WWE General Discussion - December 2007
Lil' Bitch replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
A Wrestlemania main event without HHH involved is more interesting as witnessed this year with Cena / Michaels. At least John can be thankful that HHH's injury forced him out and allowed Cena to become the longest reigning WWE Champion since Hulk Hogan otherwise Cena would've been Helmsley's job boy in their rematch. There's no good outcome here. Either Orton or Batista get humilated as HHH becomes the WWE Champion again for the 12th time in the main event. Ugh. If I had to pick my poison, I'd rather see Batista go the distance and lose. -
According to what's written, it sounds like the finish of Montreal was purely Shawn's idea at least according to the book.

Take it for what its worth, but according to OK! Magazine, Linda really doesn't want to divorce Hulk and that she filed the papers to get his attention because she felt that he wasn't taking their recent personal problems seriously. However, if Hogan doesn't straighten up, she'll have no choice, but to leave him and move on with her life.

Yeah, Cena won the Rumble since he touched the floor first, but of course they had to the restart so Batista could get the win as planned. -

I'm really looking forward to Armageddon. This is the best card since 2002. I'm hoping Mysterio / MVP gets added. -
At this rate, Huckabee has better chance of getting the nom than McCain. That YouTube debate worked against Romney and made me lose confidence in him, he was having the same problem as Hilary about not directly answering some of the questions.

^ Which is another reason why I thought the movie sucked ass.

Oh my, you couldn't be more wrong on that front. This is what The Joker should look like. Agreed, I like the Joker looking all messed up and demented. Not neat and tidy Agreed. He fell into a vat of chemicals. Of course, his face should be messed up from the chemical burns. Although I believe IIRC, the original Batman film got around this issue by explaining that Joker had some plastic surgery to fix most of the damage. Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors of all-time so anybody who got casted for the role of The Joker would have gotten the same flack as Ledger has. However having seen most of his work, Heath is a really good actor and I know he will do great in The Dark Knight.

Has Randy Savage ever wrestled Rick Rude? If so, were there any TV bouts?

I'm glad to know that this turned out to be the entire Cena / Kennedy match from that RAW with the post-match Orton attack included. Good for WWE to put back in full matches as exclusive extras. Well, I just watched the documentary part of Shawn's new DVD and it is really good stuff. Nowhere near as much obscure WWF footage as I'd have liked but still some good action and AWA footage. Plenty of attention to Shawn's great return from injury, but it was hard listening to Shawn talking about going through depression since he thought about suicide and also, that he wasn't competent to be able to take care of his family since he couldn't wrestle anymore which caused him to do drugs and booze. And unfortunately, they focused A LOT on the screwjob and Triple H had a lot of needless crap to say, even Ted Dibiase seemed to harp on Bret being 'bitter' still and how Shawn wants to patch things up (although I'm sure WWE just asked Ted to say that for them just to make Shawn look good). They showed clips of Bret smashing stuff up whilst talking about how much grudge he has, fair or what. Hunter also said how Bret was going to walk out the next night, when not under contract, which is bullshit because he still had like another 30 days left and would have dropped it anytime if Vince had let him. Hunter is just being a complete revisionist nitwit and Shawn tells a different story with each interview he does regarding Montreal. (In the Heartbreak and Triumph book, Shawn says he was the mastermind behind the whole thing, on the DVD he says it was Vince's idea and he was doing what he was told.) Personally, I think the DVD would've been much better without spending so much time on it. It's so disappointing that WWE had taken great strides in patching things up with Bret over the years only for this crap to be released and shown and take it right back to square one. *Sigh* So, aside from the Montreal crap (it never gets old and WWE will never let it die), HBK's DVD is amazing and easily the best Superstar DVD since Flair and Hart. There's a few more matches I would've preferred to have on there like Vs. Bret Hart from Survivor Series 92, Vs. Chris Jericho at WM XIX, or Vs. Shelton Benjamin on RAW in mid-2005, but I'm really grateful WWE went all-out on releasing rare / classic matches instead of just rehashing stuff From The Vault. This DVD set is absolutely worth getting for any HBK fan. Hell, even any wrestling fan out there.

If Hogan came back, I'd like to see him Vs. Cena, Edge, Kennedy, MVP, or a rematch with Orton (where Randy would finally KILL the legend of Hulkamania!)

Death Proof was the better film, but that's me. I stand by that statement too. Having not spoiled myself for the movie, the jump scenes and the creepiness factor played off and the Grudge sequel actually proved to be superior than the not-so-good remake of the previous installment. It was a lot better than that piece of shit Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel (only good part of that movie was R. Lee Ermey)

Just watched it and it was a good movie. Timothy Olyphant proved me wrong and made an excellent 47.

Ugh, at least this point, the best GOP candidate is Mitt Romney. I love McCain and normally I'd support him, but he's fucked himself over by remaining loyal to Bush. I'm sticking with Obama, but of course Hilary is going to win the nom (unless she fucks up BIG TIME) and more than likely the White House mainly because people like her husband, ugh.
-
If you're going to call Bush the worst President ever based on Iraq, then Lyndon B. Johnson should get the nom then for keeping us in Vietnam for all those years that got all those soliders killed for...nothing!

I stand by my statement of Shoot 'Em Up being the SHITTIEST film of 2007. The Mist is close behind. Yes, if we're going by the Shitacular scale. Norbit Hostel 2 The Hills Have Eyes 2 Blood and Chocolate Premonition Pathfinder Ghost Rider Hannibal Rising Dead Or Alive Resident Evil: Extinction Highlander: The Source Captivity The Reaping Dragon Wars Code Name: The Cleaner Epic Movie Planet Terror The Number 23 Evan Almighty

Is it me or has WWE coincidentally gotten better since John Cena was relieved of the WWE Championship? It seems like the quality of WWE's programming has increased tremendously since then.

This movie was a complete waste of time. Avoid it unless you like watching shitty movies.

I'm gonna have to disagree with some of the negative people here. I am not so much upset about authenticity, as every "true" story made in hollywood has timelines changes, events altered, and additions to the plot to make it more interesting and palatable to the audience (and to make more money of course) Most lifestories, no matter how interesting, can be improved by a screenwriter in some way, and in Hollywood, that's exactly what almost always happens. No problems there really, for me anyway. The film was highly entertaining. The art direction, acting, and directing of the actors was excellent. Denzel and Crowe definitely played their roles dead-on and do not disappoint. The story had a natural flow and rhythm that only a master director could achieve with such a broad scope. It is definitely an above average film and absolutely worth seeing.

Austin / Hart for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania 14 would have been awesome.

Angle improved the Anglelock when he decided to sit down and wrap his legs around the one with that had the ankle he was trying to snap though. He gave credibility back to the submission when he remembered to go down on the mat. For me: - Dean Malenko's Texas Cloverleaf - Eddie Guerrero's Laso From El Paso - Brock Lesnar's Yamada Legbreaker (the weird ass looking submission that he almost snapped Benoit completely in half with on Smackdown during their world title match) - HHH's Indian Deathlock - Edge's Figure Four Edgelock (I forgot what it was called, it was like a sideways Sharpshooter painful looking submission, the one he used against Micheals on RAW during their feud in early 2005) - Ultimo Dragon's Dragon Sleeper I seem to remember that. And Roddy Piper held the microphone to Backland, who just screamed and that was taken as "I quit" IIRC Backlund fucked up the finish of the match by forgetting to say "I Quit". He said "Yes!" and Piper took that as the forfeit instead.

Jericho looks weird with his haircut (he only did it to advance his adventures in Hollywood), but its something you'll get used to in time. I mean look at Christian when he first got the Buzz Cut. I'm glad Y2J is back though. Hopefully, he'll be better used this time around.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Lil' Bitch replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Chris Benoit was one Hell of a wrestler! -
For the most part, yes, but I wouldn't say it was completely useless. I got the dvd for $20 and it was okay, but compared to other recent superstar dvds (mysterio, hbk), Cena's is by far the weakest. The Good: - The documentary itself is pretty good. Its nice to get some input from Cena's relatives, friends, and co-workers. - Cena comments about the matches before they start so it was nice to hear his thoughts about them. - The extras themselves are neat. The 5 Questions With The Champ segments were certainly interesting and entertaining. I also really liked Cena going into detail about all the different muscle cars he owns. The bad: - Not having Cena give any comments or thoughts for the actual commentary really hurt the program IMO. Also his run as U.S. Champion is practically skipped over, besides beating the Big Show at WM 20 and how cool the spinner belt looked. - a 3 DVD set and only 7 matches overall? Wtf? (Rey has 28 matches, HBK has 14) And half of the ones on Cena's DVD aren't even that good. I give the set a 5 out of 10. My Life had so much potential and WWE chose not to make it as great as it could've been.
