I'll definitely be tuning in to ESPN for that game. Although I'm not as big of a baseball fan as I am of basketball and football, I still love the sport and I am looking forward to this season even more so than usual after the incredible 2003 playoffs. There's also this warm, fuzzy feeling I get when spring training begins, because it signals the end of winter and the beginning of many months of warm weather where you can get some friends together, cook some food on the grill, drink some beers, and watch the ballgame. It truly is the American way. I also have a special interest in seeing the Dodgers play, because now that I'm in southern Cali, I won't be able to go to anymore Cardinals, Cubs, or White Sox games, so I'll have to get used to the Angels and the Dodgers since they both play close by.

That post was very helpful to me. I have played the PS2 demo of this game and was very impressed to the point where I considered picking up the GameCube version (the only system I have that the game was released for) but I was still skeptical. The newer Bond games have been good, but not something I'd pay $50 for. I've had GoldenEye since September 1997, and no Bond game has surpassed that for me yet, although I do think that GE's pseudo-sequel Perfect Dark was far superior. Your post, along with some otehrs in this thread, has gotten me interested in the game again. I plan on renting it the first chance I get, and if the rest of the game stacks up to the quality of the demo level, it'll probably be my next GC purchase. *Runs off to GameFAQs to read reviews*

I'm a big fan of John Carpernter's Escape movies, and after reading this post, having just watched Escape from L.A. once again where the film ends with Snake lighting up an American Spirit, I have come to the conclusion that I need to try some of those. Newports are great, but I might as well add a little variety. Besides, Newports aren't the super strong uber cigarettes that most of the pussies I know make them out to be. I've only smoked for, well, not even a year, and 75% of long time smokers I know find Newports to be "too strong". Of course, the other 25% smoke them 24/7, but the majorit are still pussies. What was my original point again?

I've been a huge 311 fan since 1995, and even though I prefer their older material, "Love Song" is a very good, faithful cover. I was kind of iffy on it at first, but I really like it now.
-
In my opinion, there's a world of difference between GPC's and plain old Marlboros. Although I started out with reds, I don't care much for Marlboros anymore since Newports are far superior. However, I don't mind them. GPC's, on the other hand, are disgusting. I can't comment on regulars, but my mom smokes GPC lights and they taste like rancid ass.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. Better luck next year Lance I second that. I was actually halfway optimistic that he'd make the card since the Dudleyz have been jobbed out lately, but it's not like Storm and Venis have afred any better. I feel abdly for Lance, because he's been genuinely nice to me in our AIM conversations and on his comment board, and he even has e-mailed me to wish me a happy birthday. he's a hell of a wrestler and he deserves a spot on the card. I guess now he's 0 for 3. Maybe he'll at least get a spot on Heat again. They ran on angle on Heat yesterday where he botched interference in the Stevie/Test match, so maybe they'll throw those guys into a match and maybe even add in Matt Hardy since Test booted him on Raw. Those guys deserve a WrestleMania payday. - Matt Young, TSM's #1 Storm Trooper and Mattitude Follower.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't expect continuity anyway. I just saw the heat spoiler thread after making my last post, and I am saddened.

I actually like cade and Jindrak. I've been a Jindrak fan ever since he debuted alongside Sean O'Haire in WCW. However, it would've been nice to see both Jindrak/Cade and Hurricane/Rosey on the card. I've always beena big fan of Helms as well (evend ressed up as him to attend a WWF show once) and he deserves a spot on the show. Does anyone know who won the Dudleyz vs. Storm/Venis match on the Heat tapings? I have a feeling that the Dudleyz won, but then again, they have eben jobbing on Heat eevr since dropping the straps, so who knows. I'm just dying to see Lance Storm make the WrestleMania card rather than be stuck on Heat for a third consecutive year. They should have just done a 6 team gauntlet or elimination match like at Armageddon where they could have included all 4 teams I have mentioned. On a somewhat related note, is anyone else annoyed that they haven't mentioned the fact that Storm and Venis were tag team champs around this time last year?

Sadly, Newsted has already left Ozzy and broken up the dream team of himself and Zakk Wylde. It would be pretty fucking awesome if he joined Megadeth, though.

Speaking of, Billy Gunn hit Brock w/ a Diamond Cutter on this past SD. I'm surprised they let him use it, considering it was just another move in the match, while Golden Boy Orton uses it as his finisher. He was using it even before his latest injury, back when he had returned from rotator cuff surgery and was paired with Torrie. I always wondered why they'd let him use it as a non-finisher when Orton's RKO was being put over as a match ending maneuver.

I didn't become a fan of WCW until 1997, but based on tapes, Austin was about as over as one can get while being a tag team/midcard attraction. He was a smug, cocky heel (most of the time) with a great look and a sadistic streak, and the fans were always into him in every match or promo I've seen. He wasn't a main eventer for the most part because Ric Flair's plans to put him over and send him to the next level were squashed, not because he wasn't capable or getting a good enough reaction. As for Orton, I'm a fan of his. He's not a favorite of mine and he's certainly no Cena, but he is above average in the ring (which is mroe than you can say for quite a few WWE Superstars) and is usually fairly entertaining. He's getting over slowly but surely and is getting heat whether you will admit it or not. To those that say he is not ready for the Intercontinental Title- titles are designed to get people over. The Rock got the same treatment with the same belt early in his career. The only major thing they are doing wrong is not building his feuds around the belt.

I'm from the central Illinois area, so I grew up watching Chicago and St. Louis sports teams. My entrie family is full of Cubs fans, actually. Strangely enough, however, my hoemtown fandom only applies to baseball and pro basketball. NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves (liked them before they were good), Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers (liked them before they got Shaq and started winning again. Now theyr'e my new hometown team.) MLB: Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees (I staretd watching baseball during the '96 playoffs- of course I became a Yankee fan.) NFL: Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers (fan since '95) NHL: I hardly ever watch hockey, but I've had an affinity for the New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues since I saw Gretzky play for both teams. Also, St. Louis was the "hometown team" for me, and the Junior Blues played in Springfield, IL, where I grew up. NCAA Football: Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma Sooners (My best friend's family was from OK and I grew up watching Sooner games.) NCAA Basketball: Michigan Wolverines, Wake Forest Deamon Deacons (Ever since losing weight last year, I've been able to fit into my Tim Duncan Wake jersey from 7th grade, heh) Arena League Football: Los Angeles Avengers I think that covers it all.

I need to hurry up and turn 21 or (preferably) finally get around to acquiring a fake ID. Being a drunk's kind of expensive, and this could do wonders for my wallet.

The Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee
Matt Young replied to Karnage's topic in Television & Film
I figured it would suck ass, but I ended up watching it when it came on after The Simpsons, solely because I mark for Alice Cooper, Sherman Hemsley, and my older, shorter, more famous twin, David Faustino. Sadly, they were amongst the first eliminated. I ended up watching the whole thing because I got hooked on beating the actual contestants just like I attempt to do (and usually succeed at) while watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. I couldn't believe how stupid some of those people were. I spelled at least 90% of the words correctly and could have done so years ago when I was running off a streak of winning 5 straight Christian Elementary School Spelling Bees (every year of eligibility). </touting spelling skills that far exceed the celebrities on the show> Regardless, it was fun to watch and play along. -
A friend's parents bought me War Gods for Christmas one year. I knew there was an N64 game under the wrapping paper because of the shape, but I expected something better than War Gods. The friend whose parents bought me the game alreadfy owned a copy, and I despised it. I almost felt like crying, and I was like 13. Luckily, KMart was ignorant with their exchange policy back then, and I exchanged the )opened) game for something much better, a tactic which no store would allow in this day and age. I later acquired a used copy of the game just because it was only $4 and I am always trying to expand my collection of games (numbering 200+, 30+ for N64 which is good considering my near-terminal unemployment).

The last remnants of good country music died along with Johnny Cash. I pretty much have always hated most country (although I do like southern rock bands like the Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd), but Cash, along with most of the artists you mentioned, were really good. Sadly, I doubt we'll ever see anything like them again, at least not in the mainstream.

It's true, TSM. I, Matthew Robert Young, am 19 years old and turning 20 in July. Ever since I saw the rhythmic gymnastics episode of Lizzie McGuire 3 years ago, I have been a hardcore fan of the show and Hilary Duff in general. I have seen every episode of Lizzie McGuire at least 3 times, most more than that. I have the movie on tape. I don't own her CD seeing as how I never have any extra cash for CDs, and there are tons that I want more than that one, but I have heard every track. I have all her music videos (including the Christmas one from Disney) on tape along with her 16th birthday bash/concert. I even own a Hilary Duff (not Lizzie McGuire themed, just Hilary Duff) calendar which I used for questionable activities on one sad, drunken occasion. I have played the Lizzie McGuire dress up game on Disney.com and I briefly used a Lizzie McGuire desktop theme for my PC. I just had to get that all out. Lately, I've been dreaming about her. The dreams are very strange and vivid, as most of myd reams are. My dreams are like very detailed movies that you have to be on acid to understand. But the point is, they've involved her lately, and I feel dirty.

I may be the world's biggest adult Hilary Duff fan
Matt Young replied to Matt Young's topic in No Holds Barred
She turned 16 on September 28th. Razazteca- Cadet Kelly was a Disney made for TV movie. I don't think it's coming to DVD. -
I think that was Spring Stampede 1997. It seems like it happened earlier than that, but I'm 99% sure it was Spring Stampede and I know it was after the nWo formed. Harlem Heat, Lex Luger, and The Giant I believe were in a 4 way #1 contender's match for a shot at Hogan's title, and Booker ended a pre-match promo with a line like, "Hulk Hogan, we comin' for ya, nigga!"

Punk and Teddy kick each other's asses legit
Matt Young replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
I like what I've seen of Hart in the ring, but he seems like the punk rather than CM. -
Jim Morrison had it down to a sweet science. Indeed... he was the king. I actually kind of like Puddle of Mudd, and I've been known to perform at gigs while intoxicated in the past, but come on, Wes- have some common sense. I mean, if you're going to get plastered, why do it right ebfore a show? It's fine to have some drinks to ease your nerves and loosen up, but stop before you get to the point where you can no longer perform. Even if they gave the fans refunds for that shit (which they should have), there's no way to make up for the wasted time and the experience they could have had if the show went well.

What the hell? I posted a thread requesting these last night, right after spoilers were posted, and it was deleted. Oh well... This looks like a pretty "bleh" show, and I'm usually fairly optimistic. Of course, it could turn out to be good. I'll still be watching, as usual.

It's already over $2 out here by Anaheim and Los Angeles. With the way traffic moves, I can't see how anyone can afford to drive. I'm kind of glad I don't have a car right now...

Victoria talks about the outfit she wore on Raw
Matt Young replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in TSM Classic Threads
Dammit, Josh... Why'd you have to start that discussion? I'm an admitted video game geek and recently relapsed comic book geek, but good Lord... Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire: The Masquerade, and all such games I have encountered are the gayest thing ever. Last year, I actually dated a girl who was involved with the shit. The relationship only lasted a week and a half before I broke it off, but damn! I had the "privilege" of going to a game session that was held at a local university, and there were around 200 of those losers there playing the game. I felt like the world's biggest tool for being suckered into going. I actually somewhat enjoyed cerating a character because it was kind of like a video game RPG, but after that was done, it took me maybe a half hour before I got my ass out of there. I sat outside in the freezing cold for a couple hours just to avoid all that. The worst thing is, the girl's entire family and a alrge group of friends actually spends their Friday nights playing those games, most of the time in the living room of their trailer. Sadly, the preceding story is 100% true. That was my first "rebound relationship" after losing the woman of my dreams, and holy shit, do I regret that. On a much happier note, I have loved Victoria's "cheeky" costumes as of late. She's actually been wearing pretty revealing outifits on Heat for a while now. She's definitely one of my favorite WWE Divas, although I slightly prefer Molly. What can I say? I'm an ass man. Kind of like Billy Gunn, but straight. Oh, and the people writing the stories in this thread have made me laugh my ass off. -
Although this will only serve to drag this thread further off-topic, I watched my first A-Team episode last week when a local LA station showed an episode with HULK HOGAN. He actually played WWF Champion Hulk Hogan, but also was supposedly Mr. T/B.A. Baracus' Vietnam War buddy. The sight of 1985 era Hulk Hogan and Mr. T arguing about who saved who's life in 'Nam was hysterical. Also, Hogan was as egotistical and self serving as he always was. But yeah... That was my first time seeing the show, and I actually found it incredibly entertaining in a cheesy sort of way. Back on topic (somewhat)- I'd officially mark out seeing B.A. Baracus chasing Osama in the same style as cartman on South Park. EDIT: Back off topic... Verne, as a Timberwolves fan since 1995, I must commend you on your NBA team preference. *Shows love*
