Search: special pic of John Cena

It was a Photoshop done by Downhome (I think) in 2002. It came about after one poster claimed that Cena looked like Sting without the facepaint after the night of his WWE debut on Smackdown against Kurt Angle. I could be wrong, but I think that's how I remember it.

Who will have the better 30 Min. Iron Man Match?

Styles is good, but TNA and the Styles fanatics all tout him as "the best", when they've obviously been overlooking his lack of long-term selling and his tendency to try to get all of his spots in a match, which keeps him from being as good as Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, etc. I read about Styles' second Pure title match with CM Punk in ROH last year, in which Styles didn't sell any of the work that Punk had done to him earlier in the match while going on offense.

Who will have the better 30 Min. Iron Man Match?

True. Unless AJ gets in so much more offense than Daniels does in the match for some reason, though, I wouldn't expect that to happen.

Who will have the better 30 Min. Iron Man Match?

I really couldn't get into Rock/HHH, to be honest with you. The finish in particular sucked, with The Undertaker interfering as the lame American Badass character, costing The Rock the match by Tombstoning HHH, and then HHH won. Aside from that, Angle vs. Lesnar is still far worse. Benoit vs. HHH I thought was good mostly because of Benoit. I'll never call it GREAT, though.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Heh heh. That's probably the only reason that Season mode is going two years in SVR 2006, since the NWO storyline from 2002 on SYM made the Season mode go two years as well.

Who will have the better 30 Min. Iron Man Match?

Most of the time, WWE Iron Man matches aren't that great. Benoit vs. HHH on Raw either last year or this year was good, but HBK/Hart, HHH/Rock, and Angle/Lesnar weren't anything to brag about, especially the Angle/Lesnar Iron Man match, which was by far the worst of them all. For now, I'll have to go with Styles/Daniels, since there's no WWE style that'll have them doing the same match instead of building off of their previous match like they should.

    Brand New Danger Zone 9-24-2005

Good to know. I did hear you talk about Kane being a WWE title challenger to HHH (since everyone knows he'll beat Cena before the end of this year, of course) at Wrestlemania 22 if John Cena got injured before then. Even with the lack of decent top faces on Raw, though, I still couldn't see WWE going with Kane/HHH in the event that John Cena somehow gets injured before WM 22.
  8. WWE rubbing salt into the former Dudleyz' wounds. Classy.

    Some Smackdown thoughts

I meant that the Smackdown roster was superior to Raw's. I never said that the quality of Smackdown itself was good, though.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I read somewhere on the IGN forums that the "Wrestler of the Day" isn't done on weekends.

    TNA news

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jarrett as the Champion and Nash in the main-event....nice going, TNA. That'll really get disgruntled wrestling fans to tune into the product.

    Some Smackdown thoughts

Mercury has the Matt Hardy-style chops, and Johnny Nitro has the sideburns. Nitro's the one who said that Hawk was dead in that promo.

    Some Smackdown thoughts

Burchill and Regal are stuck in a pointless feud with Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki, currently, and WWE's had Burchill and Regal selling for them WAY too much, so they're not much better off, even though they haven't lost to S2H and Funaki yet. SD has gotten a "bum rap" because of shit like Eddie/Rey/Dominic from not too long ago, The whole Taker/Ortons feud featuring a mannequin Undertaker in a casket, Eddie being "sick" on this past week's Smackdown featuring a gay doctor that "anal-raped" Eddie Guerrero backstage, Batista squashing one of WWE's few actual tag teams left despite being jobbed out previously anyway, Benoit stuck with Orlando Jordan, etc. Then there's some minor things like Rey Mysterio's HORRENDOUS "Booyaka 619" theme he has now. Aside from all of that, though, Smackdown does have a stronger roster, whereas Raw has obviously felt the impact of Jericho not being around anymore with the pushes of Chris Masters, Carlito, and Tomko as of late.

    Heat/Velocity status addressed by WWE.com

I'll have trouble watching both shows on the Internet since WWE.com uses streaming media for their content, which is a bitch on my 56K modem (damn DSL can't get to my area quickly enough). Although having to pay to watch both shows would suck too if that's the route that WWE's going in.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Well, Yukes did give Stacy Keibler an Edgeucator in her HCTP moveset. I wonder if Yukes is going to put the Shooting Star Press into Torrie Wilson's SVR 2006 moveset for no reason at all?

    Some Smackdown thoughts

I hope Nitro and Mercury get as much mic time as Melina does in the future if WWE allows them to cut more promos. So far, Melina's been the one talking for the most part, and Nitro and Mercury usually only get to speak in pointless backstage segments or when WWE has them joking about Hawk's death.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

LOD with yellow, spiked shoulder pads on a Smackdown game wouldn't make you too happy, though, would it? I agree. I got bored of the Season mode in SVR in 2 or 3 weeks because of the Diva-oriented nature of the Season mode, the limited amount of storylines, the lack of being able to switch wrestlers to other rosters like on HCTP (which probably won't be seen in SVR 2006, but hopefully if the reviews for the game sound good despite the flaws I've been noticing in the previews lately, that might make up for it), and only two championship belts on both shows.

    Todd Grisham

"Off the Chain" is one of Josh's faults, but he obviously knows more about wrestling than Grisham does, at least.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I'll end up having to keep playing HCTP for a second year in a row if SVR 2006 sucks just like SVR 1 did.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Once again, more lazy programming from Yukes with the color scheme fuck-ups on wrestler attires. THIS is why edit-a-wrestler needs to be included in the Smackdown series BADLY at this point.

    Todd Grisham

Yeah, I've heard of Grisham trying to be funny to the Coach on Heat constantly, too, and it always comes off poorly. I will say that Michael Cole is still infamous for all those "damns" whenever he's pissed at a heel for "injuring" a face or something. "Referee, ring the damn bell!! Enough!! STOP THIS, DAMN IT!!"

    Opening Impact Match Announced...

Jericho could have been an option if he had considered TNA after leaving WWE last month and still did Fozzy tours on the side. Although we all know that the graphic with the TNA logo in the background was just a joke that Jericho displayed on his website because he said "Not gonna happen" when asked about going to TNA according to one poster who passed along the information here.

    Todd Grisham

WWE would probably have Cole make Grisham his bitch like Cole did to Mark Loyd on Velocity at one point. Grisham:"OOOOOHHHHHHH, THAT WAS A HARD CLOTHESLINE!" Cole:"Hey Todd, how long did take for you to come up with that?" Grisham:"I'm calling a match, Cole." Cole:"Yeah, you don't have a match, yet, because you bore the hell out of all of the women. Ha ha ha ha!" Oh, you were talking about a FIGHT between Cole and Grisham. Sorry. I'd say it would end in a stalemate, with Josh Matthews doing a run-in to give both of them dropkicks, even though it wouldn't even be a wrestling match.

Dave Sahadi on Between the Ropes

Now THAT is even more ridiculous than even WWE not allowing The Dudleyz to use their tag team name that was created by ECW instead of WWE. I know WWE bought the ECW library, but WWE still didn't come up with "The Dudley Boys", nor did they come up with fucking TABLES.

    Todd Grisham

Todd Grisham=One of the most monotone commentators ever in WWE. His emotion when trying to get excited for a certain part of a match sounds so forced that it's not even funny. It's almost like he's trying to be JR, who obviously isn't someone that any aspiring commentator should take after with the way JR has been for the past several years.
