TNA isn't ROH. They won't book a Raven/Punk feud properly and won't have Punk looking great even if he did lose to Raven in a singles match in TNA. It especially doesn't help that Punk and Julio had to sell most of Sabu's shitty offense last night.
-
Think he might be getting released or sent back down to OVW?
-
Not much. Just Vince announcing two shitty matches, having a pointless match with Bischoff, and Lesnar appearing on Raw to give Austin an F-5.
-
Jericho also had to be PAIRED with Chyna in 2000, and then Eddie Guerrero was too. Things definitely didn't look too great for Jericho and Guerrero in 2000, especially considering that Jericho was starting to blow spots around that time and Guerrero had an arm injury that hindered his wrestling ability somewhat. Nice to see how far he's come along since then (aka the current WWE Champion). As TheHulkster said, there were 5 opportunities that WWE blew on Jericho, including the one when Jericho jobbed to Chyna at Survivor Series, and then to Gangrel the next night on Raw, when earlier, it looked like he and The Rock were about to feud when Jericho arrived in WWE.
-
Yea, because then they may have actually drew decent money with him and nobody wants that. With all the badmouthing he was doing just a few years ago to WWE, was there even a logical reason in WWE hiring him other than being a WCW top star that was pushed too quickly, never had a lot of talent, and having a horrible lockerroom attitude whenever he doesn't get his way (aka having the World Heavyweight Championship)? No, wait, WWE logic. That's right.
-
I expect 30 blown spots from Sabu in the match.
-
Not only that, but if anyone remembers, TNA also decided to get rid of the Heel Section, which made them lose even more fans.

I live in NC and the only thing I've gotten in my county this season is sleet (which I was out of school for 4 days and I've had maybe 4 two-hour delays this semester). I haven't had just snow so far this year, just a mix at best.

The One and Only 2/19/04 WWE SmackDown thread...
Silence replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
At least this WWE Championship match at Wrestlemania looks to have a better build-up to it, unlike *cough cough* Benoit vs. The Kliq *cough cough*. Still, I'm not holding out hope for WWE not screwing Eddie/Angle up before Wrestlemania. -
Week 4 was when TNA hired Russo, but Week 5 from what I read was when he officially started booking. If it wasn't Week 5, though, I'd like to know when he did start officially booking TNA. As for the comparison, TNA's shows started to get inconsistent around Week 5 to the point that it became hit-or-miss for us to buy the shows anymore, which is the way it still is now, but even worse thanks to Dutch's slow-build booking. I'm aware that many of us have lost count of what Week number TNA's on anymore, though. It's just that I remember Week 5 (2002) being a disappointing show after TNA had started getting good reviews earlier (sans Hall-Jarrett borefest), which is why I brought it up.

Raven's back, but next week, he's teaming up with Spot-blower against The Gathering, unfortunately. Not sure how that match is going to turn out good when Sabu's involved. Russo vs. Jarrett doesn't sound intriguing, to be honest.
-
TNA shows were already going to shit during Russo's booking, which started in Week 5 (a Low Ki/Red match just BARELY saved the show that night, and even that match wasn't as good as their ROH match). It's just that TNA's even worse now with Mantel and Jeff Jarrett having their way all the time.
-
Somewhere in the background, Russo yells:"SWOOIIIIVVVE!! SWOOOIIIIVVVE!!! THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT OIDEAAAA!"
-
Yeah. What the hell happened? WWE's booking became really stupid later in 2000, thus ending Benoit's heel credibility and push to the top (doesn't anyone else still think he should have won the WWE title from The Rock back at Fully Loaded 2000? Yet WWE had to use the excuse that "Jericho, Angle, and Benoit didn't help the PPV buyrate", so they made all three of them lose their matches. Bleh.)
-
Damn, we're all going to have bloodshot eyes from watching 6 hours of TV after Heat and Wrestlemania are over.
-
Either that or he'll pull a HHH and squash both of them like they were Spike Dudley.
-
I only have WWE Smackdown: SYM and HCTP currently on the PS2 because I haven't had any interest in the non-wrestling PS2 games yet, although I'm thinking about buying Metal Gear Solid 3 later this year if it turns out great according to the reviews, doesn't have Raiden, and doesn't have too much talking like I read about Metal Gear Solid 2 having.
-
Both shirts suck. I guess that's to be expected though from WWE since their product sucks, too.
-
Better yet, let them see the "Hardcore Holly/Matt Cappotelli TE 3" incident. That's definitely scary.
-
...And one of them is the man who just spoke on the recent releases and the spots that would be filled by the "new faces in OVW".
-
Well, they're actually good in the ring and aren't hosses, so that might explain it, just like it explains Matt Hardy's misuse on Raw.
-
Well, I just had diarrhea on Friday the 13th tonight after waiting for days to eat my regular foods (I had my wisdom teeth pulled last Friday so I had to eat oatmeal, mashed potatoes and gravy, jello, etc.). How's THAT for unlucky? Dames, I think we're both cursed, unfortunately. McDonald's gave you Chicken McNuggets early in the morning that made you puke, and I had diarrhea earlier tonight on Friday the 13th. Fortunately, I'm over it now.
-
Basically, the extension was a good idea, but the execution of it has been poor with the lack of elevation and serious pushing of talent (Paul London getting the shaft by being on Velocity and Benoit getting berated on Raw by HHH and HBK before the World Heavyweight title match).
-
I hope that even though Eddie pinned Lesnar, Eddie's still booked to win at No Way Out. Usually the wrestler who got one-upped before the PPV is the one who wins the PPV match, but I hope we're wrong this time.

Anthony Cali was his name, right? I hated him so much. On a related note, just 1 or 2 years ago on another forum I post at, one poster poked fun at Cali's commentaries every time a new one was up at WWE.com. A lot of people were laughing their asses off. Edit: I'm sorry, it was at a forum I used to post at until the administrator decided to close it down for some reason.
