  1. You know, I liked the main event, but I really didn't buy Batista's partners as being that much lower in the pecking order than Hawkins, Ryder, or even Chavo. From a kayfabe point of view, none of those guys should stand a chance against Edge on their best day, but would it really be shocking for any of those guys to pin, oh say... Hawkins in a singles match? No. I don't think so.

  2. D'Lo Brown is who Shelton Benjamin wishes he was....

Wait... what do Shelton and D'Lo have in common outside of the whole black thing? Hey... remember when Marvin said Kofi Kingston shouldn't go to ECW because they already had Burke and Shelton? That was funny.

  3. So, I'm going to... uh... Slammiversary? Is that the next PPV? It's a last minute decision. I haven't watched TNA in a year or so, and haven't even seen a single minute of Impact in a few months, anyone want to catch me up on what's going on? I looked up the card, and it looks like it could be pretty fun at least.

  4. Sometime in '95. Great American Bash was most likely the show WCW was building to, so...

    WCW

    World: The Giant

    US: Konnan

    Cruiserweight: Dean Malenko

    Tag: Sting and Luger (?)

    WWF

    WWE: Shawn Michaels

    IC: Goldust

    Tag: Smoking Gunns

I could be totally wrong, though.

  5. Burzum - Det Som Engang Var

My personal favorite Black Metal album.

Dying Fetus - Stop At Nothing, Nile - Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka

Ignore these and get Fetus's Destroy the Opposition and Nile's In Their Darknened Shrines. Of course both those albums Corey mentioned are good, but these are so much better.

  6. Morrison/Batista was really, really good. Batista is really good at that whole "top-tier face getting beat up by mid-tier heel" match formula. Also, Koslov is still entertaining me, but I'm positive that'll stop as soon as he starts wrestling competitive matches. Nothing else from the show really stands out. Punk/Hardy and Finlay/MVP were perfectly acceptable TV wrestling, though.

  7. Ooh! I like that list, I can probably do that one off the top of my head.

Top matches I've seen in person.

    1. Finlay vs. Rey - Smackdown sometime just before WM22.

    2. Cena vs. Angle - RAW houseshow in 9/05. Much better than any of their PPV matches for the WWE Title.

    3. Regal vs. Benoit - Same SD as the Finlay/Rey match. Really short, and I was disappointed live, but really liked it after watching it on TV.

    4. Show vs. Hogan - Memphis show last year. Even though I'm a big fan of Show, this would have been so much better with Lawler. Still, this was a pretty fun Hogan routine match. Seeing Hogan do his shtick live was worth the admission.

    5. Orton vs. Jericho - RAW houseshow 12/26/07. Much better than their lackluster performance at Armageddon.

  8. I think a lot of people are missing the whole "popular in their time" thing. Just because a casual remembers seeing Hall and Nash on T-shirts in Wal-Mart doesn't really make them fit this list. Hell, if I asked my mom to list a bunch of wreslters, she'd be knee-deep in 70's AWA midcarders before she even think of Attitude Era guys. I used to work with a guy who only ever watched 70's Crockett Promotions when he was a kid. He'll talk about Johnny Valentine and Gene & Ole Anderson for days, but only remembers Flair as a relative rookie. Everybody has different memories.
