    Lyrics that came true

Okay that was "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out." Some coincidences are notable ("in a darkened underpass" where the crash happened, "to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die" referring to Dodi, "it's not my home it's their home and I'm welcome no more" referring to the royal family) but it's no huge thing Ah yes, the "Diana-Morrissey Phenomenon~!" is here. Some of it nearly makes sense, but frankly that guy has *far* too much time on his hands.

Markish impressions you had as a youth

As a very young mark, I sort of believed that the matches were competitive, and the storylines were changed according to who won the matches. I guess that was my way of trying to keep myself thinking it was real, even though I could see that there were storylines.

When did you start to hate Hogan?

Thing with Hogan's comebacks is that Vince and whoever else mistakes live pops for TV drawing power. If Hogan was wrestling in my city I'd go see him as I've never seen him live and it's Hogan, which annoyingly is enough to see him live thanks to 15 year old memories. If he was on TV though I wouldn't make any effort to watch him. Pops do not equal ratings.

    NOAH formation question

Thanks a lot for everyone for the tales of Misawa/Kawada heat. I'm trying to get more into Puro, but I'm not where near the relative expert I want to be. ::

    NOAH formation question

I'm just wondering if there's a reason Kawada didn't follow Misawa, Kobashi etc when NOAH was formed but stayed in All Japan? That's it I'm afraid, not much of a deep searching question with a mini essay or anything... but at least I'm trying

    English Football

442 gave it a great review, but I'm never quite sure how reliable their game reviews are. I think they gave Pro Evo 4 only 4/5 so i'm not utterly convinced. I won't get it anyway, due to my Premier League/Champions League bitterness.

    Wrestling Gold: Box Set Collection

I've got the Box Set. Some of the matches are pretty good in and of themselves, as well as being interesting from a retro/historical viewpoint. But I'd say it's worth getting just for the Cornette/Meltzer commentry which is excellent, very informing and entertaining.

Yeah, I know... but it's a work, y'know? Plus the booker/champion is an egomaniac.

    Toshiaki Kawada leaves AJPW

Quotes from http://www.ajpw.puroresufan.com/ Erm, is this a work or shoot or what? Anyone know what's going on?

The Wrestling Channel: International Showdown 19/3

Gah, crossed wires there. When you said Williams, I instantly thought of Doug and thought you were carrying on the James Tighe talk. I wouldn't say Spud is one of the best talents in the FWA, I wouldn't overly call him a pure FWA worker to begin with. Like I said, I can't remember here or somewhere else, Spud is the only guy that really seems out of place on the whole card in my eyes, but the experience can only be a good thing for him in the long run. And Hade Vansen stinking up the joint? Surely not! I presume the thinking is that he can fly around a bit and, mainly, just being in the ring with those guys could raise his drawing power slightly, from 'that kid spud' to 'that kid who was in the great 4 way match with those US guys'.

    English Football

CSKA Sofia knocked us out in Round One, lost 1-0 home and away... Plus we lost to Valencia in the Super Cup and also to Nacional Montevideo in the World Club Championship thing. And we sold Francis and replaced him with Ian Wallace which didn't really work. And our big foreign signing Raimondo Ponte was, despite being, "a better diver than Jack Lester" (according to my dad), couldn't cope with the physical style of play in England when he actually did get fouled. One the plus side we did have Einar Aas playing for us, possibly the best named Forest player, other than Flip le Flem of course. EDIT: Just looking at some other league tables and when we won the league in '78, Leicester finished bottom, and when we finished 5th and won the second European Cup in 1980 Derby finshed 21st and went down. Great days EDIT 2: So that's Newcastle, Fulham, England and City he's walked out on... and he has the bloody cheek to have a go at player for not being loyal. Good ridance, crap cheque book manager anyway who won fuck all.

    NOAH formation question

I thought it would just be something like that, but wanted to check there was some legit ill feeling with Misawa or something like that I hadn't heard of. By the way, who's the wrestler 2nd to the right in your sig? I know I know him, but for the life of me I can't think who he is!

The Wrestling Channel: International Showdown 19/3

Thing with the FWA is, and this is purely me being bitter and hateful just for the sake of it, is that they said that the tiny tiny promotion i mentioned before were FORBIDDEN from calling their top title a 'world title' and the ONLY 'world title' is the FWA world title. OR ELSE. Petty, petty bastards.

Spud's alright. I've met him five or six times helping out at shows in the east midlands and he's a good bloke and even though he's no Misawa or whatever he's more than capable of putting on very entertaining spot fests.

So I'm the only one who found it pretty dissapointing? The whole Dolphin thing was good and their were some great lines, but I just didn't... erm, I dunno. Not as funny as it could've been I thought. Hopefully better next week.

    Austin/Owen Friction

Depends how you want to look at it. It's either evil Vince having Austin go out at the end as he was the top guy etc, or Steve feeling genuine sadness at the loss of a co-worker. Considering he didn't go to the funeral my leaning is more on the first.
