  1. Montreal Prepares For BREAKOUT With the NHL season cancelled, Montreal sports fans are as jittery as a caffeine addict during a barista strike. Fortunately, the International Wrestling Syndicate is coming to the rescue with all the violence that any Don Cherry supporter could want. On Saturday, March 5th at Bar Billiard Le Break on 20 Boulevard Cremazie East, the IWS will present BREAKOUT. We promise no penalties, but plenty of unnecessary roughness. BREAKOUT Quick and Dirty Announced to date: IWS Title match: Franky the Mobster will defend against a star from Philadelphia’s Combat Zone Wrestling IWS Tag Title Match: The Flying Hurricanes have issued an open challenge. Beef vs. Quack: Beef Wellington vs. “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush ExesS vs. Evil Ninja Viking vs. Damian Fred la Merveille vs. Kid Kamikaze 2.0 vs. Dan Paysan and Tomassino BREAKOUT Detailed International Wrestling Syndicate President Seska confirmed today that Franky the Mobster will defend both his IWS title and his Combat Zone Wrestling Iron Man title in the main event of BREAKOUT on March 5th. She also announced that his opponent would be a star from Philadelphia’s CZW promotion. The name of Franky’s opponent will be announced during the free IWS web video show “Bloodstream” which will be released during the weekend on the IWS web-site: www.syndicatewrestling.com The IWS tag team champions, the Flying Hurricanes have issued an open challenge to any team, from any promotion to come to the IWS and compete for the tag team titles. In what sounds like the greatest barnyard confrontation since well ever, the IWS is pleased to present Beef vs. Quack as Beef Wellington will face "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush. The CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship will be defended... if Beef can make the weight limit. After months of ambushing ExesS, the Evil Ninja will finally face the “Baby-Oil Phenom” in the ring. IWS Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris has announced that he will be adding a stipulation to the match. No doubt he will try and assist his personal assassin, the Evil Ninja. FitzMorris’ stipulation will be announced during Bloodstream. The Sultans of Smirk, Jagged and Shane Matthews aka 2.0 will be putting their IWS unbeaten streak on the line at Breakout against the team of Dan Paysan and his hulking consigliere, Tomassino. Dan Paysan made it clear that he will settle for nothing less than a total victory, "See, I've known these 2.0 punks for a long time. They started in the construction business and I know all there is to know about construction and cement and all that stuff. It's a family thing. A lot of people don't know that they got the nickname 2.0 because a two count was all that they could get in the ring. You'll notice that they haven't lost any matches yet, but they also haven't pinned anyone yet either? Well at Breakout, I am going to make sure that their unbeaten streak comes screeching to an end. I mean I could stop it all by myself, but with Tomassino in my corner, there is no way that I can lose. And just to make sure that Tomassino is properly motivated, I have told him that his annual bonus will be based on his performance in this match." After losing his tag partner, Kurt Lauderdale, at Season’s Beatings after Kurt was fired, Kid Kamikaze has been looking for a new tag partner. This somehow resulted in a singles match between Double K and Fred la Merveille when Fred objected to the man that the Westmount Playboy was trying to recruit to join the Kid Kamikaze Experience. Months after betraying his tag partner, Viking, as well as Fred la Merveille, “Le Maudit Traitre” Damian has signed to face Viking. Damian indicated that he has gone back to the gym to prepare new moves to break Viking’s “fighting spirit”. Damian also said that he is annoyed that fans believe that Viking has a greater “fighting spirit’ than him, just because Viking survived catching on fire in April of 2003 during Freedom to Fight. The IWS presents BREAKOUT, Saturday, March 5th, 2005 at Bar Billiard Le Break on 20 Boulevard Cremazie East. Card subject to change. IWS Wrestler Profiles To mark the ROH debut of Kevin Steen and El Generico, we have written two profiles of these two IWS stars. They can be found here: The Secret Origin of El Generico: http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=24405 History of Kevin Steen: http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=24624 IWS Stars On Tour (Results) Stars of the IWS continue to impress as guests in promotions around the world. Jersey All Pro Wrestling – “Wild Card” – January 29th, 2005 - Rahway, New Jersey Proving that a smart wrestler always brings his gear, IWS champion Franky the Mobster and Dan Paysan came to watch the JAPW show and ended up wrestling. After a hasty conference call with IWS officials, an impromptu IWS title match between Franky the Mobster and ExesS was agreed to, the second time that ExesS has fought for the IWS title in JAPW. Dan Paysan lost to Deranged. JAPW Light Heavyweight Champion Azrael defeated Beef Wellington. Frankie the Mobster retained his title by defeating Excess. The Strong Style Thugs (B-Boy, Homicide & Low Ki) defeated Teddy Hart, El Generico & "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen, largely due to Teddy Hart. El Generico and Kevin Steen fought off the SST without Teddy Hart for most of the match as Hart injured his shoulder very early on and went to the back. Lo-Ki neutralized El Generico by stealing his mask, bringing Teddy Hart in, but he did more harm than good and led directly to Kevin Steen being pinned. Combat Zone Wrestling – Only the Strong Survive “Scarred For Life”– February 5th, 2005 – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania The Flying Hurricanes in their CZW debut defended their IWS tag team titles in a four team elimination match beating the teams of IWS’ El Generico and Beef Wellington, All Money is Legal and Ghost Shadow and Spyral Franky the Mobster in his CZW debut defended his IWS tag team title beating B-Boy and in the process won the CZW Iron Man title. In what was described by most fans as the Match of the Night, Mike Quackenbush beat Alex Shelley, IWS’ The Arsenal and IWS’ Sexxxy Eddy to claim the CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship. (Alex Shelley was the defending champion.) Pro Wrestling Guerilla – All Nude Revue! February 12th, 2005 – City of Industry, California El Generico lost to Alex Shelley, but had huge support from the crowd. The irony of the Tijuana native El Generico moving to Canada to become a star and now becoming an even bigger star in California as a result is striking. Kevin Steen lost to the Fallen Angel Chris Daniels in a rematch of the match between the two from Elite Wrestling Revolution in Quebec City from 2004 which Steen won and is regarded by many as the Canadian Match of the Year from 2004. Ring of Honour – Do or Die IV – February 18th, 2005 – Elizabeth, New Jersey El Generico earned “Please Come Back” chants in a losing effort during a four-way with Josh Daniels, Arik Cannon and the winner of the match Fast Eddie Vegas. In what virtually everyone are calling the Match of the Afternoon, Kevin Steen lost to B-Boy. According to Mike Johnson of http://www.pwinsider.com “Fast Eddie Vegas (with Dave Prazak) defeated El Generico (Internet Wrestling Syndicate), Josh Daniels and Arik Cannon (IWA Mid-South) in a good four way bout. If there was ever any question that a huge majority of the ROH audience are fans who live and die by the Internet, Generico's entrance got the biggest pop of the afternoon with the crowd going absolutely nuts and treating him like a top flight star… B-Boy (CZW, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla) defeated Kevin Steen (Internet Wrestling Syndicate). Steen, making his ROH debut, got a huge reaction coming out.” Despite losing their matches, El Generico and Kevin Steen impressed ROH management who have announced that both men fell into the “DO” category and will be invited back for more ROH shows. Chikara – Chikara World Tag Grand Prix Tournament (Night Two) – February 19th, 2005, Emmaus, Pennsylvania Beef J. Wellington and his trained bear, Bear defeated Darin Corbin and Version 2.0 El Generico and Kevin Steen defeated K-Murda and K-Pusha (All Money is Legal) Beef J. Wellington and Bear lost to Skayde and Milatino Collection El Generico and Kevin Steen defeated Jon Dahmer and DJ Hyde The Bear was probably the most popular wrestler of the entire tournament. Chikara – Chikara World Tag Grand Prix Tournament (Night Three) – February 20th, 2005, Pittson, Pennsylvania Matt Turner, Anthony Franco, JC Ryder & Lucky beat F.I.S.T. with "BJ & The Bear." El Generico and Kevin Steen lost to the “Super Friends” Chris Hero and Mike Quackenbush. IWS Stars on Tour (Future Shows) CZW Combat Zone Wrestling will present CZW Liberated And Coming Full Circle: Hellbound! Saturday night, March 12th at the CZW Arena (Viking Hall/ECW Arena) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. IWS Champion & CZW Iron Man Champion Franky The Mobster will be defending his CZW Iron Man Title, assuming that he successfully defends his titles in Montreal on March 5th during BREAKOUT. "The Sexxx Express" Sexxxy Eddy will be at the Arena, The Arsenal as well, and Beef Wellington will take on Spyral, Niles Young & Derek Frazier in a 4-way match. Check out www.czwwrestling.com for all the info. PWG Pro-Wrestling Guerilla presents "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" on March 12, 2005, at Frank and Sons in City of Industry, California, featuring Christopher Daniels vs. El Generico vs. Kevin Steen vs. AJ Styles in a Number One Contender’s Match for the PWG title. For more info check: http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/ El Generico El Generico will be making a tour of Germany and England in March. On March 19th, he will take part in a cruiserweight tournament featuring M-Dogg 20, Super Dragon and Steve Douglas for the wXw promotion in Essen, Germany. On March 20th, he will wrestle for IPW:UK in Orpington, Kent in a MAKE or BREAK - No Rules Tornado Tag Team Match featuring ‘New Superstar’ Stevie Douglas & Super Dragon vs. Aviv Maayan & El Generico. If El Generico wins the pinfall, he will be invited back to the next IPW:UK show to face Super Dragon for the PWG title. For more info check: http://www.ipwuk.com and: http://www.wxw-wrestling.net/ El Generico has also been invited to wrestle for Ian Rotten’s IWA-MS promotion on April 8th and 9th. For more info check: http://www.iwamidsouthwrestling.com/ Kevin Steen Kevin Steen will make his Japanese debut on Tuesday, March 15th, at the legendary Korakuen Hall in Tokyo during the ZERO1-MAX US-E Style show. He will also wrestle for World of Hurt Wrestling in Schnectady, New York on March 11th, 2005 along with Player Uno. 2. From the Time-Keeper’s Table Results from New Year’s Madness In what many fans in attendance are calling a five star classic, ROH champion Austin Aries narrowly avoided losing his title to “Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen during the semi-main of New Year’s Madness Two. The semi-annual “Madness” shows are put on by legendary Quebec wrestling trainer Marc the Grizzly. Because Marc is respected all across the province, he is able to get cooperation from many wrestling federations and arrange matches that would otherwise never happen. In this case, the show featured wrestlers from the IWS, NCW, EWR, MWF, CPW, FLQ, CWA and ROH. The show took place in the historic NDR Center, home to NCW. The hall was as packed as I have ever seen it, despite the fact that Saturday was bitterly cold. There were easily 400 people in attendance and the actual number in attendance could have been higher. The night was huge success for Marc despite the fact that John Walters, the ROH Pure Wrestling champ was unable to make the show when his connecting flight in Boston from Ghana was snowed in. Jack Evans had previously cancelled his appearance due to an injury last week during the WAR show in California. The quick and dirty results: Giovanni (EWR) beat J-Bustah (Connecticut) with a fireman’s carry power bomb at 5:46. In a six-pack challenge, the Triple X “Sex XXXpress” Sexxxy Eddy (IWS) hit his Total XXXtacy reverse swanton to pin Damian (IWS) at 11:46. The other participants in the match were Beef Wellington (IWS), Kid Kamikaze (IWS), Mr. Xtreme (EWR) and HellStorm (EWR). Michael Von Payton (CPW) and Tank (FLQ) beat the team of Kurt Lauderdale (IWS) and Nova Cain (NCW) in a battle of some of the biggest men in the province of Quebec. MVP pinned Nova Cain at 10:43 after a tilt-a-whirl slam. The Flying Hurricanes defended their IWS tag team titles beating the team of TNT Action (CWA) when Takao power bombed his own partner from the top rope with the Unpredictable Motion after 8:13. Franky the Mobster defended his IWS title beating Roderick Strong with a sit-out choke slam after 13:22. This is the second time that Roderick Strong has tried to win the IWS title and failed. He previously lost to Kevin Steen in an IWS title match during a JAPW show last year. (If memory serves, Halloween Hell.) Kevin Steen (IWS) won a four-way match to earn the right to face Austin Aries for the ROH title pinning El Generico (IWS) after 18:14. The other two participants in the match were former ROH champion Samoa Joe and ExesS (IWS). In a Four Way Tag Team Scramble Match, the team of BushWhacker Fred and BushWhacker Viking pinned the Latino Brothers after 17:08. The other two teams in the match were Adrenaline Rush (NCW) and the odd pairing of James Kraven (NCW) and the Arsenal (ex-IWS). Originally the fourth team in the match was supposed to be le SLI from IWS, but before the match started the owner of the IWS, PCP Crazy F’N Manny, came to the ring and announced that he wasn’t going to allow one of his premier tag teams to compete in a match with a man that he had fired - the Arsenal – instead at great expense ($50) he had flown in from New Zealand the BushWhackers. NCW Champion Chakal defended his title in 10:49, beating Handsome JF, a student of Jacques Rougeau Jr. who appeared on Sunday Night Heat last fall. In a four way high-flying match featuring NCW cruiser-weight champion Alex Price and Dan Paysan (IWS), the EWR champion Crazy Crusher pinned Player Uno (MWF) with his Inferno Death, a fireman’s carry slam after 12:20. As mentioned above, in an officially sanctioned ROH title match, Austin Aries defeated Kevin Steen with a 450 splash after 17:04. Kevin Steen, who was given the nickname “Mr. Wrestling” by the IWS fans, will make his official ROH debut on February 19th, during the Do or Die afternoon show. Ironically, Kevin has already fought for the ROH title twice, losing to Aries last night and battling Joe to a hard-fought draw during Mid-Summer Madness in July. In the Main Event, Pierre Carl Ouellet defeated CM Punk after 15:17 nearly taking Punk’s head off with a “Peace-Liner” I’ll have more detailed results on the IWS message board later on today or tomorrow, including a few words on the crowd’s reaction to the Chakal/Handsome JF match which was probably the worst reaction of a crowd to a match that I have ever seen, especially on a night when the crowd was hot for virtually every match, enthusiastically heckling the heels and cheering for their heroes. News and Notes from the IWS IWS Violent Valentines at LE DOME The International Wrestling Syndicate is pleased to announce that we have just signed to present our Violent Valentines show at le Club Dome on Friday, February 25th. They look forward to hosting the hardcore fans of the IWS. The IWS is also pleased to announce that immediately following Violent Valentines, we will be hosting a wet t-shirt contest. There will no longer be reserved seats for our events. We will only be printing enough VIP tickets to cover the first three rows by the ring and once those tickets are gone, they are gone. These tickets can be purchased in person from Brian the Guppie, Fred la Merveille, Dan Paysan, or Player Uno. They can also be purchased from our DJ Tony at the Superclub Videotron on 10410 Pie IX. They can also be purchased on-line. For more details contact [email protected] Un F’N Sanctioned News As IWS fans know our shows at the Medley are the shows where we pull out all the stops. Our Fans Bring the Weapons matches happen at best just once a year and are known for being the most insane hardcore matches seen in Canada. Either separately have to be seen to be believed, but when you combine the two in one show, it becomes a must see show. Saturday, March 26th the IWS present Un F’N Sanctioned. The main event will be Fans Bring the Weapons. The participants for the main event are not yet known. They will be announced during Violent Valentines. What we can announce is that Beef Wellington has had his “Inter-Species Open Challenge” answered in a dramatic fashion. At last week’s NCW show “Nuit du Blizzard” after a six man IWS match in which Team Wellington (Beef, Viking and Kenny the Bastard) beat the Kid Kamikaze Experience featuring Damian and Kevin Steen, Beef Wellington grabbed the mike to repeat his challenge to any animal to come face him at Un F’N Sanctioned on March 26th. Brian the Guppie interrupted Beef to inform him that IWS Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris had found an opponent to answer Beef’s challenge: Super-Dragon! As Beef put it that night, “On March 26th, I am going to get killed.” The IWS is also pleased to announce that performing live during Un F’N Sanctioned will be renowned horror metal band The Ghoulunatics. Long-time fans of the IWS, the Ghoulunatics have written a song about the Fans Bring the Weapons match called “Bestial Behaviour” which they have waiting for more than a year to play live before the actual match. They will get their chance on March 26th. Don’t miss this unique blend of music, wrestling and the most insane hardcore match ever presented in Canada! For more information on the band: http://www.ghoulunatics.com
  3. Man, if anyone ever wants to complain about venue problems, oy ***************************************************************************** A Message from Danny Cox: Due to unforeseen complications involving our relationship with bar Unison, the IWS regrets to inform you that we will NOT be presenting "Praise the Violence" on Saturday January 15th. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have secured a new venue for Violent Valentine in the heart of downtown Montreal. More details will be presented to you on that on incoming weeks. We appreciate the support of our fans, while we work through this obstacle. We here at the IWS would like thank you the fans for your support and patronage, Your dedication to this product is what makes bumps in the road like this bearable and keeps us all going. Thank you. We would also like to remind you that Un F’N Sanctioned is scheduled for March 26th at the Medley and will go ahead as planned. We will be selling tickets in advance before SmackDown on January 18th and during New Year’s Madness on January 22nd. Advance tickets will be $20 for V.I.P seats and $15 for regular seats. Fans with V.I.P. tickets will be let into the Medley first, will not have to stand in line after doors open and be able to choose their seats first. I would reccommend the just released Season's Beatings 2004.
  4. Sexxxy Eddy has a New Year's Resolution A New Year is a time for resolutions. For the International Wrestling Syndicate, it is the determination to build on a successful 2004; to continue to offer the best wrestling in Canada; and to build on the breakthroughs that our wrestlers had around the world as our hardcore ambassadors brought IWS action to the Northeast and to Southern California; to Germany and to England. For IWS star the Triple X "Sex XXXpress" Sexxxy Eddy, the New Year is a time to set his goal on regaining the IWS title, "Last year, I was the IWS' Sex Ambassador - I wowed them in Germany; I dazzled them in Britain; I brought them to their feet in New Jersey. In Delaware I made the finals of the Tournament of Death, drinking my own blood to do it, and that led to me winning a share of the Combat Zone Wrestling tag team title and becoming one of the biggest stars that Philadelphia has ever seen! This year, I'm going back on the road and I'm doing it with the ultimate fashion accessory: the IWS belt." Which would mean beating Franky the Mobster at Praise the Violence, "Hey, don't get me wrong. Franky has shown that he's a great champion - pinning Pierre Carl Ouellet twice in two months - but if you ask me, Franky is a man who is wound a little too tight. I don't know if it's too much caffeine or something else or if it's because he makes the ladies scream in fright instead of making them scream in delight, but he definitely needs to relax. So, at Praise the Violence, I am going to take the burden of the IWS gold off his shoulders when I pin him one, two, three in the middle of the ring and become the IWS champion for the third time." Franky's partner in crime, Kevin Steen has resolutions of his own: wrapping up unfinished business with his mentor Pierre Carl Ouellet. With Kevin Steen making his Ring of Honour debut February 19th against B-Boy at the same time that he is a regular with CZW in Philadelphia, JAPW in New Jersey and PWG in California, Kevin's schedule is becoming increasingly tight. On January 15th, in what may be his last match in Canada for some time, Mr. Wrestling will take on Pierre Carl Ouellet to settle once and for all who is the best: the student or the teacher. The IWS Baby Oil Phenom, EXesS begins the year with one burning desire: to take revenge on his old boss, Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris and the Commissioner's assassin, the Evil Ninja. Last month, those two men attacked EXesS backstage ruining an IWS dream match between EXesS and Sexxxy Eddy. That is a match that EXesS badly wants to give to the fans, but first he's taking out the Commissioner and his Ninja. Also scheduled for Praise the Violence, Player Uno will continue his quest to crack the IWS roster as he competes in a dark match against Shinjiro. HellStorm is a man who has already earned his place on the IWS roster… as a tag team specialist. But this does not satisfy the man who calls himself "Quebec's Only Pure Wrestler!" The Quebec City native has been badgering Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris for months to give him a singles match citing his match against Damian last April as proof of his ability. The Commissioner finally relented over Christmas promising to find Hell Storm a suitable opponent. At Praise the Violence, HellStorm will face Calgary Stampede's "King of the Suplexes" Kid Nichols, as Nichols prepares for his upcoming WWE SmackDown dark match. Other matches will be announced on IWS Bloodstream scheduled to be released this Friday. Like the IWS' fans, IWS co-owner Danny Cox was horrified by the actions of his partner Manny Elefthriou during Season's Beatings - firing Kurt Lauderdale in the middle of the ring, taunting the crowd and ex-IWS wrestler the Arsenal and nearky starting a riot in the process. Over the holidays, Danny Cox released the following statement: "On behalf of myself and Carol, I would like to wish the best of the holidays to all of the fans, staff and wrestlers of the International Wrestling Syndicate. We are very fortunate in the IWS to have the support of the best fans in the world, who followed us to seven different venues this year and cheered us on as we made great breakthroughs - appearing on PPV across Canada; getting our IWS wrestlers booked around the world and most nights seeing them steal the show; and seeing our videos taped, edited and released around the world by Smart Mark Video. But even if 2004 was our most successful year to date, we did have some small failures along the way. On behalf of the entire IWS management team, I would like to extend my apologies to the IWS fans and the IWS wrestlers for what happened in the ring at Seson's Beatings on December 18th. It never should have happened and I am taking steps to ensure that it never happens again. I would also like to thank Franky the Mobster and Pierre Carl Ouellet who, in a very difficult situation, saved the show with a dynamite main event. As you all know I have always been a big supporter of free speech. It has come to my attention that my partner Manny has been doing his best to suppress the footage of what happened December 18th between himself, Kurt and the Arsenal. I have given permission to Mike Burns of Smart Mark Video to release the footage of what happened that night, unedited, but I think that I need to do more. It turns out that one of our "broomboys" was shooting footage at the show for a mini-documentary that played on CFCF-12 before Christmas. I have decided to make the footage that he shot of that incident available to all of our fans on the IWS web-site. Decide for yourselves. Again, I would like to wish all of our fans the happiest of holidays, I would like to thank you all for supporting us during 2004 and I invite you to stick around in 2005 as we plan on having an even better year to come." The two videos of the incident are available here: http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/i...2/arseshoot.wmv http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/i...2/aftermath.wmv Please note that this footage was shot by a student on his personal camera, and is an incomplete version of the incident. A complete professionally shot version of the incident is available on the Smart Mark Video VHS and DVD of Season's Beatings. Contact Smart Mark Video at http://www.smartmarkvideo.com The Internet Wrestling Syndicate presents Praise the Violence, January 15th at Unison Bar et Billiard, 3500 Boulevard Cote Vertu, Montreal, Québec. Card subject to change. Doors open at 7:00 PM, IWS Bloodstream begins at 7:30 PM, show starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets are fifteen dollars. For information about the show e-mail [email protected] or visit the Internet Wresting Syndicate at their web-site: www.syndicatewrestling.com For information about IWS merchandise & DVDs, our wholesale prices or our customer referral program e-mail [email protected] or order from www.xrv.com/its or from Smart Mark Video: www.smartmarkvideo.com (To reach Unison on foot, go to metro Cote Vertu and take either the 121 or 177 bus and get off on the corner of Cote Vertu and Beaulac. For those coming to Montreal from outside of town, take Autoroute 13, turn off on the 40 service road to Cote Vertu and take Cote Vertu to Beaulac.)
  5. Official Results for IWS Season’s Beatings (December 18th) IWS Bloodstream for December: http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/m...media/bsdec.wmv (Worth seeing just for the amazing Pierre Carl Ouellet promo at the end.) During the traditional IWS Christmas Tree match, Beef Wellington celebrates Hannukah by hitting Shinto worshipper Evil Ninja over the head with a gift-wrapped light tube. (Caught in mid-shatter!) Quick and Dirty Results Player Uno beat Dave Trips. 8:44 Fred la Merveille & Viking beat Matt Classic & Tomassino. 16:11 Chikara Six Man Tag: Technicos beat Rudos 14:19 (Gran Akuma pinned Black Jack Marciano with a Code Red after a running palm strike by Mike Quackenbush to the back of Black Jack Marciano’s head) Evil Ninja beat Beef Wellington in the traditional IWS Christmas Tree match. 10:34 The Triple X “Sex XXXpress” Sexxxy Eddy beat Damian with a Total Sexxxtacy after Damian’s former tag partner Viking attacked him. 12:28 Flying Hurricanes retained their IWS tag team title pinning Sabian with the Unpredictable Motion. 19:16 Franky the Mobster retains his IWS title and beat Pierre Carl Ouellet. 13:32 From the Time Keeper’s Table: Official Report on Season’s Beating’s This is not an easy report for me to write. The show that we just had on Saturday may well have been the best show that we have ever had, and the worst. It was a night when we made the fans as happy as I have ever seen them, and pissed them off royally. The most promising big man in Quebec was publicly humiliated and fired in the ring, and the best veteran in Quebec snapped. We presented a match that has never been seen in Quebec, and we did a match that we do every year but in a way that it has never been done before. It was a night where we looked to the future, and a night where we returned to our roots, only to find some of those roots had gone dark and twisted. It’s no secret that the International Wrestling Syndicate is owned by Manny Eleftriou aka PCP Crazy F’N Manny along with his silent partner Danny Cox. What is not so well known is that Manny, my boss, is insane. Every few months or so, Manny goes on an ego trip, and the most dangerous place to be back stage is standing between Manny and a live mike. On Saturday, Manny made one of these unplanned tirades, and nearly started a riot. In the process, five years worth of dirty laundry came spilling out in the middle of the ring. Just to give a little background, about four months ago, just before our Freedom to Fight show, we worked out a deal with Mike Burns of Smart Mark Video where he would drive down eight hundred miles to Montreal to tape our shows and then drive back eight hundred miles to edit them and release them on VHS within a week and on DVD within two weeks. Obviously, we were thrilled. Now, no one drives eight hundred miles, just for the money they could make off our shows. Clearly, Mike Burns does it because he loves our product. It’s a huge professional compliment. The day that this news was announced was one of the best days that we have ever had, everyone was happy… except for Derek Arsenault. It is also no great secret, that Derek Arsenault, the IWS video editor is also The Arsenal, an IWS veteran and former IWS champion. I admire Derek a great deal, he is one of the most talented people that I know. (I am actually a distant cousin of Derek’s, my Grand-Mother was an Arsenault from New-Brunswick.) He is also one of the most self-destructive. On the day that we announced that Mike Burns was coming to our shows, Derek went onto the message board run by czwfans.com and posted a rant about how we would not need Smart Mark Video to come down to Montreal, if other people in the IWS would do there job properly. There was a lot of truth in what he posted, but it was a totally inappropriate time and place to post it. I remember reading it with a sinking feeling in my gut, wondering, if I was Mike Burns, why would I even get in the car and make that insane drive to help these ungrateful punks? That night, Manny woke me up at two o’clock in the morning, ranting. He does that a lot. He told me that he was going to fire Derek before the next show. Take the hi-lite reel from him and throw him out of the building as soon as he walked in. And to my immense regret, I had a chance to argue with Manny and tell him that he was over-reacting that it was just a post on the internet. Instead, I went back to sleep. I probably would not have won the argument, actually scratch that, I never win arguments with Manny. But I would feel better about it, and I apologize publicly to the Arsenal for not standing up for him when I had the chance. I also apologize to the fans for keeping my mouth shut about the whole situation, I was under orders, but that is no excuse. Manny told the entire locker room that what happens in the back, stays in the back and that any wrestler who could not keep his mouth shut or control his friends would be fired like the Arsenal. Last month, during the main event of Born to Bleed, a six man elimination match for the IWS title, a fan threw a half full pitcher of beer at Kevin Steen. Honestly, I am not sure what was worse, throwing a glass pitcher at Kevin, hitting him in the face with it or spilling the beer. I am not a religious man, but for a Canadian like myself, spilling beer is tantamount to blasphemy. The fan was from Hemmingford and wrestling fans from Hemmingford take wrestling seriously. The fan was also a friend, better make that a follower of Hemmingford’s own Kurt Lauderdale. On Saturday night, after the IWS tag team match, where the Flying Hurricanes defended their titles pinning Sabian of CZW’s Black Out, Kurt Lauderdale and his tag partner were left in the ring after blowing a chance to win the titles. What we had planned was that we would finally pull the trigger on the break-up between Kid Kamikaze and Kurt Lauderdale. Double K ended up being saved from a beating however when Manny came out with Kurt Lauderdale’s bag. Brian the Guppie, our ring announcer and a member of the IWS management, tried unsuccessfully to reason with Manny, as he ordered Dylan (Kid Kamikaze) to the back and threw Kurt’s bag at him, firing Kurt in public and having security throw him out of the building. From what I can tell, Kurt got straight into his truck and drove straight to Hemmingford without looking back… and I don’t blame him a bit. Leaving aside the unfairness of firing Kurt for the actions of his friends, firing Kurt is down right stupid. Ever since Kurt got in the ring with Sid Vicious and stared him straight in the eyes, Kurt has been on a roll. It’s as though Kurt realized in that moment just how big he was, and how dangerous he should be in the ring. Publicly humiliating the most promising big man in Quebec, firing him, it is beyond stupid, it is insane. Manny went on to nearly start a riot, attacking our fans verbally, and blaming them for the fact that where he used to love wrestling, now he hates it. We are so fortunate in the IWS to have these big great hot crowds of knowledgeable fans and here we have the owner of the company attacking them. He even had our DJ, Stab, play the Arsenal’s theme music and then tell them that the Arsenal was fired and was never coming back. It was at this point that the crowd intervened, literally picking up the Arsenal, who was watching the show as a fan and carrying him to the ring. Manny, astonishingly, surrendered the mike to the Arsenal who delivered an emotional promo, attacking Manny for firing him over a post on the internet, after five years of destroying his body for Manny. It was inevitable that the two men came to blows. The only consolation for me is that the Arsenal really stiffed Manny before Manny’s security grabbed the Arsenal and Manny got some cheap shots in, busting up the Arsenal the hard way, cutting him over his eyebrow. Manny then had the Arsenal thrown out onto the street like Kurt. This may be the last IWS report that I write. I know that Manny would prefer that the exact details of what was said Saturday be kept under wraps. I overheard a conversation with Mike Burns where he asked Mike to edit out what happened in the ring, but to his credit Mike Burns refused. At this point, the cat is out of the bag and Manny has only himself to blame that what happened back stage has spilled out. Having spoken to the rest of the IWS management, we are all of us, deeply disturbed by what happened on Saturday. We would like to extend our apologies to the fans, to Kurt and to the Arsenal, as well as to Pierre Carl Ouellet and Franky the Mobster who had the difficult task of saving the show with an amazing main event. Official Results for Season’s Beatings The show started with the first IWS dark match, showcasing two young promising Quebec wrestlers, Dave Trips and Player Uno. Despite Dave Trips thuggish behaviour, Uno won over the crowd with his high-flying antics. The eight-bit warrior also won the match pinning Trips with the Game Genie, a rope assisted pile driver after 8:44. After Blood Stream, Fred La Merveille and Viking were scheduled to face “La Maudit Traitre” Damian along with Matt Classic, but Damian ducked the match telling Fred that he wasn’t big enough for Damian to bother with and sending out Tomassino instead. Tomassino and Matt Classic combined to beat Fred and Viking into a pulp, before Fred rallied and he and Viking pinned matt Classic with “La Tueur des Policiers” after 16:11. After the match, Fred challenged Damian to come to the ring and face him like a man, but Damian refused to come out. The IWS showcased U.S. promotion Chikara Pro who put on a dazzling six man tag done in the traditional style of a Mexican lucha libre match. Mike Quackenbush was a revelation for Montreal fans, smooth as silk and crisp a new bill. His technico team of Shane Storm and Gran Akuma beat the rudo team of Hallowicked, Ultra Mantis Black and Black Jack Marciano when Gran Akuma pinned Black Jack Marciano with a Code Red after a running palm strike by Mike Quackenbush to the back of Black Jack Marciano’s head after 14:19. Every year at Christmas, the IWS has a Christmas tree match. Unfortunately, the man who always wrestles in this match, the IWS hardcore hero, the Green Phantom, was unable to compete after fracturing his elbow five months ago during Body Count. Taking his place was Hannukah worshipping Beef Wellington who took on the Evil Ninja who follows the Shinto religion. Despite the lack of connection to the Christmas tree, the two men got into the spirit of the match, beating the living hell out of each other with the tree and with gift-wrapped light tubes. (See Picture Above.) The Evil Ninja emerged triumphant after hitting a Pearl Harbour on Beef through a table while the Ninja’s boss Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris held Beef down. The Evil Ninja rolled Beef in for the pin at 10:34. The Sultans of Smirk, 2.0, came to the ring dressed as Mr. And Mrs. Claus, and allow me just to say, Jagged has stunning breasts for a man. They announced that 2.0 would be the year of 2.0 and that they would be the new Hardcore Heroes of the IWS, and the new Two Man War. They stopped short of declaring themselves the new Hi-5 however. The two men also entered their name in the hat to take part in the IWS “Fans Bring the Weapons” match scheduled for March 26th at the Medley in downtown Montreal. Sexxxy Eddy, just back from his tour of Europe, was originally scheduled to face EXesS in a match that wrestling fans have been looking forward to for a long time. But Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris and his Evil Ninja attacked EXesS back stage and the Commissioner sent out Damian in ExesS’ place. The ensuing match pitted the stiffest wrestler in Quebec, Damian against the human rubber ball, Sexxxy Eddy. Throughout the match, Damian escalated the violence, but Eddy managed just barely to avoid the pin, time after time. In the end, Eddy was rescued by Damian’s former tag partner, Viking, who attacked Damian giving Eddy a chance to hit The Total Sexxxtacy for the win after 12:28. Also, of note, before the match Eddy’s sexy valet, D-Vyn turned on him and kneed him in the balls for sleeping around on her. Former CZW tag team champions the Black Out, Sabian and Ruckus, drove down from Philadelphia to face IWS tag champs, the Flying Hurricanes, Takao and Kenny the Bastard, as well as The Kid Kamikaze Experience featuring Kurt Lauderdale. Black Out and their manager were a little disconcerted about how we do things in Canada, complaining about the lack of ring barriers and the continuous pounding on the ring of the fans. After much stalling, the former CZW tag champs finally got down to business and proved to be a good match for the Flying Hurricanes, with Ruckus being especially impressive in the ring. All three teams had chances to win, but in the end the IWS champions retained their titles with Takao and Kenny the Bastard pinning Sabian with the Unpredictable Motion after 19:16 It was at this point that Manny came to the ring and fired Kurt Lauderdale, which nearly started a riot. In the main event of Season’s Beatings, the IWS champion, Franky the Mobster faced off against Pierre Carl Ouellet in a match of two of the biggest stars in Canada. The fans were thrilled by the unexpected return of the Green Phantom who acted as guest referee. One man not happy to see the Green Phantom return is PCO, who lost the match after a sit-out power bomb by Franky the Mobster at 13:32. Virtually everyone around the ring other than the Green Phantom insist that PCO had his shoulder up when Phantom counted three. A frustrated PCO attacked the IWS referee and ring crew, as well as IWS Commissioner Seska, leaving the ring filled with unconscious bodies to end the show. 6. IWS Scheduled For a Black-Out (News and Notes for IWS Season’s Beatings December 18th) Just days after losing their CZW tag team titles, Sabian and Ruckus confirmed that they intend to crash the annual Christmas party of the International Wrestling Syndicate, Season’s Beatings. According to back stage rumours, Black-Out got into a back stage confrontation with one fourth of the new tag team champs, Sexxxy Eddy, telling him that they were coming to Montreal on December 18th and that if they couldn’t get their titles back from him, that they would take the IWS tag team titles instead. We look forward to seeing the former Combat Zone Wrestling tag team champions in action. We would like to warn our uninvited guests however that the current IWS tag team champions, the Flying Hurricanes won’t hand over their titles without a fight. Takao and Kenny the Bastard’s scheduled opponents for Season’ Beatings, the Kid Kamikaze Experience featuring Kurt Lauderdale are also unlikely to step aside for Black-Out. This was previously announced, but it bears repeating: Sun Youth & the IWS Tag Team to Fight Hunger Sun Youth and the International Wrestling Syndicate are teaming up to fight hunger this Christmas. Before and during the next IWS show, Season's Beatings on December 18th, we will be collecting non-perishable food items at Unison Bar & Billiards, 3500 Cote Vertu. Anyone who brings by at least two non-perishable food items will be entered in a draw for free IWS merchandise. Even if you don't plan to attend the show, drop by your donation at Unison Bar and Billiard anytime after 11 am and your name will be entered in the draw. Help Sun Youth make this a jolly season for all... And at the same time, enjoy a Hardcore Hannukah, some Christmas Carnage and the best Kwaanza Ass-Kicking that only the International Wrestling Syndicate can provide as Pierre Carl Ouellet, Franky the Mobster, the Flying Hurricanes, Chikara and the rest of the IWS crew present Season's Beatings. Food Donations for Sun Youth can also be dropped off at their offices at 4251 St-Urbain. For more information about Sun Youth's Christmas Food Drive, please contact Johanne Satrelli at 514-842-6822 or by e-mail at [email protected] Beef Wellington Must Fight the Evil Ninja! After the hideous internal injuries suffered at the hands of Damian during Born to Bleed, IWS star Beef Wellington had to be med-evaced to an undisclosed Caribbean Island where his shapely female doctors over-prescribed fruity alcoholic beverages capped with tiny umbrellas... Upon returning to Montreal, Beef rushed to the IWS head offices to continue to plug his “Inter-Species Open Challenge” scheduled for Un F’N Sanctioned, March 26th. In the process, he annoyed IWS Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris so much that the Commissioner sicced his personal assassin, Evil Ninja on Beef. The IWS Announces Dark Matches Beginning with Season’s Beatings, the IWS will feature a dark match before Blood Stream each show to give a try out to the many wrestlers looking for an opportunity to prove their abilities in front of the best fans in Canada. In this inaugural bout, Player Uno will make his IWS debut. Any wrestlers interested in a dark match try out with the IWS should write to yours truly at [email protected] IWS Impresses at JAPW On Friday, December 10th, IWS stars took part in Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s Christmas gala, Season’s Beatings. Beef Wellington beat Rush Margera in a match described as the funniest of the night. Kevin Steen beat Sexxxy Eddy with the Steenalizer in a great match. El Generico and Jack Evans stole the show and tore down the house in a match to determine the number one contender for JAPW’s light heavyweight title. Sadly, Jack Evans came out on top, but El Generico continues to impress US fans. IWS at CZW’s Cage of Death Six On Saturday, December 11th, IWS stars took part in Combat Zone Wrestling’s biggest show of the year, Cage of Death Six. Former tag partners, Beef Wellington and Kid Kamikaze clashed with Beef’s former valet and girlfriend, Elsa Bangz, in Double K’s corner. Kid Kamikaze won his CZW debut with Elsa’s help. After the match, Beef Wellington got revenge on Elsa with his E. Coli pile driver. Then to a thunderous ovation, Sexxxy Eddy came out from the back to rescue Elsa and carry her to the back. The unlikely duo of El Generico and Kevin Steen lost to the So-Cal duo of Super Dragon and Excalibur. Most people in attendance have said that Kevin Steen then “turned” on El Generico. From what we know however, before the match Kevin Steen warned El Generico that if Generico embarrassed him by losing the match, Steen would beat the shit out of him in retaliation. Super Dragon and Excalibur rescued El Generico from Kevin Steen only to attack him in turn with Excalibur holding El Generico on a chair so that Super Dragon could hit him with a top-rope curb stomp. For most fans this was the match of the night. Sexxxy Eddy took part in one of two cage matches and emerged victorious becoming CZW tag team champ along with his partners in Team Ca$h. Eddy broke out the “Stupid-Sault” for the event, moon-saulting off the twenty foot cage with a garbage can over his head. 7. I am not sure how many people on this board are planning to come to our show, but for all of those who aren't, because you don't live near enough to Montreal, I would urge you to make a donation to your local food bank in the name of your local wrestling promotion or suggest to your local wrestling promotion that they do something similar to what we are doing to mark the holiday season. You'll feel good about it. Your wrestling promotion will feel good about it. And you would be amazed how much positive FREE publicity your local wrestling promotion can get from DJs eager to say "Hardcore Hannukah" on the air. ********************************************************************** Sun Youth & the IWS Tag Team to Fight Hunger Sun Youth and the International Wrestling Syndicate are teaming up to fight hunger this Christmas. 8. Franky the Mobster Short One Mob Franky the Mobster finds himself facing the biggest challenge of his life as he must beat an angry Pierre Carl Ouellet to defend his newly won International Wrestling Syndficate. title, during Season’s Beatings, December 18th. Franky won the title after being the last man standing in a six man elimination match, pinning PCO, and helped immensely by a thunderous chair shot that his partner in crime Kevin Steen delivered on PCO right after being eliminated. This match is beset by ironies. While Kevin Steen helped Franky win the IWS title, he won’t be in Franky’s corner to help him defend the title as Kevin Steen will be in California wrestling for Pro Wrestling Guerrila. IWS fans will remember that it was in Kevin Steen’s first title defence that Franky the Mobster made his surprise debut, helping Kevin maintain his title by ambushing El Generico and guest referee PCO. The greatest irony of all may be that since that match PCO has been a little confused, believing himself at times to be back in the WWE, facing WWE wrestlers. Kevin Steen’s chair shot appears to have returned PCO to his senses, and a furious PCO wants both his title back and payback on Franky the Mobster for having stolen six months of his life. As previously announced, the US promotion Chikara will be sending Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, and Shane Storm to face Ultra Mantis Black, Hallowicked and another member of the Chikara roster in one of Chikara’s famous six man tags. Chikara is a promotion built on a respect for the traditions and rules of Mexican lucha libre wrestling. This is a rare opportunity for Canadian wrestling fans to see a match like this, this far north. Just returned from his tour of England and Germany, IWS hero the Triple X “Sex XXXpress” Sexxxy Eddy has decided to fill the Christmas list of many of his fans by finally wrestling ExesS one on one. This is a match that many people have been waiting to see for a very long time, pitting as it does two of Canada’s finest high flyers. Former member of the SLI, Damian aka “Le Maudit Traitre” has decided to stop running and face the men he has betrayed, his former leader, Fred la Merveille and his former partner and best friend, Viking, In order to even out the odds, Damian has recruited and ally of convenience, a man with similar goals to his own to break out in the United States, Matt Classic. Also scheduled for Season’s Beatings, IWS tag team champions, the Flying Hurricanes will defend their titles against the Kid Kamikaze Experience. This may be the ‘Canes most challenging defence yet as Takao and Kenny the Bastard will have to contend with the brutal Kurt Lauderdale, Kid Kamikaze’s partner. More matches will be announced during Bloodstream, IWS monthly half-hour web video show, which should be out later this week. 9. Chikara for Christmas! Christmas is a time for traditions. For some it is choosing and decorating the perfect Christmas tree; for others it is cooking the perfect Christmas feast; for still others it is celebrating the seasons by singing joyous Christmas carols; and then there are those who celebrate the season by inviting masked Mexican wrestlers into their homes to tear down the house... Well that last tradition is not one celebrated by many, but it is a tradition of the International Wrestling Syndicate, at least if you can call it a tradition when it starts this year... The International Wrestling Syndicate is pleased to welcome Mike Quackenbush and the roster of Chikara who will journey from the United States to make their Canadian debut during IWS Season’s Beatings, Saturday, December 18th. Chikara wrestling is a U.S. based wrestling fed which follows the traditions and rules of Mexican lucha libre wrestling. This is a unique opportunity to see a traditional Lucha Libre six man tag team match presented here in Canada. We encourage all fans of wrestling to come to Season’s Beating’s to witness a match rarely if ever seen this far north. The “technico” or good guy team during this six man tag will feature as captain "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush - The Master of a Thousand Holds! His partners will be Jigsaw - A Wrestling Riddle Wrapped in an Enigma! and Shane Storm - Unionized Traffic Regulator! The “rudo” or evil team will feature UltraMantis Black - Angry Insect Evildoer! and Hallowicked - Dark Minion of the Underworld! Their third partner and the Captain of this team have not as yet been determined. 10. Franky the Mobster is Rated Champion http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/i...2004/iws079.jpg Franky the Mobster was crowned the new International Wrestling Syndicate Champion on Saturday night concluding another tremendously successful IWS gala - Born to Bleed. Franky, who had been brought into the IWS by former champion Kevin Steen to watch his back, saw an opportunity to seize the IWS gold and took it, outlasting five other men in a six man elimination match. Born to Bleed began with IWS Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris and IWS President Seska, in a rare moment of unity, coming out together to announce that the IWS would be returning to the Medley in downtown Montreal on March 26th for Un F’N Sanctioned with the main event being a Fans Bring the Weapons match. The IWS is notorious for putting on legendary shows at the Medley and March’s show promises to be no different. Seska and FitzMorris also announced that the IWS was changing its name from the “Internet Wrestling Syndicate” to the “International Wrestling Syndicate” to reflect the increasingly international presence of the company and its’ wrestlers. This announcement brought out D-Vyn, the valet of Sexxxy Eddy, to complain that Eddy was in Europe wrestling for wXw in Germany and IPW:UK in England, but that no one had thought to inform her that he was leaving the country. D-Vyn was also upset by Sexxxy Eddy’s rather shocking appearance on Bloodstream. (Watch Bloodstream here: http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/m...odstreamnov.wmv to see why D-Vyn was so upset. Not suitable for all viewers. Recommended for mature audiences.) For some reason, D-Vyn blamed President Seska for all of this and much to Commissioner FitzMorris’ disgust, a cat-fight broke out that took three referees to break up. Born to Bleed’s first match saw the returning Latin Brothers, Carlos and Juan Carlos take on the makeshift team of Crazy Crusher and Hell Storm. The crowd gave the Latin twins a muted welcome back, but the brothers quickly won the approval of the crowd with a number of incredible double team maneuvers including an amazing double moonsault from the top rope to the outside where both brothers landed on their feet. Despite some miscommunications, Hell Storm and Crazy Crusher kept up with the flying Latinos, delivering stiff double teams of their own. While they do not tag with each other as a general rule, Crusher and Storm are also brothers and as the match went on, the two brothers began gelling as a team. In the end, the Latin Brothers appeared to have won the match, but Carlos celebrated too quickly and while he was on the top turn buckle posing for the crowd, his brother was busy being pinned by Storm and Crusher at 6:21. After the match, a mysterious stranger came to the ring saying that he had just finished a tour promoting brotherhood and good-will through wrestling and offered his services to the two as manager. Matt Classic made his return to the IWS, quickly angering the crowd by announcing that he had not made his return for them, but rather had come back for the cameras of Smart Mark Video who tape the IWS shows for release in the United States and around the world. Matt announced that he had scoured Quebec for a wrestler good enough to show off Matt’s skills... and then brought out Frank le Vengeur. The match that followed was an extended squash with Matt breaking some innovative offense including his “Classic Finish” a fireman’s carry power bomb onto his knee for the win at 4:04. Many people wondered how Viking would react to Damian’s betrayal of the leader of the SLI, Fred la Merveille. Before their match with 2.0, Viking announced to the crowd and Damian that Fred would always be his “chef” but that Damian was his best friend and that if Damian was quitting the SLI, so would he. Despite this, Damian walked away from Viking and the match two minutes in, leaving his former best friend to be double-teamed by 2.0. Eventually, Marc le Grizzly came to Viking’s aid, but 2.0 had already beaten Viking down so much that they were able to throw Grizzly out of the ring and hold on for a count-out victory, their third in a row, at 7:08. After the match, to the roars of the crowd, Fred la Merveille came to the ring to deliver a beat down to 2.0 ending with his trademark “101” pedigree to Shane Matthews from the top rope through a table. Kid Kamikaze has spent most of the year trying to get into the good graces of IWS Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris, but when push came to shove, the Commissioner chose Evil Ninja to be his personal assassin. Kid Kamikaze challenged the Evil Ninja to a match at Born to Bleed to prove that the Commissioner made a mistake. The “Technical Wizard” of the IWS did prove once again that he is a great technical wrestler, but Double K allowed his anger to overcome his good judgement and finished a series of counters and reversals involving a chair by punching that chair into the Evil Ninja’s face... and breaking a bone in his hand in the process. The Evil Ninja took advantage of Kid Kamikaze’s injury to land a tombstone pile driver from the top rope through a table. At this point, the Evil Ninja could have simply pinned Kid Kamikaze. Instead, the Evil Ninja, at Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris’ prompting, put Double K into the Stretch Muffler, EXesS’ submission finisher. Kid Kamikaze’s limp hand was raised and dropped three times giving the Evil Ninja the win at 10:37. No doubt this was intended as a message to EXesS. Beef Wellington asked permission from IWS management to have the night off at Born to Bleed so that he could make an important announcement. Beef, who made wrestling history by beating a live Grizzly Bear earlier this year, announced that for the Un F’N Sanctioned gala in March that he was issuing “an Open Challenge for an Inter-Species Match!” Any animal species interested in answering Beef's open challenge should contact Beef Wellington at [email protected] At this point, Damian came to the ring and mocked Beef, demanding to know why a clown like Beef was being invited to the United States while a superior wrestler like himself was left behind. An impromptu match quickly broke out. Beef proved once again that in addition to being the funniest wrestler in North America, he is also a gifted technical wrestler matching Damian move for move. The two men also proved that you don’t need weapons to have a hardcore match, beating the living hell out of one another. In the end, Damian won because he was simply prepared to be more brutal than Beef, delivering multiple top rope foot stomps to Beef’s head and ribs that left Beef bleeding from internal injuries. Damian finished Beef off after 10:49. Damian had little chance to celebrate his victory however as Fred la Merveille hit the ring and Damian took off through the crowd with Fred in hot pursuit. The Flying Hurricanes, Takao and Kenny the Bastard had their second title defence against the team of Dan Paysan and his consigliere Tomassino, in a match where Tomassino elevated his game, dominating Takao and Kenny the Bastard. In fact, he elevated Kenny so much it looked like Kenny was being repeatedly dropped from a second story building. The Flying Hurricanes proved their incredible resiliency again in this match, surviving Tomassino’s offensive flurry and Dan Paysan’s high-flying antics and then sneaking out the win as Takao pinned Dan Paysan at 15:33, with Tomassino distracted outside the ring. The six pack elimination match, pitting EXesS against Kurt Lauderdale against El Generico against Franky the Mobster against Pierre Carl Ouellet against IWS champion Kevin Steen, will probably go down on the books as the best IWS main event ever and that is saying a lot. In front of a crowd so molten that fans had to be prevented from attacking IWS champion Kevin Steen, the six men tore the house down. The hi-lite of the match was Kevin Steen risking his life with a forward moonsault from a fifteen foot scaffold onto his five challengers, but that was just one of many incredible maneuvers. EXesS was the first to be pinned, falling victim to a run-in by the Evil Ninja who broke a light tube on EXesS’ head. This led to EXesS being pinned by Kevin Steen at 19:05. Kevin and Franky the Mobster combined to eliminate Kurt Lauderdale at 21:09. To the shock and approval of the crowd, El Generico hit a huge Brain Buster on Kevin Steen to eliminate the champion at 22:17 and guarantee that a new IWS champion would be crowned. To the crowd’s disgust, Kevin Steen in a fit of pique and bad sportsmanship, returned to the ring to give PCO a blistering chair shot and then stun El Generico with his patented Package Pile Driver on to the open chair, allowing Franky the Mobster to get the easy pin to eliminate El Generico at 23:21. That left just Franky the Mobster and PCO. The two big men brawled in and out of the ring with Franky breaking out a suicide dive to the outside to slow PCO down. The three time WWE tag team champion had a number of golden chances to win the IWS gold for a second time, but a series of delayed pins gave Franky a chance to stay in the game, and when Franky had the chance to hit his Credibility Statement choke-slam power bomb, he took full advantage, getting the pin at 30:18 and becoming the new IWS champion. Almost a year ago, some IWS fans showed their contempt for Franky the Mobster at a Quebec inter-promotional show by chanting “Over-Rated” at him. Now Franky, perhaps the most hated man in Quebec wrestling, has his sweet revenge or as Franky puts it, “How do you rate me now?” For the moment, IWS fans are forced to rate him: Champion. The thought that we are somehow lacking edge when we just had Eddy getting a blow job on Bloodstream drives me nuts. (heh) Also as I have bitched elsewhere, the fact that a show where: Kevin Steen did a forward moonsault off a 15 foot scaffold Franky did a suicide dive into the second row Fred gave Shane Matthews a 101 pedigree from the top through a table http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/i...411/pic075.html Kid Kamikaze took a tombstone Pile Driver through a table http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/i...411/pic100.html Damian gave Beef repeated top rope double foot stomps to the chest ...that all of this is somehow not hardcore. Drives me crazy. Mind you, I tend to believe that hardcore doesn't have to involve steel, glass or fire. Mind you this stuff cycles. We do a show where we break out glass and barbed wire and stuff and someone bleeds buckets and then we do shows where the hardcore comes from moves and holds and dives for a couple of months and people bitch and then we break out the barbed wire again and the cycle starts over. (This cycle by the way has been going on since 2001. I remember people complaining about the IWS losing its edge a mere two months after our second FBTW match with Lobo.)
  12. Kevin Steen Faces His Greatest Challenge Kevin Steen may be the only Canadian in history to hate a six-pack. Of course, for most Canadians, a six-pack is a half dozen frosty refreshing beverages, but for Kevin Steen, the International Wrestling Syndicate champion, a six-pack means that at Born To Bleed, Saturday, November 20th, he will have to face and defeat five other opponents to keep his precious gold, and he is not happy about it. Steen’s only consolation is that one of his five opponents is his ally Franky the Mobster. But the other four men in the six man elimination match have no reason to like Kevin Steen and every reason to pin him for the IWS title: EXesS, El Generico, Pierre Carl Ouellet and the Career Killer, Kurt Lauderdale. The most dominant tag team in Quebec, Viking and Damian, are scheduled to wrestle at Born to Bleed, but many questions surround this team beginning with how they will be announced. After Damian turned on Fred la Merveille, will they continue to use the name Syndicat de Lutte International? Or will they return to their old name, Angry Aryans? Most importantly, how will Viking react to Damian’s decision to attack Fred? Backstage rumours indicate that Viking is trying to act as a peacemaker, papering over the differences between the two men, telling Fred that he will always be Viking’s “chef”, but that Damian is his best friend. One thing is certain is that their opponents, the Sultans of Smirk, Jagged and Shane Matthews, better known as 2.0, are hoping to use any hint of dissension to secure another cheap victory. While the old tag team champions, Viking and Damian, struggle to prove that they deserve another chance at their gold, the new champions, the Flying Hurricanes, Takao & Kenny the Bastard, will defend their titles against Dan Paysan and his hulking consigliere, Tomassino. Apparently, Dan has decided that he needs a new wardrobe and that the perfect accessory would be the IWS tag team gold. As IWS fans know, Dan tends to expect to get whatever he wants, but the ‘Canes will not hand over their belts without a fight. Last month, Kid Kamikaze battled EXesS in yet another attempt to curry favour with Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris, only to be kicked in the head by the Commissioner’s new “assassin” Evil Ninja, when the Ninja and the Commissioner stormed the ring to attack EXesS. Double K is determined to prove to the Commissioner that he is making a mistake choosing the Evil Ninja over him and at Born to Bleed, the IWS self-proclaimed “Technical Wizard” will have a chance to prove it when he faces the Evil Ninja one on one. Also scheduled to wrestle at Born to Bleed are Hell Storm and Nightmare Manson. Not scheduled to appear is the Triple X “Sex XXXpress” Sexxxy Eddy who will not be at Born to Bleed because he will be in Europe wrestling for wXw in Germany, Friday, November 19th and Saturday, November 20th and for IPW:UK in England on Sunday, November 21st. Oddly, Beef Wellington is also presently scheduled not to wrestle, apparently having asked IWS management for the night off so that he can make in his words, “a major announcement that will change the IWS forever! Or not.” The International Wrestling Syndicate presents Born to Bleed, November 20th at Unison Bar et Billiard, 3500 Boulevard Cote Vertu, Montreal, Québec. 13. The Sex XXXpress and IWS Go International http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/i...2004/iws024.jpg He is the Triple X "Sex XXXpress" Sexxxy Eddy; he is the most charismatic wrestler in Canada; he radiates sexual energy; he is the only man in the world crazy enough to wrestle death matches in a thong; he has conquered Canada, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey; and now Europe beckons... The IWS is pleased to announce that Sexxxy Eddy has been invited to wrestle in Germany for wXw and in England for IPW:UK. Eddy will attend wXw's "Fan Appreciation Night" on Friday, November 19th and he will be wrestling Germany's Thumb-Tack Jack in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match during wXw's gala "Fight Club 2" on Saturday, November 20th. He will then travel to England to wrestle during IPW:UK's gala "Show 2" on Sunday, November 21st. For the IWS' many European fans, this is an incredible opportunity to see the man who stole the show earlier this year at CZW's Tournament of Death Three, becoming one of the most popular wrestlers in Philadelphia before he had even wrestled his first match there. Europe get ready to be invaded by the Trans-Atlantic show-stealer! And ladies, bring condoms, lots and lots of condoms. The IWS would also like to announce that beginning with our next show Born to Bleed, November 20th, we will be changing our name from the "Internet Wrestling Syndicate" to the "International Wrestling Syndicate". We will be relaunching our web-site www.syndicatewrestling.com soon to reflect this change. The IWS would also like to remind our fans in California that on November 13th, El Generico and Kevin Steen will be making their West Coast debuts for PWG during their "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)" gala. Generico & Steen will team together for the first time ever to face one of California's top tag teams, the Aerial Express (Quick Silver and Scorpio Sky). As long time IWS fans know, El Generico makes his home in Montreal, but he is a native of Tijuana, Mexico. El Generico is quite excited to be wrestling so close to his home town and he hopes that his family and friends will be able to make it across the border to see him perform. 14. So, yeah, here are the results. I'm late posting them and all, but hey the hand-writing is neat and the spelling is accurate even if quirky and Canadian. Oh, also, it's National Novel Writing Month and since it appears that Dean will not be writing the novel version of The Adventures of Al Wilson, like an idiot I have decided to step into the breach and write my own wrestling novel. I'm trying to write a chapter today. Three chapters and an introduction are done and they can be found on the w here: http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=23021 Be kind. Oh and hey as long as I am shilling the me, I should mention that Blood, Sweat and Beers is available NOW NOW NOW from the folks at Smart Marks on VHS and should be available SOON SOON SOON on DVD. As has been mentioned before this was not a gorefest, but more technical matches. The main event in particular is really good, especially because no one expected Fred la Merveille to be that good. Buy it here on VHS: http://www.smartmarkvideo.com/ccp5/cgi-bin...catstr=HOME:IWS ******************************************************************************* The Kevin Steen Victory Tour Continues! The Kevin Steen Victory Tour keeps rolling on, despite a brave attempt by Fred la Merveille to derail it by beating Steen for the Internet Wrestling Syndicate title last Saturday, October 23rd. In fact, Fred would be IWS champion right now, if his minion, Damian, had not turned on his “chef” attacking Fred and helping Kevin Steen defend his title to conclude a very successful Blood, Sweat and Beers gala. Damian declared to the stunned crowd that after more than a year, the Syndicat de Lutte Internet had brought Quebec no closer to independence, despite all of Fred la Merveille’s promises. In a furious French tirade, Damian insisted that Quebec would never have its independence and that Fred la Merveille was simply leading people on. Damian went on to say that he wanted to get booked in the United States just like Kevin Steen, something that Fred would never to be able to do for him. The Kevin Steen Victory Tour continues with a successful defence of his IWS belt last night, in Rahway, New Jersey against Florida’s best wrestler, Roderick Strong in front of an enthusiastic crowd, for Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s Halloween Hell gala. Next Saturday, Steen travels to Quebec City to face the “King of the Old School” Steve Corino. The following weekend, Kevin Steen will board a plane to make his West Coast debut for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, as he and El Generico will face off against one of California’s best tag teams Quick Silver and Scorpio Sky. Blood, Sweat and Beers began with Kevin Steen bragging about becoming the hottest new indy star in North America. Fred la Merveille cut him off and verbally assaulted the IWS Champion in French, accusing him of betraying his heritage by refusing to speak French. “Notre Fred Nationale” also said that when Kevin went to the States, it was obvious that he didn’t go there to represent Quebec or to represent the IWS, that he went there just to represent himself. An infuriated Kevin Steen responded, telling Fred that he was a great clown but a lousy wrestler. Fred’s rebuttal was a low blow with his trusty Quebec flag that sent Kevin Steen whimpering to the mat. The first match of Blood, Sweat and Beers pitted the Sultans of Smug, 2.0, Shane Matthews and Jagged, against the make-shift team of Nightmare Manson from Extreme Revolution and Hell Storm from New Breed. This team had been “created” by 2.0 in the hopes that this spontaneous team would result in an easy victory. Manson and Hell Storm did have a rocky beginning with some miscommunications, but as the match continued the two men found some common ground and began working smoothly together… much to 2.0’s dismay. In desperation, 2.0 managed to put Manson and Hell Storm through a table on the outside of the ring and scrambled back into the ring for a count-out victory at 11:45. Dan Paysan and El Generico electrified the IWS crowd with a daredevil high-flying contest. As the match progressed, it became obvious that Dan had done his homework as he countered or avoided most of El Generico’s signature moves. The partisan crowd chanted “Brain Buster” on numerous occasions, but Paysan frustrated El Generico (and his fans) every time, but Dan for his part was never quite able to put El Generico away despite many chances to do so. Finally, Dan made one tiny mistake and El Generico put him away with a Super Brain Buster followed by a 450 splash to get the pin at 15:12. Prior to Blood, Sweat and Beers, Beef Wellington was scheduled to face Dan Paysan. Beef wriggled out of that match by arranging for his roommate El Generico to face Dan. Unfortunately for Beef, that led directly to Beef being challenged to a match against a much more dangerous Italian: Franky the Mobster. Beef started the match by mocking Franky’s fanny pack by wearing one of his own and Franky quickly demonstrated why he is considered one of the most dangerous heavyweights in Canada when he destroyed Beef’s fanny pack to start the contest and then destroyed Beef with a breathtaking suicide dive barely a minute into the contest. Beef rallied and realizing that he needed to weaken his adversary, picked a body part to work over with every move in his arsenal: Franky’s posterior. This gambit was very nearly successful, but in the end Franky was just too strong and he put Beef away at 11:49. After the match, Franky grabbed a chair to punctuate his victory at Beef’s expense, but Beef was able to steal the chair and give Franky a ringing chair shot to the Mobster’s derriere before fleeing for his life. An incensed Franky attacked senior IWS official P-Nut as a Beef substitute. Kid Kamikaze and EXesS, two men who both claim to be the best technical wrestlers in Canada, put on a wrestling clinic as they put on a match that wouldn’t have been out of place in Japan. The two men experimented with ways of bending bones and popping ligaments as they twisted and countered and blocked each other into Escher tableaus of pain. In the end, it was EXesS who was just a tiny bit better than Kid Kamikaze, twisting Double K into a move that was half submission and half pin, winning by pin-fall at 13:01. After the match, the Evil Ninja attacked EXesS at Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris’s prompting leading to the Ninja giving ExcesS a sick tombstone pile driver on two chairs. When Kid Kamikaze went to thank the Evil Ninja however, the Evil Ninja attacked Double K as well. Apparently, more than a year of craven toadying by Kid Kamikaze towards Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris have been completely pointless. In a rematch from Freedom to Fight, the new IWS tag team champions defended their title against former champions, le Syndicat de Lutte Internet. Since the Flying Hurricanes won the title in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, the SLI had never actually been pinned for their titles. In short, the two teams beat the living hell out of each other as the SLI, Damian and Viking proved once again that they are the stiffest team in Canada while the Flying Hurricanes, Takao and Kenny the Bastard proved once again that they are the most resilient. The match turned on a mistake by Viking. Frustrated by being unable to keep Kenny the Bastard down, Viking dragged him to the apron to power bomb him to the floor, but Kenny reversed the move, used Viking’s momentum against him to haul the big man onto his shoulders and dropped Viking on to the floor. Damian was easy pickings for the combined Flying Hurricanes after that and he was pinned after taking an Unpredictable Motion at 14:14. Despite blowing out his knee in the first minute of his match against Pierre Carl Ouellet, Kurt Lauderdale very nearly pulled off the victory against the three time WWE tag team champion. PCO, like the veteran that he is, went after Kurt’s knee like a shark dividing the crowd right down the middle between those cheering for him and those cheering for the Career Killer. With only one good wheel, Kurt put up a brave fight, but was finally pinned at 15:23. As a result of lingering injuries caused by a vicious and reckless shovel driver given to him by US indy wrestler Trent Acid, fan favourite Sexxxy Eddy was not able to wrestle. But he did come to the ring to deliver a few chosen words to Trent Acid, including making it clear that Trent Acid was no longer welcome in Montreal, after making verbal threats that he would attack Mike Burns of Smart Mark Video at the next IWS show. Eddy also apologized to his valet D-Vyn for giving her a rough time after Trent Acid slung D-Vyn over his shoulder and took off with her. In fact, Eddy was on his knees, about to show the crowd how best to apologize, when Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris interrupted and chewed Eddy out for talking about matters in public best left back stage. In the main event of Blood, Sweat and Beers, Fred la Merveille made the crowd believe that he was going to walk out the IWS champion. Kevin Steen found himself on the defensive early on as Fred demonstrated that he could match Kevin Steen move for move and hold for hold. After many near-falls for both men, with the action flowing in and out of the ring, Kevin Steen allowed himself to be distracted by Fred’s curvaceous femme fatale valet, Elsa Bangz. This nearly proved disastrous, as Elsa levelled Kevin with a low blow and followed up with a picture perfect tornado DDT. When Fred followed up with his “101” pedigree finisher, the entire building was convinced that Fred had just won the title… until Kevin Steen got his shoulder up just barely in the nick of time. Looking for something to finish off Kevin Steen, Fred prepared to hit his “101” pedigree on a chair, until Damian hit the ring and convinced Fred to use their double team “Tueurs de Policiers” instead, but when Fred turned his back on Damian to set up the move, Damian attacked his “chef” and the “maudit traitre” helped Kevin Steen put Fred away with a vicious Ohtani kick before Steen put Fred through a chair with his package pile driver for the win at 19:45. 16. Kevin Steen's Pride Headed For a Fall? Kevin Steen, the Internet Wrestling Syndicate champion, is having the month of his dreams. Last Saturday, October 9th, he had a triumphant return to the famed Viking Hall, winning a tag team match with Crazy Crusher against the team of El Generico and EXcesS69. This weekend, Kevin Steen has a tryout for WWE developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling, in front of legendary wrestling manager James Cornette; the hockey equivalent of trying out for the top Montreal Canadians farm team in front of Scotty Bowman. On Oct 30th, Mr. Wrestling is scheduled to return to Rahway, New Jersey to defend his IWS title against Florida’s top wrestler Roderick Strong, the “King of the Back Breakers”. A good month by anyone’s standards. There is just one fly in the ointment (or perhaps the proper word is “mouche”) - Fred la Merveille. On October 23rd, during Blood, Sweat and Beers, Fred the “chef” of the Syndicat de Lutte Internet has a shot at winning Kevin Steen’s IWS title. Normally Fred, distracted by his passion for politics, French and Quebec, might be an easy opponent for Kevin Steen. But Mr. Wrestling made one simple mistake: he ignored Fred to concentrate for his defence against Roderick Strong. Now Fred la Merveille has something to prove. Worse for Kevin Steen, Fred has decided that this match is nothing less than a fight for the honour of Quebec. If Kevin Steen refuses to represent Quebec properly in the States by speaking French, then Fred must win the IWS title and do it for him. As IWS fans know, Fred la Merveille is never more dangerous than when he is on a crusade. Fred’s compatriots in the SLI, Damian and Viking, will be looking to get back their gold at Blood, Sweat and Beers. The former tag team champions lost their title without getting pinned as the Flying Hurricanes, Takao and Kenny the Bastard, won a stunning Table, Ladders and Chairs match to become the new champions. Immediately after losing the belts, the SLI challenged the Flying Hurricanes to a rematch. The ‘Canes accepted without hesitation. Neither team has been pinned since January. At Blood, Sweat and Beers, for one team that streak will come to an end. One man determined to avoid a rematch is the IWS’ Master of Mirth, Beef Wellington. Originally scheduled to face Dan Paysan in a “RAGU on a Pole” match, Beef convinced his roommate and occasional tag team partner, El Generico to switch bookings for Blood, Sweats and Beers. So, El Generico will face Dan Paysan (sadly, due to a food allergy, RAGU will not be involved in the match.) Meanwhile, much to his dismay, Beef Wellington is scheduled to face... Franky the Mobster. Two of the biggest men in Quebec wrestling are set to clash at Blood, Sweat and Beers. After Freedom to Fight, Kurt Lauderdale trash talked Pierre Carl Ouellet back stage, annoyed at the way PCO man handled Kurt’s tag team partner, Kid Kamikaze. Screaming that only he was allowed to beat up Double K that way, the Career Killer had to be dragged off PCO by pretty much the entire IWS roster combined. PCO accepted Kurt’s challenge on the spot, although the three time WWE tag team champion seemed confused as to who Kurt was exactly. While PCO has years of experience on Kurt Lauderdale, the Career Killer does have a number of impressive victories to his credit, including a win against PCO’s old tag team partner: Jacques Rougeau Jr. While his tag partner is in the fight of his life, Kid Kamikaze will be fighting some one else’s fight. After saving Commissioner Joseph FitzMorris from EXcesS69 at Freedom to Fight, the Westmount Warrior will attempt to ingratiate himself even further with his boss by taking out EXcesS69 permanently. This will be a match-up of two of the finest technical wrestlers in all of Canada. EXcesS69 may have a slight edge in skill, but Kid Kamikaze has an enormous advantage because he has all the ethics of a rattlesnake. Also scheduled to wrestle at Blood, Sweat and Beers are the self-proclaimed “most professional tag team in Quebec” : 2.0. The Sultans of Smirk, Shane Matthews and Jagged have decided to book their own opponents, choosing this month from the New Breed, HellStorm and from Extreme Revolution, Crazy Crusher. Calling this jury-rigged team “Extreme Breed”, 2.0 seems to be counting on Crusher and HellStorm not being able to get along. One possible complication is the injury that Crusher suffered while tagging with Kevin Steen at the Combat Zone Wrestling show in Philadelphia last week. No doubt 2.0 will be just heartbroken at having to face HellStorm in a two on one match. The Internet Wrestling Syndicate presents Blood, Sweat and Beers October 23rd at Unison Bar et Billiard, 3500 Boulevard Cote Vertu, Montreal, Québec. 17. If that was the guy who was spit on by a guy in the mask, it was Franky the Mobster. Kevin was the one who described how the Green Phantom fractured his arm and took credit for it.
  18. This is one of my occasional tributes to PWI and Liz Hunter. Sharp-eyed readers might have noticed mention in the Official Results for IWS Freedom to Fight of an interview with Kevin Steen. Here it is... ******************************************************** Kevin Steen : “In Canada, they call me Mister” Saturday night is sliding into Sunday morning and the Internet Wrestling Syndicate Champion Kevin Steen, is for once, smiling, “It was a good night tonight. We had a good crowd – we always have hot crowds – but tonight – WOW. And there was - what? Four hundred people out there, maybe more. They told me that we ran out of chairs, Unison brought out couches from the back. We filled those. People were standing. It was great.” “Freedom to Fight is a big deal for us. We’re happy to back in Ville Saint-Laurent – happy to be back at Unison. I’m happy that I defended my IWS title. I had to beat both EXesS and Sexxxy Eddy. Three-way matches are tough: not only do I have to worry about beating two guys, I can’t beat down either guy as much as I would like to. You have to be strategic. If I beat down Eddy too much, EXesS ambushes me with one of his sneaky submissions; if I beat EXesS up the way I can, Eddy tries to pin EXesS and I could lose my belt without getting pinned. In the end, the Commissioner waffled EXesS with a chair, but it didn’t matter – I would have won anyway.” 2004 has been a very good year for Kevin Steen. “Hell, Yeah. I won the Extreme Wrestling Revolution title in Quebec. The first and only EWR champion. I won the IWS title. I fought Jerry Lynn in Montreal. I mean he beat me - he’s tricky – but the most important thing is that now I know that I can beat him if I get a second chance. I beat Christopher Daniels, the Fallen Angel, in Quebec City. And I wrestled the most dominant champion in indy wrestling – Ring of Honour champion Samoa Joe – I fought him to a twenty minute draw. Yeah, it’s been a good year. And it’s going to get even better.” “Look at my October. Next week, I defend my EWR title in Quebec City. On October 9th, I’m in Philadelphia wrestling for Combat Zone Wrestling in Viking Hall, the historic ECW arena. I get to introduce Crazy Crusher to the CZW fans and he’s an amazing talent – almost as good as me – and we get to team up to beat El Generico and EXesS, and you know kicking their asses never gets old. The week after that I will be at Ohio Valley Wrestling – the WWE developmental territory – for a try-out in front of the legend James Cornette. In hockey terms, that’s like trying out for the Montreal Canadians farm team in front of Scotty Bowman. October 23rd is Blood, Sweat and Beers right back here at Unison and I’ll be defending my IWS gold. And October ends with me going back to the Rahway Centre in Rahway, New Jersey for Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s show Halloween Hell where I’ll be defending my IWS title against Roderick Strong – the so-called ‘King of the Back-Breakers.’ That’s a good month for anyone.” “And – hey – it’s been good year for the IWS too. Look at tonight. The show was being filmed by Smart Mark Video, the biggest distributour of wrestling videos in North America. They drove 800 miles to film us and they are going to drive 800 miles back to edit the show. They were saying that the show will be released by when Tuesday? Wednesday?” (In fact, Freedom to Fight is available now from Smart Mark Video: http://the-w.com/redirect/http://www.smart...01&cat=&catstr= ) “Plus, we have been on television across Canada on Pro Wrestling Superstars for nearly six months now. We’re the first Canadian Wrestling fed to have had our own Pay Per View. It’s been a very good year.” You could say that the IWS and Kevin Steen matured together. “That’s very true. It’s no accident that when people ask, ‘Which IWS show should I pick up first?’ Everyone always says – Un F’N Sanctioned 2003 – My FIRST show. When I wrestled for Jacques Rougeau – and I love Jacques Rougeau, don’t get me wrong – but when I wrestled for him, I was ‘Le Kid’ Kevin Steen. I didn’t want to end up forty years old and still be ‘Le Kid’ Kevin Steen. So, I came to the IWS, and the IWS fans – man they’re the best fans in the world – they got me right away, and they didn’t call me ‘Le Kid’ they called me MISTER, they named me Mister Wrestling.” “The funny thing about going to the States is that everyone down there is asking, ‘Who is this Kevin Steen kid and why does he call himself Mister Wrestling?” Like they are saying, ‘How dare he?’ Shows how stupid the American fans are and how smart the fans are here in Canada. In the U.S. they just see ‘Le Kid’; In Canada they see the man.” You talk about how good the fans in Canada are, but you go out of your way to piss them off. “Sure, but you know what, the fans need me to be bad. I do all the stuff that they wish that they could do. I’m the cool guy that they wish that they could be.” Aren’t you worried about the consequences of your actions? “See, that’s the beauty of it. The IWS is a fed with no consequences, There are no disqualifications, no count outs, the referees are just there to look pretty. Besides, who’s going to stop me? Pierre Carl Ouellet tried – now he’s not sure what decade he’s in. The Green Phantom tried – now he’s sitting at home with a fractured arm. EXesS – don’t make me laugh. El Generico tried to stop me, so I brought in Franky the Mobster and we took El Generico out. No, this belt is staying around my waist for a long time.” (This interview was done backstage after IWS Freedom to Fight, September 25th, 2004.) ***********************************************************
  19. I have great deal of exciting news, but to begin with: 1. Smart Marks Video drove 800 miles to shoot our show on two cameras and get live commentary from Brian the Guppie and Peter LaSalle, then hopped back in the car and drove 800 miles back to edit the show and a mere two days after the event it is available for sale on their web-site on VHS. http://www.smartmarkvideo.com/ccp5/cgi-bin...catstr=HOME:IWS 2. There is also a write-up of the show on SLAM! Wrestling http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2004/09/26/644936.html 3. As some of you may know, the IWS participated in CZW's Tournament of Death 3 with Sexxxy Eddy now considered to be a full fledged Philadelphia star (after his performance in TOD3) getting the biggest pop at CZW's High Stakes show during a mind-blowingly good IWS 4-Way match featuring Eddy, El Generico, EXcesS & Kevin Steen which Eddy won. 4. IWS' US Invasion includes their participation in JAPW's 7th Anniversary show, where EXcesS and Kevin Steen shone in an IWS championship match where Steen defended his title and the two men received a standing ovation at the end. Also there was Beef Wellington and here is how he was received in his match against Super Dragon: http://www.japw.net/multimedia/videos/asspunch.wmv Oh and El Generico was there as well fighting Jack Evans (amongst others): http://www.japw.net/multimedia/videos/brainbuster.wmv Also of interest JAPW put up four clips from ther 7th Anniversary show and the IWS is featured on two of them. 5. We're going back to JAPW on October 30th for Halloween Hell. Kevin Steen will be defending the IWS title against none other than the "King of the Back Breakers" - Roderick Strong Beef Wellington, El Generico, EXcesS and one more IWS wrestler will be competing in a "Canadian Madness" 4-Way

We are going to be adding some stuff to Bloodstream before our show this Saturday (the announcement for Freedom to Fight is on the main site btw) But for now here is 15 minutes of IWS goodness: http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/m...stream_sept.wmv
  21. http://images3.fotopic.net/?iid=yfx4k8&out...ize=1&nostamp=1 The IWS Celebrates Our Freedom to Fight The Internet Wrestling Syndicate returns to Ville Saint-Laurent to celebrate our Freedom to Fight Saturday, September 25th, but it will do so without its Hardcore Hero. It was supposed to be the Green Phantom’s night. After being named Number One Contender to the IWS title back in April, the Hardcore Hero was finally scheduled to get a shot at the IWS gold. But now he stands at the sidelines, immobilized with a broken elbow, while the IWS champion Kevin Steen gloats and takes credit for the injury. Fortunately for the fans, where one contender for the title falls, two more spring up to take his place. In the main event of Freedom to Fight, Kevin Steen will face his long time rival ExcesS69 alongside a man who has recently become Philadelphia’s new favourite wrestler: the Triple X “Sex XXXpress” Sexxxy Eddy. The Sex XXXpress is on a bit of a roll, with breakout performances for Combat Zone Wrestling including a victory over the IWS champion, Kevin Steen, in a four-way match September 11th that also included ExcesS69 and El Generico. A match that has been hailed by fans as one of the best matches ever seen in the famed ECW arena. Also defending their titles at Freedom to Fight are the IWS tag team champions: le Syndicat de Lutte Internet. Recently, the SLI have been heard to complain back stage that the lack of competition for their titles was boring them. Hearing these complaints, IWS President Seska decided to up the stakes for the tag champions, booking them in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match against the only team that the SLI have been unable to pin since they won the titles: the Flying Hurricanes. Beef Wellington has been called by some the King of Gimmick Matches. But at Freedom to Fight, Beef will find himself at a disadvantage battling in an Italian Street Fight against the Italian Icon, Dan Paysan. The two men have been butting heads for months with Beef getting the better of the Dapper Don on a regular basis, but does an Italian Street Fight give Dan the edge he needs to defeat the Master of the Ass Punch? Pierre Carl Ouellet has challenged Kid Kamikaze to a match at Freedom to Fight. Now, one would assume that since Kid Kamikaze was trained by PCO, that this match would be a confrontation between student and teacher, but it appears that this match was as a result of mistaken identity. PCO seems to think that Kid Kamikaze is actually Sean Waltman. Admittedly, the resemblance is uncanny: they both have educated feet, they both attempt to grow goatees, they both have vile greasy hair, they both recruit big men to protect them when their mouth gets them in trouble, and neither of them ever picks up the cheque… actually has any one ever seen these two together? Maybe PCO has a point. Freedom to Fight will also see a confrontation between the most popular man in the IWS and its most hated, as crowd favourite El Generico confronts Franky the Mobster. Two months ago, Franky the Mobster prevented El Generico from winning back his IWS title from Kevin Steen. Last month, Franky the Mobster took advantage of the Green Phantom’s injury to get a pin on the Phantom’s partner El Generico. The Latin Luchador will have payback on his mind, and what Franky the Mobster doesn’t realize that there is nothing quite so dangerous as masked Mexican looking for revenge. Another man who may be underestimating his opponent is the “chef du SLI” Fred la Merveille. Last month, the SLI ambushed Extreme Revolution before their tag match, injuring Nightmare Manson, allowing the SLI to concentrate on Crazy Crusher and protect their tag team belts. After the match, Extreme Revolution’s sociopathic boss, the Arsenal swore revenge challenging the SLI’s boss, Fred la Merveille. Many people consider Fred to be the nicest wrestler in Quebec, possibly in Canada. Is he truly ready to face the Arsenal, a twisted sociopath who uses his sick genius to find new ways to cripple and disfigure his opponents? If anyone in the IWS deserves to be maimed by the Arsenal, it would be the two smug, self-centered, narcissistic egotists who claim that they are the most professional tag team in Canada: 2.0. They recently made an open invitation for any tag team in the IWS to face them at Freedom to Fight. While it remains to be confirmed, it appears that 2.0 may be facing Extreme Revolution. At least, IWS President Seska appears to be rooting for this match, declaring that Shane Matthews would look much cuter with staples. While no match has been announced for the Career Killer Kurt Lauderdale, he will be at Freedom to Fight. The big man is still hunting for revenge after the Evil Ninja slashed his arm to ribbons with a samurai sword. Last month, the Arsenal and Evil Ninja conspired to rob Kurt Lauderdale of a chance to battle the Ninja. In fact, the Arsenal has said that Kurt has lost his only chance to face the Ninja. We are not sure how Kurt Lauderdale will react to being denied his chance for revenge, but we can hazard a guess: NOT WELL. The Internet Wrestling Syndicate presents Freedom to Fight at Unison Bar et Billiard, 3500 Boulevard Cote Vertu, Montreal, Québec. 22. Just announced late last night. El Generico is booked in the "Best of the LIGHT Heavyweights" against amongst others Jack Evans. Kevin Steen's opponent hasn't been announced, but it is confirmed that "Mr. Wrestling" will in fact be... ummm... wrestling. Great news for Canadian Wrestling. Great news for the Internet Wrestling Syndicate which is rapidly becoming the fed that wrestling fans think about when they think about Canada. Great news for Kevin Steen and El Generico, both of whom are great guys and more importantly great wrestlers who have worked hard for chances like this. Two guys who love wrestling, two guys who have respect for the business, two guys who deserve all the success that comes their way. ... And I am really curious to see how a Hispanic crowd responds to El Generico...

    IWS August Bloodstream

Well, at least *I* like it. A couple of the segments are a little dark, but it makes sense for them to be dark... Most of the roster is included so it's not an all-Beef Wellington all the time video (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) And the Pierre Carl Ouellet promos are GOLD! http://www.syndicatewrestling.com/images/m...maugust2004.wmv
