  1. But WCW drew more money, had much larger crowds, had cable TV and had decent PPV buys. Which is the point of having a wrestling promotion. And surely the "epitome" of anything, never mind wrestling, wouldn't have employed Hack Meyers?
  2. Sorry I haven't been around. Both work, and then having a mate come over from Sweden meant I didn't have the time to listen to and mark the last lot. I'll have a body parts album up tomorrow sometime.
  3. A legit title win!? There's not been a legit title win in pro wrestling since 1905 for God's sake!
  4. Ah, no it isn't. I misread the report. Surely it's not just about Huddleston though? I've only seen him three times, but he didn't strike me as being good enough to quit over
  5. WHAT!? Jesus, colour me surprised. Oh, right, it's because the board think he's been stealing stuff. Fair enough then, although does suggest a guilty concious...
  6. The Piper/Bruno match worked for me, but the Hart/Michaels one comes up with page cannot be found Thanks though.
  7. Ah. I was just about to post the spreadsheet. Cheers Brian.
  8. Sounds good should they sign. Although I'm not a fan of Hart, to be honest. I've not seen a lot of him, but what I have see hasn't been too impressive. I remember a match he had with Am Drag in MLW and was very very disappointed with it. There was a spot where he went for a fippy thing from the top and landed on his arm, he then sold the arm like death for 30 seconds, but them miraculously was able to use that very same arm to put some submission hold and Dragon. Immediatly after Drag tapped the arm might as well have been shot again, but then he did his flips and his arm was fine and so and so on. But hopefully I've just not seen him at his best.
  9. But in the match he doesn't know it's only going to last three minutes, so the rest hold is there as he's saving energy for later in the match should it go 20/30m are whatever. Anyway. Michaels is my answer.
  10. I don't think CarnivalizComing is too bad really. He is a JJ mark, but that in and of itself isn't too terrible. And he does admitt and discuss problems in TNA relativly ok. He certainly isn't a bizzaro world Housewife though, thank God.
  11. Isn't Housewife doing the sort of thing 'Dave O'Neil, Journalist', God bless him, got banned for? Or is it only bannable when you take it out of the TNA folder?
  12. Has to be league and LDV double for the reds! Almost as stupid was someone coming in the William Hill where I work asking for odds on Man City winning the Prem. I think I offended him by bursting out in laughter...
  13. I think there was something on Wrestleline ages ago about Michael Cole's commentry. It was along the lines of instead of saying "and Billy Gunn's knee has been smashed against the ring post!", he says "and the knee of Billy Gunn has been smashed against the ring post!". Which makes the the action seem more, erm, 'distant', sort off. I'm not sure how they, or I can, describe it, but it does make a difference I feel to how involved he sounds.
  14. But there was a bid of $500m from SFX rejected in May 2000, and that was when they were lucky if buyrates got above 0.2. But I'd imagine most of that valuation came from the brand value of WCW and the prime time TV slots which TNA don't have of course.
  15. What? Erm, they're a wrestling company, you know? It's not even as if networks were desperate to get the WWE when they leave Spike, never mind an unproven promotion such as TNA. TV networks will never, ever, regardless of who owns, books or wrestles for a promotion 'fall over themselves' to put wrestling on the air because of the stigma of it only being watched by inbred farmers from the South who thinks it's real which means no one wants to advertise on it, which means they can't make money on it. Nitro, when cancelled, was still one of the, if not the, top rated prime time program on the Turner networks, but as it was wrestling they weren't getting in as much advertising revenue which was why it was dropped.
  16. Have they made it credible? Last time I checked he was still facing jobbers, plants and Val/Stevie level wrestlers, who won't made anything credible because they're seen by the crowd as just named job guys. Does it still get boring chants, or has that ended?

  18. People may chant ECW both in the past and now and no one ever chanted WCW. But more people watched WCW, and more people spent money on WCW. That is what's important, not a bunch of hardcore's chanting initials.
  19. Possibly the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life.
  20. That was scrapped pretty much straight away. I beleive the plan was for there to be bad blood between them for a whole year leading up to WM2000 and then for them to finally meet for the first time in the main event. In the end they had a match the day after Show's debut at St Valentine's Day Massascre, or at least very soon after, so that plan obviously didn't last for very long.
  21. They did, but then released him as soon as he was cleared to work. But at least they kept paying him while he was out, which is something.
  22. Well, if you believe Shawn Michaels, the WWE have never cared about what the ratings do anyway. The key part of that statement being of course, if you believe Shawn Michaels
  23. Depends on the deal offered. AJ turned down aWWE developmental deal as TNA allowed him to spend more time at home with his wife, be a 'top' guy, or at least far far higher on the card than he'd get in WWE, and take Indie bookings so he can make pretty much the same if not more than the money WWE offered for a developmental deal. Doesn't strike me as being such a dumb ass choice.
  24. I'd fully agree with you that the ROH tournament was far, far better than the WWF in terms of in ring match quality. I was just saying that the whole point of pro wrestling is to make money, not nessasarilly to have great matches. So from that I'd say that the WWF is 'better' than the Indies as they make more money. But that's just me being a pedantic bastard.
  25. Yes... but I'd imagine the WWF may have drawn a little bit more money, which, y'know, is the whole point
