I hope they both get in, but the only reason the Bulls have a better shot is because they're in the East where teams can get in with losing records and, of course, Chicago has an easier schedule. It's great that the Bulls are finally starting to realize their potential, though, after 6 straight losing seasons.

Actually, I'm not a bandwagon fan. I always liked the Bulls since I grew up in Illinois, but in 5th or 6th grade, I wanted to be different and the T-Wolves had a few players I liked and they had just drafted Garnett, so I declared my allegiance to Minnesota and bought a Wolves hat and Garnett jersey. I continued watching them and they're still my favorite team to this day. I've still been a Bulls fan for the last 13 years or so as well... But they're my #2 team. People made fun of me for liking the Wolevs when they sucked, and now I get accused of being a bandwagon fan when they're good. Same with the Bulls... I'll probably be called a bandwagon guy if they end up making the playoffs this year. if you weren't serious, then never mind... It just frustrates me since people have seriously made those accusations before. Bleh.

Home court, not home field. And really, the Wolves befuddle me. I've been a huge fan since they drafted KG in 1995, and I've watched them go from one of the sorriest franchises in the league to a playoff team, then 7 straight years of heartbreaking eliminations in the first round, until they finally finished last year with the best record in the West and fell 2 wins shy of the NBA Finals. They have essentially the same team as last year, but shit's just not coming together. It's really depressing, but they will make the playoffs and hopefully they can pull everything together by that point and make a run. If they're on their game come playoff time, I feel that very few teams have a shot at beating them.

I can't say that I've ever experienced anything like that, but I just wanted to say congratulations. You've made it blatantly obvious how much you love OU sports, so this should be the perfect gig for you. I hope you do well and enjoy every moment.

This isn't exactly a huge shock. Even though I really like Zakk Wylde as a guitarist and sometimes as a songwriter, BLS is often very difficult to listen to because of Wylde's horribly forced vocals which are a terrible sounding 5th rate imitation of Ozzy. However, I'm only going by the singles and maybe one or two listens of a full album (1919 Eternal, I think), so that may not be indicative of his work on the whole.

Eh... Wrestling wins out over just about anything on TV for me, and it makes more sense to watch SD from 8-10 and tape PP than to watch PP live and tape the 2 hours of SD. If I'm home, there's nothing else I'll be watching from 8-9 on Thursdays anyway.

You seem like a nice guy, Mole, so I hope you don't take this personally, but you seem to have a long way to go. The words you are looking for are "an aspiring", not "a inspiring". As for American Idol, I always assumed the show would suck until I saw the last couple episodes of last season in May. I've enjoyed season 4 thus far and it seems like something I could watch every week. I still don't know if the appeal will last past the hilarity of the delusional talentless fools auditioning, though. I can't imagine how some of those people could actually believe that they have talent. As someone who is passionate about music and who is an aspiring musician, a few of those people almost made my ears bleed and my heart break simultaneously. By the way, I don't remember what show it's supposed to be on, but some program is interviewing the crazy bitch in the near future. I think the commercial advertising that was on during Point Pleasant. Maybe someone else can fill us in with the details. Who do you guys think is the best so far? My favorite is the blonde girl on the St. Louis episode who cited Martina McBride as her main influence. I can't remember her name, but she's hot as fuck and has a voice that's just as beautiful.

Even though there's really nothing too significant as far as big names or matches that will matter 2 weeks from now, every single match on Smackdown and the cruiser tag have the potential to be pretty good.

I was going tho start this thread the other day but I didn't get a chance. It's nice to see that others are interested and watching. Although I can count the number of non-wrestling/music/sports shows I've watched regularly in the past few years on one hand, I was eagerly anticipating the premiere of Point Pleasant ever since seeing the previews and it definitely did not disappoint. The show definitely kept me entertained throughout the entire hour and that was just the tip of the iceberg. From the looks of things, the coming weeks should be even better. I'm definitely hooked. I love stuff that involves religion and/or the supernatural, and this show just delivers for me. I'm disappointed that it's going to air on Thursdays, though. I should've known since Fox did the same thing with 24 and American Idol, airing the premiere one night and then the second episode on the next night, its regular night. But now I'll probably have to tape PP since Smackdown's on from 8-10 here. Regardless, I'll still be watching.

The Misfits are indeed an awesome band. I saw them play live at Warped Tour 2001 (yeah, I know it wasn't the 'real' Misfits, but I'll take what I can get) and put on a fantastic live show. It didn't hurt that, in addition to their hits, they covered 3-4 Ramones classics since the show took place not too long after Joey passed. I have always really liked Rancid as well, though...

This statement is just a big bowl of wrong. Yes, yes... I know. But you see, I grew up in central Illinois, 1.5 hours east of St. Louis and 3 hours south of Chicago. In Springfield, at least, allegiances are split between the Cubs and cards (I think I was the only Sox fan there). I even know I guy who has a "CUBNALS" license plate. Long story short: I personally took to the Sox, but my family is full of hardcore Cubs fans (my grandpa even made a moving wooden model of a bear in a Cubs hat kicking a cardinal in the ass) so I like them as well. But the Cards got Mark McGwire around the time I started watching baseball religiously, and I am a fan of theirs as well. I know it may not be kosher to a Chicagoan such as yourself, but I'm just one of many who like both the Cubs and Cards.

Um... I just want to have something cleared up for me. Although I haven't gotten around to actually watching an episode of 24 yet, I've taped all 3 episodes after my cousin practically orgasmed over the show. I originally thought I wouldn't get to see it at all since I heard it was on at the same time as Raw (and I never miss Raw when I'm home), but it turns out that that is not the case. Raw airs from 6-8 P.M. with 24 coming on at 9 P.M. (8 last week). Is this only a West Coast thing? The only thing I can figure is that 24 airs at 9 P.M. nationwide.

Exactly... That was the White Sox' downfall last season- The long term injuries to Frank Thomas and Magglio Ordonez. It's all just as well, though, because if they would have stayed healthy, the Sox would've ended up trading away Mags and most of the other good players at the deadline while sitting 3-4 games out of the division lead. God, it's really depressing being a baseball from Illinois who has watched the Cubs and Sox since day 1. At least the Cardinals are good.

I need to take all my old, worthless EA Sports games and maybe buy some more for $5 a pop and take them over to the EA-LA offices for a mass burning. I'm sure I can get others to join in. Well, probably not, but it sounds good in theory.

Fuck... And I was all set to make the trip, seeing as how it's only 60 miles from here. This isn't even worth it.

It's sad... EA knows the competition has a better product and will undercut them at any opportunity just because they have the money and industry clout to do so. Don't get me wrong- Madden is a good game, but it's vastly inferior to the Sega Sports football line. This just makes me sick... As we so often see in the video game industry, actual quality and innovation loses out to the same old tired rehashed shit since that's the only thing that's profitable these days. Before all this, I would've gladly bought an EA game. I actually own quite a few. It was my belief that both EA and ESPN's games were worth owning. Now I will just stick with ESPN 2K5 for football and I will not buy another EA Sports game period if there is an alternative available (Tiger Woods being the exception). I'm not dumb enough to think that EA will go out of business if I and other boycott them, but with the amount of people who have sworn off EA already, they'll take a hit in sales for sure.

Most ultimate fighting stuff (on video and in person) I've seen was more boring than a Heidenreich/Snitsky Iron Man match, but this looks interesting and I'll give it a shot. I just hope it doesn't turn out like boxing reality shows that aired last year.

Heh, I saw the news from the main page on Inside Pulse the other day. I was greatly amused by the fact that they considered their title "prestigious" when it had been given to Evan Karagias of all people. It's also hilarious, but nice as far as (really old) continuity goes, that Zbysko is still laying claim to it.

As far as where to get tickets, Ticketmaster, Comerica Park, and mlb.com seem like good starting points. I just want to warn you, though... I checked out ticket prices for the game when it was in Chicago at US Cellular, thinking it'd be a great once in a lifetime experience. I don't think I saw a single ticket for less than $250-300, and the best ones were much more expensive. They even charge ridiculous prices just for the Home Run Derby.

If I were you, I wouldn't admit to knowing anything about or liking Busted. *looks over at avatar* ....Oh. Heh. But seriously... These guys were terrible. Those "seven hits" must have been only in the UK, because all I ever ehard by them was "What I Go To School For" and even that only started getting airplay maybe a year ago, and then only in video form on Fuse, which not a lot of people get. The guys were better than American boy bands since they actually played instruments and such, but there's a reason that they never made it big over here. I also find the image of the one band member crying with the teenage girl fans. I just can't imagine any of those guys taking the cheap, crappy, bubble gum gayness that they tried to pass off as music seriously. I guess they were crying over all the money and underage pussy that they would henceforth be without. That I could understand. Man, this is the best breakup news I've heard since B2K called it quits. Thankfully, the reality TV curse has struck again...

Thanks, VX. That made things a lot more clear for me. I decided earlier after being completely overwhelmed and befuddled by what Crono posted that I would wait until I receive my pro package before buying anything just to be safe. Besides, Best Buy was sold out of the other stuff I planned on buying anyway. As for the league, signing up will be the frist thing I do on Live as I stated in the other thread.
