    Non-soiler Smackdown Match Listing

I thought Cena was supposed to get a US title shot this week... Hmm.

You still have to work out hard when you're on steroids. They simply help you achieve bigger gains in a shorter period of time.

    Zwan is finished

Corgan pulls plug on band... Billy Corgan told WGN News in Chicago today that his latest band, Zwan, has broken up. "A couple of people asked me, 'Why didn't you tell anybody?' I'm sort of out of the period of my life when I run around trying to generate news," he said. This follows news that Zwan had dropped all touring plans for this year. "I really enjoyed my experience with Zwan, but at the end of the day, without that sense of deeper family loyalty, it just becomes like anything else," Corgan said. "Our attitude in the Pumpkins was, it was a do or die proposition, and that got us through all the hard times we went through, particularly with the Pumpkins where we had two members with serious drug problems," he continued. Zwan's only album, Mary, Star of the Sea, has sold roughly 260,000 copies since being released earlier this year. Credit: Billboard -------------------------------------------------- This sucks. I really enjoyed their album, and I was hoping they'd be around for a while. This was completely unexpected.

    Ten years ago today

Gunstar Heroes might just be my favorite Genesis game of all time. I didn't know there was a Game Gear version, though...

Damn, Sakura... You mean you actually have legit copies of all those, plus the arcade machines? If you do have the actual aracade cabinets, how much did they cost you and where did you get them? I've been looking into picking up an arcade game or 2 for my room. As far as the topic goes, I remember reading about Mortal Monday in my comic books I had back then. I didn't have a Genesis, but I remember getting the original MK for Christmas of 1993 for the SNES (along with SFII Turbo; those were my first 2 fighting games ever). It doesn't seem like 10 years ago, though... time surely does fly by quickly.

    Mega Man Anniversary pack announced.

Heh, I was actually coming here to post about this. I marked the fuck out when I read this news. I love the Mega Man games, and despite owning most of the games already and having the rest on emulators, I will definitely pick this up when it's released. Although the X games for SNES were slightly better than most of the original series (don't know about the PSX ones; never played them) this collection will include 8 great games as well as 2 previously unreleased titles, making it arguably the best game(s) on PS2 or GameCube. It'll probably be at a dicsount price too, which is even better.

    Jobs

Well, I rarely ever start any topics here, and I posted this at the www.yahmean.com forums (run by Mr. Jag0 and TheAnvil) and I figured it would make an interesting thread here as well. Last week, I finally resumed my search for a job. Now, we all hate jobs (especially Triple H), but I sure as hell needed the money. Yesterday, I had my second interview at CCB Credit Services, and I will be starting on Monday. Yes, I'm a bill collector. It's my first full time job, and I'll be making $8.25 per hour, with the potential to double that with bonuses. Some people end up making $30,000-$40,000 per year due to bonuses. I'll be working 11-8 on Mondays and Tuesdays, 8-5 Wednesday-Friday, and every other Saturday 8-12 noon. On the weeks where I work Saturdays, I will only have to work 8-12 noon on Friday. I'm really excited about this, as I will be taking in nearly a grand and a half a month, and I will finally be able to afford all the things I have been wanting to get while still putting back at least 1/2 my paycheck (probably more) to save up to move out with. That shouldn't take more than a couple months, either. Anyway, what do you guys do?

Zack, you have the 4th best job ever- after wrestler, msuician, and porn star, of course.

    My computer is dead.

So last night, I was browsing the forums and my computer suddenly froze. No big deal, I thought, since it's happened before and I had no problems once I reset it. However, this time was different. I tried resetting the computer, but it didn't work, so I turned the power off and then back on. I've done that before as well, and had no problems afterwards. This time, though, instead of displaying the Windows ME screen, I got a black screen that said, "Operating system not found" over and over again. I have no idea what to do... Is my computer fucked?

For $1 million, can you name...

Goldberg beat the H's? Hmm... don't recall that one. Maybe it was a house show, or a show I missed while traveling (although I obtained tapes of most of those). I still believe I was the first person to answer correctly.

  12. For the past couple of years I have had near constant back pain, ranging from mild to severe. I've gone to a chiropractor every couple of weeks for a long time now, and the treatment only helps me feel better for a few days, if at all. Recently, I've even had to get my knees adjusted because due to the misalignment of my spine, the bones in and around my right knee have popped out of place. I also have a feeling of extreme pressure in my neck and sciatica (pain and numbness resulting from the aforementioned problems) in my leg and thigh areas. At the moment, I have at least 2 and possibly 3 bulging/herniated discs in my back, and I'm not going to continue the endless cycle of mostly useless chiropractic treatment any longer. I know there must be some form of successful treatment to eliminate the problem that doesn't involve surgery, but I have yet to find anything conclusive in my extensive search of various medical websites. If there's anyone else around here who has experienced anything similar to what I'm going through and has overcome it, please reply with any information that may help lead me in the right direction.
  13. Damn, that sucks. I was just about to pick up the game too.... Actually, I probably still will for collector's purposes. But hey, broadband just became available in my area and I'll be getting a cable hookup soon, so that's all the more reason to finally pick up an Xbox and PSO. I'm sure my cousin will be happy that he can play with me rather than having me take over his system while I'm over there. PSO... it had me at hello. The game's more addicting than chocolate chip crack.

    For people with bulging/herniated discs...

I was never severely overweight, although I had been overweight to some degree for most of my life. I was up to 168 pounds (and I'm 5'8") until earlier this year, and I dropped down to 132. Right now I've stabilized around the 140 pound mark. I'm pretty sure my weight doesn't have anything to do with it, but I guess I can never be sure. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

    Non-Spoiler Smackdown Match List

Yeah, that looked pretty sloppy. I was watching the show with my cousin (who is known here as The Bad Guy) and he said something along the lines of, "Damn, it looked like he almost broke his neck there!" I hadn't heard about the concussion til now though. At least he probably won't be out too long.

    Non-Spoiler Smackdown Match List

Compared to your average smackdown card, this show looks to be pretty shitty. However, despite the fact that I wish there were more matches on the show, I like what's on there. Rey vs. Nunzio will be good. Cena vs. Eddie features 2 of my favorite wrestlers in a match I've been wanting to see for a long time, with a possibility of Cena finally getting some gold. I actually have been enjoying A-Train's work as of late and his previous matches with Benoit were pretty good by hoss standards. As for the main event, Brock has been one of the few people able to get good matches out of Taker and Big Show in recent times, so it could be OK, although I'm not expecting much. The thing that pisses me off most is that this show lacks Mattitude, actually. I'll continue to be optimistic, but with the pre-emptions, less than stellar (compared to most) card, and dearth of matches, this will probably be one of the lowest rated Smackdowns of the year.

    Getting a credit card

Hey everyone. I would like to get a credit card, but I have no credit history and I was wondeirng if any of you knew of a card that I could get approved for under these circumstances. The only reason I even want one is so I can use it to purchase things online from sites such as Amazon and eBay. Any help would be appreciated.

So should I go to Hooters

Going to see PPvs at Hooters is fun sometimes, but I always end up getting a tape and watching the show again later because, at my Hooters at least, you can barely hear the audio most of the time and of course there are so many distractions there that I usually can't fully enjoy the show. It's fun to have people to talk to, but I appreciate the show more watching alone. I'm skipping the trip to Hooters tonight and getting a tape tomorrow.

    SummerSlam Webcast!

I know the answer's probably no, but is it even worth trying to watch on a 56k? If so, I'd appreciate it if someone could hook me up.

    Who else is drunk?

I was pretty drunk last night myself. It was my first chance to actually spend a lot of time with Mandy (not counting her 1 hour visit to my house the other day) since our breakup/fight which led to me traveling out of state for a month. Before that, we had spent every day of the last 1 year plus together. I was worried that things would be awkward, but we both had a great time. We went through a 750 mL bottle of Aristocrat vodka (good, reasonably cheap shit) between the 2 of us and smoke a few large bowls of some good weed. We laughed, we cried (we both discussed some pretty deep stuff), and in the end I feel we're getting back to where we were. Neither of us have said "I love you" again like we used to, but she kept talking about how much she missed me, how sexy I was, etc. and I received numerous kisses and ass slaps, so all is well. All in all, it was a really good night, and it was probably my last chance to drink before school starts tomorrow. Sadly, I'm going to have to cut down my partying from the every other day pace I have been at this summer to weekends only, because I plan on acing my college classes like I know I can.

    An interesting statistic

Damn, that's nearly as many posts as I have made in the year and a half I've been here...
