The drop heard 'round the world London, Ontario, Canada August 16, 2004 by Anthony Cali Just 24 hours after the biggest night of his career, Randy Orton experienced the biggest shock of his life. The youngest World Champion in WWE history was in the midst of a joyous, emotional celebration when his Evolution runningmates violently attacked him. “Batista had me hoisted me up on his shoulders, and I was enjoying such a personal high,” Orton recalled. “I had such a great feeling inside, when all of a sudden, he spun in a circle, and I saw Triple H with his thumbs up. Then, I saw his smile turn into a frown, and as that thumb pointed downward, my stomach dropped. I knew exactly what was happening. “It was just like in Goodfellas, when Joe Pesci walked in, thinking he was going to be made. He saw the plastic on the floor, and boom, he got shot in the head. He knew what was coming, and when I saw Hunter’s thumb go down, I knew what was coming, too.” After Triple H signaled the assault, Batista threw Orton backward in an Electric Chair Drop, and began the beating. Orton was kneed in the groin by his former mentor, Ric Flair, and violently powerbombed to the mat by Batista. And as the two held the helpless Orton, The Game peppered him with rabbit punches, and struck him in the face with Orton’s championship belt. “I think that shot was what started the blood flow – that and the numerous punches” Orton said as he touched the fresh cuts on his forehead. “They went crazy on my face. I’m black and blue all over, my head’s swollen, and I feel like crap.” Earlier that evening, an attack was the furthest thing from Orton’s mind. “When I went out there tonight to face Chris Benoit, I had one thing on my mind –defeating him, and keeping that title for more than 24 hours,” Orton said. “There was so much riding against me, because I think that a lot of the fans would look at my victory as just some 24-year-old punk kid who got the belt, held it for a day, and lost it. “So there were a lot of other things riding on this. It was my self-respect, and the respect of the fans to me. And that’s all I was thinking of. It never crossed my mind once that Evolution would do what they did, but jealousy does crazy things to people.” Without Evolution, Orton finds himself in a precarious situation. During his time with the faction, Orton amassed a large collection of enemies, meaning that his pursuit for revenge will likely be a one-man mission. “What’s done is done,” Orton said. “They left me laying in a bloody mess, and now someone’s gotta pay. It’s always gonna be three on one, so I don’t know exactly what I want to do right now. I have to sit back, collect my thoughts, and absorb what happened. I have a lot of thinking to do right now.” Credit: WWE.com

I was able to find all three classic Shaft movies.

I believe it was heading to the St. Valentines Day Massacre for the first ever last Man Standing match against The Rock if I'm not mistaken.
-
Rebutal: Totally false. The Rock is easily one of the most charismatic and entertaining workers ever. He always pops a high rating, and his sporadic appearences on RAW are always the highlight of every show. Counter rebuttal: Wrong. No matter how popular the Rock is, he is retired and constantly relying on him for the cheap pop makes it that much harder to put over future stars. They shouldn't have to use the Rock, Hogan, Foley or whoever to put people over today. Counter to your counter: The pop the Rock gets is far from Cheap. The crowd genuinely loves him, and all the heat he draws is from his outstanding work on the mic. Even though they never capitalized on it, The Rock single handedly took The Hurricane from being a bottom of the card comedy gimmick to a potential main event player. A majority of Eugene's popularity can also be attibuted to that one segment with The Rock as well. I'll agree with Foley and others being used for cheap pops, but The Rock is no where's near that territory. In addition to the previous rebuttal: The Rock should come back more often because at least he can still put on a good match. There is also some dream matches that I would like to see happen. False, Angle can be entertaining as a face. HHH is not.

Eliminate her!

True, Rico needs to drop being gay and go back to the badass Role Model he used to be or touch up on his old Fashion Stylist self and be similar to that of Rick Martel. *misses Rico & Charlie as a tag team

I'd like to see the SD6 get back together with Jericho taking Edge's place. They were carrying the show while Lesnar was feuding with Undertaker and Big Show.
-
Rebuttal: I disagree, I'd like to see Shawn work with Jericho, Benoit, or Flair again. I'd also like to see Michaels work a program with Angle or The Rock. I have no problem with HBK being around if he's not in the title picture (and if he is, he should fucking get the belt already after the last 5 times he was denied, that shit gets annoying.)
-
Rebuttal: They do, but they just don't want to send anybody over to help and expect the show to survive on green rookies.
-
^ Rebuttal: I enjoyed Angle / Guerrero @ WM XX more than I did with Angle / Cena @ No Mercy last year so I feel Angle / Guerrero III would be a better choice since they would put on a better match IMO.

^ I'm with the Booker love too. False. Bradshaw does not fucking rule. He brings nothing to the table except "Haha, I'm richer than you!" or "OMG~!! Mexicans are EEEEEEEEEEEVIL!" He is not a draw, him being a carbon copy of Ted Dibiase / Tiger Ali does not help, he does not put on good matches, is at best US title material, and is the most undeserving of the WWE title as he was best known for being a jobber (mostly a tag team jobber) for the past 8 years prior to Mega Push To Gold. Statement: I believe what he was trying to say is have Hulk Hogan on the show to get pops and ratings in a non-wrestling role position like Austin as the co-GM / Sheriff was for RAW. Dave has been the total package of what a wrestler should be, while it took months for Randy Orton to evolve into what he is now........transitional champ. Now that Randy has been excommunicate from the stable it is time for Dave to shine as the pinnicle of what the Hoss should be.........the ruler and master of the world! True. Dave Batista should be World Heavyweight Champion instead of Randy Orton and should be treated like RAW's Brock Lesnar. True, either John Cena or Eddie Guerrero should be in SD's WM XXI main event or both. True. I've always been a Rodney Mack fan except for Al Snow incident. He's not THAT bad of a wrestler and would only get better if he could have decent mic skills which is what is hurting him the most IMO.

When did Backlund come back to the WWF, when/how he did turn heel, and when did he leave the WWF?
-
That's cool he's selling his SummerSlam 1992 trenchcoat thingy, I'll be damned if anybody will actually pay that much for his stuff. - Deon

He moved there from Shithole, TX after getting rich from his Stock Market investments.

I got a Coby, I got it at Wal-Mart for like $40. Its thin as hell, its region free, and it'll play copies. Haven't had a problem with it so far.

I don't mind Taker / Angle for that title, just not at WM, save that for No Mercy, Survivor Series, RR, or No Way Out or some shit.

I'd rather have Angle / Taker for No Mercy than Undertaker and fucking Bradshaw again.
