*The official "I'm going to SummerSlam" Thread*
AnonymousBroccoli replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Damn. How much did you pay? $216 for the pair. I sure hope it doesn't suck. -
I hate to be that guy, but did anyone cap the show, or know where to download it? I'm going to e-mail TNA, TSN, The Score, and maybe some others to see if they've got anything in the works, but that doesn't do me much good in the meanwhile.

They've got Raw in London and SmackDown! in Hamilton listed. http://www.wwe.com/liveevents/calendar/?date=08a2004 Figures I'd find out they're coming to do a live TV show here in town at the same time they're doing the second-biggest PPV of the year a few hours away. I don't know if I'll be able to con any more money out of people for that one. -

http://media.ticketmaster.com/en-ca/tmimag.../tor/10087s.gif NWFLR, Row 11, Seats 7&8 for my brother and I. That strikes me as pretty close to C-Bacon. Also quite close to both the stage and ramp. Three cheers for hearing loss! -
I was watching The Message the other day (the new signature might've been a hint ), and something kind of bothered me about the way the whole thing went down. I can understand that "the plan" involved shooting Tracey once, so the feds would see the "damaged goods" and back off. (Incidentally, they didn't get an especially good look at him.) And the second shot was to get him off of Kaylee once he went loco. But why would they not make an attempt to save his life, or not shoot him in such a fatal way in the first place? And why wouldn't they have been able to tell him about said plan? If the idea the whole time was to kill him, contrary to Tracey's dying words, that's a pretty shitty plan.

The OAO What wrestling tapes / DVDs do you own?
AnonymousBroccoli replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
My WWF/E DVDs I've got the Takedown Maters version of Ring of Honor - The Era of Honor Begins on top of that. WWE/F PPVs I've got, in varying degrees of quality, depending on the cable/satellite box used at the time: ((M) = Master/Commercial version) 1995 WrestleMania XI (M) 1996 Survivor Series (M) 1997 Royal Rumble In Your House: Final Four WrestleMania 13 In Your House: Taker's Revenge In Your House: A Cold Day In Hell King of the Ring In Your House: Canadian Stampede SummerSlam In Your House: Ground Zero One Night Only In Your House: Badd Blood Survivor Series In Your House: D-Generation X 1998 Royal Rumble In Your House: No Way Out of Texas WrestleMania XIV Unforgiven Over the Edge King of the Ring Fully Loaded SummerSlam Breakdown Judgment Day Survivor Series Capital Carnage Rock Bottom 1999 St. Valentine's Day Massacre Backlash King of the Ring (M) SummerSlam (M) DVD Unforgiven (M) No Mercy (M) Survivor Series (M) Armageddon (M) 2000 Royal Rumble (M) DVD No Way Out (M) Backlash (M) Judgment Day (M) King of the Ring (M) DVD Fully Loaded SummerSlam Unforgiven No Mercy Survivor Series Armageddon 2001 Royal Rumble WrestleMania X-7 Backlash Judgment Day King of the Ring Invasion SummerSlam Unforgiven (Taped & (M) DVD) No Mercy Rebellion Survivor Series Vengeance 2002 Royal Rumble No Way Out WrestleMania X-8 (M) Backlash Judgment Day King of the Ring (M) DVD Vengeance SummerSlam Unforgiven No Mercy Survivor Series Armageddon 2003 Royal Rumble No Way Out WrestleMania XIX Backlash Judgment Day (M) DVD Vengeance SummerSlam (M) DVD Unforgiven (M) DVD Survivor Series 2004 Royal Rumble No Way Out WrestleMania XX Backlash I've got about 99% of A-Shows (Raw & SmackDown!) starting with the week of Judgment Day '01, Raw is Quad and TLC3. Same for non-recap B-Shows (Heat, Metal/Jakked matches, Excess, Velocity, Confidential, and Experience) since sometime later in 2001. I've also got various Raw shows from '96-'99 and a few of Heat from some point. And there's several special shows like The Stone Cold Truth. I don't have UPN, so I wouldn't have most of those. NWA-TNA PPVs 05/14/03 06/18/03 (1st Anniversary) 07/23/03 07/30/03 08/13/03 09/10/03 (1¢ Show) 09/17/03 10/08/03 10/15/03 10/22/03 11/12/03 12/03/03 12/24/03 (Best of 2003 - Part 1 - X Division) 01/07/04 02/11/04 (America's X Cup - USA vs. Mexico) (TNA sent me a replacement copy for the shitty original broadcast, which I also have taped, so it's as close to a master as can be.) 03/17/04 05/26/04 (World X Cup) I've also got every PPV preview show since they started on 10/01/03. There's also a bunch of wrestlers' TV appearances planted on some tapes, including The Rock's movie and WrestleMania media blitzes, and Off the Record interviews. Don't believe I'd refuse to own anything, though the price (or any price) would obviously deter a lot of stuff. -
Summerslam Press Conference
AnonymousBroccoli replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in The WWE Folder
I wouldn't mind the pre-sale passes either, though I don't even know if I'll have the money ready until Saturday anyhow. I've been halfway busy today, so I only caught Triple H's crack at Carl DeMarco's giant head at the press conference. I did tape it, so I might watch some later. -
Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story DVD
AnonymousBroccoli replied to MARTYEWR's topic in The WWE Folder
I could be crazy, but that seems like a lot of stuff for 2 DVDs. Edit: Maybe not. I thought I read there was a feature, à la Mysterio or The Stone Cold Truth. Edit again: Yeah. There's "Chapters", and then "Extras", which seems like a feature. -
I'm glad I spent my money on Survivor Series '96, Backlash 2000, Judgment Day 2000, and various 1999 tapes instead of next week's SD! taping.

http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/tvreport...reports_id=1617 He does say he's new to recaps, and doesn't watch TNA much. If you haven't watched their better shows, I'm sure you could see last night's as pretty great. He didn't seem too thrilled about the Mexico vs. Japan tag match, but still gave it ***, so he may be working under the **½-*** = average system, which would make a heck of a lot more sense.
-
I hope if they continue to do these X shows, they scrap the national team competition. It's a nice concept, but having to use underwhelming talents to fill a country's quota has hurt them a lot. In this case, they used an entire team of ass to make the event seem more "World"ly, and it just wrecked a few matches.
-
They played Mexico vs. Japan's 6-man tag from last week and USA vs. Canada from May 5th in the preview show. The first was kind of ugly, but the second is good, and I'm glad I have it on tape now.
-
I kind of wish I had a better chance to order the replay. They usually show it through the night on ExpressVu, but tonight, they only bothered with the 10:30 (watching Law & Order, The West Wing and Angel) and 12:30 shows, then played Word Life and an Everlast concert until morning.
-
Now they're blanking it out during a recap of a Tenay & Russo interview segment. I wonder if this is something ExpressVu is doing, since we don't have Fox Sports.
-
They blanked out "Fox Sports" when Rhodes and Borash have said it in the preview show.

The OAO Raw Thread - May 17th, 2004

That was a fantastic Raw. I'm impressed that everyone involved has been able to turn Eugene from potentially the ultimate WrestleCrap into the ultimate sympathetic babyface. -

Johnny Fairplay Hyped TNA On Survivor
AnonymousBroccoli replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
The poll used to vote for best villain was the same one used to award a million-dollar prize, so I assume they had some sort of protection against vote tampering. Considering what he did on the show, compared to the other nominees, it's not that big of a shock. -
The first WCW match on Heat between Palumbo & O'Haire and Kanyon & Stasiak from July 8, 2001 was a decent, energetic match. Featuring a really sweet pre-Lesnar F5 from O'Haire on Kanyon. Unfortunately, I don't have a good memory for A-show TV matches, so the B-shows really get lost in the shuffle. Thankfully, I've got tapes of almost every Heat since mid-'01 and Jakked/Metal/Velocity since late-'01 to remind me.

Since I wouldn't be able to make up my mind on only a show or two, I can't really afford the show or two, and I wouldn't be able to get anything else after being hooked by the show or two, I'm gonna pass on the whole deal. Kind of like what I do with booze... except I actually like ROH.

http://www.rohwrestling.com/main.html Every DVD from 2002 is on sale for $16.95 (from $19.95), and all from 2003-04 are $19.95 (from $24.95). RFVideo.com ROH Section They'll still cost me about $35 Canadian apiece, but I've got a bit of money at the moment, so I might pick up a couple.

I think the selling point for 2002 going over 2003 was that I only missed one PPV in '02, whereas in '03, I couldn't be bothered to order half of them. There was also usually one or two very good undercard feuds going on throughout '02 (the main event was seldom worthwhile either year, and only on SD!) with Edge vs. Angle, RVD vs. Eddie, Edge vs. Eddie, Angle vs. Benoit, RVD vs. Lesnar (I liked it), Jericho vs. Booker (usually a tag team thing), the whole SD! 6 tag scene, and so on. What did 2003 in was the series of long, awful storylines getting top billing. HHH vs. Steiner, HHH vs. Nash, the whole Vince/Hogan/Steph/Gowen/Piper saga, Goldberg. Katie Vick was shit, but it only lasted 3 or 4 weeks. In '03, they probably had more good main event matches overall, thanks to the SD! side. And WM19 kicks the hell out of WM18. TV matches are probably pretty close. The two years aren't miles apart, and there are plenty of highs and lows to both, but I'm reasonably secure in putting 2002 over 2003.

Best collection site for wrestling DVDs & tapes?

Gah. Alright. I've submitted a few CDs in the past, but I can't be bothered to dig up who directed the Takedown Masters version of The Era Of Honor Begins. -
Best collection site for wrestling DVDs & tapes?
AnonymousBroccoli posted a topic in General Wrestling
I'm currently using Guzzlefish, but its listings aren't toally accurate, or complete (ROH, for example). Is there a collection site around that sees wrestling as more than a "Special Interest"?
