Hot damn. Trevor Ariza with the diving save, and Vujacic catches it, hits the layup, and gets fouled. Man, NBA Christmas is already way better than NFL Thanksgiving, and we still have 2 and 1/2 games to go. Cavs/Wizards will probably have a margin of victory similar to the Thanksgiving football games, though. EDIT: I can't believe it took until 13.5 second left in the half for Boston to shoot their first free throws. That was one hell of a well played (by both teams), physical, entertaining first half at Staples. 51-45 Lakers.

I was under the impression that it would be a highlight show until Lawler mentioned that on Raw. When a year in review and/or Tribute to the Troops normally replaces Raw, it's easy to get confused.

For sure. I'm watching all 4 seasons prior to the new one. I'm just not waiting until 3 days prior this time around. I ended up starting season 3 around midnight January 30th/31st and finished the whole 18 hours or so just before the season 4 premiere.

TNA Impact will be on sale, NEW, for $9.99 from 12/28-1/4 at GameCrazy. Can't pass that up. Thanks to my buddy Jon from GameCrazy for the info.

Raw is a regular show. They announced the 4 way Race to the Rumble match for next Monday.

WOW... Amazing finish in Phoenix. Tied at 88, Grant Hill inbounds the ball, runs in behind a couple SA defenders, and drops in a layup with 4 and a half seconds remaining. San Antonio calls a timeout and inbounds at half court. Parker tries to drive, kicks it out to Roger Mason, and Mason hits the 3 as time expires to win it for the Spurs, 91-90. Stuff like that reminds me of why I love basketball. I hate both teams (not that they aren't fun to watch) but that finish and the fact that Phoenix lost makes me happy. Now it's time for Lakers/Celtics. My only regret is that I don't get to see it in HD, but I found out that ESPN is showing Bulls/Heat, Rose vs. Beasley, tomorrow afternoon. I get a rare opportunity to see my Bulls on TV, and I'm getting my HD receiver tomorrow.

Holy crap. That's a lot... I got $230: $100 each from my mom and great grandma, $30 from one grandma(all early) plus a couple random gifts. I used $50-some to buy Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 and Fallout 3 for $20 and $30 respectively, spent $137 on my HD DVR which will be installed tomorrow, and I'm using the rest on Lost Season 4 and the new Edge DVD. Merry Christmas, TSM Universe!

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Deleted. I got a "Merry Christmas" from Chave. Aww. -
Yeah, NHL 08 was a huge leap forward in hockey games, and 09 just improves on that formula with things like stick lifts and one handed dekes while adding online 6 vs. 6 leagues (with I believe 50 players per team- my team has 40ish) complete with stat tracking. It's my favorite sports game ever, and I've played dozens.

I changed the Kings' lines in my dynasty to close to what the real ones are. The differences are that I have Brown and Purcell switched in line 1 and 2 because Brown is my leading scorer, Johnson and Doughty are first line D since Johnson isn't injured in my game, and Harrold is scratched because Quincey, not so good in the game but better than Harrold, is the 3rd defenseman. Current record is 18-10-6.

I'm just surprised Imageshack only flagged 2 of the images. But you can see worse stuff in jj.am's amateur gallery.

The idea of the forum for all the end of year awards is a good one, but the execution is quite bad. There are no categories, and people are just randomly listing shit. We need people to organize things. I'm volunteering to do it for the video games forum. My suggestion, which should at least get people more involved, is to create a pinned link to each subforum to its respective award topic.

Yes, he does. I don't care about the Canucks, but with him out, I'm stuck with Marty Turco and Peter Budaj on my fantasy team. On a somewhat related note, I'll actually be able to watch some Canucks games and other assorted non-Kings games in a few days, and in high def. I'm getting my HD dish and HD DVR installed Friday, so I can record HNIC and watch the Canadian teams as well as the games on Versus. I'm usually gone on Saturdays so I don't get to see HNIC.

I know that we rarely have separate threads for Xbox Live Arcade games, but I feel that this game deserves one. To be honest, the game wasn't even on my radar until a week ago, when many of my Live friends began getting really hyped up in anticipation of its release (which came around 3 A.M. Pacific time today). After playing the demo- I'll have points for the full game tomorrow- I can safely say the hype is justified. Are you a fan of 2D side scrolling beat-em-ups? A fan of rescuing princesses? A fan of gorgeous hand-drawn art? If you answered "yes" to any of the preceding questions, Castle Crashers is probably for you. If you're unsure, like I was, give the demo a try. Since I have just recently discovered how cool the game is myself, I will copy and paste the detailed description of it from GameFAQs user Grey-Hawk07: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage....;topic=44852580 Reviews: Gamespot review (8.5/10) IGN review (9/10)

It's more frustrating when your team is in their division. I'm just wondering if they'll actually be able to advance past the second round this year.

http://kotaku.com/5117448/castle-crashers-...ly-gets-patched It's a Christmas miracle! I loved this game, but I haven't played it in months since I lost all my data. That happened in single player, too, not multiplayer. I really liked multiplayer, although I could never make it through more than 1 level with 3 people and couldn't connect with 4.

I just saw The Godfather for the first time. Yeah, seriously. There are a lot of movies people consider classics that I either haven't seen or didn't see until much later than most people. I didn't see any Star Wars films until the DVD set came out in 2004. I never saw any of the Terminator or Indiana Jones movies until this year. Anyway, I don't get the hype. The Godfather is a good movie, certainly, but I don't see what puts it anywhere near "best movie ever" territory. It kind of dragged at several points. I enjoyed it, but it's not something I'd want to watch again and again. That being said, Netflix is the shit. In the past month, I've watched almost 40 movies on disc and streaming. $8.99 a month for 1 DVD at a time plus over 12,000 titles streaming (I have 218 in my queue that I can watch from my PC or Xbox 360) is just incredible.

Well, they don't have anyone else except Bernier, who they don't want to call up yet since they want him to get experience as a starter in Manchester. But still, any goalie currently on their roster is better than LaBarbera.
-
The Lakers are up by 19 on the Hornets in the 3rd after outscoring them 32-17 in the 2nd. I expected this game to be a lot closer.
-
Oh, for sure. With almost the exact same SOG differential, LaBarbera gave up 5 goals to Buffalo last week. There's a reason they're starting Quick now rather than him.
-
The Kings practically doubled their opponent's shot total again but actually won this time, 3-0 over the Blue Jackets. It was Jon Quick's first NHL shutout, and snapped the Jackets' 5 game home win streak while ending the Kings' 4 game losing streak (though 2 of those losses were OT and shootout).
-
Hey wow, I just saw this. Gotta make sure the millions... and millions of Matt Young fans know who to vote for.
-
Fuck... one week ago, and I could have afforded this.
-
We need actual award categories.

The Packers losing to the Lions next week as time expires would be the ultimate low point in a season full of heartbreaking losses. So yeah, it'll happen.
