  1. I couldn't find any info on the site, so I figured maybe one of you would know. There are a few items on Amazon.com that I really want- most of all, The Simpsons Seasons 1-5 DVD boxed set for $140- but I can't afford them right at this moment. The DVD set in particular is advertised at 42% off. Does Amazon change their sales every week or should the item stay at that price?

Both are essentially the same. They have the same games, features, etc. I have the GameCube version since I don't own a PS2, but a lot of people prefer the PS2 version since the one on the Cube has the jump and shoot buttons switched (B is jump, A is shoot). But even I, a Mega Man devotee since the NES days, was able to get used to the flipped GC controls rather quickly. Still, if you have both systems, the PS2 edition is probably your best bet.

If AngleSault was still around, he'd more than make up for the apparent dearth of Yankee fans.

Thank you very much. I have no more questions at the moment, but I will probably end up asking more after checking into everything you listed. It's just nice to know that there will be some shows in Riverside that I can attend. I guess I got spoiled by having a good wrestling fed running monthly shows back in Illinois. I really do need to get a new car.

    Southern California Indies

I moved to Southern California several months ago and I need to find some good indy shows to attend. Indy wrestling has been a big part of my life as I had been attending New Midwest Wrestling shows every month for the last few years when I was in Illinois and I knew just about everyone in the promotion. I don't know of any promotions down here besides UPW. Could someone give me a list or links to some sites? I live in Moreno Valley, just outside of Riverside. If at all possible, I'd like to find a promotion that runs shows closer to me rather than having to travel to Anaheim or LA (since I don't have a car at the moment). Also, a list of wrestling schools would be helpful since I may resume training once I add some muscle and save up enough cash.

The Lakers are probably my next favorite team after the T'Wolves and Bulls. I've followed them since around the time Magic Johnson made his comeback.
  7. I've heard really good things about the Neo Geo Pocket Color system. Game Liquidation is offering the system along with 6 games for $55. The games are as follows: 1. Samurai Showdown 2 2. Fatal Fury First Contact 3. King of Fighters R-2 4. Metal Slug: 1st Mission 5. Neo Turf Masters (Green) 6. Pac Man Shipping is free. Should I get it? For those who are interested, here's the link: NGPC @ Game Liquidation

I went to SoCal Uncensored earlier. Everything on their message board was very old, from 2003-2004. Maybe it's one of those boards where I can't view newer posts unless I register. EDIT: Strange... It's up to date now. I don't know what the problem was earlier. Thanks, though.
  9. http://www.insidepulse.com/article.php?contentid=31729 North American PSP Launch Details Revealed Posted By Michael O'Reilly on 02.03.2005 March 24. $249 North American PSP Launch Details Revealed. The launch date and pricing for Sony's upcoming Playstation Portable have finally been revealed. The system will begin selling in North America on March 24, and will retail for $249, which is more than the $199 price point many were expecting. Unlike Japan there will only be the one package available for purchase, so no variety that way. The system will come with memory stick, remote controlled headphones, a non interactive demo disc and a soft case, along with an AC power adapter. The first million units will also ship with a free copy of Spider-man 2 on the PSP's UMD disc format. Here are the expected Launch Window Games: -- Ape Escape®: On the Loose, Sony Computer Entertainment America -- ATV Offroad Fury®: Blazin' Trails, SCEA -- Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, Capcom -- Dynasty Warriors®, KOEI -- FIFA 2005, Electronic Arts -- Gretzky NHL®, Sony Computer Entertainment America -- Lumines, Ubisoft -- Metal Gear Acid, Konami -- MLB, Sony Computer Entertainment America -- MVP Baseball, Electronic Arts -- NBA, Sony Computer Entertainment America -- NBA Street Showdown, Electronic Arts -- Need for Speed Rivals, Electronic Arts -- NFL Street 2 Unleashed, Electronic Arts -- Rengoku: Tower of Purgatory, Konami -- Ridge Racer, Namco -- Smartbomb, Eidos Interactive -- Spider-Man 2, Activision -- Tiger Woods PGA TOUR®, Electronic Arts -- Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix, Activision -- Twisted Metal: Head On, Sony Computer Entertainment America -- Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade, Sony Online Entertainment -- Wipeout® Pure, Sony Computer Entertainment America -- World Tour Soccer, Sony Computer Entertainment America Source: GamesIndustry.biz, Evil Avatar ---------------------------- This is a decent launch lineup, but it might suck for you if you're not into sports games. Personally, I haven't even gotten a DS yet and I'm a Nintendo fanatic. I'd like to get a PSP, but I'll be waiting until it has more games that I'm interested in. Also, there's no way in hell that I can afford it at the moment.

I'm a White Sox fan. I think Smell the Ratings is too, not sure though. And the Bulls too (though I can't really follow them in San Diego) I feel your pain. I was used to getting all the Bulls, Sox, and Cubs games in cental Illinois, but now I don't have access to any Chicago sports channels of course since I'm in Southern California. It's a good thing I've always followed the Dodgers and Angels. Now I can go see the amazing VLAD~! and my favorite player, fellow Glenwood High School alum Jayson Werth. Plus I can see the Cubs and Sox when they come in town. As for the Bulls, I'm screwed. They finally get good again and I can't watch the games.

Beat Down looks to be promising if it has that old school, 16-bit 2D side scrolling beat-em-up feel. I love those types of games. Mega Man X Collection is great for those of us who want to play the SNES versions on a console but sold our original cartridges back in 1997 to get money for a Nintendo 64 and don't want to pay ungodly prices to replace them. Plus I still haven't gotten tired of replaying the MM Anniversary Collection. Andrew- Last I heard (at GameFAQs), MMAC for GBA was delayed until March 1st. However, some sources still say it "may" be cancelled. I really hope it comes out, though. I missed out on the Game Boy Mega Man games.

I didn't think anyone else besides Czech and myself liked the Bulls, and I haven't met any other White Sox fans here. The only Chicago team that I've seen get any love from more than a couple posters has been the Cubs.

Hey, maybe now I can still follow the Cubs and Sox despite not being in Illinois.

  19. I know that some people here won't condone this, but I also know that others have done this, so I figured I'd ask. I'll be straight with you guys. I'm wanting to get a PS2, but I'm strapped for cash. I'm wanting to find games that stores like Best Buy sell for $10-20 that are still priced at $40-50 at places such as Wal-Mart or K-Mart. i can then purchase them cheaply and exchange them for store credit toward a PS2. So... any suggestions?

Games that are cheap at most stores

Ha. It sucks... I don't smoke weed too often, but I had been enjoying a hookup I found for $20 halfs. Then that guy moved away and the DEA officer moved in (not the same house) within a week. The officer did come over here once, though, and he seemed like some sort of stoner/tripper hybrid. He greeted me with, "Yo bro, what's happenin'?" So maybe he does dip into the stash.

    NBA All-Star Starters Announced

No surprises whatsoever. Damn. Those guys are all deserving, though. Carter's debatable, but he's been doing very well with New Jersey. I guess my repeated voting for Andre Iguodala and a lot of Bulls and T'Wolves players didn't do much good. I did pick Garnett and Hill, at least.

Serious suggestions? Okay... I probably won't come up with anything creative right at the moment, but here are some "normal" names that I like: William Matthew Owen Eh.... I've got nothing right now. Sorry.

A DEA officer lives across the street. Too risky. This is mostly because I can't find a job, but yes, that's partially accurate.

    Hottest female wrestler

Sorry, Johnny, but Banqz is just atrocious. There's something... off-putting about Stacy's face and she is definitely overrated. Still ridiculously gorgeous by normal people standards, but not compared to other "divas". Thank you, Jingus, for listing Daffney. I can't believe I forgot her. I love hot goth chicks, and she is from the same area I grew up in. She'd definitely make my top 3. I can't decide in what order to rank her, Christy, and Molly.
