I went to a super-crazy Pentacostal church as a kid, so I usually compare comments like these to what the church leaders I knew would say. Most of this stuff is a little past their mark.

One of the main reasons I have a full beard is my complete loathing of all things shaving. My girlfriend asked me to shave it a few weeks ago and it was horrible. Generally, I just use a cheap $20 mustache and beard trimmer to keep it clean and shave some of my neck.

I'll post it here just in case anyone else is interested. What you'll need: Swap Magic 3.6 or 3.8. A compatible USB drive. (My Blackjack cellphone and my girlfriend's USB drive worked, but not mine. I'm thinking about trying it with my sister's iPod Shuffle out of curiosity.) UlaunchELF PS2 Save builder 1. Go to Fireproclub.com or wherever and download whichever game save interests you. 2. Open the save file with PS2 Save builder, highlight the three files on the left, and extract them to a folder with the same name as the first file. (For FPR-US, it should be BASLUS-21702). Copy that newly made folder, and the extracted files in it to your USB drive. 3. Extract the Ulaunchelf .zip just like you would with any other .zip file. Rename Boot.elf to SWAPMAGIC.ELF (I'm pretty sure the caps are important.) Create a new folder and name it SWAPMAGIC. Move SWAPMAGIC.ELF into that folder. Copy that new SWAPMAGIC folder to your USB drive. 4. Stick the USB drive and Swap Magic in your PS2, then turn it on. The initial Swap Magic loading screen should appear, but not the one that asks you to load a program. Instead, it should load Ulaunchelf. 5. The Ulaunchelf interface is pretty simple one you get used to it. Circle is accept and "X" is back. L1 shows different options and R1 shows different commands like copy, paste, delete, etc. Your memory card in slot one is MC0, so go in and delete your fire pro save (or back it up first if you feel the need), then go to your USB drive (MASS). Copy the entire BASLUS-21702 folder, then mcPaste it to your memory card. The mcPaste step is very important. Using regular paste will corrupt the save. 6. Turn off your PS2, and load Fire Pro. Everything should work fine.

I'm having way too much fun with this edit pack here. The 16-bitiness and limited movesets make it feel like I'm playing an update of Pro Wrestling for the NES.

For those of us with Swap Magic 3.6 or higher, you can use that, a USB drive, and and a program called ulaunchelf to do the same thing. If anyone is interested, I can post full instructions.

WWE General Discussion - January 2008

I went to a WCW house show in either '96 or '97. The main event was The Giant, Hall, & Nash vs. The Dungeon of Doom. All I really remember specially from that team was Bubba Rogers or whatever they called the Bossman back then from that team. They spat on each other a lot. I also remember Harlem Heat playing heel even though they were faces on TV. That confused the hell out of my little 10-11 year old brain. -

(By the way, that last post was supposed to be for last night. Somehow the page didn't load then, and when I came back to my computer tonight and hit refresh that happened.) I went to a house show the day after Christmas. They're so much better than TV tapings, and way better than that horrible piece of shit PPV I went to in September this year. We got Orton/Jericho, HHH/Umaga in a cage, and Jeff/Kennedy as the main matches with the cage match as the main. They let the audience "choose" the main event's gimmick through text messaging. The greatest part of the night was these two little kids that came out with Tony Chimmel and sat with him the whole show. After his entrance, Umaga started stalking all three of them around the ring while the ref tried to stop him. The look of pure fear on these kids' faces was wounderful. I figured they'd have HHH come out and get between them. That would make sense, right? Well, his music hit and he power-walked by the whole scene so he climb on top of the cage and pose. Of course, Umaga kept on chasing the little kids around and around the whole time. It was great. -

You know what I'll do when Maria's pictures are posted online? If I run across them, I'll probably open the link in a new tab, move on to something else while they're loading, and come back to that tab a few hours later just to glance, nod my head, and close it. -

People sure do get excited about the smallest things. Personally, I'm more interested in seeing Santino's on-screen reaction. -
Fuck yeah. I love this game. It's exactly what I thought it was. I got it yesterday, and was able to play it for a few minutes before go out. I played some more after getting home, and had an awesome 8-man elimination tag with a bunch of NOAH guys. I was sure it was going to go to a 60 minute draw. The match was Kobashi (me), Honda, KENTA, & Marufuji vs Misawa, Yone, Ogawa, & Taue. Honda made Taue tap at about the 20 minute mark. He tagged in Marufuji, who got the crap beat out of him by Yone and Ogawa while Misawa watched for nearly 20 minutes straight. Marufuji caught Yone in a roll up to eliminate him, and got caught in one from Ogawa right after for his elimination. Honda goes back in and quickly taps out to Ogawa. I run in and start beating on him thinking I'm going to have an easy victory now, and I get caught in a roll up. Everything goes bonzo gonzo and such, and during this mess KENTA calmly walks over to Ogawa, grabs him, and hits the GTS for the pin. So it's Misawa vs. KENTA with about 8 minutes left. Misawa grapples, but KENTA reverses it and hits a tiger suplex for a 2.9. Misawa gets up and connects with a rolling elbow for his own 2 count. A frog splash from Misawa only gets a 2, so he lifts KENTA and and gets pelted with a strike senquence for 2. KENTA picks up Misawa, grapples, and eats a tiger driver for the finish at just after 58 minutes. This game is happy fun time incarnate.

I really think Flair's last match should be against HHH or Michaels. There story is right there for both, and there really isn't any rub from beating Flair anyway so there shouldn't be any of those complaints about young guys never being put over.

I've played both GBA games and Fire Pro X for the SNES, so I feel I'm set.

I ordered this from Amazon.com a couple of days ago. I'm excited.

My little brother got the Wii version for Christmas. Jesus, what a crappy game. It was fun for about two hours, but now we're all bored with it. I've yet to beat more than two people in "Main Event" mode just because I get tired of randomly waving around the Wiimote trying to reverse shit.

I'm a Khali fan, but he definitely has a lot of shortcomings as a wrestler. Henry, on the other hand, has nice enough offense, sells and bumps well enough, and works had. That's more than plenty of guys can say.

I switched from Windows back to Linux, and was stuck only playing TEW '05 on my girlfriend's old computer. I finally got it running under WINE, so I'm continuing my game. The worst was when he did the little Ohtani fire sword pose after the boot scrape. I cringed a bit there.

Did they ever mention Cade and Kendrick being his students during one of the Londrick/Rednecks match?

The Memphis show drew maybe 5,000, but probably closer to half that. The whole thing was considered a disaster. Hogan's appeal is strictly nostalgia, and nothing more. I was there, I think it was agreed it was only about 2,500. I don't remember this. I didn't see anyone filling up any seats anytime during the show.

I want to see the monster match just to see Abyss humorously oversell Nakanishi's weird-ass offense. -
I don't know about great, but I like it. So, I don't watch Mexico much anymore, but since when did either man wear a mask anymore?

Why bring up the real life versus kayfabe shit to mock a storyline? Vickie fucked over Taker by making sure he didn't win his match against Batista Sunday night, and he beat her up for it. How does this not make perfectly logical sense within the confines of a pro wrestling storyline?

The title change makes me sad and confused. Also, was ECW taped after Smackdown this week?
