I was very happy that TNA utilized Christian the right way by giving him a truly memorable title win by defeating Jeff Jarrett and getting a good run out of it. Otherwise, he still would've been floundering around in WWE going nowhere. Hell, when they moved him to SD, I thought he still had a chance, but they wouldn't even give him the U.S. title so I don't blame him for jumping at all. He's done very well for himself.

IIRC Back in 2003, Ric Flair conducted a radio interview where he said he was actually a 23 time World Champion, but a lot of the title wins were ignored because they happened overseas or at several untelevised events where Flair would lose it and win it back again like two nights later so they kept it at 16 to make easier to keep track of. IIRC he married that hot ring announcer chick (forgot her name) that was on SD for a couple of years. -
Has Shawn Michaels EVER wrestled a match with Booker T?

I figured they would do a Wrestlemania main event rematch at Backlash since that's a typical trend as seen with Backlash 1999, 2004, and 2005. If Cena is not involved, even better because its not predictable. I think JBL was placed in there because if HHH wins the WWE Championship, we can FINALLY get that HHH Vs. JBL feud. -
I enjoyed it from start to finish. It was a dream match that paid off with the old school WWF storyline telling (Michaels turned heel to give Hogan One More Match and Hogan kicked his ass for payback.) Michaels overselling didn't bother me because that is what Michael is best known for doing and I'm glad HBK the politician got a taste of his medicine trying to play games with HULK HOGAN. I will say though my favorite part of the match was when Michaels got hit by Hogan's big boot to fall down, get right back up, to fall down again with Hogan giving a classic WTF reaction.

Some of those matches were on the Just Bring It DVD, but that's a good collection altogether though. I'll pick it up.

I was pretty excited watching the segment on SD (Nice to see Michaels make rare appearances on the show). Batista BADLY needs to turn heel to refreshen his character although I think if a match is going to be booked for Backlash, I would assume Batista would win seeing how Shawn beat him the last time they wrestled.

I didn't like Carlito when he first came in, especially with the strong push he was getting by winning titles off the bat and going bigger stars, but he's won me over during the years and he can be a good when he's motivated. I really enjoyed with match with Randy Orton at Unforgiven 2006.

This is probably going to be a long list, but list all the times where So and So retired afterwards either for good, a long time before an eventual comeback, or a quick / false retirement and return Roddy Piper - Vs. Arian Adonis @ Wrestlemania III (Piper would return from Hollywood 2 years later) Hulk Hogan - Vs. Sid Justice @ Wrestlemania VIII (Hogan returned the next year at Wrestlemania IX), I also remember Hogan "retiring" in late 1998 for a bid as U.S. presidency, but I don't remember what his last month prior to it was. Randy Savage - Vs. The Ultimate Warrior @ Wrestlemania VII (Savage would return near the end of the year) Mick Foley - Vs. HHH @ No Way Out 2000 (Foley returned the following month), Vs. HHH Vs. Rock Vs. Show @ Wrestlemania 16 (Foley stayed out as an in-ring competitor until his return at The Royal Rumble 2004) Curt Hennig - Vs. Buff Bagwell at some WCW PPV (Hennig came back the next night) I also recall Ric Flair losing a Career Threatening Match against Hulk Hogan @ Halloween Havoc 1994 (Flair would be reinstated the following year) I'm sure there's a lot more, but that's all I can think of right now. This should be fun.

That was really cool! Damn shame that was a prank. If it was up to Hollywood though: Elijah Wood - Link Naomi Watts - Zelda Dominic West - Ganon/dorf

I always thought Undertaker's new finisher was just the Triangle Chokehold? Its better than him using the Dragon Sleeper. I don't mind him using the TCH, but it should be a last resort finisher if the Chokeslam or the Last Ride doesn't work or if his opponent is too heavy for him to Tombstone them. Codebreaker. I love it. I was really happy he has an impact finisher now. And if they're gearing up for a feud with Punk of some kind, it's a nice foil to the GTS. Its a lot better than that other finisher he had been using in late 2001. That full nelson face slam or whatever it was.

TSM Town Hall: The Brand Extension - Six Years Later
Lil' Bitch replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in The WWE Folder
I think the World Tag Team Championship are on PPV more often than the WWE Tag Team Championship so I think they are valued more, but I do agree that Morrison / Miz are a better team than Rhodes / Holly. WWE has admitted that the brand split has been a somewhat failure given that they reunited the brands on PPV along the SD / ECW "merger". However, I like the RAW / SD format, just put ECW out of its misery. -
Should Austin come back for one last match at Mania 25?
Lil' Bitch replied to Angle-plex's topic in The WWE Folder
Agreed. They should go for that. -
Supposing Hogan wasn't there, you still rather have seen Yokozuna leaving Wrestlemania IX the WWF Champion than Hart retaining?
-
Bret as Lovable champion vs. Yokozuna as undefeated unstoppable big guy Hogan became a solidified star because he defeated Andre and ended "his streak". I think Hart could've gotten a similar treatment had he been able to do the same thing since Hart was going into the match as the underdog as well. True, but I always hated the finish of WM X that Hart won only because Yokozuna fucked up trying to do his finisher. I mean it was smart for Bret to do it, but I don't know, it was just so...anti-climatic. I'm glad he got it back and it was really cool the other wrestlers came out to celebrate his win, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Should Austin come back for one last match at Mania 25?
Lil' Bitch replied to Angle-plex's topic in The WWE Folder
It'd be nice if Austin came back for one more match. I'd love for him to go against Orton and put him over (you know Legend Killer and all), but seeing how Houston is in his home state, that would require a victory to send the crowd home happy so I think Cena would be a good opponent instead since everybody wants to see him get his ass kicked now anyway. Of course, I'm still for Austin Vs. Hogan, but that ain't happening even if Austin was 100% guaranteeed going over so I think they should do Austin Vs. Helmsley or Austin Vs. McMahon: The Final Chapter if Austin is coming back to go out for good. I agree with everybody else that the Stone Cold Vs. The Rock from WM XIX was a great way to go out and Austin should leave at that. Just make the HOF final speech to show up the next night, have a beer, and stun somebody. -
I was going to start a new thread in General, but I think I'll post it here to keep this thread going. List your top 10 favorite Ric Flair matches: Vs. Terry Funk, I Quit Match at Clash of the Champions IX Vs. Ricky Steamboat, Chi-Town Rumble Vs. Randy Savage, Wrestlemania 8 Vs. Bret Hart, the WWF Championship match in Saskatoon 1992 Vs. Vader, Starrcade 1993 Vs. Sting, final Monday Nitro Vs. The Undertaker, Wrestlemania 18 Vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Steel Cage match, Taboo Tuesday 2005 Vs. Mick Foley, I Quit Match at SummerSlam 2006 Vs. Shawn Michaels, Wrestlemania 24

Just to make the fans feel good. I'm sure the Rock wasn't sincere about it and would rather work with Cena, Orton, or somebody else before he faces HBK.
-
I'm assuming they faded out with Flair's robe and boots in the ring?
-
That may be so, but the story was could Bret Hart, the fighting champion, defeat the unstoppable Yokozuna? It was the 90s version of Hogan Vs. Andre. It was what the fans wanted to see and it would've done a big wonder for Bret's career had he been able to defeat Yokozuna. I remember being there live and marking out big time when Hart slapped on the Sharpshooter. Then of course, Hogan had to come in and steal the show and add nothing afterwards with a pointless title run.

I disagree. I thought what made this show better were the unexpected winnings of CM Punk and Orton. Why should HHH win? I didn't see anything new or exciting from another Helmsley title run besides a fresh and potentially fun feud with JBL over the WWE Championship. Randy Orton deserved to win more than anything. JBL and Mayweather weren't going to lose, I knew that from the get-go. Edge winning would've been great, but honestly The Undertaker HAD to win since they've been building up his revenge for like what 10 months? Not only did Edge swipe the title off him in a blindside match, but he also cost him the title again at SSeries. I was shocked WWE waited this long to provide the pay-off so kudos to them for doing that.
