TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

So, I got that Best of the X Division DVD in the mail today, and I decided to stay home in part just so I could watch the damn thing. It should be 4 hours of awesomeness.

*SPOILER* No Way Out Main Event Revealed

Yeah, but he's never officially lost by submission. I always wanted to see him and Benoit have a great match where Takes taps out to the crossface. It'll never happen, of course.

Czech, I'm tired of your fucking acid trip

LOL. This would be better if I were not sober.

    Military Service

I've been contacted by pretty much every branch of the military since graduating high school in 2002. I never wanted to serve, save for the fall of 2004 when I was at a crossroads and considered going into the Army after a recruiter stopped me on the street one day. I'm not the slightest bit patriotic, nor am I too fond of being yelled at a lot, so I never gave it serious consideration aside from that time. Recently, I have begun to consider my options once again. I'm not very well off financially, and the main reason I am considering this as a possibility is to get money for college. I am incredibly intelligent and gifted academically (although I sometimes lack common sense) and I desperately want to attend college or university. I know I can succeed if given an opportunity. The Navy seems to be the branch that would be best for me, for a variety of reasons. At first, I thought about serving full time, since I love to travel. I talked to my stepdad about it after the fact. He served for 4 years. He said he had a lot of fun and it was constant partying. I'm sure he was exaggerating a bit, but he says he had a good time. Then again, he is also an uptight asshole who I have nothing in common with. I decided that, if I am to join, the Reserves would be best for me. I'd go through basic, maybe tech school, and then be able to live my life however I choose for the most part, which is what I really want. The problem is, I keep changing my mind. One minute, I'm gung-ho about enlisting... The next, I think it would be suicide. I honestly don't know what I want to do. A recruiter came by today (I don't know why he didn't just call me) and set up an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. I hope to learn more then, but I know firsthand that recruiters can and often do lie and sugarcoat things in order to get people to join. How many of you have been in the military and/or the reserves, and would like to share information and stories to better prepare me to make the right decision?

    Matt Youngin'

Slayer vs. Matt Young, TSM Quiz Bowl. I'll thumb through The New York Times Guide To Essential Knowledge, rattle off shit I know offhand, and we'll see who has book smarts. Language, math, history, psychology, geography, economics, music, anything else. How about it. High school anecdote: I was high as hell in a computer lab one day, and the school's quiz bowl team was practicing in there. I decided to play along, and rattled off almost every answer before them. I was an average student, but I'm excellent at Jeopardy. I'm great at Jeopardy. When I went to Canada a few years ago, I got very stoned and almost got a perfect score on NES Jeopardy, which was made not too long after I was born.

No, I tried and didn't enjoy it. Book smarts? That's very unlikely, except in the math area, and how would you even know anyway? Real world smarts? Yeah, you can have this.

They just announced on PTI a few minutes ago that Antonio Davis was suspended for 5 games.

Which of the following is most annoying?

What about Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Revolver,The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby,, the untitled fourth Led Zeppelin album, Houses of the Holy? I own all of those. I'm not saying that Green Day is more technically skilled than a lotof other musicians, but I've always been a huge fan of theirs (their pre-Dookie work is probably my favorite aside from AI, although I didn't discover them til after Dookie hit) and they're simply my favorites. My previous favorite album was Morrison Hotel.

    hey leena

John Cena fan fiction? As for Leena... Yes, she's attractive. And? Why she has a rep for being insane, I don't know. She has her moments where she comes across as not the most pleasant individual to deal with, but for the most part she seems to be just fine, both here and when I initially was "introduced" to her (for lack of a better term) at CAG.

    Heidenreich gone

I was wondering why the Power 25 mentioned Animal going solo. I haven't kept up with Velocity these past few weeks as I usually do, so I had no idea what Animal was doing.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

From WWE.com: Drug Policy Update January 17, 2006 WWE has been working diligently to complete its new wellness program for talent, which includes an aggressive drug and steroid testing program and heightened cardiovascular monitoring. The company believes it has identified a third-party that will be able to implement the program, which will be done independently of WWE, and is going through final phases of its due diligence. WWE believes the program will be ready to implement before the end of the first quarter of 2006.

Hey it looks like you can bid on Edge's Spinner Belt. But it's a replica with Cena's name on the face plate.

New on tonight's taping and the next PPV.

Okay, why the fuck are they paying Sting $500,000 a year if he's not even appearing at the PPVs? Have Sting distract Jarrett or fend off his goons when they try to do a run in, give Christian the belt, and run Sting vs. Jarrett at the March PPV. Simple and effective.

    Military Service

Thanks for the encouragement, LOL. Like I said, I am academically gifted, but I realize I often lack common sense and say/do stupid things. Oh well. As for the scholarship, I simply didn't live up to my potential. I slacked off at times to entertain myself with other interests, and I had few extracurricular activities to put on my applications. EDIT: I never took the actual ASVAB test when I was talking to theArmy recruiters, but I did take the practice test, and according to that recruiter, not only did I complete it more quickly than anyone else he had given it to, but I also got the highest score he had ever seen. That would open up many more opportunities if I were to enlist, which is another factor that must be taken into consideration.

I don't think I would adjust well, either, which is why I'm undecided.

    Sonic Mega Collection PLUS!

I agree with you on that, Kaiba, at least as far as the 2D games are concerned. I really like Sonic Adventure. As for me.. I've never been a huge Sonic fan. I liked 2 and 3 as a kid, but Mario games smoke Sonic titles in every way. There's just very little depth. The games haven't held up well, either. They're even less fun now. That being said, the Sonic games are still decent. I bought SMC+ for Xbox back in October but I haven't even played all the way through Sonic 1. It's worth having if you're a Sonic fan, and is a great value.

    Ric Flair Interview

This didn't go into as much detail as I had hoped, but it's worth a read: http://www.newsobserver.com/105/story/389067.html Published: Jan 16, 2006 12:30 AM Modified: Jan 16, 2006 12:56 AM Flair on the Edge Matt Ehlers, Staff Writer He has been at it, he's still at it, and Ric Flair has no plans to stop wrestling anytime soon. Flair is the WWE Intercontinental Champion, and the proud grandpa is on the road about 200 nights a year. Recently he has been feuding with Edge, the WWE Champion. Last week during an episode of "WWE RAW," Flair helped break up what was promoted as a "live sex" celebration. The storyline called for Edge and female wrestler Lita to have sex in a bed set up inside the ring. But in time-honored wrestling tradition, Flair appeared from backstage and helped interrupt the proceedings. He has received a fair amount of attention outside the ring as well. Flair was charged in November in a road rage incident, after a motorist accused him of grabbing him by the neck and kicking the door of his car. Flair denies the charges. "I wouldn't in Charlotte, North Carolina -- or anywhere else -- grab anybody because I'm me. What am I going to gain by grabbing somebody?" he said, disappointed in the amount of media coverage the incident received. "It just tells me how big a star I am in Charlotte and how starved they are for excitement." Flair and "WWE RAW" will appear tonight in Raleigh for a show that will be broadcast live on USA Network. He spoke from his car in Charlotte, where he lives. Q - What's up with you and Edge? A - I don't have much to tell you. He beat my brains out two days in a row. [Laughs.] I don't have much to say. I haven't been able to establish much offense in our two encounters so I'm kind of under the weather right now. He hit me with a chair Monday night. Q - This was a big night, last Monday, with the "live sex." Tell me about that. That seems to be taking it to the next level. A - It's hard to say what "taking it to the next level" is likely to be today. I watch very little television, but whatever I seem to watch, with the exception of "SportsCenter," everything is going to the next level. And I think at the WWE, the people who put together our program are probably just a little more clever than anybody else. We don't cover any more territory or go any further than anybody else. I just think the stuff we do is just a little catchier. Q - Did you ever think that at 56 you'd still be wrestling? A - I didn't until last year. Q - What happened? A - For a while I didn't have it. Well, I did, but I didn't. I mean, I liked what I was doing, but I wasn't on the edge like I used to be. No pun intended -- you have to be on the edge to want to be good at this. It's a hard, physical business. It's very mentally demanding. I kind of, in the last 10 years, got so wrapped up in the growth and development of my two youngest kids, that not only did I get lost in the storylines of WCW, I just kind of gave up on it. I didn't think there was anything left for me to do or accomplish. It's just been in the last four years with these guys that I've really gotten myself back in the groove. And clearly, it's taken two years to get back in the groove. Now I feel like I'm -- well, I've always felt like I was 25 years old -- that's one of my problems. I feel great. I'm really enjoying it and I think I've got a lot left in me, which I wouldn't have told you a year ago. ... I'm in a very good place in my life right now. Q - You're going through a divorce. A - I was going to say, except financially. Q - Does your impending divorce have anything to do with you still working? A - No. As a matter of fact, my impending divorce is making me better at what I do. I have someone now who encourages me and motivates me. It's hard to explain. I have different support systems in place than I have had in the past. Do I have to work for money? Yes. I mean, I don't have to work if I want to live like a guy who's done half of what I've done. But if I want to enjoy the life that I have led, I need to work because I'm giving half of what I have to my ex-wife. Which is fine. She's entitled to it and I have no problem with it. Q - Are you still interested in running for governor? A - Yeah, I'm very interested in it now. ... Not lieutenant governor. But governor.
