This is one of those topics that I'm just starting because I'm bored and I think this could provide some humor. So, what are you're favorite announcer shoot comments? A couple recent ones to get started: A couple weeks ago on Raw, JR and the King were discussing the WM triple threat: King: I guess Benoit and Michaels think that HHH is just gonna lay down and let one of them win, but that ain't gonna happen. JR: Yeah, HHH won't lay down for anybody. Then during the Lesnar/Goldberg debacle, JR had a couple more: "This match is about FINALITY!" "Austin just stunned Brock Lesnar right outta the WWE... ring.

I remember Angle and Austin having a really good match around this time (the one where HHH returned), but that might have been in 01. I'm not sure.

There was a really good 10 man shortly after the Radicals debuted. I think it was HHH, X-Pac, Benoit, Saturn, and Dean vs. The Rock, Mick Foley, Rikishi, and 2 cool. You also might include HHH vs. Taka. I have no idea for the date on that one.

As overrated as Warner is, he's probably still better than Quincy Carter. Although, Quincy is younger and has less injuries, I suupose. Tyler: Dan Marino put up great numbers for some time and not only did he not have big name receivers, he didn't even have a credible running game.

I hope Kurt goes to the Cardinals to see how good he truly his. With Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Ricky Prohel, Az Hakim, and Marshall Faulk, Ryan fucking Leaf could be an MVP. I want to see how Kurt can do with nothing around him. I'm sure he would be exposed as a mediocre QB who was in the right place at the right time. That would stop the media from jacking off to him once and for all.

Well, it appears the Rockets did not bring their A-game to either game so far. They better win Friday and Sunday or they're done. Although, their recent performance gives me little confidence they can do that. The only slight hope is the Lakers haven't exactly been on fire with their play either. Not like it matters, though. All these two teams are playing for is the right to job to the Spurs in the next round.

So I was watching a Thanksgiving SD once, while enduring criticism from my grandma and aunt about wrestling. I tried to dispell all of the stereotypical arguments used against wrestling (it's fake, trashy, etc), but the next match shot my case in the leg. Torrie vs. Stacy in a gravy bowl

I've got a pretty bad one: Friend: Why do yo watch wrestling? It's so gay. Me: Come on. Don't knock it until you actually watch a complete show. Friend: Maybe. When does it come on? Me: Tonight. 8:00 on TNN, channel 49. *Freind watches Raw. Unfortunately, it's the one where HHH makes the Katie Vick announcement, implying Kane raped her. Next Day: Friend: That was disturbing and stupid. I'm never going to watch again. Me: Alright, I know that wasn't the best show. Don't worry. Kane and HHH have a ppv match this Sunday to end their feud. Just watch next week. I promise you won't see any shit like that again. Boy, was I wrong. The rest is pretty much self-explanatory. He still makes fun of Katie Vick today.

Ah, my bad. I don't know what I was looking at. I know Houston usually sucks against good teams, but they always play a competitive game against LA. I can see it lasting 7, but I'm not sure Houston pulls out a win. However, if Houston doesn't bring its A-game every night, they'll be down and out in 4 or 5. I agree with you on Malone's play being critical.

Mordecai... offender of religion..
Just John replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
I just think it's funny that when Mordecai feuds with the Undertaker, the Satanic "Lord of Darkness" will be the face while the "Right hand of God" is the heel. I'm not offended in the least, it just struck me as odd. -
I will say I'm glad things turned out the way they did in the west. The Rockets match up much better against LA than they do against Sacramento. I know the Lakers will kick it into high gear now, but the series will be more competitive than you think. I wouldn't be surprised if Houston catches LA slacking in Game 1. And if by some miracle we escape the first round, we play Minnesota or Denver. The Rockets matched up well against both of them in the regular season.

Amen. I haven't noticed an increase in pops for any moved Canadian face. A wrestler's home town doesn't affect his reaction unless they're in his home town. That being said, why the hell was Benoit's town changed a month before his first big title defense in Edmonton? It just doesn't make sense. The Gail Kim "Korea" thing bothered me too. Have the writer's even looked at a map from the last 50 years? What's Next? Is Kenzo Suzuki going to be from "Asia?"

You'd be done after the first match at any 96-97 WCW ppv. Hell, you'd probably be nearly smashed after his rant about the main event at the top of the show.

I'll be cheering for the Rockets, but they've been playing like crap lately. I think it comes down to the Kings and Spurs, depending on the final brackets. I think either of them could beat the Lakers in a 7 game series. For what it's worth, I see the Nets coming out of the east for the 3rd year in a row. The Heat will surprise a lot of people.

The Nashville Predators yellowish jerseys are repulsive. The new "PHX" Suns orange is pretty nasty as well.

Or whenever he talks about the "game of human chess."

The Falcons had the same record as the Broncos that year (14-2). They actually weren't that bad of a team, contrary to what most bitter Viking fans will tell you.

Take a drink when: The NWO beats down a WCW face Tony Schiavone claims that something is "the best in the history of this sport."

HHH vs. Flair wasn't really a good match. It was just a typical Raw main event. All of the build up in the world can't save a mediocre match. If it could, Flair/Taker at WM 18 would be *****. I voted for HHH/Micheals, which in my opinion, is the best of their recent matches. It actually focused on the wrestling, instead of foreign objects and massive blading. The cop out finish was acceptable because it set up the rematch. While I liked the WM 20 triple threat more, that match was all Benoit. If anyone else was in his spot, no one would care about the match.

The 2003-04 Magic could and should be considered a major disappointment. Last year, they played Detroit (1 seed) to 7 games and everyone had high hopes coming into this year. The first game this year, they beat the Pistons on the road... and then proceed to lose 19 straight en route to possibly 63 losses this year. The 96 Rockets should also be mentioned. Hakeem, Drexler, and Barkley all for nothing. I also must agree with the 2003 Bucs.

Since the re-draft, not a single woman has been on Smackdown. I don't think too many smarks care about the absence of Torrie, Sable, Dawn, or Shaniqua, but it just seems odd that they would all disappear. Do any of you know what happened to any of them?

Papacita, don't tell me you consider anything with the Dungeon of Doom realistic. While we're on the subject, what were they feuding over to begin with?

Pop culture reality TV is based on laughing at someone else for failing, getting injured, embarrassed, or emotionally devestated on national tv. Sporting events, nature/history documentareis, and the news are the only "real" TV shows out there.

That always confused me. Whenever I watch ppv's from that era, someone different was getting cheered. At the Great American Bash 96, Benoit got cheered against Sullivan. In a tag match at Bash at the Beach 96, the Horsemen were very heelish and the DoD acted like faces. That makes me ask, why the hell there would be a stable war with no faces, but I then I remember it's WCW.

I have no argument on the women stuff because I know they've toned that down quite a bit (save for the Jackie flashing stuff). I was just focusing on the language. I know it wasn't as severe as it was at the height of the attitude era, but the words ass, damn, hell, and bitch still make it on Raw regularly. Jericho, HHH, Austin, and JR usually do most of the swearing. I'm not complaining, but it doesn't seem like they've toned the language down compared to 2001.
