So you hold the double underhook into the bump, instead of bringing your arms up around the waist?
-
This came up in the Velocity thread. Jamie Noble hit a double-underhook power bomb on Paul London, which Josh Mathews called a Tiger Driver. I've come to know a Tiger Driver as a double-underhook pile driver, for example Jay Briscoe's J-Driller, or Kid Kash's Money Maker. Since the move Noble used is power bomb-ish, I'd usually call it a Tiger Bomb. But someone said it was originally called a Tiger Driver. Here's the thread in question. I was just wondering if anyone could lend some more insight into that whole situation.

When did Manitoba host a PPV?
-
So what do you call a double underhook into a pile driver?
-
I don't know if I'd call it better, but I think I liked this second Noble vs. London match better. Wouldn't the finisher be a Tiger Bomb, though? I'd figure a Tiger Driver would be Jay Briscoe's J-Driller, or Kid Kash's Money Maker, and would therefore be very banned by WWE.

Movies worth owning for just one part
AnonymousBroccoli replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
A lot of Jerry Bruckheimer's movies are almost worth owning for the action scenes. The Bad Boys 2 car chase and Pearl Harbor invasion, for example. -

Is there some kind of symbolism with that Passion Rock, or whatever it's called? I almost think I see a hand with a "Scout's Honour" type of hand gesture. -

This season rules already. The stupid black balls and pearl necklace stuff is awesome. I couldn't stop laughing during that whole ceremony. The drunken Rita strip tease was great. Too bad she's gone already, but it wouldn't make any sense for her to stay. I'd seen every season of The Bachelor until quitting at the second Bachelorette, so I've seen a lot of cornball stuff that's just begging to be parodied. "Piper" and "Cammy" are farkin' hot, and Ingrid isn't too shabby. Finally, British Ralph was one of the best moves they made. -

On the seating chart, it reads "All seats in the stands run clockwise around the arena." So, in the NWFLR section, seat 1 should be beside the entrance way. -

What are you feelin' lately?

Gah. WWE.com jerkys took down past months on their event calendar. Now I have to actually search for where the March 2nd SD! tapings took place. I watched the Noble vs. London match (March 6, '04), and it is very good for a 10-minute match. The end sequence is really sweet, consisting of a standing Paydirt (I don't know how to call it otherwise... maybe a front facelock + body scissors), reversed into a Northern Lights suplex, reversed again into a sitting Paydirt. -
The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

As my first foray into Buffyverse ownership, I got Buffy's 2nd season in the mail today from a dude on eBay. The package is a little beat up, but the discs are fine, and 40 bucks beats 70. It may just be the messed up order in which I watched the series, but I think season 2 is my favourite. During their initial airings, I missed the first two seasons, and a lot of season 3, then caught a fair bit of 4, most of 5, then I saw and taped all of seasons 6 and 7. I've watched Angel pretty much the same, using that timeline, though I never taped any of it permanently. Anyhow. I started renting DVDs early this year, from the start of the series. I thought season 1 was too heavy in the cheesy horror area, which I really don't like, but it was still good to see how the whole thing got started. Season 2, on the other hand, started off right away in the more Whedon-esque style, so I thought it was great. Since I'd seen the Buffy and Angel characters and stories for about 4 years longer apiece than I would've when the season first came along, it probably helped their storyline mean a lot more. I rented season 3 as well, and it was pretty close to #2, though the Mayor and Faith as villains, again, didn't quite mean as much as Angelus, Spike and Dru. I'd like to keep going, but I'd rather re-watch Buffy's season 4 and Angel's first concurrently, as they were originally shown. I do have the problems of a depleted supply of free rentals, no money, and somewhat ridiculous rental rates. Since most places are content to rent one disc at a time, at a new release price, by the end, I'd probably have spent over half the purchase price in rentals. So I guess I'll be waiting. -
Keller gave pretty much everything *, aside from the main event, which got **¾. Considering what he's given **** lately, that doesn't sound like much of a recommendation. http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/article_8560.shtml

Here's a list of how TVTome.com members have ranked Angel episodes with their ratings. Not Fade Away and You're Welcome being over half a point above everything else. http://tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/DetailsSe...672/moduleid-21 -
I'm trying to see if I can get a spoiler tag incorporated into the software of another forum I visit, so I showed the boss lady how it works here. She's curious which version of BBCode is used here. That's about it. Thanks.

I just watched Angle vs. Benoit. At about 10 minutes, they hit a double clothesline and were down for a 9 count. Benoit hit his rolling Germans. At about 12:00, Benoit motioned for the headbutt and gave Angle a booger shower, but Angle hit the top-rope belly-to-belly. All of that pretty much got the crowd back into it. After a Crossface & Ankle Lock sequence, ending with an Angle Slam at 15:00, Benoit hit a Super German and the flying headbutt at 16:00. They were hooked until Chris tapped at 19:45.

I've watched Jeff vs. Matt from Vengeance and Booker vs. Bagwell in the past few months, and neither was that bad. They just didn't live up to the hype. The Hardys didn't get all spot-crazy, and the first WCW match on WWF TV just fell kind of flat in a hostile environment. They'd both be passable, especially by today's standards. BoD vs. Kronik was absolutely terrible, though. And the main events from Backlash to KotR in '02 were too.

The crowd was still hot for Benoit/Angle and the Royal Rumble. They gave Benoit a freakin' standing ovation. Hmmmm...I remember the Rumble being boring because the crowd was only into it in the first 10-15 minutes and died for the rest of it. (Mainly because they had like 12 guys in the ring at a time and nothing going on) I need to re-watch Angle/Benoit, because my mind's a blank on that one. They were out of it at the start, but the match was great enough to get them going again for the final half. It's really a shame one of the best matches of the year had to follow one of the worst. Though it is quite a sight to see one challenger get booed out of the joint, while the other gets a huge show of respect.

In a bit of Buffyverse actors news, Julie Benz made an appearance on Fox's Oliver Beene last night, and Adam Busch is going to be a regular on The Jury, which debuts Tuesday on Fox, and tonight on Global in Canada (against Raw and Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals with a Canadian team ). -

I used to drive an '87 Voyager called The Crapmobile. I took it on the 401 but once, and could only get it up to 80 before the transmission would crap out and drop to a lower gear. Also, Raw was on September 3rd. SmackDown! (which was my first live show, and was better ) was the 4th. -

"Styles vs. Kazarian" appears in the sub-title of the PPV preview thread. As far as I've seen, Styles wasn't even announced to be in the #1 contender's match on Impact!, and his return to the division was something of a surprise for the new show. There's your spoiler. -
I watched some video files of the show. Unfortunately, the files were corrupted, or incomplete, or something, so I only saw roughly the first half of each of the non-squash matches. What I did see was very good, and very different from what WWE puts out every week. That'll be the key to their success. Doing their unique thing, and doing it well. And hopefully not pissing people off with lacklustre PPVs once they decide to shell out the bucks. I like the whole presentation of the show. The set looks pretty nice. They might have to give the PPV set at the Asylum a bit of a makeover, because it looks drab by comparison. You don't want people paying their $10 and being turned off by what they see, since the whole point of Impact! is to attract the buys. The ring looked good, and, again, it's different. I only saw a few hiccups on the wrestlers' part as far as execution goes, and I'm sure things will only improve as they get used to it. I like it, and I hope someone in Canada takes notice.
