To be fair, though, a lot of stuff was cut from the first game according to a dveloper interview in an issue of EGM from the time. I'd have to check on the exact month and issue number.

RedSox Fans Show That They They Are

Just out of curiousity, I am the only one who chose the White Sox/Indians game over Yanks/Sawx?

    This "week" in the NBA

I'm still more than happy with a playoff berth (and probably home court advantage for the first round) but I'm also disappointed. I believe the Bulls at full strength could beat any team in the East in a seven game series except for Miami. They'd have a tough time against Detroit, but the season series this year shows me that the Bulls are capable of beating the Pistons.

The reason Bioware passed on developing KOTOR II was because they wanted to dedicate themselves to the Jade Empire project. The new developer (I know the name, but can't think of it for some reason) did use the same engine and was helepd a lot in the beginning by Bioware. I think that the reason KOTOR II is so buggy (from what I hear; I haven't played it) is because they rushed it out several months early for the Christmas season.

    I need an RPG........

*Goes to find RPGs to recommend for the Turbo Duo* Seriously though, you emntioned older systems as well... but oh well. Most others have covered the PS2 side of things, and the good Xbox RPGs aren't turn based. For GameCube, Paper Mario 2 is one of the greatest games ever and it has that distinctive Mario/Nintendo charm. Skies of Arcadia: Legends is a fantastic roleplaying game, but the random battles that occur far too frequently are a downer. The best RPG ever in my opinion (well, except for maybe Chrono Trigger) is Tales of Symphonia for the GameCube. Great story, great graphics, great gameplay, great characters... great everything. It's not turn-based, but I loved the real time battles, and that's coming from someone who enjoys turn-based combat to the point that I've insisted it be used in real life battles.

Dama- It's hard to recommend games when I don't know what systems you have. Obviously, you have a PS2, and I believe you've stated taht you own an Xbox, but that's all I know of at this point.

    I need an RPG........

I've heard of this, but I know very little about it. I'll go research the game on GameFAQs now, but please tell me more. I've just finished the first disc of Tales of Symphonia and should be done with the game soon (the second disc is a lot shorter) and it's one of my favorite games. I'd love to play something else in the series during the 10 months I have until Tales of Legendia is released over here.

    WWE Wrestlemania 21

I'll be getting the game as soon as the GameRush in Moreno Valley gets it in (I usually go to gameCrazy, but I took advantage of the trade in 2 games, get a pre-order for $30 offer). My Gamertag is MattYoung. For the league, we definitely need a heavyweight title and tag title, if available. I think we should decide on the number of titles after we see how many people are joining. About the fed... Who's going in charge? How often would we have shows? Would we try to do all matches on the same night, or just over the course of the week? I think we need to decide on all that soon and get things organized.

    This "week" in the NBA

Gah... First, the Timberwolves have a terrible season the eyar after making it out of the first round for the first time, and now the excitement over the Bulls heading into the playoffs for the first time in 7 years is almost ruined because 2 starters, Luol deng and leading scorer Eddie Curry, are out for the year. Fuck.

Let's get some new member titles

I posted this in the wrong thread earlier: Make one of the low-level titles "Tatanka's Bloody Asshole", just because. That's going to be one of those things that's only funny to me since I'm severely sleep deprived.

    Oops, yeah. Sleep deprivation.

Some people got it yesterday, but still, far from "a while." I'd like to hear opinions on it from people here who get the game.
  14. Tales of Legendia to be released in North America for PS2 I didn't copy and paste the article because I couldn't highlight the text properly for some reason. This is great news for me. I love Tales of Symphonia, which was released last July for the GameCube, so it's cool to know that another game in the series will be making it over here. Speaking of Tales of Symphonia, I got the game when it was released in mid-July. I pre-ordered it at Best Buy just because I thought it looked cool. I knew next to nothing about the game, and it had been delayed for over a year, but my interest in anime and RPGs was peaking, and the game seemed to combine the two into a tight little package. I didn't have internet access at the time the game was released, but I checked and there was never a thread posted here about it. I figured I might as well include discussion in here rather than start 2 separate threads. In short, ToS is brilliant. I've played games for a long time, but ToS is one of the few RPGs I've owned, and it's probably one of my all-time favorite games. Thing is, though, I haven't finished it, even after 9 months. I'd play for hours at a time, but sometimes I'd get stuck and leave the game for a couple weeks at a time due to playing other games, going out, working, etc. I had about 38 hours put in before I moved in November, and I hadn't played the game since then fue to acquiring an Xbox and a bunch of games for that system. I picked the game up again tonight and loved it just as much as before, and I played for 3 and a half hours, unlocking the final 2 seals and FINALLY finishing Disc 1 after 41 hours and 29 minutes. The game box promises 80 hours of gameplay, but that's likely only if one were to collect everything. As I said, I just started Disc 2, and judging from a list of chapters on GameFAQs, Disc 2 is much shorter than Disc 1. Maybe I'll actually finish the game soon! Anyway, discussion is open for Tales of Symphonia and the upcoming Tales of Legendia. Tales of Eternia is also scheduled for release for the PSP, but I don't know anything about that game yet.

  16. I figured I might as well finally make use of my broadband connection and download some music. I had been buying CDs at Best Buy (paying no more than $9.99 each) but now I'm broke again and I will have to make due with downloading CDs I want until I can afford legitimate copies of the good ones. At the same time, as a music lover and a songwriting musician, I wish to expose myself to new music (rather than schoolgirls) and expand my tastes. I'm also hoping that some new stuff will help me shake off this long running writer's block I've been experiencing. I know a lot of people here listen to bands I've never heard of, which is great, but feel free to recommend stuff by more "mainstream" artists as well if you feel that the music is good. Genre and time of release are unimportant. If you can provide the material for download or give a link, that'd be even better. Also, if anyone else wants to request recommendations from the board or make some, feel free to do so here.

All right... If you ever do want the trial code, just let me know. Then again, by that time, you may have already purchased another game with a trial code. They've got a batch of newer codes in recently released games such as Doom 3.

I was wondering about that myself. Also, I throw my support to Kotz.

Ha... You're going to end up like me, getting nearly 20 Xbox games within months of purchasing the system and still having several unopened/unplayed titles while at the same time buying more. Then again, you won't be spending dozens upon dozens of your gaming hours on Xbox Live, so maybe not. Also, between all the Star Wars hype for Episode III, the long running KOTOR II thread, re-watching the Trilogy DVDs (I've only watched the movies 2 or 3 times, ever) and now your post, I'm sooooo tempted to open KOTOR... But I have so many games I've started and haven't finished, including 3 or 4 other RPGs. Decisions, decisions... Oh shit, I almost forgot. Do you have broadband, Lushus? If so, I have a free 2 month trial for Xbox Live that I will give you. It expired on 3/31, but according to people I've talked to, I can call Microsoft, telling them I just got the game that included the trial, give them the expired code, and they'll give me a new one. If that's the case, it's all yours. You won't be able to talk to anyone unless you buy a headset (or just get a starter kit and extend your subscription with that) but you can at least try out your Live enabled games. I know you have at least one- MLB 2K5.

The Cheap Ass Gamer forums have the best one. Any time you type the word "fuck", it's replaced with "shaq-fu." Actually, now that they've upgraded the boards, it replaces fuck with the Shaq-Fu logo. And I know, because I say "fuck" a lot.

    Non-spoiler Smackdown and Velocity listings

Hmm. I thought Chavo was out for a few more weeks with his injury, and that Shannon would be out for a while after his car wreck. At any rate, it's nice to see them back. I just hope Shannon doesn't get fired tomorrow.

IGN to sell ads to be put in games

IGN vastly overrates games quite often. Gamespot's much more reliable as far as I'm concerned. However, I believe that if you are going to let a review dictate a game purchase, you should make that judgment based on the content of the review rather than the final score.

    Doom III

I really want to get this game for online co-op. I heard that the versus modes weren't all that spectacular, but being able to team up with a friend on Xbox Live to tackle the campaign mode would be worth the $50 alone if the game was good, which everyone seems to agree that it is.

Buying things I can get for free

This is just a random question that comes to mind every now and then, and I am interested to hear your thoughts. Some of you may disagree with me, but I want to be honest- I have no moral objection to obtaining copyrighted materials without paying. It may seem contradictory, but while I detest stealing in the traditional sense, I have never had a problem downloading or copying games or music, which some people do consider classifiable as theft. I would always try to get copies of games and especially CDs from friends or painstakingly download the music via my 56k modem. So now that I have broadband, you'd think I'd be doing this more than ever, right? Wrong. I am downloading CDs to replace mine that were stolen, but other than that, I have bought all my games (I even buy carts when I could easily get ROMs) and I started buying CDs again this year, although I won't spend more than $9.99 usually. For some reason, I enjoy having the actual design and packaging in my hands and/or on my shelf. I can't even explain why. I could likely print off a near perfect copy of the disc design, booklet, etc. but I choose to pay for the real thing when i could get it for free. Is this an extreme collector's mentality or simply insanity?

    Backlash Card

Seven. Edge and Jeff 'Unover' Jarrett held the previous record of 6, and maybe RVD, too. I can't remember if he had 5 or 6 reigns. Then again, he can't remember either.
