I really hope that wasn't Favre's last game. It'd be a sad way to go out. I'm happy that Miami won, anyway. The Jets couldn't make it after Baltimore won (the Ravens' victory which was never in doubt once that game got going anyway) so there was no effect on the Packes' draft pick, and I always enjoy seeing the underdog come up as logn as it's not a team/person I hate. I missed most of that Cowboys game while watching Miami/New York, but I have a feeling I'll get some enjoyment out of my new DVR playing back the Dallas game. I'll be relieved if Champ Bailey is out for the game, but I'd never wish a groin injury on any man.

Packers didn't lose, and the Cowboys are now down 27-3 headed into halftime. I'm happy. But fuck, this is my first Sunday with an HD receiver and DVR, so I'd be enjoying watching the games even if they were all 55-0. Not that I even got to see the Packers game, as usual. Sunday Ticket it is for me next season. I just hope the Chargers beat the Broncos. The whole division is an embarrassment, but watching the "NFL Replay" edition of SD/Denver game 1 from September reinforced the point that San Diego shouldn't even be in the position of having to win today.

Everyone knows that would never happen. CanadianChick was neither fat nor redheaded. Jingus would certainly be indifferent in that scenario.

Same guy. The book I mentioned is quite good as well. Just came out in late October. -
The Things That Anger You Thread.
Matt Young replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in General Chat
This doesn't really anger me, and it may not be the case with you, Leo, but it astounds me how so many people don't know their parents' birthdays or even their ages. I mean... how do you not know? But as far as things that anger me, I have a rant about DirecTV coming when I have more time. -
Neither. They're "predicitions". Smooooooth. I was pointing out the fact that the thread title says, "predicitions" rather than "predictions". Also: Luke-Owned.

I was sold when I saw the preview where he was pointing a gun at the Asian kids and said, "Get off my lawn."

The Kings looked a lot better tonight against the Coyotes in Glendale than they did when the two teams played last night at Staples. 4-0 Kings win. I set my new DVR to record Montreal/Pittsburgh, but it somehow got deleted. I'm recording the Flames, senators game, but I just turned it on as Ottawa scored their second goal. I think I'll just watch it from here rather than the beginning. I just wanted to see what hockey looks like in HD.

Well, Czech would tell you they need to get rid of everyone but Derrick Rose. While I'm on the subject, in the last NBA thread, bob_barron said nothing when Czech stated that the Bulls should tank the season to get a good draft pick since that would do more for them than the 8 seed could. Bob had previously called me a terrible fan for believing that my team, the White Sox, would lose a game when they were down in the 6th inning after they had shown an inability to win in such situations for a long time. That just goes to show the double standard Bob has when it comes to me. Anyway, the Bulls have a very solid foundation. They were distracted early last season by the Kobe Bryant trade rumors, and Deng and Gordon were upset about their contractual situations. Scott Skiles was fired prematurely, and it was all downhill from there. The Ben Wallace trade didn't help because, while they got rid of a big, overpaid oaf, they took on a smaller, overpaid guy in Larry Hughes who is a locker room cancer. They really only need 2 things. It's just that those 2 things are hard to come by in the NBA. They need a good coach, which they had, and they need to acquire a talented center, probably in a trade involving Gordon or Hinrich, another player, and a draft pick or two. I like Drew Gooden, but he's not sticking around nor is he worth keeping at the salary he will command, and neither he nor Joakim Noah are fit to play he center position in the NBA. Noah doesn't score or rebound well, and he's so skinny that he can't defend NBA bigs. If the Bulls has a good coach and a decent to good center, they'd be the 4th or 5th best team in the Eastern Conference, though still clearly behind Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando.

Luol Deng is out only a week at most. That's a relief. He's under-performing this season, but the last thing we need is another injured player.

WWE General Discussion - December 2008

Haha... I'm reading The Spy Who Came For Christmas by David Morrell, and a few pages in, one of the main characters mentions his parents' names. He gave his father's name as Vladimir Kozlov. -
I watched Impact on Thursday, but I'm watching the replay now- I guess after the UFC thing, they moved it to 6 A.M. permanently- and I just have to say, as my first HD wrestling show, this is awesome. I'm so glad to finally b able to watch in high def.

It'll be my first NHL game, but not my first time at Staples Center. Seats are in section 318.

So, after going to 8 or 9 Ontario Reign games, I'm finally going to get to attend a Kings game live! They have a 36 hour sale going on where tickets, including some lower bowl seats, are $11.50 each for home games in January. I'm not sure where I'll be seated yet since my friend got the tickets, but I'm really looking forward to it. The game is Saturday, January 3rd, against the Flyers.

Well, sure Bill Simmons would say that now. I bet he was howling for more parity when the Celtics sucked dick for free, in between references to Georges Muresan and the Karate Kid. Don't cite that feeble-voiced punkass in Boston-related sports matters, Matt; you're smarter than that. I never read Simmons before last year, so I don't know what he was like. His Boston homerism is blatant. That much is apparent to anyone who has read a single one of his columns. But I still agree with what he said as I stated before. It was the same when the Bulls were on top. Speaking of the Bulls, they're playing a rare nationally televised game right now. I wish the DirecTV guy would get here so I could watch the rest in HD. The Bulls are wearing their black unis as they play the heat in the first ever matchup between #1 pick Derrick Rose and #2 pick Michael Beasley and the Heat. It's 21-18 Bulls after 1. Ben Gordon has hit 3 three pointers and, I was surprised to find out, is 1 behind Scottie Pippen for most threes ever in a career by a Bull.

I agree. They turned Bolt before even bothering to establish her as a character, and Rhaka Khan would have been much better as an opponent for Kong. Neither. They're "predicitions".

Exchangeit at the store before you try sending it to MS. You should have at least 30 days.

Did anyone else pick up the game? I've put in about 3 and a half hours of campaign, 30 minutes being 4 player co-op on Veteran (a masochist's dream). I'm really enjoying it so far. I haven't played multiplayer, but I got in about 10 hours on the beta while it was out and it's just as good as COD4. I should be playing this a lot in the near future, though Gears 2 will be taking up my gaming time as well. If you guys wantto get a game going, let me know.

Why the hate? I could see hating Kobe, which you said you don't, and Gasol if you're Chinese, but other than that... why? I don't like the Celtics, but I respect the team. Also, Kevin Garnett has been one of my favorite players since his second year in the league, so even though I was pissed when Boston won the title, I was happy for KG. Anyway... Since Devin Harris was mentioned during the Mavs/Blazers game (nice red and green Christmas color coordination, by the way)- do you guys think the Nets can keep up their decent start and contend for the playoffs? I had them pegged to be the second worst team in the league after OKC, but they're 14-14 and Devin Harris is in beast mode. Postgame edit: Wow... the Blazers just collapsed there. Roy could have brought them right back in it with that 3, but he missed badly. Props to Dallas for beating a very game Blazers team, even after Josh Howard was ejected early on. Today was the best day of basketball I can remember in a long, long time. This all reminds me of why I used to obsess over basketball and why it was my favorite sport for so long. I kind of stopped watching regularly (but always kept up with things) around 2003. The Bulls were no good, the Lakers were no good, and the game just wasn't entertaining. Teams like the Spurs, Nets, and Pistons were just no fun to watch and they were the ones contending year in and year out. Bill Simmons was right- fuck parity. The league is infinitely better when there are some very elite teams and some really horrible teams, rather than all but 2-3 being in the middle of the pack.

I can't believe Washington blew that game. Okay, I can, because it's Washington. But the Wizards had the Cavs beaten there. Fuck. Why can't Cleveland just lose?
-
It may have been Michael trying to cover his ass so they wouldn't reveal his identity to the captain, but more likely than that, it was Keamy and his people trying to stop Sayid and Desmond from siding with the captain so that they could fool them into taking the side of the Keamy-led crew.

I had a dream (terrible choice of words, but it was an actual dream) after Sojourner Bolt attacked Christy Hemme. In that dream, Bolt joined Kong and Rhaka Khan in a group called "The Black Bitch Brigade".
-
Yeah, but sometimes you end up with gift cards from shitty places.

Great game by both teams. Now we sadly get to see the Cavs beat the Wizards by 25. Psycho, I'd love to see the Cavs lose, too, but it won't happen.
