I think a lot of people are missing the whole "popular in their time" thing. Just because a casual remembers seeing Hall and Nash on T-shirts in Wal-Mart doesn't really make them fit this list. Hell, if I asked my mom to list a bunch of wreslters, she'd be knee-deep in 70's AWA midcarders before she even think of Attitude Era guys. I used to work with a guy who only ever watched 70's Crockett Promotions when he was a kid. He'll talk about Johnny Valentine and Gene & Ole Anderson for days, but only remembers Flair as a relative rookie. Everybody has different memories.

Really? I've found Shelton to be pretty shitty for years.
-
That Civic SI would be pretty sexy if it were green or black.

Yeah, I don't like the Palumbo/Punk stuff. I did at first, with Palumbo losing by DQ, but to follow it up by him beating up Punk ever more is pretty shitty. Well, I was interested in more Palumbo/Punk. Also, the Tazz/Adamle stuff is really weird. None of that would have made TV if it wasn't planned, though. At least they have me curious.

Keiji Muto to challenge Nakamura for IWGP title
tekcop replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
While it's not happening, I'd really dig it if he dropped it to Goto instead. This is pretty surprising though, as I figured Muto had no chance whatsoever. -
Dandy, I actually thought of you after I finished typing, but the negativity was so overwhelming that I just left it. bps, that a very good point, but it's something I've come to terms with a long time ago. The have two real brands and multiple main eventers, so a lot of guys don't make the PPV cut more than a few times every month.

Mick Foley offered commentating job on smackdown
tekcop replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in The WWE Folder
Coach as a PBP guy on ECW probably wouldn't be that bad. I'd still prefer Matthews, but I'll take what I can get. -
Personally, I think WWE is better now than it's ever been. 80's WWE may be nostalgic goodness, but the actual match quality was crap compared to what the competition was offering. Early 90's and early 2000's were the dark ages with little glowing bright spots here and there, and I never enjoyed the Attitude Era's crash TV and super short matches. WWE may be playing it safe, but it's working. Batista/Michaels is really intriguing and should bring it in the ring to some point. I'm loving everything involving Big Show since his return. While Cena hasn't had a stand out match yet this year, 2007 for Cena should go down as one of the best years ever for any wrestler. Undertaker has been awesome since about 2003 or so. Orton's been the best heel I've seen in years. Punk, Jericho, MVP, Morrison, Miz, and both Hardys, stand out in the midcard as something special, while a bunch of other guys (Yang, Moore, Finlay, Regal, Kofi, Palumbo, Noble, etc) bring it when given the chance. I could go on, but I'm starting to ramble. Really, the only things I don't like are how Ashley's in the Women's division, how some midcard guys never get a chance to shine, and how mediocre ECW title matches on PPV always are.

You need at least one person that has positive feelings towards the product if you're going to continue this.

Maybe he doesn't want the extra calories.

First off, Deon's post in this thread are really shit. And as for what I hit "reply" to say, those boots are awesome. I used to buy a ton of shoes and still would, but being unemployed keeps my closet empty.

Hey, I've been doing this for a year with vTap on my phone. I prefer XM Online for my portable music needs, though.

Once a month? Geez. My girlfriend and I have been sharing a car to school and sometimes work to save gas, and we still go though 14 gallons in about six days.
-
I usually watch the show on TiVo with a 20 minute delay so I can skip the commercials so I can't post in the thread during it. Besides, comments made after the show is over are usually a lot better than what's quickly spouted off during the show.

See, that's a different matter entirely. It crossed my mind during the movie, too. Do single people ever get to adopt? I'm curious now.
-
Yeah, Marvin's a dumb shit. I mean, normal people don't raise kids by themselves ever, do they?
-
Punk's still a long way away from being protected, so losing to a 4/5-time world champ due to interference isn't the worst thing in the world. Didn't Edge job around and piddle in the midcard for a whole year after winning MITB?
-
Er... Marvin, I don't think money was ever a concern for her.

This should be as good as most episodes of Smackdown. Taker/Batista should be a full match this week since it's for the title. Edge/Punk and Moore/Miz will both be pretty good, and I totally dug Kozlov's squash last week -- especially that headbutt to the chest.

Puny Puny Poemi: I haven't bothered to check and see if it's on Netflix, but I've wanted to watch it since seeing ads for it on the Excel DVD's way back when. Satoshi Kon stuff: I have all that waiting. I'm expecting goodness. Robot anime: I don't really like most that stuff. In Evangelion, the robots seem secondary, I think that's why I like it. I remember liking Big O's style when it was on Cartoon Network, though. It made me think of TAS Batman. That's not a bad thing. And no, Jingus, I've never watched a single full episode of Cowboy Bebop. What am I missing? As for the horror stuff, I'm disappointed, but it's understandable. I was really kind of hoping at least one of Ito's manga had been anime'd. Of course, I was all excited about the Uzumaki live action movie until I actually watched it. While typing all of this, I found Slam Dunk on Netflix and added it. I know it's kind of exactly what I wasn't asking for, but I really enjoyed the first couple of volumes of the manga that I've read. Is the anime much different?
-
So... anime. I used to be pretty big into it back in the day.... about five years ago. Since I've started to get bored with renting a ton of wrestling off of Netflix, I decided to add Excel Saga and Evangelion to my list. Excel is just as awesome as I remember, maybe even more so now that I'm older. I'm only two episodes in to Evangelion, but I'm enjoying it. I added Paranoia Agent, too. I loved it on Adult Swim back when Kotz/Patrick/whateverhecallshimselfnow raved to me about it every night, but I only seen about half the series. Series wise, that's all I can think of. As for movies, I've seen Akira, Perfect Blue, most all Miyazaki films. I've never seen Ghost in a Shell, so I should probably see that. So, with what little I've given here, does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not interested in stuff like Dragon Ball or Naruto much anymore, same for Rurouni Kenshin, Ranma, etc, as I'd rather watch someone with a deeper story. Unless it's just incredibly wacky like Excel. What about horror? I love Junji Ito's manga work, is there anything similar to that in the anime world?

On FPR, it's called a Leg Lock Suplex Hold, except Regal didn't try to pin Orton with it. I'm pretty sure Danielson did the pinning variation in New Japan. I actively remember him beating Tiger Mask IV with it.

Eric and VitaminX talking about biking kind of pissed me off, so I went an MapQuest'd how far I live from school and work. School: Total Estimated Distance: 39.90 miles Work: Total Estimated Distance: 11.62 miles That, of course, is one way. Driving is my only option for anything. I mean, sure, there's two little convenience stores a couple of miles one way and and auction house/rodeo "stadium" in the other direction that are both within walking distance, but that doesn't exactly excite me.

My girlfriend's OCD means she just has to keep our TiVo "Now Playing" list as neat as possible. She deletes everything, even stuff that hasn't been watched just because it bothers her. She even goes in and permanently deletes the stuff in the "Recently Deleted" list. And yellow dot next to stuff that's set to get deleted to make room when necessary... nope! It either has to be set to "never delete" or it's gone. She spent 10 minutes earlier today going through the list and "cleaning it up." I wanted to strangle her.
