Yeah Agent, that's pretty much what I've been hearing. I never could find any before, but Iw as in central Illinois and you should know how shitty small midwestern areas are. I came into it thinking, "Ya know, I'll bet everyone was being overly hard on her. I'm sure it's not that bad." This time, it's not a disagreement of opinion. She was horrible and that's a fact. I don't know if it was the fact that, with the exception of a few awards shows, she had never performed in front of a large crowd- she usually plays to a few thousand people- or the fact that she was probably scared shitless by being surrounded by all those rabid football fans, but she sucked ass. Maybe it was something in the air seeing as how other people said that the other acts were awful as well. I really think it's unfair, though, how the media automatically assumes that all her performances are like this one and SNL. I have seen her on TV singing live with no backing track and she did just fine. These 2 episodes were the exception, not the norm.

I was flipping through channels and just saw Ashlee performing "Shadow" on Regis a few minutes ago. Did anyone else catch this? I thought she sounded good and I was curious as to what the opinion might be of her performance on that show compared to last night coming from someone who saw both.

That's not at all true. I'd equate myself (not so much now, but when I gave a fuck) along with quite a few other posters to good technical wrstlers who put on good matches night in and night out but never get noticed because there's nothing flashy about them. That was me. I'd make quality posts on a fairly regular basis, but they'd get passed over because I wasn't a "big name" poster. You state your opinions like they are facts. That's what you think? "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" may not even be one of the top 10 songs on the CD (there are 13 total). It doesn't really even fit in with the rest of the record and sounds like something that the record company suggested they add as an MTV/radio friendly first single. That kind of thing happens with many bands. What's the other song you're referring to?

*waves* Personally, I didn't see the performance because I was doing other stuff during the game and didn't realize that she'd be performing. I can't comment on that. As far as her normal live shows go, though, I've heard at least 5 and she always sounds very good (that is, if you consider her a good singer in the first place). She sounds just as good as she does on the album. And no lip-sync jokes. I've heard the album enough to be able tot ell that she wasn't lip-syncing on the non-SNL shows. Really though, like a previous poster stated, I think that she was a horrible choice for halftime entertainment. Most college football fans do not like her type of music at all. I'm a rare exception. They were practically asking the crowd to shit all over the performance. But then again, it's not like the NFL has done much better for their Super Bowl halftime show lately. By the way, what song did she perform? I'm guessing it was either "Autobiography" or "Lala". Probably "Lala" since that's the latest single and its sexually suggestive lyrics, along with Ashlee's penchant for shaking her ass, would satisfy at least some of the aforementioned male dominated crowd.

That depends on my stepdad. He's supposedly looking into broadband providers, but he's a Walgreens manager and works long hours so a lot of the time, things like that slip his mind since he's got more important things to take care of. If he keeps jerking around about it, I'm going to just sign up for Adelphia myself in about 2 weeks, since that's when I'll be able to afford it, and I'll be getting Live immediately. I'd like to be able to ensure that I have a team that I want to play as, but as long as I actually get into the league I'll be happy. However, I do realize that you have to accomodate everyone and that it would be stupid and unfair to hold up proceedings over one person, so do what you have to do.

Agreed on the first point. I've been in California for 2 months (not counting the 3-4 weeks I was here last February) and it's already my favorite state (and I've been to 20-something). It's certainly better than Illinois and the lame ass excuse for a state capital in which I lived. I can't be too mad at Kahran, though, because he's a Packer fan and apparently enjoys anime as well. I just wanted to say that. Hopefully this does not degenerate into an argument about why California does/doesn't suck.

I'm waiting for the premiere of season 2 of The Ashlee Simpson Show. ... Seriously, though- I watched the first couple episodes and enjoyed it, but I haven't watched in quite a while. It's very interesting for me to watch these bands try to make it to the big show since I'm an aspiring rock musician myself. I was especially interested in the band from Riverside, CA, since I live there and could likely get a chance to check them out live. They seemed pretty good, but I can't remember the name. Actually, I'm thinking it was Mantis, but I hope I'm wrong based on the fact that they're gone. I need to check the guide and see if there's another marathon or something before the finale... or was tonight the finale?

I don't know. I'm just going by the Los Angeles TV stations' broadcast area. I've been to LA on a couple occasions, but I wasn't sure exactly how far away it was in miles (can't really go by driving time since that varies drastically depending on time of day and traffic). I went to the Yahoo maps driving directions page and typed in my address and Los Angeles, CA. Here are the results: Starting from: (address removed), Moreno Valley, CA 92557-8606 Arriving at: Los Angeles, CA Save Address Distance: 59.8 miles Approximate Travel Time: 1 hour 1 min I'd say that qualifies as the greater LA area. But really, I'm not the guy that should be trying to explain this, seeing as how I've only been here since November 6th, 2004.

I like the Los Angeles Angels name, especially since LA is known as the "City of Angels". The whole "LAA of Anaheim" thing is silly sounding, but oh well. The LA Clippers have played at Arrowhead Pond in the past and may be moving out of Staples and back to Anaheim soon, but I doubt anyone will suggest that they become the Anaheim Clippers. As far as the TV market thing goes, I am in Riverside county (Moreno Valley, just barely outside the city of Riverside) and all the local channels are Los Angeles and are labeled as LA-11 for Fox, LA-13 for UPN, etc. At any rate, the name isn't all that significant anyway. No matter what they're called, at least I can go see a team that I am somewhat interested in to partially make up for not being able to see the Cubs, White Sox, and Cardinals this upcoming season.

Hmm... I really liked Blitzkrieg and I don't remember him having a title reign. Maybe you only meant that he was pinned, not that he was the champion. I'm 99% sure about the Lane/Psicosis title change, though. I need to find a site with a detailed title history to verify all of this 100%.

I don't recall that, and besides, Kidman was way up the card in 2000. What I do recall (and what you may be thinking of) is that when Lenny Lane was Cruiserweight Champion with the flamboyant/homosexual gimmick, WCW was getting lots of shit for it. Thus, they gave the CW title to Psicosis, who showed up on Nitro with the belt. They declared that he had beaten Lenny at a house show the previous Saturday. Psicosis then proceeded to job the belt that night on Nitro. I'm pretty sure that's accurate or close to it. I totally forgot about the whole ordeal until I read your post.
