Is Shawn Michaels really turning heel?

Just like the WWE dress code is beyond boring, too. I've always thought that HBK was better off as a heel anyway. His promo in Montreal this past Monday was some of his best mic work in a long time.

    The OAO 8/18/05 SD thread!

Yeah, just like WWE shouldn't have Chris Benoit doing goofy sarcastic humor on heels. "WOOOOOOOWWWWW!" just isn't something that should be coming out of a serious, intense, (no Face HHH 2002 jokes, please) technical wrestler's mouth.

    Sunny to return?

I agree, Y2Jerk. I hope Candido's death earlier this year hasn't led Sunny/Tammy Sytch back to drugs. BTW, Corpse, XMV is possibly dead. http://nodqforums.com/showthread.php?t=113034

    Ted Petty Invitational 2005

IWA-MS is probably about to go out of business anyway at the end of this year from what I read, and this proves it even more.

When the hell will Team Canada NOT be competing for the Tag Team titles on PPV for once?!

How much longer for Eric Bischoff?

The NWO debuted at No Way Out (NWO) 2002, coincidentally enough, so Austin and Bradshaw feuded with the NWO (the Nash, Hall, X-Pac, Big Show, Booker T, Shawn Michaels version) in 2002.

Fuck, just when I thought TNA was improving within the last few months. Is TNA trying to turn Daniels into Jericho or something?

    Kazarian Done With WWE

There's a thread in this same forum about Bentley being gone from TNA after his contract had expired and didn't accept a new deal, so that rules out a KazariShane reunion for now. Edit: Oh wait, I just read that Bentley's contract hasn't expired yet, but it will in a few months if he doesn't agree to a new deal with TNA.

    What's going on with Tajiri?

So they just recently told him to stop using his trademark kicks? What the hell? What did his offense consist of because of that shit? Punch-kick-clothesline? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't remember the exact play-by-play of the match, but Tajiri didn't use a lot of kicks, didn't use any high-risk manuevers or aerial moves, and his only high spots were the handspring elbow off the ropes (which I marked out for) and the Tarantula. Kerwin dominated most of the match with chinlocks and headlocks which was also bad as hell b/c it bored the hell out of me. Plus, I figured a Chavo 2.0-Tajiri match would go the air a little, BUT I was totally wrong. It was mostly a resthold based match and was quite awful. So yea, Tajiri was toned down and it made me disappointed finally getting to see him wrestle, BUT he got an awesome reception from the crowd (probably more than anyone else on the show save for John Cena & HBK) so I don't see why the WWE doesn't get behind him. God forbid if LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY digs Tajiri there have to be other arenas out there that would too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That sounds terrible (although I do think I remember reading a report from you about the disappointing Kerwin/Tajiri match). However, the WWE style has become even worse now with cruiserweights being told not to use SSP's or 450's. I know the high-risk moves were toned down a few years ago in WWE, which I've mostly noticed in WWE cruiserweight matches in the last few years anyway, but I still think that because of the ban on the two moves I just mentioned in the last sentence that the matches will be even more lacking than ever in WWE, which is why I hope TNA succeeds on Spike with better quality matches, along with Jarrett losing the power struggle and leaving TNA for good.
  10. I haven't really seen Tajiri on TV since his goofy mini-feud with Chris Masters last month on Raw, so what's the current status on him? Injured, not being used, taking a break? It kind of makes me think that he's the next to be released sometime later on from WWE since they haven't done anything with him for a while now. He hasn't even wrestled on HEAT. Yeah, I know this was a pointless thread since if WWE doesn't think too much of Tajiri, why should we?

The OAO Raw Thread for 8/15/05

I actually saw several ringside fans leave their seats sometime at the start of the match and came back as soon as they heard the bell ring, signalling that the match was over. Rob Conway and The Hurricane are definitely in need of better characters and more of a reason to care about them.

    The Cost of Oil.

The gas around my area in North Carolina is damn near close to $2.69 at the rate it keeps increasing in price almost every month.

    What's going on with Tajiri?

Vince to the newly signed wrestler:"Pepsi SUCKS! I like Coke better, damn it! Oh, and cut your hair and get rid of that jacket, you're no punk rocker, and this Straight Edge crap is bullshit! You need to be more marketable, so we're changing your look! 'Cause I'm Vincent Kennedy McMahon, damn it!" Newly signed wrestler:"I'm still better than you..." *Gives Vince the straight edge "X" sign* Vince:"OK, that's it! You're gonna suffer the same fate that Shelton Benjamin has suffered for the past few weeks for trying to impress the crowd with in-ring ability.....You're gonna job to.....CHRIS MAAASSSSTERRRRRRSSSS!" Newly signed wrestler thinks:"Oh fuck....where the hell is Stevie Richards when you need him?"

What is Chavo's gimmick going to lead to?

It was so bad that even The Coach (the heel commentator on Heat) took offense to Kerwin White's "If it's not white, it's not right" comment because the character seems borderline racist.

Yeah. Getting buried by Jarrett isn't any better than getting buried by HHH, of course.

The OAO Raw Thread for 8/15/05

No. Can anyone even remember when the last time he had an actual one-on-one match against a WRESTLER on Raw? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Based on that, does anyone else think that Jericho would have been better off leaving to TNA instead of continuing to get poorly booked in WWE like he has been for years? Well, if Jarrett ever gets fired from TNA, anyway...

Will one night stand stand the test of time

Yeah, even Test getting his foot caught in the ropes while Eddie Guerrero worried about what to do next in their match... On a more serious note, as far as ONS goes, I liked the PPV at the time, but like others have said, it won't stand the test of time. Jericho vs. Storm and Awesome vs. Tanaka were the two best matches of the night. Aside from that, almost all of the matches were short, Eddie was too pissed that night to have a good match with Benoit, Foley sucked on commentary, JBL had too much involvement with the PPV and stiffed the Blue Meanie, and Stone Cold led the ECW alumni around at the end of the night much like he did with The Alliance in 2001, except he didn't kick Tazz's ass. Still, there were other moments that made ECW ONS one of the more exciting PPV's in the past several years, which has made many of us dread the regular WWE PPV's even more than we ever have, especially recently (GAB 2005).

    Frankie Kazarian to leave WWE?

At least WWE won't try to get an interview with Kazarian like they would have if WWE had decided to release him instead (Charlie Haas, Matt Morgan, etc.).

Rey Mysterio's son suffering "emotional distress"

Even though Rey still flies around like always, I wouldn't expect too many high spots from him off the ladder due to his weak knees. It's probably better that way, though, due to the risk of injury involved in a ladder match, and it's not even necessary for Eddie and Rey to have a ladder match when they do better without gimmick matches. It's too bad that Rey is apparently not only booking this crappy angle, but apparently his matches with Eddie too, because Eddie STILL hasn't beaten Rey Mysterio yet.

    Frankie Kazarian to leave WWE?

It may just be a typo, but I thought it was WWE that wanted Kazarian to cut his hair and Kazarian refused, not Kazarian wanting his hair to be cut. Not to nitpick, I was just wondering if that's what PWInsider actually meant to write?

    Rob Conway or Buff Bagwell?

He could become a masked wrestler after the "Buff" Conway character is dropped later on (unless they release him before his character is dropped, anyway). Too bad that went out of style years ago with non-luchadores and non-Japanese wrestlers in mainstream wrestling. In that case, Conway still wouldn't go far in WWE.
