Same here. If California girls really are like that, especially here in the Los Angeles/Long Beach/Anaheim area, I swear to God I'll never have a reason to leave. I like 'em young, too... Although generally not that young, but I can make exceptions.

I just hit the mother load. I scored NINE GameCube games that would make any of my fellow hardcore gamers ejaculate multiple times. Here's the list: Sonic Heroes Skies of Arcadia: Legends Soul Calibur II NCAA Football 2004 Viewtiful Joe Super Mario Sunshine Metroid Prime Mario Party 5 WWE WrestleMania XIX I've been playing them each night after getting home, but I didn't find my memory card until today thanks to the movers not being able to organize anything. Now that I can actually save my progress, I'll be busy for a long time. Between all these games, reading The Shining, watching the Ric Flair DVD Collection, and trying to meet people and all that out here in Cali, I'll never run out of things to occupy my time.

A few days ago, I made a decision. Some of you know about how badly the last year of my life has gone from reading my previous posts in LSD, and after doing a lot of thinking, I decided it's time for a change. After living in central Illinois for my entire life, nearly 2 decades... I'm leaving. I've decided to accompany my family to Southern California. I'll be moving to Moreno Valley, which is right near Riverside (where one of my best online friends of 3 years- LJSexay, who posts here sometimes- goes to school. At least I'll have a friend there) and is around an hour's drive from LA, Long Beach (where my stepdad now works) and Anaheim. We have a sweet new $250,000 house with a pool and 2 jucuzzis, which will suit me nicely until I can move out on my own. I really think it'd do me a world of good right now, and besides, if I don't like it, I can always come back at any time. I'll be leaving my girlfriend Kate, some other good friends, and wrestling (although I can train someplace there anyway), but otherwise, there's not much reason to stay here. The movers are coming out here in a few hours, and for the next week, I'll be staying at my grandma's house in Springfield. Thus, I won't have any net access, but I should be able to get online once or twice at my cousin's house. We'll be flying out on Monday morning to LA, and soon after, I should be back online. If I don't get a chance to get online beforehand, I'll see you all then. Wish me luck... or don't. It's time to enter a new chapter of my life, and for the first time in a while, I have hope for the future.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I don't have much time, but I'd like to make a few comments. It was really hard saying goodbye to my friends, but after 12 long hours of travel, I arrived at LAX around 12:30 AM Pacific time last night/this morning. I was so excited... I don't know what it was exactly, but I just felt right at home. I feel like I have a new lease on life, like I'm starting over with a clean slate, and I have an opportunity to make all my dreams come true. I love it here- the people, the area, the weather- all seem wonderful thus far. I feel so at peace with the world sitting by my pool looking out at the mountains. It's beautiful, and it gives me an appreciation for life and desire to live, two things I haven't had a strong sense of for a while. Oh, and to Plushy Al- Yes, I plan on attending Riverside Community College either in the summer or the fall. I'd like to check out UC-Riverside and maybe transfer there after a couple years, but that's a ways off. I'll hopefully get to check out the campus soon though, because I plan on meeting LJSexay as soon as his schedule allows, and I'd damn sure love to go to a party or 2 out there this weekend and meet some more people. Anyway, I have to sign off, but I should ahve my own computer up and running within a day or two and will be back to posting normally (which hopefully will be more enjoyable for you guys to read than my depressed rants of the recent past). Thanks again to all you guys for your encouragement and comments in general. EDIT: And that's #500... nifty.

I'll be pretty far away from Mike, but where is Jobber of the Week from? I think Sweet N Sexy Diva's from San Diego... But there has to be a decent amount of smarks in the SoCal area. And hooray... The movers are here.

I love watching AAA and CMLL on Galavision. I'm moving to Southern California next week, so I was wondering- Are there any lucha shows in places like Tijuana (which wouldn't be too far), or would I have to go to Mexico City?

Raw January 18, 1993 Marty Jannetty def. Glen Ruth Isn't Glen Ruth also known as Headbanger Thrasher, or is it a different guy? Also, why the hell was a World title change the opener on that Nitro, while Hogan vs. OMG was the main event? On a side note, Bored, I'd like to thank you for all your results threads. I read them every day, and I love being able to look back and remember so many matches I had long since forgotten. On another side note, before I had net access, I actually used to write detailed results of Raw, Nitro, and Thunder (didn't have UPN for Smackdown til after the brand extension) in a big ass notebook, which I still have.

As long as the board is around, I know I'll be here. It's one of the few places where I can come and read the opinions of mostly mature, intelligent individuals, as well as share my own, on a variety of topics from wrestling to women, video games to music, sports, etc. In short, all my favorite things. I think the main guys at least (although here, that group is rather large) will stay together. Most forums tend to have that. For example, I used to be a regular at the WrestlingGames.com boards while they were up. There were thousands of users, but after the place shut down, myself and probably 100 or so other prominent posters have stuck together at a couple boards run by former WG posters. We're like a family, and I've even traveled to meet several of the guys in person. That's why I see myself staying around here, and I imagine most others will as well. There's just a certain magic about this board that you can't find anywhere else.

Actually, it'd kind of be a step down for Spike seeing as how he's actually had some success in the past against bigger guys. However, I always thought this move should be made, so it should be interesting. I still don't like Spike, though, and you're right- He doesn't do many cruiser type moves, so I don't know if he'll fit in. I just really hope they don't give him the belt simply because he's more over than most of the other wrestlers vying for it (which is only because he's been pushed and they haven't).

Aside from my cousin The Bad Guy, and others like ljsexay, Coffey, etc. that I have known for years from other places, Downhome has always been my favorite poster here. I can relate to him. He's optimistic about wrestling and loves the WWE product like I do, which is a rarity around here. He also hooks us up with sweet video game sales and loves the Dreamcast like I do. I feel like I know him even though I've never spoken to him.

Although I'm not a big fan of Mudvayne, I think they are above average live. I saw them play once in Peoria, Illinois (the city they originated from) a few years ago and they were at least energetic and into the performance.

^^^^ Agreed. I'm just glad that one of my three favorite teams, the Panthers, made it in. They beat those choke artist Eagles, who in turn had beaten my #1 team- Green Bay, and hopefully they will now topple the team who beat my 2nd favorite club, Tennessee.

I always just used my real name at message boards. I never felt the need to think of some clever gimmick name, partly because I'm very up front and honest about my personal life online when I feel the need to discuss it. At some boards, I go by "Matt Young Version 1", but that's about the extent of it.

Does anyone else find humor in the fact that in a situation involving apprehending streakers, the police officer quoted in the article was named Dick Cottam? (The dick part is self explanatory, but I'm assuming "Cottam=Caught 'em")

Matt Young's Pro Wrestling Training Diary
Matt Young replied to Matt Young's topic in General Wrestling
Alright, here goes. First, here is some information about the school/wrestling promotion as well as my personal bio/stats. School/Promotion: New Midwest Wrestling Location: Springfield, Illinois, USA Website: http://www.newmidwest.com My Name: Matt Young My Age: 19 (born 7/30/84) My Height: 5'8" I'll be keeping track of my weight on a weekly basis. I'll weigh myself each weekend since that's how I've been doing things for months now. My Weight (as of 1/11/04): 125 pounds I'll refer to all the trainers/wrestlers, referees, and managers/valets by their gimmick names rather than their real names since it'll make more sense to you guys and so that you may check out their profile(s) on the site if you wish. Day 1- Wednesday, January 14th, 2004 I walked through the back doors of the USA Sports Center at approximately 6:30 P.M. CST alongside my friend Nick. Nick's a guy that I met at a party in October 2002 when I first trained with NMW (which lasted maybe a month) and after discovering that he was a wrestling fan, I got him to start attending shows. He just began training in late December and has about 4 sessions under his belt. I was very nervous that night. Although I am friends with nearly everyone in the promotion, I hadn't been in the ring for over a year. I got myself in far better shape this time around compared to what I was back then (I was 168 pounds last time around), but I would essentially be starting over again from scratch, so I was very worried about my performance and how my back problems (2 bulging discs) would affect me. After making my initial payment and filling out the required forms and waiver, I sat down and started lacing up my wrestling shoes. There were very few people there that night, all guys that I knew- Rip Mystic, who has been unable to compete due to a back injury, and Michael Shard, who lost a loser leaves town match in November and will be leaving for Canada soon, were the only trainers present. Rip had recently gotten clearance to do ring work, but nothing high risk such as flying maneuvers. Other wrestlers who were present were Jason Wells, Bradley Stephens, Steven Bishop, Eric Logan, "Tricky" Dick Moore, JJ Tank (who incidentally started his training the same day I signed up the last time) and finally, Ricky the ref. First, they had me get in the ring and do some back bumps. I was a little rusty, but I pulled them off well enough. After the first couple tries, I had them down. I was making a good, even noise that was fairly loud considering my (lack of) weight. My forearms are pretty bruised up though from slapping against the mat to make that noise. Shard's a bump nazi, so he took great pleasure in making me do back bump after back bump, getting up quickly and facing a different side of the ring each time. I didn't mind, because they don't hurt too badly, but the force with which I was doing them had me winded after a few minutes. I need to get in better shape. I did even more back bumps until they finally had me take a short break. Next up were some simple somersaults. Well, simple for anyone else... I, on the other hand, was always the fat kid and never learned those in kindergarten. I could do one just fine, but the 2 in a row (a'la RVD's rolling thunder) gave me problems. Those shouldn't be too hard to get down, though. Next, I tried a "no hands" somersault, kind of like a rolling dive. My hands/wrists kept hitting the mat as I tried them, even though I tried to keep them from doing so. My wrists are still sore as hell. After a few more back bumps thrown in for good measure, I was sent out to the crash pad to practice front flip bumps. I was nervous because last time around, the front flip bumps were what hurt my back. However, I pulled them off reasonably well on the crash pad and then went to try a couple in the ring. Thankfully, I didn't land on my head, but I couldn't get a complete flip going and as a result, my feet didn't hit at the same time as my back, which I need to work on. Following that, everyone left the ring so that Tricky Dick and Bradley Stephens could have a practice match. We all watched to study their movements and the way they bumped, and it was pretty entertaining as well as educational. The match finished with Moore hitting a "Roll the Dice/Test Drive/Last Rites" variation on Stephens for the 1-2-3. Rip commented that they "need to find some way to do that off the top rope". He's fucking crazy, but he knows what he's doing, so maybe we'll see that soon. After the practice match, Rip noted that they had messed up a back body drop attempt and that they should practice the move on the crash pad. He showed everyone the proper method for executing the move- the victim runs up, does a little hop when he reaches the man performing the move, and then the recipient posts his hands on the giver's shoulders, leaps as he is lifted up at the knees, pushes up off the other guy's shoulders, and then tucks his head and takes the bump. We all took turns trying them, and even though Rip said that the move was way ahead of where Nick and I were at in our training, he let us try taking a few. Nick couldn't get it down, but I managed to do pretty well. Since we were on the crash pad, it didn't hurt and was actually quite fun. After all that, we sat around and talked for a bit. It was approaching 8:30 and most of the guys were getting ready to leave, so Nick, Ricky, and I headed to the weight room where Michael Shard was already finishing his routine. I hadn't worked out in a year with the exception of 1 or 2 times in Canada, so I couldn't lift much. I did 2 sets each on the bench press, standing curls, leg extensions, and the squat machine. I felt pretty good afterwards. With our workout completed, Nick and I headed back to his house where we got something to eat and watched Survivor Series 2001 on DVD (my first time seeing it) before crashing. Thus concludes day 1 of my diary. Sorry it took me a couple days to put up. I should have part 2 later today or tomorrow, and it will be shorter. Today (Friday) is my day off, so after that I'll be all caught up. Feel free to offer feedback regarding my experiences, format, or anything else. -
Legal action taken vs. major indy promoter...
Matt Young replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
I haven't read the article yet (although I will do so tomorrow when I have more time), but at my wrestling school, we all have to sign a waiver removing all liability from the school and its personnel for any injury, whether it be temporary, permanent, or even fatal. I doubt this case will make it far unless something seriously fucked up occured. I guess I need to read the article... -
2004 was going just fine until a few days ago. I already posted about it in LSD and get lambasted by most, so no need to rewrite it all here. I start wrestling tonight though, so things are looking up slightly. Hell, I doubt anything can be worse than 2003. The first 2 months were great, but the last 10 were the worst of my life. 2004 has to be an improvement. As for the rest of you, I hope things get better soon, especially those with health and family issues. That's serious stuff.

From 411mania.com: R&B group B2K has broken up after six years together. "We've had a great run together making hit songs, albums and now movies," the group's manager, Chris Stokes, says in a statement. "The kids are growing up and are interested in pursing their own careers. I have enormous respect for each of them, and I wish them success in their pursuit of their individual careers. B2K was an extremely talented singing group that will surely be missed." The group's latest album, B2K, has sold 891,000 copies since being released last year. The group's biggest hit was 2003's Bump Bump Bump which featured P. Diddy. -------------------------------------------------------------- All I have to say is... Thank God! I hated B2K's music with a passion. They were quite possibly the worst group ever, far worse than any other boy band (That's what they were, like it or not).

Despite being the capital of Illinois, nothing cool ever happens in my hometown of Springfield, Illinois. That will change as of January 17th. Check out this little tidbit from WrestleCrap.com: In related news, I will be doing the first ever WrestleCrap book signing at the Barnes & Noble at 3111 S. Veterans Parkway in Springfield, IL, on Saturday, January 17 starting at 3pm. Hope a lot of you can make it! I know this won't matter to 99.9% of you, but I had to share my excitement. I love WrestleCrap. When I first found the site, I read every entry on it in one night. I just couldn't stop. I've been meaning to get the book, but all my money has gone to other things. Now, I'll actually get a chance to meet RD Reynolds. I am totally marking out for this news.

Just picked up Eternal Darkness...
Matt Young replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in Video Games
I almost got this game with my credit at GameCrazy a few weeks ago, but chose Resident Evil Remake instead. I love that game, and RE2 and Code Veronica are 2 of my top 10 favorite games ever, so I'm guessing Eternal Darkness would be a worthwhile purchase for the $15 they charge for it. Would I be correct in that assumption? -
Well, there go my hopes for a Packers/Titans Super Bowl. Oh well... My other team, the Panthers, are still in after a great game versus the Rams, and I get the pleasure of seeing all the Rams fans around here (I'm 2 hours away from STL) weeping over their team once again choking in the playoffs.

Two words: Get Real. It's too late to give it another run since it aired over 4 years ago, but this Fox show was one of my all time favorites. There were 22 episodes, and I demand they release it on DVD. It's too awesome not to be distributed.

Tasty Travis Lee wrestled her for NMW (New Midwest Wrestling-www.newmidwest.com) about a year and a half ago. He only came in for one match, an NMW Championship bout against Rip Mystic, but I do believe that he worked here a few years ago when NMW was known as the Midwest Wrestling Alliance. I was not aware of the organization at that time, however, so I can't be completely certain. He seemed like a nice enough guy and a decent worker, but his tight hot pink trunks (stuffed for added effect) kind of creeped me out. I'm pretty sure he went to California to puruse acting, but I'll see if I can get some more information for you on him. In the meantime, please feel free to check out the NMW site. They're really a great promotion, and in my opinion put on better matches than you'll see on most WWE programming. You can also download videos of their matches at www.clickwrestle.com. Besides, I'll be training there in less than a week- I have to push the product.

I can't give you exact dates or anything, but both happened on Raw, in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Sometime in the fall of 2002, I believe around the time Storm and Christian lost the Tag Team Titles, both of them jobbed to Randy Orton in back to back matches on Raw. That was the same show on which Orton injured himself. As for being humiliated by Stone Cold, who could forget the entire "boring" angle where he was ridiculed by the fans and Austin alike and forced to job to Garrison Cade? That angle was what led him to team up with Goldust (and now Val Venis) and start dancing.

He's already accomplished #2 and 3, clean rob. But yeah, that was another interesteing commentary from Lance. he's a really good guy. I've actually had about a dozen of my questions answered on his comment board, and he's also e-mailed me to wish me a happy birthday as well as talked to me on AIM.
