Why is Indy Wrestling So Much Better Than WWE?
The Decemberists replied to natey2k4's topic in General Wrestling
I'd fully agree with you that the ROH tournament was far, far better than the WWF in terms of in ring match quality. I was just saying that the whole point of pro wrestling is to make money, not nessasarilly to have great matches. So from that I'd say that the WWF is 'better' than the Indies as they make more money. But that's just me being a pedantic bastard. -

Yes... but I'd imagine the WWF may have drawn a little bit more money, which, y'know, is the whole point -
I went to a game in Spain a few years ago, Malaga vs someone, and it's amazing how different it is in terms of what they let into the ground etc. At Forest when you buy a bottle of coke you're not allowed to have the bottle top when you go to your seat but in Spain pretty much anythings let it. I would not be at all surprised if something like Hillsborough or Heysel happens in Italy, especailly, or Spain in the near future. But, as horrible as it sounds, that might be the scare that's needed for them to sort out the power that the Ultras have over there. By the way, have you heard about the time a few years ago at a UEFA conference all the delgates were talking about hooligans and how to deal with them, and the Italian one stood up and announced, "There is no hooligan problem in Italy" and everyone else in the room bust out laughing. Yet still nothing is done about it!

Firstly 'killed' isn't the same as 'murder'. If I'm working on a building site and drop a brick from the top of a building and it hits someone on the head and they die, I've definatly killed them, but not murdered them. In the same way, people pushing other people causing 96 to be crushed to death I believe have 'killed'. I didn't bother fully explaining anything because I wasn't expecting any reaction to it, which may have been naieve but there you go. Thing is, the gross police incompetance and shocking stadium conditions didn't make them charge at the Juve fans. It allowed them to and then lead to the wall collapsing, yes, but the wall wouldn't have fell if the Italians hadn't fled in terror from the charging Liverpool lot. And yes they were behaving like a significant number of football fans but that still doesn't make them not responsible to an extent. And again, Heysel and Hillsborough both being Liverpool fans strikes me and being slightly odd, but I could well be wrong and it just be a whole coincidence. I apologise for offence caused, I should never have brought the subject up in the first place.

But the thing with that is it could possibly go on forever. And for someone to score and then that's it - it's over seems somewhat unfair to me. At least with a shoot out unless you're the last taker there's at least a chance someone else will make up for your miss.

Surely thought he knows the people will never think of him like that because of his marriage to Steph. He can't be foolish enough to think that 20 years from now people will have forgotten about that.

Good point. I'll admit to just thinking about domestic rather than Euro games. Penalties it is then.

is fucking disgracefull and there's no evidence of that. There is evidence though of Liverpool fans running up and taunting the Forest fans, as I've talked to plenty of people I know who were there and they'll all said that happened. AND clearly the police fucked up completely and should 99% of the blame. But - if the Liverpool fans had turned up to the game on time then there wouldn't have been the problem of thousands wanting to get it just before 3pm. And this still happens today, as anyone who go to games will know - people still turn up at 3:10 or so and have to get past people to get to their seat. And again, of course people were drunk - it was a bloody football match. And as I've said, the poor bastards that got killed and their famillies were not in any way imaginable at fault. Forest, and others, were punished after Heysel as all English cliubs were banned from European competiton. So when were finishing 3rd and winning League Cups etc we weren't allowed in the UEFA Cup because of what Liverpool fans did. The police should take 99% of the blame for what happened? I thought you said earlier that Liverpool fans were murderers? Make your fucking mind up. You've gone from sounding like a complete and utter cunt to sounding just plain clueless. Must have been a nice watch for all the Man Yoo fans last night. Won fuck all and having to watch that would have rubbed it in nicely. Wow, thought I'd be banned by now I never said 'murder' or called them 'murderers'. Manslaughter, perhaps, but no one deliberatly killed anyone and I've never suggested that. But are you seriously saying that there is no responsibility on a section of the Liverpool fans there that day for what happened? Yes the police fucked up, yes they should've had the larger terrace that the Forest fans were in, but had everyone turned up at a proper time, and if some hadn't been drunk then it all could've been avoided. If you really belive that it had nothing to do with some of the Liverpool fans there then you're the one who's clueless. Anyway. It's a joke they're not allowing Liverpool in next year. See, not only was the old European Cup style more exciting it was way simpler too And as for replacing penalties how about... ooh, I don't know. Maybe the teams could play each other again? Say a week later perhaps. We could call it, oh I don't know... a 'replay'?

To clarify my position on Hillsborough. The whole thing with the Sun saying is fucking disgracefull and there's no evidence of that. There is evidence though of Liverpool fans running up and taunting the Forest fans, as I've talked to plenty of people I know who were there and they'll all said that happened. AND clearly the police fucked up completely and should 99% of the blame. So when were finishing 3rd and winning League Cups etc we weren't allowed in the UEFA Cup because of what Liverpool fans did.

What exactly have I said that's wrong? You're saying no one was drunk at Heysel or Hillsborough? If you are I can only presume you've never been to a football match.

But Trips doesn't need to make money; the McMahon's do have some spare cash floating around somewhere you know...
-
Un-fucking-believable. Just for the record though the standing is now; Liverpool - 5 Nottingham Forest - 2 Manchester Utd - 2 Aston Villa - 1 I can live with that.

Mine tomorrow, promise. just need to listen to Tits.

We only have the guns because we're hoping to be accepted as a State by the US

God no, but they're the facts. Liverpool fans get pissed and kill a bunch of Italians - Forest punished. Liverpool fans get pissed and kill a bunch of innocent Liverpool fans - Forest punished. Innocentally, the fact that a sizeable number of Liverpool fans ran to the Forest end at Hillsborough and started chanting, swearing and giving the old two fingers to them while there fellow fans were dying doesn't get mentioned too often does it? Wankers.

Civ games rule. Although for some reason my monitor couldn't cope with Civ 3 and just gave me a scary ultra blurred screen and was thus totally unplayable unless I stole my brothers laptop

Ahem, you seem to be forgetting the other city. And before you bring it up, gun crime is a totally victimless crime! Or at least no victims who can complain about it...

Any thoughts on the CL final tonight? I sort of want Liverpool to win because they're English and I think Benitez is a good manager etc. But my natural hatred of the fucking scouse wankers for getting MY club banned from Europe in 1985 when we were finishing 3rd every year and for stopping MY club from having a chance to win the FA Cup in 1989 because the pissed up cunts spent too long in the pub before going to the ground means I wouldn't really mind Milan thrashing them. EDIT: Heysel and Hillsborough - both Liverpool fans. Coincidence? Bullshit.

They must having a deal lined up with someone if they've let the FSN deal lapse... I know Panda doesn't seem to mind losing money hand over foot, without any tv apart from Xplosion that might be too much even for them to deal with. -
I mark them differently. Like the topic is numbers, so for 3/3 the song needs to be about numbers. If someone had entered You're The One That I Want from Grease, say, then just as that has a number in the title and lyrics, it's not about numbers, so I'd give it 1/3 as it is number related, but not specifically about numbers. If that makes any sense.

Without meaning to be cruel CC, listening to your selection was possibly the worst hour my eyes have had in a long long time I'll have my marks up tomorrow, that is if I can cope after having my rock star moptop locks cut off
