Hell yeah, JJ getting kicked = classic.
-
Albert... I mean A-Train has a cool finisher and cool theme music at least. Anyway Yoko / Taker This was much better than their match from the RR. The more I see classic footage like this, the more I hate biker Taker. What was with him wearing the gay ass purple though? The best part about this match (which was the main event if I remember correctly) was... CHUCK NORRIS!!!!
-
I'm wondering when "You Suck!" first started PPV-wise though...
-
Holy shit, classic WWF / WCW footage! *marks out big time!
-
HHH also if you count his French background. Matt Hardy and Eddie Guerrero...both former European Champions.
-
Interesting take on Gail, had NO idea she was...Canadian. O_O Oh yes, you need a Mattitude adjustment, Josh!
-
This would only prove that McMahon is discriminate. If I remember correctly, though, Edge, a Canadian, was the last US Champion. Because Gunn sucks dick as a singles wrestler and will leave a bad first impression for the US title revival. A sour taste in most fans' mouths. Anyway, face vs. face is rare nowadays so I'm expecting the final match to be either Benoit/Guerrero (<----which I am hoping for) or Hardy/Gunn. Benoit / Hardy is anybody's ball game. Now with Gunn / Guerrero, rumor has it Gunn is suppose to win this, but seeing as he is getting shit for pops, they might move along with Eddie's push since a.) he just broke up with Tajiri b.) turned heel, which gets attention and c.) gets more pops than Gunn can ever dream of getting nowadays. Now, this is variable IF WWE decides to go with interferences from Rhyno or Tajiri for the respective matches.

They have promos / segments on Velocity?!! That's fucking cool. I like it.
-
I agree, WWE needs the Rock, I agree with the idea of him becoming a floater, RAW needs him just as bad as Smackdown does. Interesting what new feuds await when he comes back, but personally, I 'm not interested in seeing a Rock/Goldberg rematch.
-
I missed it, which one? The theme used in the Varisty Blues trailer or his James Brown theme? Anyway, the Cat rules, I love how he always punks Josh. "I'm a three time, three time, three World Ka...ra...te Champion!"
-
No idea, but the main focus was gonna be HHH / Austin. Their tag title loss to Benoit / Jericho wa suppose the mark the end of the Power Trip to which HHH was gonna make his face turn. Austin / Jericho was originally gonna be the main event for KOTR. No idea about Angle or the Rock's original roles.
-
Well, if you want to get technical about it, the WWE Eddie love started back in 2000 when he was with Chyna. What was I trying to say is that heel Eddie fought face Edge on the Smackdown right after Unforgiven (I missed the match, but I heard it was better than their matches at SummerSlam and Unforgiven combined!). Heel Eddie got cheered AFTER the match, but despite the crowd applause which was for THAT night, heel Eddie was still heel Eddie, would still be involved in heel promos and heel segments and would continue be heel until his match with Cena, it was after that this that made Eddie a face who got cheered for DURING his match (technically still a heel but still got cheered for JUST like Stone Cold) and would continued to cheered before, during, and after matches for the following months until the Tajiri / Eddie break-up. I mind you despite being a heel, Eddie is still being cheered for (like Matt Hardy).

YES, KANYON!!! Who betta than Kanyon? God, I wish he would get off Velocity sometime soon.
-
I'm guessing he lost to Edge?
-
They had heel Eddie feuding with face Edge at the time. Well, I'm sure people cheered him because of his talent and how good the match was. That's normal, but the fact remains that he was still a heel character-wise and that reaction was for that night only. He would still continue to be a heel along with Chavo for months through more promos / segments until the Cena incident because it was after that incident that Eddie was getting cheered (even though he was a heel, similar to what happened with Austin when he was getting over) for the following weeks. I'm sure of it. And Billy's pushes just never seem to die. I never had a problem with him in tag teams, he always been enjoying to watch in tag teams (Smoking Gunns/New Age Outlaws/him and Chuck before they got gay), but on his own, Billy is just shit both style-wise and he has his lame gimmick (which never got over with the crowd much), I don't why Vince doesn't see / refuses to believe this.
-
What about PPV-wise?
-
I got all the 2001 PPV DVDs (except No Way Out because for some reason, it was the only 2001 PPV not to be on DVD) and I don't recall hearing loud chants from the crowd of "You Suck!" when Angle came out for matches before he turned face later that year...
-
San Diego was expecting HHH, but it didn't show up even when some of the crowd was chanting for him. Knowing Trips, he did for either a.) Wasn't ready in time or b.) Fuck San Diego and wait for MGS. Although I'm pretty sure SD:SYM's storylines might have been possible real stories that could have been used for WWE so HHH returning at Vengeance (courtesy of RAW owner Ric Flair) would have had him beat up Jericho after he won his match, which would have been a good way to end the PPV. Even though he was gone and the Invasion wasn't even suppose to happen, but happened because he was gone, I still wondered how things might have turned out had HHH been there uninjured. *Sees HHH on Team WWF in both the Invasion PPV and Survivor Series 2001.

Why does Billy Gunn get push after push after push? He fucking sucks ass as a singles guy. I don't get it. He won KOTR 99, the win didn't get him anywhere so that bombed. He had his feud with the Rock, that bombed again. He had his feud with Benoit, which also bombed. Benoit has a knack for making his opponents look good in a match, but not even Chris could help Billy out. Hell, they even had to stick Torrie with Billy to help get him over, which isn't working. IF it does come to (and I really hope it doesn't) the final match of Hardy / Gunn. Everybody can agree that Hardy > Gunn. I have a feeling Rhyno will cost Benoit his semi-final match while Tajiri will cost Eddie his match so we could have Rhyno / Benoit and Tajiri / Guerrero set up for Vengeance filling in the last 2 PPV card spots.

I know Lance isn't very popular with the crowd, but its probably the most disrespectful thing you can do to a wrestler as well as with a match that's going on besides flipping that guy off, spitting / throwing at him. Thanks a lot Austin / WWE, Lance's career is fucked for life.
-
Did Bret even have a feud / match with Mankind? Pretty sad they stuck the Patriot in instead JUST so they pointlessly continue the USA Vs. Canada angle.
-
Billy Gunn fought a jobber a week or two ago on Velocity. Even the jobber was getting cheered more than Billy. Seriously. As for the Guerrero face turn, it happened on 1/30/03, the same edition where McMahon announced that the Rock would face Hogan at No Way Out. Cena came out did another one of his raps, but ending it by dissing the Packers (I think they lost a game recently at that time). Green Bay BOOED the hell out of him so when Eddie came back, they cheered for him (Eddie was a heel before all this happened) because they wanted Cena's ass kicked.
-
I was at WM 9. I thought Yokozuna was gonna be the first one to do it, but Hogan came out at the end for the save. God, I wish the whole ordeal didn't happen. I wanted to see Yoko tap out to the Sharpshooter (it was already shocking Bret managed to get him into the submission in the first place) 13.) The Goldberg promo at WM (although I took that as a bad shock) 14.) Brock Lesnar botching the Shooting Star Press, pretty much one of the scariest moments in pro wrestling 15.) Eddie Guerrero returning in early 2002 16.) Jericho surprising everybody by winning the Unification Tournament (Pretty much everybody thought it was going to be Austin Vs. Rock) 17.) Albert beating Kane to become the IC champion 18.) HBK returning and joining the nWo 19.) Goldberg's streak ending 20.) Bubba powerbombing Mae Young through a wooden table after jumping off the RAW stage to do it. 21.) The Milk Truck

I hope so. I don't think I've ever seen Billy Gunn in a singles match that was considered to be "good". I just love how they tease us with Benoit/Guerrero to be a possible final match. Chris and Eddie have always had good matches. I really liked their match from Armageddon last year also.
-
Well, I feel Eddie is just one of those guys that should stay on one side. In his case, a heel. He's been a heel for 90% of his career (like Jericho). The only reason why he became a face this year in the first place was because Green Bay cheered for Eddie because they wanted him to kick Cena's ass after cutting that heat promo on them on that one edition of Smackdown. Anyway, I always liked Eddie as a heel. Cheat To Win, its legendary from him. And he still gets the crowd behind him despite being a heel (like Matt Hardy), I find that impressive.
