I didn't like Vertigo at first, but it's growing on me. My cousin, who has similar tastes in music to mine, said that the album's great. I'll probably purchase it at the $7.99 price point.

I called Wal-Mart last night after hearing that they had it for the same price as Target and they told me that they had some copies. I picked it up for $27.84- well, exactly $30 after tax. If anyone else is planning on buying it, do it now. The regular tag price is $45, so if you get it this week you'll save $15+. I watched the DVD and listened to the first 15 songs (of 23) on disc 1. I'm loving it so far. It's reminding me why I loved Nirvana so much, and it gives me even more incentive to play my guitar again (which I just got back after a year, and haven't played in a year and a half total). You get 81 tracks total on 3 CDs and a DVD, 65 or so of which were previously unreleased. There's also a 60 page full color booklet included. The sound quality ranges from horrible-pretty good, but the actual song/content quality for the most part is top-notch. Question for others who own it- Did the cardboard thing with the track listings on the back fall off your boxes? The cheap ass glue didn't hold it on mine. I tried taping it on, but that didn't work too well either. I finally decided to just scrape the ugly glue off and store the cardboard thing inside the case in the pocket that holds the booklet.

Hey now, Everything or Nothing was a good game. But otherwise, I can't argue with the above statements. I expected this game to be a mediocre cash-in, and by all accounts I have read, it seems to be just that. I was hoping for something decent, though. I may give it a rent sometime since I have 12 free rentals at Hollywood Video from when I bought my Xbox at GameCrazy.

Last night I went to Target in search of the Nirvana box set. They were all out of that, so I decided to peruse the book section. I noticed a copy of the Edge book on the NY Times best seller rack, and despite the fact that I usually wait til books are released in paperback form to buy them due to cost, this one was $18.00 (30% off) so I purchased it. As a longtime fan of Edge (since his Sexton Hardcastle days) I had been really looking forward to this. It was truly a compelling tale which covered his entire life and career from birth through his return and 5th Intercontinental title victory at Vengeance. The book revealed a lot of personal information that surprised me as well as various classic tales of his ascent through the indy ranks alongside Christian, Johnny Swinger, and others. It si true that some of the stories will be familiar if you were a reader of Edge's column on WWE.com- "The Edgeucation of Adam Copeland." However, they are not copied verbatim and are still after a second reading. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to any wrestling fan. Of course, it's a must-buy for an Edge fan such as myself. I could not put it down, and I finished off the 254-page tome in one sitting. Seeing as how Edge wrote it himself rather than with the help of a ghostwriter, his unique sense of humor shone through, and I believe it's second only to Mick Foley's first book in quality as far as the WWE books go, slightly topping the Hardyz' (which I also loved since I mark for Matt and their indy stories were great). I've read both of Foley's books, Rock's, Austin's, Angle's, the Hardyz', and Lita's, so I'd say that's a fair comparison. Definitely check it out if you haven't already.

I see that a topic for the SD/velocity spoilers was posted, so can someone please post the cards?

Nirvana isn't one of my top 5 favorite bands ever like they were when I was in high school, but I still like them and since I have some extra cash, I planned on picking up the set. I went to Target tonight, though, and they were all sold out. I refuse to go elsewhere and pay more seeing as how I only have $42 to my name.

Well Josh, I must clarify a few things. First and foremost, I am not one of those people who thinks Halo 1 and 2 are amongst the greatest games ever. They probably wouldn't even make my top 25, but that's because I've played a lot of great games over the past 18 years, not because I think the Halo franchise isn't good. Also, I just got an Xbox 2 weeks ago. I had played a few games on it before, not a whole lot. The only ones I own are Halo 1 and 2, Splinter Cell, Mortal Kombat Deception, and several sports games. I used to have SVC Chaos, but it sucked balls. The point is that there are many good Xbox games which I have yet to play. As for the games you mentioned, I'm not a big fan of racing games unless they're arcade style ones. Burnout 3 falls into that category, but I have yet to play it. I've heard good things and it looks great. I even considered buying it at one point, but I'm definitely going to rent it first. Tiger Woods '05 is brilliant, I agree. I would have bought that, but with NCAA Football and Top Spin coming with my Xbox and my purchases of ESPN NFL and NBA 2K5, I didn't want another sports game. I love them, but too much would be bad. My friend Jake owns the game, however. We've busted out the 2004 and 2005 editions for Xbox almost every Monday, Thursday, and PPV Sunday before the shows when he has a bunch of people over to watch wrestling. I've never been a golf fan, but the game is amazing. It's a must buy for me when I get Xbox Live. I can't compare it to Halo 2 though seeing as how I've only played single player on Halo and I've only played multi on Tiger. That, and they're 2 drastically different types of games.

I seem to remember that match ending outside the arena with raven pinning Snow after a Raven Effect on a cinderblock. I recall being very excited that 2 of my favorite wrestlers were headlining Raw.

It is indeed a good game. Like the first Halo, it's overrated as one of the "best games ever", but even though it doesn't fall into that elite category, it's one of the best games for the Xbox. For people who don't have Live, I can see why they'd be disappointed after the brief campaign mode (although I haven't been). All in all, it comes down to personal opinion. Personally, I just got an Xbox 2 weeks ago. I purchased Halo 1 knowing it was decent but not expecting it to be as good as it was. I loved it, and I went out and bought the Halo 2 Limited Edition. Still, as a lifelong Nintendo fan, I will definitely buy Metroid Prime 2. I loved the first one, but due to buying too many games and having other stuff to do, I have yet to finish it. I want to complete the original before buying the sequel. I don't understand the whole Halo 2 vs. Metroid Prime 2 deal. I know that wasn't mentioned in this thread, but it seems like everyone loves one and hates the other. Granted, these are mostly fanboys, and comparing titles in the same or similar genres on opposing systems is natural, but those idiots who dismiss one or the other simply because it's not on their favorite system are missing out.
-
The typo in the thread title makes it sound like you're referring to some sort of epidemic caused by Spongebob, sort of like Joe Lieberman's anti-video game idiocy from years ago. Anyway, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I loved the show (especially while high) so I'd like to get baked and see it.

Early this year I acquired a DVD player. The only DVDs I own for it are The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection, Spider-Man, and Austin Powers: Goldmember. I never got any new DVDs because in March I moved out of my parents' house in California and back to Illinois and never got most of my stuff. Now that I have my player back and some extra cash on hand, I plan on taking advantage of deepdiscountdvd.com's 20% off/free shipping deal. However, I have no idea what to get. I like all sorts of movies, but action and comedy are my favorites. I like stuff from all genres, though. I know I'll miss a lot since DDDVD's selection is so massive and my computer is so slow, but here's what I'm considering thus far: Lord of the Rings trilogy Die Hard Trilogy The Shining X-Men and X-2 Eddie Guerrero's DVD Chris Benoit's DVD Mick Foley's DVD Clerks X and the other Kevin Smith movies Chappelle's Show Season 1 The Critic Family Guy seasons 1-3 Various music DVDs Obviously, there is a lot that I'm missing. I know there are many more that I want, but I can't remember them all now. I'm asking all of you for help. I ask that you please help me out here by listing 5 (or more) of your favorite DVDs. This could function both as an aide to my needs as well as just a listing of each poster's favorites. I would truly appreciate any help you can give me.

I loved the San Diego season of The Real World. In fact, it's the first one I ever enjoyed enough to where I watched the whole season. So naturally, I love this guy. Besides, he's an Illinoisan like me. Gotta represent. Just as a side note... I wonder if Jamie from RW:SD still attends UC-Riverside. I'm about 5 miles from the campus and I know people there. I need to get the hookup.

Maybe he wants to fuck her. EDIT: I had said "screw" in an effort to curtail my profanity on TSM, but then I decided I was too far gone to redeem myself. That's a very strong possibility, but he and I still chill without her, so that can't be his sole motivation. But whatever... He's a cool guy who's really into music like I am and he gets me high for free, so if he wants to fuck my sister, let him fuck her. She's a skank anyway.

I don't even know if there are any courses by my house since I just moved here, but I figure that Southern California will have plenty around. Just a random thought- I need to find a place that organizes mini-golf tournaments for adults. If such a thing exists, I will have a great new pastime. I'm going to quit now because it's late and I can't think straight. I can now sleep well knowing that I have inadvertentlycontributed to the ruination of this thread.

I could take you... bitch. No, seriously... Me, you, a gallon of vodka, and 18 holes of mini-golf. Good times would be had by all.

I love miniature golf and golf video games, and the excellence that is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 ahs actually gotten me to watch golf, whereas I always thought it was horribly boring before. I've even considered trying to play, but that's as far as I've gotten. I went to a driving range once years ago and sucked. It's too bad that my dad is halfway across the country, or else he could likely teach me a thing or 2. He was a state championship golfer in his day.

I cut back a lot on smoking in Illinois, although I was still drinking quite a bit. the last 2 weeks I was living there, though, I smoked fairly often. In the week and a half I've been out in Cali, I've smoked 3 times and only spent $5, which was for a dime of nug, which is a great deal anywhere in the world. This dude named Carlos has taken to smoking me and my sister up. It's cool to sit by the pool with it being 75 degrees in mid-November, surrounded by beautiful foliage, and get crazy stoned. I'm remembering how much I love weed. If I didn't have the self control that I do, I'd spend the remaining money I have ($232, which is a lot to me when I'm usually broke or have no extra cash after bills) on some bud and either a new glass bowl or a nice glass bong, both of which are sold in large varieties at every local smoke shop. It's soooo tempting.... The only things stopping me are (1) the inevitable regret after realizing I have no money and nothing (except maybe a decent piece with nothing to smoke out of it) to show for it, (2) the fact that when I'm stoned I'll eat far too much and be very unmotivated, lazy, and antisocial at a time when I need to look for a job and meet new friends, and (3) I'm on 1 year's court supervision for being caught with a great color changing glass piece I bought in Toronto. I just had to pay a $750 fine, and if I'm arrested even once in the next year (for weed or anything else) I'll likely go to jail for a year, which would be quite unpleasant.

You could be a diva. Hopefully this doesn't change the standards for females getting hired. I would hate to think that the 'ol "blond, thin, big tits" criteria is ineffective now. Perish the thought! You always make fun of me for being skinny... (We need a crying smily.) Heh, seriously though... I could somehow acquire all of Bret Hart, Ric Flair, and Chris Benoit's wrestling abilities and add 100 pounds of muscle and I'd still be refused employment due to my height as per this new policy. That's fucked up.

There goes another one of my lifelong dreams. Matt Young: 5'9", 125 pounds.

The topic title says it all. Will TNA be releasing Victory Road on DVD? I assume they will, but I would like to know for sure. I missed the PPV and I was considering trying to acquire a tape of the show, but for the sake of video quality and, more importantly, supporting the company, I would rather purchase an official DVD if one will be released.
-
The same reason so many people attend all the Kiss "farewell" tours... Half the original band members is better than nothing at all.
-
The Doors are one of my 2 favorite bands ever, and Anaheim's closer than LA. if tickets are still on sale and don't go for an ungodly amount of dinero (which they probably will), I'm there.

Thanks for the heads up, DH. I have been wanting to expand my admittedly tiny DVD collection and I have a couple hundred bucks in extra cash at the moment. Since I likely won't have any extra money for another 14 years, I might as well get what I can now. By the way, are you planning on posting any more cheap video game deals? Cheapassgamer.com takes forever to load on my slow PC, and even when it does, I rarely see anything good. Anyway man, thanks again for bringing the money saving content as you often do. My (usually) broke ass is very appreciative.

Metal Slug 3 or Sonic Mega Collection Plus?
Matt Young replied to USC Wuz Robbed!'s topic in Video Games
Has that been released for Xbox? If so, I'm all over that shit. -
I was going to wait on it since there's a lot of otehr stuff I want to buy first, but $16.99 with an RVD action figure is too good to pass up. Do I have to preorder to get the RVD figure?
