Is it a good idea for a white English American....
Matt Young replied to a topic in General Wrestling
There are 2 white guys who compete here in New Midwest Wrestling as luchadores... El Pollo Loco and El Diablo Silverado. I don't see the problem with it. -
Lately I've been trying to find a job where I can work at home and still make enough money to support myself. The first thing I tried didn't work out, so I was wondeirng if any of you work from home, what you do, and if you could give advice on how to obtain such a job?

I have no car, I'm not a morning person, and pretty much everything you listed. I can't properly motivate myself before noon. The fact that I'm an insomniac doesn't help. So while I would have problems getting up, getting ready, and getting to work (which takes longer with no car, obviously), it wouldn't be that big of a deal if I didn't have to do much more than roll out of bed.

Hmm... interesting. Thanks for the replies. The ad I replied to in the paper was a scam, but I only lost $25 for "shipping costs and materials" so it's not a big deal. I was looking for legitimate employment, but believe me, I have considered selling drugs. Well, not drugs, just one. Marijuana. I have some great seeds I got from Canada when I was up there, and I know a lot of people who want weed. The stuff these seeds are from is better than anything here. Usually, people charge $50 an eighth for the best bud around here, so if I grew this stuff which is far superior and sold it for slightly less, I could make a killing. I may just do that... The only problem is that this is a small town (Springfield, despite being the capital, only contains 111,000 people) so that may limit my opportunities. Hell, if anyone has any tips, feel free to aid me in my life of crime. From honor student to drug dealer... ha, my teachers would be so proud. Anyway, if anyone has any recommendations for legitimate work at home jobs, let me know.

Man Trudel, I didn't know you reffed. I'll have to head up to Quebec to work a match one day so you can officiate.

There are maybe 1 or 2 guys smaller than me if that, but otherwise I'm the smallest at 5'8" and 135 pounds. I'm also the youngest too, as most of the others are in their mid-late 20's. Everyone there is great and the shows are amazing. The guys definitely have talent. They usually turn out new wrestelrs in around 6 months. They even have a gymnastics expert to train you for high flying moves. On the first day or 2, you just take basic bumps and learn to run the ropes, soon moving up to front flip bumps and simple drills like clotheslines (giving and receiving), hiptosses, backdrops, etc. until you graduate to more advanced moves. They also take the guys out to run every other day. Training is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights, with private training by appointment on Fridays and Saturdays. I'm actually not going there at the moment. I stopped being able to afford it, and I'm looking for a job now, although I don't know if I'll even be able to stay here. Anyway, if you want to check out their website, head to www.newmidwest.com.

I'd like too see Hogan put someone over in a "retirement" match at WMXX, but TNA needs him more right now. But hey, with Hogan and Vince, never say never. Besides, this was reported by 1Bob, so take it with a grain of salt.

It's OK. Six months from now people will be saying who the fuck was Ataris? Tha Ataris have been around for something like 8-9 years and have put out some great albums. They're not some new band; They just happened to take a while to get noticed by the mainstream.

Most schools charge $3,000, so if you trust your trainers and feel like you are getting trained well, that's defintiely worth it. It's hard to find a good, cheap deal, although I have as well- New Midwest Wrestling. Awesome guys, great talent, $50 per month.

The Cobra Bite, Rougeau Retires, No Mercy 01
Matt Young replied to cawthon777's topic in The WWE Folder
Yeah, I seem to recall him jobbing as Tajiri Yoshihiro in the tournament on Raw in '97. Man, I wish I would've had a car in 2001 so I could've made the 2 hour trip to No Mercy. I've never been to a PPV. -
I was wondering if anyone has tried this. It's supposed to be for a "limited time", and you can get a large for $10.99 which isn't too bad. It combines several of my favorite foods. Pizza's always been my favorite, and this one has barbecued chicken, onions, and bacon on it. Sounds delicious... I may try one tonight. I wanted to get others' opinions on it, but more than likely I'll end up getting it and no one will have responded. I'll post later with my opinions if I pick one up. It totally goes against my diet... but hey, one day of indulgence couldn't hurt too much.

Despite listening to quite a bit of classic rock, I don't recall eevr hearing the original version of this song. I do really like Limp Bizkit's version, though. It's one of my favorite songs of the year. I can really relate to the lyrics. So if Limp's version is this good, the original must be even better.

I know him from somewhere... Hey, wasn't he the wrestler in Beyond the Mat who worked for either UPW or APW and threatened to toss a fan over the balcony, then challenged him to a parking lot flight? They also mentioned that the guy (whether it was him or not) worked as a mechanic for an airline.

I for one loved this thread and I read ALL the classic results trheads... WWF ones by cawthon, as well as the Nitro/Thunder ones in General Wrestling. This thread made me remember how many good PPV's I missed that were so close (St. Louis- 2 hours, Chicago- 4). Damn.

It made me feel pretty bloated as well. It wasn't nearly as good as I expected it to be. I'd much prefer a regular pepperoni pizza from PJ's. Still, it's good in small doses. I'd rate it a 7/10.

Damn, I forgot deviled eggs. Once Thanksgiving comes, if I haven't moved to California already, I'm going to go to my grandma's house and break my diet hardcore for one day by gorging on those things, along with turkey, ham, pumpkin pie, etc.

I'm still waiting for the Best Buy page to load (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?j=1&id=cat02119&type=category) but here are at least the highlights of the list of $10 games this week at Best Buy- Xbox: Panzer Dragoon Orta GameCube: Skies of Arcadia Legends, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, SSX Tricky, Slugfest 20-03, NFL 2k3, Madden 2002 (only $5), and Swinger's Golf. PS2: Onimusha 2, Gungrave, Kessen, The Thing, Thunderstrike: Operation Phoenix, and Actic Thunder. GBA: Guilty Gear X, Revenge of Shinobi, Harry Potter, Galidor, Dual Blades, Stuntman, DM BMX 3, Rocky, and Legends of Wrestling II. What a great list of games... Grab 'em while you still can! Panzer Dragoon, Skies of Arcadia, and NFL2k3 are must-buys in my opinion.

I was watching that earlier after PTI but not really paying much attention as I was having a conversation with someone, but that last line made me bust out laughing. Man, that was classic.

You guys are making me really hungry. I like all kinds of eggs, but my grandma defintiely makes the best. Sunny side up, fried in bacon grease, served with (what else?) bacon and buttered bread. Having that delicious meal for breakfast every day before school along with the usual pizza (my favorite food) dinner is the main reason I was a fat fuck from ages 7-18.
-
Yes, shipping is free. As far as I know, the sale is a one time thing and ends after Saturday. As for The Thing being on the list... I haven't played a lot of the games on the list myself, but the word "great" was in reference to Skies of Arcadia, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and NFL2K3.

Nothing ever happens in Springfield. I've been to WWE house shows, a couple WCW TV tapings, and some concerts. I've gone to St. Louis for concerts and Cards games too, but nothing of significance. The ONLY cool "event" I have been at was the May 9th, 2000, WCW Thunder taping where Buff Bagwell got arrested. he was standing outside in his gear and myself and a friend asked for his autograph. He replied, "Ah, not right now, guys," and seconds later the cops came in, screaming at everyone to get back, and they cuffed "The Stuff".

I just have to note that I recently quit smoking cigarettes (although I only started in late March) but I'm puffing away now since I got so worked up over this game.

Fuck. I am mainly a White Sox and Cardinals fan (and to a lesser extent, the Yankees) but the Cubs are one of my hometown teams and I've watched more of their agmes than anyone's over the years since my dad's side of the family loves the team. After being so excited over the greatest MLB playoffs I have ever seen (watched since '96), my enthusiasm has been sapped. I like the Yanks and Marlins, but I so wanted to see a Cubs/BoSox series... but it is not to be. I was also hoping to maybe go to a Series game in Chicago... also not to be. Over in Springfield, my grandpa is probably having his 3rd heart attack. The one and only positive is that we have a good chance of seeing Mike Wilbon go legitimately fucking nuts on PTI tomorrow.

*Marks out* I loved this shit. We had the greatest cereals as kids. If only they'd bring back the delicious Ninja Turtles cereal...
