Concept shots of PS3/Xbox 2 Madden and NFS

Consider this- These are concept images from (I presume) development kits. The first generation games, once completed, could look even better and by the time we get a couple years into the systems' lifespans they will have figured out how to get the most out of the hardware, thereby improving things further.

Chappelle's Show season 2 DVD info

This is great. I just got the season 1 DVDs, but I had been wondering when season 2 would come out. Season 2 was the better season in my opinion. I have half the episodes on tape, but having them all in condensed DVd format along with those killer extras is going to be awesome. This is going to be a loooooooooong two months...

    NFL Week 13

Atlanta/Tampa is airing out here. I haven't seen either team play this year, so I might as well check out this Michael Vick fellow I've been hearing so much about while waiting for the Packers to shock the Eagles. EDIT: Just went back to page 1 and saw the thing about Green Bay on ESPN Classic. Fuck the Falcons/Bucs game. EDIT 2: God dammit, that was yesterday. I need to pay attention to the post dates. I can't believe I missed it. Falcons/Bucs it is, then.

This Indiscriminate time period in College Hoops

It figures that as soon as I leave Illinois, the Illini get really good. I never much cared for them (Michigan fan here) but it would've been cool to see some good Illini/Wolverines action in Champaign. I went to Champaign every other weekend anyway. I'm very happy to see Wake Forest doing so well. I jumped on the Wake/Tim Duncan bandwagon when I started watching college ball in the mid-90's and I've stayed on as a fan ever since. I hope they fuck Duke up but good. I love Coach K, but I can't stand Duke. I wonder if UC-Riverside is playing anyone good this season. That's the school I'll probably end up going to and it's 5 miles from my house, so I could catch some games. I'm all excited about the season now. I've always preferred the NBA, but this year I am a lot more stoked for NCAA hoops for some reason.

Kotz would like everyone to call him...

I'm usually doing something other than being online when I'm drunk, but sometimes when one is drinking alone and it's late at night, said drunk person needs someone to talk to and share their stupid thoughts with. Like most things that are done while drunk, the individual may very well regret it later, but that's what lowered inhibitions get you.

WWE Raw TV Main Events in 2004

I thought that Benoit-Michaels was overrated and the Iron Man match didn't have the same impact for me since I saw it on tape the next day. Both matches were good, though. My favorite that I saw on TV may have been HHH vs. Shelton Part 1, but my overall favorite was definitely... Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Maven vs. Batista and Ric Fliar November 1st, Peoria, Illinois That was my first ever Raw TV taping after years of house shows.

I would be drunk if I had money. I could use some SoCo right now. It's after 9 A.M. already.

Kotz would like everyone to call him...

I should call just for the simple fact that Spoony is inexplicably freaked out by yours truly. I have free long distance anyway.

This sounds awesome. Hopefully it's 56k friendly. I'm going to try to download it now.

    Resident Evil 4 "review" thoughts

Over at the awesome 1up.com (all real gamers MUST sign up), GMR staff member and EGM contributor James Meilke, who is working on reviewing Resident Evil 4, has posted some thoughts. James's Journal Resident Evil 4 teh greatness Ok, it's not exactly a secret at this point (Mark Macdonald I love you!), but GMR has the exclusive Resident Evil 4 review coming up in our February issue. I've been reviewing the game in slow delicious bites over the past week now, and I have to say, this game redefines the notion of "bloodpumping." I don't want to give too much away (I'm legally obligated to not discuss most things about the plot, but I can chat about the actual gameplay), but I would like to throw out a few tidbits about how great this game turned out. For starters, your character (in this case Leon Kennedy) doesn't control like a tank any more. While the game is still a 3rd-person action game, Leon is viewed from a sort of Sam Fisher-y, Splinter Cell type perspective, that's halfway between a full body shot and Sam's zoomed-in over-the-shoulder shooting mode. I can't tell you how well this works. The controls are tuned to near perfection too, with survival knife attacks activated by holding down the left trigger, and gun attacks performed by holding down the right. A quick 180 degree reversal is done by tapping the red B-button while pulling down on the analog stick. Your view is limited by approximately how much you see in real life, so there's always a tangible sense of fear creeping up your spine as there's always some freaky zombie-esque villager lurking just out of eyeshot. Of course, these aren't actually zombies this time around. I don't even know what they are, but they're not zombies. They move with a pack mentality, and there's almost always more than one of them. They bob and weave and duck your gunshots, and basically make life hard for you. They're not quite as insane as those fireheads from the remake of Resident Evil for GameCube, but they're so realistic looking they'll freak you out nevertheless. I'm also glad they made the save system a lot more considerate to the player. If you should die, you have the option of continuing, which might affect what you unlock towards the end of the game, but for less concerned players, retracing all your steps from the last typewriter isn't a necessity any more. In fact, ribbons are a thing of the past. There's a lot more to the game than I'm letting on, and I'll post more about it tomorrow, cuz I have to get back to the game. I just got myself a sweet new weapon from one of the in-game vendors (Hurray, vendors!) and I wanna go try it out. 12/02/2004 09:18 PM EST Sounds awesome so far. I have loved the Resident Evil series ever since I got RE2 on the N64 about 5 years ago. This new game looks to offer lots of new stuff while still maintaining the great gameplay of the series. I can't wait for more updates. For those wanting to just read the blog, go to http://milkman.1up.com. Also, I will be working on a blog of my own at 1up.com once I get all the stuff on my account set up. That should be fun.

When playing Sports games do you......

Did you actually play enough seasons for all those players to retire or did you sim? I love my sports games, but due to the always-growing list of games I own occupying my time along with the fact that I sadly have to do other stuff not involving games- and the fact that I stop playing a sports title when the new one comes out- I generally never play more than 1-2 seasons even though I mean to. I also only sim for fun since it seems that I can have the highest rated team in the league and still suffer through a horrendous losing season every time.

How do you assholes season your broccoli?

I'm not sure exactly why you're recommending that, but unfortunately I am all out of weed. It's too fucking expensive out here in California. $20 for a gram of nug is not worth it, and no one that I or my sister knows deals with mid-grade shit. I guess I'll go have me a Newport...

How do you assholes season your broccoli?

Haha, why's that? I understand the post in LSD, but this? I am a little weird, but with guys like Incandenza, IDRM, yourself, etc. I am normal by comparison. (That's not meant in a negative way either. Weird is good. As the cheesy $7 Target-bought shirt I'm wearing now says, "Normal people scare me.") As far as the broccoli goes, I thank you all for your suggestions. I had lost interest in consuming the leafy green vegetable, but now I shall smother some in butter and down that for lunch.

How do you assholes season your broccoli?

I've just realized that in the last few weeks, half the fun of posting (along with the fact that it'd been 8 months) has been reading your inevitable replies. You always seem to bring the humor. I salute you, Shutterspeed. As for the broccoli... ah, fuck it. If no one offers any suggestions in the next 20 minutes or so, I'm going for the tuna.

    GoldenEye Rogue Agent

That would be fucking awesome, but since Rare was bought out by Microsoft and EA owns the Bond license, it will never happen.

    New Shopzone Items

I like the ECW shirt. The Flair one could be better, but it easily tops his old blue "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO(plus 500 more O's)" shirt. I might wear it. I'm a mark for Ric Flair and the color purple. Christy Hemme.... aunnnnnnghh *simultaneously has heart attack/orgasm* I mainly posted here to mention something else on WWE.com which doesn't warrant its own thread. Greatest headline ever- "Jesus set for Armageddon"

    New Motley Crue song

I was all excited about this up until you mentioned that one of the songs was written by Simple fucking Plan. Don't get me wrong- I love Canadians and pop-punk. Hell, I used to like Simple Plan when their first album came out. Now I just can't stand them. Simple Plan writing a song for the Crue has to be a sign of the apocalypse.

    Christmas

Eh... Christmas kind of lost the magic around age 14. Once I hit high school, I stopped getting presents to open (money instead), my family cut way back on the decorating, and it became basically a carbon copy of Thanksgiving with the food and family. The only difference was the church visit. This year, after spending about 7 months on my own, I'm back with the family. My mom has decided to go all-out with the decor again but we're in California now rather than Illinois, so with palm trees and sun in place of snow it won't be the same. Christmas is now just a day to eat a lot of food, get a few hundred extra bucks in gifts, and to attend church for one day, get re-motivated to attend, and then never go again til next year.

    Hi, I banned Anglesault

I'll miss him. He may have been a teensy-weensy bit psychotic, but he was entertaining. I understand why he was banned, though. Since someone mentioned him- Choken One got banned, I guess? I kind of missed anything and everything that happened from mid-March through mid-November due to not having internet access.

    Official Spiderman 2 Thread

I saw it twice- once in the theater without my contacts and while I was kind of fucked up after taking Vicodin for my back, and once on the train to California while drinking. The movie seemed great, but I need to see it while sober. I rented the movie last night from Hollywood video. I'll be watching Spider-Man 1 (one of my favorite movies ever) and 2 back to back sometime tonight on the fancy big screen TV. That should be a fun time.
  23. Nooo!!! Too late!!! Oh well... I already blew way too much money on the DDDVD sale.

I loved the EW series so I'll definitely be checking this out. Thanks for the heads-up, Adam.

    Ashlee Simpson NUDE

Heh, I thought of Yuna as well after adding the tags. However, I did not make the tags, I am not a woman, I'm not obsessed with Final Fantasy (although I am quite fond of Stevie Richards' wrestling), and I've been around longer than her.
