the US. By utter coincidence the amount of shootings that take place here are far lesser than the amount in the US.
-
I saw Prince recently, and when he did Purple Rain as his encore it was unbloodybelievable. Also, pretty much everything I saw Bruce Springsteen do in concert was awesome.
-
Oh yeah, Jackson Browne is all right. My fave Seger is We've Got Tonight, personally. Though Kenny Rogers, Sheena Easton, Ronan Keating and Lulu did try their best to ruin it.
-
Prince, Bob Seger and George Harrison. The other three make it seem like anyone can get in there. *awaits the induction of Tiffany and Martika*

I'm pretty sure Neil Diamond wrote Daydream Believer. It is my personal favourite Monkees song too.
