    I just realized something.

I have nothing against poker. However, it is NOT a sport, no matter what ESPN says.

    X-Men Legends: Thoughts?

I got the game for Xbox on Saturday afternoon at Best Buy for $35 but didn't get a chance to play it until around midnight. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect since I only regained interest in the X-Men a year ago after not reading the comics since 1995, but I have had no trouble following things thus far (although I haven't played long). I've even aced every trivia question I've tried thus far. I've played for 2 hours and have finished touring the mansion. I did all the Danger Room missions that were available and am now ready to start the 2nd mission. I'm just too tired to do it tonight, though. I had a lot of fun tearing shit up with Wolverine. I literally smashed just about everything that was smashable on that first mission. It was great. However, the mansion tour, while pretty cool, dragged on way too long with too much talking. Maybe I just felt that way since I'm so tired, because normally I love stuff like that. Another thing is that the combat got repetitive after a while, but with the addition of other X-Men aiding in wicked combos and all the characters leveling up to gain more powerful attacks, that shouldn't be a hindrance for long. All in all, the game looks promising and I enjoyed the brief time I spent with it despite those annoyances. I can definitely see myself getting hooked. So much for finishing anything in my backlog of unfinished/unplayed games.

    I just realized something.

I don't know for sure, but I'm not surprised that it's gone. It had its audience, surely, and I was somewhat entertained by it myself, but your average sports fan is going to shit all over it due to the high levels of gimmickry involved- which was ironically the league's main selling point. But you know what- fuck that. If "Extreme Dodgeball" and motherfucking POKER (I know it's a very popular competitive game, but if poker qualifies as a sport, I'd like to turn pro at Mouse Trap) can be plastered all over legitimate sports television stations, Slamball should still be around.

    TV Plug & Play Games

Dames- Do you have a Sega Genesis? If so, there's a Ms. Pac-Man for that system. There's probably a version for a lot of others as well, but I mentioned the Genesis because I have a copy for that system. I enjoy the game, but I rarely play it and will gladly give it to you if you want it. Hell, I'd offer you the Genesis also (if you don't have one) but only one of my 2 units is functional. EDIT: Oops. I somehow missed KKK mentioning the existence of a PS2 version. I had no idea that Namco had released the game for newer systems unless it was part of a compilation. Yeah, I think it was. EDIT 2: Sorry guys. I am just out of it tonight. Sleep deprivation is a bitch. Anyway, it seems that you want to be able to play the game with a joystick, thus making my offer of the Genesis game meaningless (assuming I understood correctly, which is far from guaranteed at this moment). However, the offer is still good.

EMO music: love it, hate it?

Emo is different things to different people. If you're referring to pop-punk or screamo type stuff, I like a lot of it. As far as the pop-punk part of that goes, I mean punk style music that has poppy hooks- I.E. Green Day, my favorite band. I can't stand most songs by Good Charlotte or Simple Plan. Out of the bands you mentioned, I love Taking Back Sunday and I think My Chemical Romance's latest CD is pretty good and the rest of the songs are better than, "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)". I also like some of the softer emo type stuff like Straylight Run. I just always love a well-written emotional song. When I write lyrics, what comes out is usually something involving love, heartbreak, and/or relationships in general, and songs of that style touch on something within that hopeless romantic that lives inside me. I'm sure many people here will disagree with my opinions, but hey- At least it's not Ashlee Simpson. I must add a disclaimer, however- I do not purport to be "emo", I do not dress "emo", and I do enjoy lots of other types of music. None of that probably made any sense, but it's hard to think and type wenn yo'r drubk..... Just kidding. I'm exhausted, but regrettably still sober. No drunk posts tonight. You still get the senseless rambling portion of it, though.
  7. Yes, Christian beat Booker T to regain the IC title at a house show, I believe in Des Moines, Iowa, although how I remember that (assuming it's correct) I do not know. The title change took place in early-mid August for sure because I was up in Canada when I read about it. Bret Hart won his first WWF title from Ric Flair at a house show in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in 1992. Booker T and Chris Benoit traded the TV title on consecutive days at WCW house shows in early May 1998. Booker was the champion and he dropped the belt to Benoit. Benoit lost it the next day, Booker regained it, Benoit won it again, Booker regained it again. Booker lost it to Fit Finlay on Nitro the following day. I'm pretty sure that's how it went down. There are others, including the ones already listed, but that's all that I can recall right now. I'm not counting the WWF Hardcore title since it changed hands 47.3 billion times per second.

    So why?

At least the guy doesn't have an Ashlee Simpson avatar.

    Why the fuck can't a find a PS2?

I've basically given up on the PS2 at the moment. I set a deadline of 1/1/05 for finding one since that's the last day I can get the CD's I want at Best Buy for $10 each as well as X-Men Legends for $35. No stores have any systems in stock and they say they don't know when they'll get any more. If I can't find one tomorrow, which I doubt, I'll be trading in the 5 games I have for $100 store credit to go toward CDs or a GBA. Besides, I have bought around 15 new console games in the past 2 months. I don't even have time for those. Why get more games now? They'll be just as much fun if I play them later. I can spend my money on other stuff. Either that, or with the GBA I can at least play outside, while traveling, etc. and get some old-school 2D goodness. Then again, I change my mind constantly, so who knows what my plan will be tomorrow. I'm just tired of waiting for a PS2 right now. Sorry for rambling.

    Why the fuck can't a find a PS2?

Last week, I took advantage of that Circuit City deal and picked up 6 PS2 games for $30. I've been dying to play them, but guess what I discovered after calling all 12 stores that sell video games in this area? They were sold out. How can they be sold out? A few days previously, I had been in GameCrazy and they had a ton. Besides, doesn't everyoen and their mother already own a PS2? Unless all of theirs broke down... I am deeply saddened. I needs me a PlayStation 2.

    X-Men Legends: Thoughts?

Not exactly. I went to Best Buy and the game was $29.99 only for PS2. Strangely, the GC and Xbox versions are $35 this week. I'm not sure whether to buy it or hope that someone will trade it to me for Deception. Seriously... Send me a new or used copy of X-Men Legends and I'll send you a barely played, near mint Mortal Kombat: Deception Kollector's Edition. You're getting a $60 game for half price at the very worst, and if you've beaten Legends you likely have little use for the game anyway. Legends is the main game I want. I'm only getting rid of MKD because I grew very broed of single player. Multiplayer/Live is excellent.

    What are you losers doing

Eh... All my good friends and drinking buddies are back in Illinois, so I don't have them to celebrate with. I was planning on going to see the 21st Century Doors in Anaheim, but the tickets are $150 (ouch!). Tentative plans as of this moment are to meet up with the small group of friends I do have out here at The Shithole (aka Hot Bisexual Melissa's house) and figure out what we'll be doing from there. We may check out what's going on at the UC-Riverside university village since it's close by. One way or another, though, everyone will either be drunk, stoned, or both. You know, aside from Flag Day, NYE is the best holiday to use as an excuse to get fucked up. No, Mardi Gras is not a holiday.

    Official ESPN 2K5 League Thread

I'd love to join an Xbox league. I don't have broadband yet, but I'm hoping to get it and Live ASAP. The only problem is that I'd have to pick another team like the Titans or Panthers since Vitamin X will be all over Green Bay.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

Thanks to all who responded to my post. I should be finishing Paper Mario 2 tonight, so despite having 3 other RPGs in progress, I'll be starting KOTOR tomorrow most likely. I can't wait after seeing the movies. I'll rejoin the discussion in the KOTOR 4 thread, because by the time that comes out I'll be caught up on the series.

    RAW in Toronto

Security's not that tight. They'll take away "offensive" signs if they get on camera, but otherwise you should be safe. Back at a WCW Thunder taping in 2000, 2 days after the Great American Bash (it was when Bagwell was arrested) I wore my Slapnuts shirt and brough a fucking acoustic guitar to show my support for Jeff Jarrett and they didn't say anything. I know that was WCW, but the WWE security has been even more lax it seems at the 3 events I went to this year.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

I know this topic is about the 2nd game, but my question primarily involves the first. I hope I don't direct the thread too far off-topic. I just got an Xbox 2 months ago and I purchased KOTOR 1 a couple weeks ago for $5 brand new, Platinum Hits. Around the same time, I bought the Star Wars trilogy DVD box set. Prior to the purchase, I had only seen Return of the Jedi in the theater and none of the other movies. Since getting the set, I have watched all 3 once and enjoyed them thoroughly. I have not seen Episodes I & II. I've really been wanting to start KOTOR and I will likely do so once I finish one of the 3 RPGs I am currently working on, if not sooner. Due to my limited Star Wars knowledge, is there anything else I should see or read to help me udnerstand and appreciate the game more? Any sites to check out? I want the full experience. Oh yeah, I almost forgot- Assuming that I ever find time to even finish the game once before I die, is KOTOR 1 worth playing through as both a lightsider and a darksider? Is it very different? How many hours on average does it take to finish the game? OK, that was a lot more than I expected to write. Sorry. I just didn't think this was worth starting a new thread over. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Non-Spoiler Smackdown/Velocity thread

At least the main event looks promising. And hey... Maybe this'll be the night that JBL jobs. Shannon Moore almost beat him for the belt on Velocity that aired the night after my birthday (the show aired July 31). What? It's fake? Uh.... oh. I see. Mmm hmm. Carry on.
  20. Merry Christmas to all! I created this image to include on these crappy virtual greeting cards I was sending out to my friends and family. Seeing as how some of you guys could be included on that list of friends, I decided to post this here. This was originally intended to be a rather elaborate and, dare I say, garish exposition of elaborate pageantry and awe-inspiring visual effects. However, I was regrettably unable to acquire a Santa Claus hat, a few extra strands of Christmas lights to wrap around myself, a fire extinguisher, a 12 year old Palestinian orphan boy, a donkey, and/or a friend who was willing to let me frog splash him off the second story deck as he/she floated in the backyard pool, or even anyone just to pose with me. Thus, you will have to settle for this: I just wanted to try out my new digital camera, and let you all know that you are in my thoughts and my heart this holiday season. Best wishes to you and yours. P.S. Here are links to a few more pics just for shits and giggles since I uploaded them. These are the first pics I've put online since a year and a half ago, so relish your first opportunity in a while to insult my appearance. http://img133.exs.cx/img133/864/20041224image00041hw.jpg (Me forcing a smile and looking stupid as a result.) http://img133.exs.cx/img133/8697/20041224image00050hq.jpg (Me with tired, baggy eyes.) http://img135.exs.cx/img135/5629/hardyboyzgunz0gf.jpg (Me doing the Hardy Boyz' gun hand gesture for all the Matt Young Version 1 marks out there- AKA Agent, MOAV5706, Jake and Michelle, PM Sanders, and Ricky the ref. Christmas Greetings (Images Included)

You guys can do better than this. Come on, now. Agent, you disappoint me the most. I've come to expect better from you. I don't wear all black to "look cool." It just so happens that most of my shirts are black and I happened to be wearing black pants. The shirt, I got at Target. As fara s the beard/age thing goes... I dunno. Some people think I look 16, others say 25. I never get carded for cigarettes and I rarely get carded for booze. I do find great humor in people making fun of my looks, though, considering that even though I am only average-looking, that's better than 90% of internet wrestling fans. I don't know about this board, but just in general. Anyway, continue. I'll comment but I don't take any responses personally, anyway. I'm waiting for Kotz and Tod deKindes to respond...

Nope, it's a face shot. While I'm sitting here stoned, I might as well say that I admire your overindulgence in women, booze, drugs, and good music. You, sir, are a man's man. -------------------------------- I once had just finished jogging in a neighborhood park when I sat down on a bench next to a kindly-looking old black man. He was wearing knickers that were ehld up by suspenders, as well as a chef's hat despite the fact that he wasn't preparing a meal at the time. As I sat down, that old man took one look at me and uttered in a raspy, haggard tone of voice, "Sonny... ain't no shame in shittin' ya' drawers. And fuck anyone who tells ya' any diff'rent."

But I have a 4' x 4' tie-dyed Jim Morrison tapestry on my bedroom wall along with dozens of Doors and Morrison related items in my collection. And I've managed to get laid on a day when I was forced to use Scooby Doo sheets on my bed.

    What Happened to A-train?

Nidia Jazz Gail Kim Rico Chuck Palumbo Shit... I'm drawing a blank here. There were a few more. Someone will fill in the rest, I'm sure. Otherwise, there were several threads about this taht I'm sure you can find rather easily. Oh yeah... welcome back! EDIT: Yeah, Rodney Mack and Test were fired, too, like he said. So we've got 8 total... Is that a complete list?
