    The OaO 7/28 PPV thread

Got done watching Ultimate X. There was some sick stuff in there that probably would've looked even better if it wasn't Kazarian on one end of it. He just has a way of making things look ugly. I'm not even gonna get into the ending. It is cool, but I've seen them use it several times. Sting at the 1st Anniversary, Raven not too long after that, probably in a Clockwork Orange match, and a few times since.

Paul London is the Next Big Thing

London's fortunate that most of his SD! exposure has come as a tag team wrestler. True, the tag division sucks ball most of the time, but it doesn't have the unfortunate negative stigma that's seemingly attached to being a WWE cruiserweight.

    Benoit DVD Discussion Thread

it might have something to do with the Canadian factor. Stores might be importing US copies. Koch's Canadian release date is August 10th. http://www.kochcan.com/05_catalogue/videoi...V-9134&frame=1# Amazon.ca has the same for the Canadian version. However, the American version still has Tuesday as its release date, and is actually 22 cents less than the Canadian one. I wish I could get it myself, but I spent all of my money on a half-price TV DVD box set sale. Now I can watch the first season of King of the Hill instead of some of the best wrestling matches ever.

    Luther Reigns

He's not stinking up the ring, and his first move in the match last night was a big boot better than Tomko's hit during his entire run. When he's done the Last Rites, it hasn't been pretty, but I don't think that type of move suits someone of his size anyhow. The side powerslam he's done is a better fit. He's also kicked in with a couple of promos that weren't bad. I don't hope he gets an uber-push, but if he keeps up what he's done so far, he'll be fine with me.

The "what WWE are doing well" thread

I like the Dudleys since their turn. A lot of their work looks really stiff, especially recently, against London and Kidman. It's great for me to watch, but probably not so good for someone getting kicked in the bells. I also love Bubba when he's on the outside, riling up the crowd. I hope he wasn't actually told to stop doing it.

    The Amazing Race 5 Returns

I've gotten sick of the accent Mirna keeps using when speaking Spanish (if it's Spanish), or English to Spanish-speaking folk. I'll be glad when they get out of South America. I also think Christie and Nicole look a lot alike. I can't really tell them apart during the show.

    Most Dastardly Heel Acts

Angle laying a beating to a handcuffed Eddie Guerrero was pretty good. Big Show, again, laying a beating to Eddie, power bombing him on the hood of his truck, then choke slamming him on the roof was also brutal.
  12. I loved how they built to this big, shocking death, and then the producer just casually mentions it. Eleanor going totally over the top with her crying, Cammy using her coupon, Eleanor ripping on Austin, still using the whole dramatic music while handing out the obvious necklaces, and cutting to the sex dolls. Awesome episode.

The OAO What's this move thread

What's a Northern Lights Bomb? I found a picture of a sequence that makes it look like Al Snow's Snow Plow. But when I've seen him do the move, he doesn't cradle any leg. Also, where'd the name "Nothern Lights" come from?

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

She tonight. Not bad overall. Featured some really awesome physical comedy on Wes' part, just randomly falling on his ass 3 or 4 times through the episode. Him and Angel dancing at Cordy's party is hi-larious. So much so, they stuck more of it in the closing credits. TVTome folk really shit on it. It's got an average rating in the 5s, which places it 2nd-last for the series, only ahead of I Fall to Pieces. The system is somewhat flawed, since it's not necessarily fans of the series doing the voting. So rabid Dharma & Greg fans may very well have handed out 1s to any of the competition. I'm not sure what else would put it that low.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Expecting was on Space Thursday, and I got around to it today. Definitely one of the lesser episodes. Only really worthwhile part was Wesley confronting the demon. Demon: “Who is the interloper to think you could disturb the birth of my children? Who are you?” Wesley stands up: “Wesley Wyndham-Pryce, rogue demon hunter. (Puts up his fists) And I’m here to fight you, Sir, to the death, - preferably yours.” Demon: “You?” Wesley: “As a heathen I wouldn’t expect you to be familiar with the biblical story of David and Goliath. But I assure you it’s of particular relevance to this situation.” Demon: “You said you came here to do battle, then lets fight and be done.” Wesley looks around then slowly inches closer to the demon on the rim of the vat: “Yes, well, - as a point of courtesy, - I like to get to know my opponents, before I engage them in mortal combat. Do you, ah – do you have any hobbies?”

    Firefly on DVD

The set is $26CAD right now at FutureShop.ca, so if you can find a willing Canadian to send it to you, it'd probably end up being about $30US after taxes and shipping and whatnot. I wouldn't mind doing it, but I already have to beg my buddy to let me use his credit card for a few other boxes on sale. On the plus side, he may get the set himself, since he liked it when I lent it to him.

    Firefly is $25.99. Buffy's $17.99. Most half-hour shows are $20, hour-long are $33.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Canadian folk, Future Shop has a sale going for 1st season DVD box sets. Seems to be mostly 20th Century Fox stuff. The Whedonverse, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, King of the Hill, Malcom in the Middle, The Shield, 24, etc. It's in-store and online, though they usually only have one or two copies of these things in-store, and most of them are out of stock online, so you'd have to wait until they re-stock to get 'em. In any case, the prices are roughly half off, so it's a fine deal. Edit: It's in-store at Best Buy as well.

    TNA on TSN?!?

I'd still rather have the old X and ignore the shit, than watch (and pay for) most of what's going on today.
