I may order a replay, if only to see some of these Canadian guys. Petey Williams is being announced from Windsor, Ontario, which is just a few hours away, where a bunch of my family lives. I just bugged my brother for $20 for a brick of video tapes, so I'll have to wait to see if he feels like shelling out $60 on wrestling this week.

London WILL be in the Cruiserweight Open at Mania
AnonymousBroccoli replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
During the match on Velocity, Mathews and DeMott talked about London not being in the 'Mania match, and how he's got to be disappointed. Josh mentioned that he might try to do some last-minute lobbying to get in, but it was probably just filler chat. -
TNA On Demand Free View: The Best of AJ Styles
AnonymousBroccoli replied to AnonymousBroccoli's topic in TNA Wrestling
For a TNA World Title match, it was relatively BS-free. Not being someone who regularly gives star ratings or fully knows how the rating system works, I'd give it ***½. I don't think it could've been much better, considering the near-15 minutes they were given, and the TNA booking style. -

This is from ROHWrestling.com, which I was having trouble getting to a few minutes ago. I would imagine their server's getting thrashed. Aside from the last paragraph, it's the same thing Meltzer posted: March 5, 2004 Statement from Douglas I. Gentry New President and CEO RF Video, Inc. and Ring of Honor, Inc. As a result of a personal incident in which Mr. Feinstein was involved, both RF Video and Ring of Honor have made some necessary changes in both management and ownership of our companies. This was a personal incident and RF Video and Ring of Honor as corporations were not involved. RF Video and Ring of Honor are family-friendly organizations. We value all of our customers, vendors and business partners. As a result, the board of directors of both corporations voted officially this afternoon to release Robert Feinstein as president and CEO of both RF Video and Ring of Honor. As of today, Mr. Feinstein is no longer officially associated with either company or any upcoming events and I was named as the new President and CEO of both corporations. He has been dissolved of all responsibility and ownership in both companies. Our corporate attorney is currently working on all the necessary paperwork. We are also exploring a new name change for RF Video, Inc. and we will have more details soon. We want to thank you all for the many positive messages we have received from hundreds of you, including fans, talent and business partners. We are very excited about the many upcoming wrestling events in 2004!

TNA On Demand Free View: The Best of AJ Styles
AnonymousBroccoli replied to AnonymousBroccoli's topic in TNA Wrestling
The three matches above are what they're offering for free. I assume at the start of every month, they'll do someone new. -
There'd be the problem of having pre-PPV Confidential, though they could always go old school by replacing it with the Free For All.
-
Considering he allegedly left because he saw himself being treated as just another wrestler, and not HULK HOGAN, I don't think that'll happen.

From the TNA newsletter: It was obvious at the end of last week's telecast that Jeff Jarrett was outraged to see Russo return to the Asylum. This past Monday, our source at the TNA offices (who shall remain confidential) was able to get on to Jarrett's personal computer and forward us a snapshot of the "Bookmarks" section of his web browser. Why are we showing you this information? Because we feel that it will give you a clear picture of the unstable mindset that Jarrett appears to be in right now. What will happen this Wednesday night when Russo returns to TNA? We'll find out at the same time you do - Live on Pay-Per-View. ATTENTION PRIVACY ACTIVISTS: TNA takes privacy issues very seriously. However, in the interest of maintaining a free and unbiased voice on the Internet, we decided to publicize this information and we are ready to suffer any repercussions that come hereafter. That is a sick move, by the way. Is that the "Black Hole" that I hear so much about? It looks more like a press slam, semi-reversed by AJ into a tornado DDT, reversed again into wrecking his back on the table. The Black Hole Slam is kind of like the Boss Man Slam (Boss Man stands in the middle of the ring, grabs a running opponent off the ground, turns him 180, with the running momentum, and slams him to the side). Abyss does one or one and a half rotations rather than half, and is larger and faster than Boss Man, so it looks a lot better. When you've got someone small, quick, and bumpable like Styles taking the move, it looks really sweet.

Latest On How TNA Is Doing Financially
AnonymousBroccoli replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in TNA Wrestling
Webster's defines the phenomenon as The "What?" Factor. -
Serves him right getting up from one kick after HBK got up from a powerbomb through the announce table in seconds. Nash worked really hard in that match, which is astounding considering he was going to WCW pretty much straight after, so that was warranted. It was a Nash match afterall. UYI It fit the big man match story. The smaller guy didn't destroy his opponent, he was just able to beat him. With the table spot, I thought he was down long enough to show the replay a few times. Apparently that's not the case, but it was still 40 seconds before he started to stumble to his feet. Could've been better, could've been worse.

That was interesting. Thanks. I watched Eddie vs. Malenko in their last ECW appearance tonight. It was great stuff, especially by 1995 standards. Joey Styles had a nice line: "For years, the pro wrestling industry has been dominated by heavyweights and super heavyweights. But I have no question these two men will be stars." At least he was partly right.

Didn't Sid no-sell the Hogan legdrop at WM8?
-
The tale of Kane and the Flaming Dumpster comes to mind. Another few would be Flair's sell of the leg after Steamboat's elbow drop assault during their Clash match, and Nash getting up pretty quickly after the finish at Good Friends, Better Enemies.
-
I think I remember a Downward Spiral with a bit of a twist being called Back to the Future. Chris Sabin took it a few times. Is that the move?
-
I was hoping they might follow up on the X Cup somewhat on the preview show. Yeah, that was dumb. They're running a loop of Jarrett and Juggalos.
-
I've seen an ad with an 11:30 replay start time. It could be wrong, I just wanted to mention it.
-
To be more up to date, they should replace that move; they could have a dog come with them to ringside, and when they distract the ref, the dog can jump into the ring, bite the crotch of the opponent, and drag them around the ring a bit. Hey, it's as legal as a low blow is, and don't tell me the marks wouldn't go nuts for a dog wearing a Dudley shirt and glasses. It would have to be a little dog that has to jump to reach the scrotal region, thus making the impact much more significant. You've got the momentum into contact, and the bite itself. The victim would have to help the dog with the dragging in an obvious fashion, but that makes it all the more ridiculous, and therefore funny.

I like the way Christian sells the Dudleys' "Wuzzaahh" spot. (I wonder how many people have forgotten what that's a reference to by now.) He grabs the affected area, then does a semi-delayed leg kick and thrashes on the ground over to the ropes. Faarooq used to use a sequence in most matches where he'd stand over top of his opponent's back as he was getting to his hands and knees, then Faarooq would drop down with his BUTT on his lower back. He'd hit it twice, then on the third try, the opponent would flip over and put his knee up, and defensively deliver the pain. I don't necessarily like the spot, I just thought I'd mention it. My favourite is the WM19 Y2J/HBK ending.
-
I can't believe they pulled a TLC4 at the end. That pissed me off more than not seeing/hearing the first half hour. I remember several months back when they'd use their newsletter to make fun of the ludicrous stuff WWE was doing. I hope they don't "have the balls" to do that again any time soon.

London vs Sabin TNA HL Vid on Kazaa
AnonymousBroccoli replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in TNA Wrestling
It wasn't long enough to be a historic classic or anything, but it was pretty cool. It was my first look at London (saw him again vs. Matt Hardy on Velocity that week), and my second at Sabin (Red vs. Lynn vs. Sabin where Chris won the X Title).
