Here's a screenshot from tonight's X-Play, from an RB2 preview, taken by someone at Score Hero:

Some significant Rock Band news over the past few days: First, the 60-day, receipt-needed hardware warranty that was instated a few weeks ago has been revised to once again allow no-receipt RMAs until October 1st. http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58623 Second, Rock Band 2 was officially announced. Biggest confirmed news is full cross-game compatability for downloadable songs; Xbox 360 exclusivity for a September release, with other platforms later this year; and it's being revealed at E3 in 2 weeks. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/885/885168p1.html http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59332 Third, a 12-song Best Of collection by The Who is being released on July 15th. “Amazing Journey” “Baba O'Riley” “Behind Blue Eyes” “Eminence Front” “Going Mobile” “Leaving Here” “My Generation” (LIVE) “Real Good Looking Boy” “Sea & Sand” “Summertime Blues” (LIVE) “Who Are You” “Young Man Blues” (LIVE) http://www.thewho.com/index.php?module=new...ews_item_id=159 Edit: Also, Doolittle is available as of last week. And there's a free song available on Tuesday. "Promised Land" by Vesuvius, which is a fictional band from the new movie The Rocker.

I forgot about Def Jam. This is what they were working on. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24424.html?pl=game

They closed down EA Chicago, who made at least Round 3. Because making good games for EA is a bad thing, I guess. EA Canada's doing Round 4, though, and their games are generally pretty solid.

It's more the Yuke's that bothers me than THQ. (I'm really not an SD! series fan.) Graphically, it's very impressive. (Except the blood. Edit: And the boob jiggle.) They even modelled Stitch really well.

I'll probably set up a separate Windows installation on my old hard drive and install it there. Just because it's Spore. For any other game, I'd pass.

You might be able to shoot out the window if he falls to the floor instead. It was the one on the back wall, behind his desk, on the far right.

From what I'm reading, it seems as though the game still installs SecuROM on your system, and still requires online validation, but the 5 times each on 5 computers restriction (originally 2 on 2, IIRC) has been lifted. While that's nice, it's only part of the problem that's gone. 10 months after the game's release.

I remember in an early mission, the first time I did it, I kicked the guy out a warehouse window, down the side of the building, and he landed in the water. The next time, I had a knife, and somehow managed to do a counter, and pretty much wiped him out before he had a chance to hobble over near the window. I've definitely noticed some obviously-scripted moments. There's been times where I'll keep chasing a guy on purpose, because I figure there'll be some event coming up that I don't want to miss.

For "Final Interview", I started to go out the front door, after offing a few security guards. Then I decided to go back into Tom's office, and jump out the window he fell through. The cops caught up to me eventually (with 2 stars). Though that was mostly because I missed a Stunt Jump, and tried to re-do it. But I ended up with a logjam of police cars blocking the narrow pathway I needed to gather speed in. Anyhow. Just jump out the window. It's only 1 story down.

This one kind of gets into the pitfalls of games requiring authentication. http://securom.mustbedestroyed.org/phorum/...hp?f=6&t=37 I'm particularly wary of EA, considering how they like to take down service for old games' online play (old sports games, for example). And for digital games you buy from their online store; it appears as though you can only re-download for 6 months, unless you pay an extra fee, in which case they'll let you go for 2 years.

Umm... not very, why? That was one of the things about the 360 version that gained some notoriety: long load times disguised as elevator rides. -
Apparently not. They're not requiring you to validate the game every 10 days, which was a really bad idea. But it does still throw SecuROM on your system as copy protection.
-
Outside of the PC/Mac version, only the DS has been confirmed, as far as I know. And some kind of mobile phone thing, which I assume isn't the full game.
-
I've been looking forward to Spore since I saw Will Wright's GDC demonstration about 3 years ago. Unfortunately, EA seems to be throwing SecuROM into the mix. From what I'm reading, it's on the full Creature Creator, and the demo. And it'll no doubt be in the full game. So, yeah. Another potentially excellent PC game I most likely won't be getting.

How long are the elevator rides for you? -

ghey Yeah, I got the ol' "LMAO free XBL u suck" message. This time it kinda blows. I wanna see some nifty blood spatter in the midst of getting my ass kicked. The first time I got the brush off, with the Iron Man demo, I didn't care so much.

There's a Ninja Gaiden II demo up now for XBL Gold members.

"Through the Fire and Flames" on Expert, 100% & Full Combo'd last night, by iamchris4life. Incidentally, if any Canadians read this, and don't already have the game, EB has the 360 version, game only, for $10 new, or $5 used. My brother picked it up for me last night. In my first act, I got 4 stars on "Slow Ride" Hard.

I like it. -
I tried the TMNT '89 trial, and was really let down, for whatever reason. And I played the shit out of the NES games back in the day.
