from chriskanyon official website, webmaster Jarod Taft: I talked with Chris last night, he said the idea was first mentioned to him at the PPV. He used a new costume, it's pretty much the same except the green parts are purple. He said their photographer took a bunch of pictures of him in the costume, he's going to try to get a copy of them for the site. A new commentary should be in the works soon too. Interesting note: on the booking sheets, it listed him as Kanyon and when he went out as Mortis, a lot of the guys in the back had no idea who Mortis was. Chris was told to work more like Kane; not to sell much for the local guy he was working with. He used some kicks he doesn't usually use, plus he said he used the reverse boston crab he used to do as Mortis. He said the theme music wasn't the same, they weren't able to get ahold of it, but it is still creepy organ music. Should be interesting.

At least, RVD is keeping his cool about the whole thing. I wouldn't worry about him, it doesn't look like anything he said on there will land him in hot water.

Uncensored 1998 I always thought Bret Hart Vs. Chris Benoit in the final match of the World Heavyweight Title Mayhem Tournament was one of Chris's best work. Chris Benoit Vs. Sid Vicious just because Chris finally won the world title, even if it was just for a day.

For those who don't know, Kanyon is Mortis, an old gimmick (an awesome one too) he used in WCW that was inspired by Scorpion from Mortal Kombat since he was just there to be Glacier's rival. It was claimed that Mortis was a former kickboxer in the gimmick. He had elaborate entrance to which he came to a Phantom of the Opera-like theme. Mortis used to be managed by James Vandenberg and was partners with Wrath (Bryan Clarke a.k.a. Adam Bomb) for awhile. Kanyon hasn't been Mortis since 1998 after he lost a match on Thunder (I forgot to who) to which if he won, he would join Raven's flock. Having lost, Mortis was rewarded with an Evenflow on a ramp backstage and was off TV for awhile before coming back as Kanyon to start a long angled feud with Raven that eventually became a friendship. Now, that he has returned as such, things could get interesting on SD soon...I'm guessing WWE just figured he needed a gimmick. Hopefully, this will get him over and maybe Kanyon will go back to playing mind games with people. I also wonder if they're gonna bust a Mr. America with Kanyon now...

Thanks to Jerry Lynch for the following: I was flipping through the channels during a commercial break for RAW, and came across Celebrity Justice talking about Chyna (Joan Laurer) and Sean Waltman (X-Pac). They said that Chyna was abused by Waltman and he ripped out her hair. Chyna stated that X-Pac threatened to kill himself in the past and is terrified of what he might do.
