Just to preface this, I tried searching for info elsewhere, but this computer is so slow that I waited literally 2 hours and couldn't get the info I needed to load. I hope that you guys can help me out. I ordered SBC Yahoo DSL a few days ago. From all accounts, it is compatible with Xbox Live. The package is on its way at this time and what the service rep told me is that it would have everything I needed to connect to the internet. and I assumed all I would need for Live would be a starter kit. However, people are telling me now that I need some sort of ethernet card and ethernet cable? The cable would be affordable, I'm guessing, but any type of card for a computer is typically expensive. I don't want to have to spend a ton of money for this after paying for the DSL equipment. My computer (not this slow ass one, thank God) meets all the specs for running SBC Yahoo DSL and I have the Pro Package kit on its way to my house. I'm going to Best Buy today to pick up a few things, amongst them a Live starter kit, and I need to know what else, if anything, I need to purchase to run DSL on both my computer and Xbox Live (not necessarily at the same time, but that would be nice). I'd like to know before I go as it would be a hassle to get there again anytime in the next couple days since I don't have a car at the moment. I apologize for my complete lack of knowledge on what is likely a simple matter to many of you, but any help would be very much appreciated.

All right. Tomorrow's the 3rd day since I ordered, so I'm hoping my DSL equipment will arrive at that time rather than taking the full 5 days. I'm not sure where it was shipped from, though. I'll be sure to check for an open spot first thing after I get Live up and running.

That article's wrong. They added an Anaheim show on February 16th. I'm going to that one or the Feb. 18th gig. Pictures and a review followed by endless taunting and flaming from other TSM members are all likely forthcoming.

I've got an eMachines eTower 600 IS, if that helps at all...

I'm kind of stuck with SBC for the time being. Thank you very much for the info, but can you or anyone else explain that in layman's terms?

I definitely do. I either watch the following shows live or make sure to tape them every week without fail: Raw, Smackdown, Velocity, Heat, TNA Impact, and lucha on Galavision Saturdays and Sundays. I don't bother with the WWE recap shows. Before I moved, I also attended monthly New Midwest Wrestling live shows and watched every PPV with friends since each person only had to throw in $5 a piece. It's been 14 years as a fan for me and no matter how "bad" the WWE product gets, I consistently find many things to enjoy about it. I still buy DVDs as well, and since I'll be getting DSL in the next couple days, I'll be able to download WWE and TNA PPVs, puro, ROH, and many other indies. It'll be great.

Happy birthday, CC. Eh... I don't really have much to say other than that, but I like Canada, Edge, and women, and you're a Canadian woman who likes Edge, so you're okay in my book. Have great day! Only one more year til you can drink legally...

That picture sucks, but as I watched ESPN yesterday afternoon, the phrase, "I'd hit it" also came to mind for me as well. Then again, as the quote in my sig refers to, I did have sex with a girl who was 14 (3 days shy of 15... and I thought she was older) while I was 19 (and drunk) so I'm already too far gone to care. Age ain't nothin' but a number. I'll refrain from making the obvious club, shaft, and stroke jokes... for now.

I didn't post my picks here last week (although I went with the Packers, Rams, Colts, and Chargers) but I may as well copy and paste my hastily thrown together quick picks... I waited all week and still couldn't make up my mind about who was going to win any of these 4 games. I still can't state who I believe will win with 100% confidence, but nonetheless, here are my choices: Steelers 21, Jets 14: Part of me thinks that Big Ben will choke in his first playoff game, but I still can't see the ailing Jets beating them in Pittburgh. History is definitely on Pitt's side as well. Eagles 28, Vikings 17: The Vikes only won last week because Brett Favre had a shitty game. The Eagles made the NFC title game the last few years without TO, and they will certainly be able to defeat a lowly 8-8 team to do it again this year. The Vikings may end up putting up a good fight, though. Colts 35, Patriots 31: I know that NE has a habit of pulling it out on the rare occasions that people pick against them, but I just think that this is where their run ends. It'll be a very close game, but Indy will squeeze out a win. Rams 31, Falcons 14: This will surprise people, but i think that the "lowly" rams will win by a couple scores. The Falcons haven't really played a challenging game together as a complete, cohesive unit for a good while now and the Rams are on a roll, winning their last 2 regular season games to make the playoffs and then beating a talented Seattle team for the 3rd time this year. Being so close to St. Louis, I've seen enough of this team over the years that I know what they're capable of. Sorry, Woody Paige... I love ya, but the Rams take this one in the big upset of the week.

Damn you... I was just about to post a thread asking about people's tendencies in season and franchise modes, including this game. I guess I can still do that though since this only focuses on one game. I'm just now preparing to start a season, actually. I bought NBA 2K5 when I got my Xbox in early November. It was the first NBA game I had played since 2K1 on the Dreamcast. I didn't like it much at first and spent most of my sports gaming time with NFL 2K5, but I picked this game back up last night after voting for All-Star game starters online and I found myself wondering, "Why did I not like this game?" I've played 4 games since last night- equal to the total amount I had played altogether before that- and I'm decent at it, although I still struggle on pro. I'm not sure whether I'm going to start a season with my favorite team, the T'Wolves, or go with my #2, the Bulls, for more of a challenge. The training seems like an awesome feature, but i always seemed to lose points with it in NFL so I may skip it. I'll probably keep the rosters the same unless I can find a halfway decent free agent or two out there. How many games are you playing in your season? It seems like all the options offer too few games or too many. Well, 56 games may not be too many, but I can easily see myself getting bored halfway through.
-
I have no idea what you're talking about, but as far as getting roster updates, you can obviously update them manually or, more simply, you can download updated rosters via Xbox Live. By the way, you can check out www.gamefaqs.com for handy guides on stuff like this, just in case no one has an answer for you here. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Just like in real life!

Vitamin X- Thanks again for waiting. I don't know if you've gone ahead and started already or not. You said you'd give it a week and it's been 8 days. If you haven't, I would like to confirm my ability to participate. I'll finally have broadband access soon after signing up for SBC Yahoo DSL this morning. My package is supposed to arrive in 3-5 days and I'll be picking up an Xbox Live starter kit when I receive that, if not before. Anyway, just let me know if the league's still got a spot open for me. I'm going to go practice now so I don't get whipped too badly...

It's not out yet, Kanyon. As the article says, it's set to be unveiled in Tokyo on Sunday and is to be released sometime this year, although a date is still forthcoming.

Article Link Nintendo Announces "Dance Dance Revolution With Mario" Posted By Misha on 01.07.2005 No, it's not an April Fool News has just appeared on the Nintendo of Japan website announcing the development of a Dance Dance Revolution-style game featuring Mario and company. Whilst details are currently sketchy, it appears that Nintendo will be working in close collaboration with Bemani maestros Konami, and will feature the very best that both companies have to offer. The article also gives a 2005 release date, and suggest that the game will include mini-games as well as the 'main' game. Furthermore, the game is expected to ship with a dance mat included. The first live unveiling of the game is scheduled for the World Hobby Fair in Tokyo on January 16th. Until then, the early screenshots can be found here credit: Nintendo Japan & GamesRadar -------------------------- Personally, I am a DDR newbie. I've been getting into the game recently after watching some of my friends who are ridiculously skilled at it. I've been trying to decide which console version to get, and being a Mario mark, this should be pretty awesome.

Your Gamecube Game of the Year for 2005
Matt Young replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Video Games
Earlier, I said I was going to wait on this game. However, after reading reviews at various sites along with posts at GameFAQs, I decided I had to have it now. I called every store in the area yesterday and they all said that they wouldn't get it in til today or Thursday... except one. One of the Gamestops here was supposed to get it between 6-8 PM. When I went there, you know what they told me? They couldn't sell it to me for 2 days since I didn't have a pre-order, despite the fact that they had several extra copies after covering those pre-orders. What kind of fucked up, ass backwards business practice is this? I've never heard of that at any store, including other Gamestop locations. Well, it turns out that I may still have to wait on RE4 since I'll probably be needing to pick up an Xbox Live starter kit in a couple days, but regardless... I rarely shop at Gamestop as it is, but this bullshit has ensured that they will always be the very last place I'll go for games. I can get my RE4 elsewhere. -
I was always under the impression that those things could be learned, J*ingus. I've met a couple people who couldn't sing on key for shit until they received professional instruction. I'm interested in the responses that this thread may get for reasons similar to Czech's. I just got my guitar back after a year plus and I'm wanting to get a band started now that I'm out in California. I want to sing the lyrics that I have written since they are deeply meaningful to me. I've sung a few songs in front of crowds, but I'm merely an average-slightly above average rock singer. I'd like some pointers to improve my confidence and range (since I have an extremely low voice), Czech- What type of music will you be performing? Obviously vocals for some genres are a lot less complicated than others.

Hey, it's a big reunion. LJ, Sek, and Matt, together again. And since LJ mentioned Goldust... bring back SekDust! Warm and fuzzy memories aside, I also have wondered why Flair's theme isn't in the game. Actually, I'm pretty sure that his actual theme hasn't been in any of the games- Raw 1 & 2, the SD series, or WMXIX/DoR.

I know this is slightly off topic, but I was talking to a friend of mine named Patrick who attends the University of Oklahoma and I mentioned Damaramu. Apparently, he has been blessing the OU message board with posts similar to what he contributes to this place. I don't actively dislike the guy or anything, and he seems nice enough, but I found that to be amusing. I guess he has to get his opinions off his chest somewhere since he can't post here for the time being.

You're right. She deserves something like that. But despite the fact that I'd love to cut her into little bits and pieces and feed her to our cats, I'm not usually a violent person, much less toward women- regardless of how skanky, bitchy, and thieving they are.

Some friends of mine got it when it first was released. We played a fair amount of multiplayer and that was really fun, but I haven't played the story mode. Everyone seemed to agree, however, that the story mode itself was too linear and frustrating. They said that the CPU would resort to very cheap tactics more often than not. Then again, that happened in No Mercy as well. All in all, it's a fun game and is better than WrestleMania XIX, but seeing as how I own WMXIX I decided to wait before purchasing Day of Reckoning. I'd likely pick it up if I saw it for $35 or less and had some extra cash on me.

I obviously enjoy Ashlee Simpson's music, but I recognize that there are a lot of better musicians out there. I don't typically listen to pop music, but there's just something appealing about "Autobiography." I wasn't duped... I was enchanted. However, you must realize that 80% of the people who bought the CD are teenage girls who (A) like girly pop music and the majority of TRL type stuff and (B) either don't like the bands listed above or have no idea who they are in the first place. Speaking of teenage girls, though... I've been trying to think of a way to get revenge on my little sister for stealing and selling my N64 games. Might as well trade in some of her boy band and Britney CDs for The Ramones and Page/Plant.

Your Gamecube Game of the Year for 2005
Matt Young replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Video Games
Damn... I haven't read the reviews yet, but it got better scores than I expected, even. The Resident Evil series is one of my favorites and I'm really looking forward to this game, but I'm not going to be purchasing it at launch since I have such a large backlog of unfinished games that I've gotten over the past couple months. But you're right. The only thing that can probably top it is Zelda. -
Would someone please be kind enough to post the SD and Velocity match listings? I figured they'd be up by now.

I've slept a grand total of 8 hours all year. Can't help ya there, bub... Smoke some weed or drink some liquor if you're into that sort of thing and you don't have anything important to do today.
