My first response here actually was that the new guy should just quit being a bitch, watch the tape, and carry the damn beer. If Bradshaw was still a JTTM (jobber to the midcard), it might be different. But if the World Champion's trying to send you a message, I think you should probably just go with it.

Here's the card right here, if you were wondering: World Heavyweight Title: Batista © vs. Brock Lesnar WWE Title: Kurt Angle © vs. Triple H Steve Austin vs. John Cena Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit Undertaker vs. Edge Intercontinental Title: Shelton Benjamin © vs. Rey Mysterio United States Championship: Eddie Guerrero © vs. Chris Jericho vs. Orlando Jordan vs. Chavo Guerrero Smackdown Tag Titles: Dudley Boyz © vs. America's Most Wanted Christian vs. William Regal

Flair made Triple H look like a transitional champ. You know with all that "karma" built up, I'm surprised that Flair didn't get in another plane crash.
-
HHH is a little stale, but if he just turned on Flair, he'd interest me enough to make me want to watch his segments more than anyone else's on the show. He's still more talented and charismatic than 90% of the roster.
-
Well, I for one, am glad to see Triple H is all right. Not only would I never wish injury on anyone, I really think the show needs him and woud have suffered tremendously if he was out with a lengthy injury. Without Orton or HHH on the show, it's basically just Monday Night Smackdown, aka Midcarders Gone Wild.

Good god. Where the hell was the NSFD heading on that? I was eating dinner when I saw her face and I almost threw up.

I'd decompose in the ground while people made up stories about me. Ooooooh, you mean the mythical powers.
-
Shit, why couldn't I have read that post earlier? I checked the score on the internet a couple times, but I didn't even bother to check for it on TV, because I just assumed they wouldn't show it.
-
Wow, this is actually real? I saw the other thread was closed, and I thought it was some stupid joke. Well, I guess all you assholes hoping for an injury for your wish, but I really hope that Trips is at least good to go by Backlash.
-
All right, how about we cool it with the death threats. He's really not that bad. The problem with HHH reforming Evolution is that it's the exact same thing that just ended. If HHH is stale, it's stupid to just buy three months away from him and then repeat the whole thing. It's a lot better idea to do something to make him interesting again. At the very least, if he's chasing the title without his stable, he can say he's doing something different than he was for his last five World Title wins. Ideally, I'd have Batista trade the title back and forth with Orton after Summerslam before losing it for good to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania.

Some interesting Survivor Series 1997 stuff

So, wait a minute. You admit that Shawn's 5-12-1 on PPV since coming back (not counting either Rumble match), and is actually 3-12-1 after his initial nostalgia matches, and you're still complaining that he's not jobbing enough? Sure, he may win get a win back on Raw occasionally, but that's just the way the WWE operates nowadays. When he got his big clean win over Jericho, Jericho ended up "getting his job back" on Raw too. And as to the rematch, not being clean, the fact is that faces don't lose clean all that much in the WWE anymore. He did lose completely clean to HHH, Benoit, and Angle in the last year, which is plenty for that span. Also, a lot of people here need to learn that the point of the shows is to entertain the fans. It's not to MAKE EVERYONE UNDER 35 LOOK LIKE GOD BECAUSE THEY'RE THE FUTURE BY GOD, AND THESE WASHED UP 35 YEAR OLDS NEED TO JOB CLEAN AND THEN GET RAPED, AND THEN GET KILLED AND THEN GET THEIR CORPSES RAPED TOO. The one major match that had some chance for elevation was the Orton match, and in the context of the gimmick, he really put him over just fine. When you're talking about some like Kane, he's such damaged goods that he actually has less of a future than Shawn does, and there's really no reason for him to go over whatsoever. -
Honestly, of all the divas they released, the one I'd most like to see back is Jazz. She was a tremendous heel, and could actually make the division mean something without being eye candy. The feud she had with Trish was probably the peak of women's wrestling in North America.
-
That's because they invest more time in him as a heel than anyone. They've invested SIX FUCKING YEARS into him as a heel and they CONTINUE TO DO IT. Time to put that effort into someone else, and they can't do that with HHH still on TV. Of course they can. It's called putting him in the upper midcard for the next nine months. If you had HHH feuding with the guys that aren't absolutely to the top yet, and maybe putting one of them over, it would help out the Raw brand a lot. Say they spent a few months rebuilding Jericho, and then HHH put him over at Survivor Series, it would be huge as far as moving him up, and making him draw better as a challenger without actually giving him the title. Likewise, if we did have Orton or Edge main eventing multiple PPVs as a heel, it would make them seem more like real top guys if HHH was there wrestling on the undercard, than it would if they "only had the spot because HHH was injured". Finally, there aren't that many top heels on Raw. Hassan's slowly getting elevated, and Orton will get back from injury eventually, but for now, Edge and HHH are the only truly credible heels on Raw. They're needed both to fill out the card for the brand-exclusive PPVs, and to make sure that the upper level faces don't lose overness by getting left off the card. The reason HHH is so over is the same reason that Angle and Undertaker are so over. People remember them being top guys back when the WWE was at its peak. They just have a natural crediblity from it. There's nothing wrong with HHH right now that nine months away from the title and a couple of character tweaks couldn't save.
-
If Booker's a "main eventer", then why wasn't his match televised at Wrestemania? Being a part of this six-man thing on Smackdown proves you're an upper midcarder, no more. Basically, on Raw, HHH, HBK, and Batista are all main eventers, Benoit's borderline, and Edge is taking over the spot vacated by Randy Orton's injury. On Smackdown, it's JBL, Cena, Angle, and Undertaker with Big Show right on the borderline. There's really no difference in terms of elevation, as JBL's reign of terror on Smackdown pushed everyone down just as much as HHH's reign did on Raw.
-
So does anyone have any ideas for what they should really do with Trips? I mean, he's the most over heel on either brand, so it would be stupid to just take him off TV altogether. What I'm looking for here is more what you'd do as a real booker, rather than a vengeful internet fan. If you're saying he's gotten a little stale, I agree, and that's why I like the Flair idea. By taking HHH away from his support system, and keeping him away from the title, it would help him get away from the same promos we've been hearing for the last couple years. If anything, I think HHH needs to get back in touch with his irrational, aggressive side, as the cool, cocky, champion is what we're most sick of. Finally, the last thing HHH needs is a manager right now. When Evolution was going strong, it made sense for Flair to be there as the "past" and help Orton and Batista get over while justifying his own existence. However, now that Evolution's basically dissolved, Flair should go to someone new, and let HHH be paranoid all by himself.

Yeah, if the O's somehow went 70-92 or something, Mazzilli would get the boot, but the way things are looking, the Orioles should end up over .500 this year. That would be more enough to keep things sailing smoothly.

Some interesting Survivor Series 1997 stuff

I thought it was clean, but it was so long ago that I can't really remember. If there was interference, it was during the middle portion of the match, not directly leading to the finish. -
I don't get firing Victoria at all. She's actually attractive enough for their stupid calendars and shit, she can work well in the ring, and she's capab;e of doing good mic work too. She's three times as useful as Molly was.
-
Am I the only one who thought that if anything, HHH sold too much last night. I mean if he's on a rampage that's going to make him able to beat Batista, he shouldn't be getting beat down for ten minutes by two guys who can barely make it on Raw. Compare how quickly Austin beat down Dean and Maven to what HHH did with Hurricane and Rosey to see how the WWE always makes the heels sell way more than they should.
-
Gee, this is exciting. Every day, we get to guess who the new casualty will be that's no longer on a WWE roster. It's like jobber Russian Roulette! As for Molly, I'm just glad she put over some younger talent on the way out.
-
It was because of the shoulder though, and they're already building a feud between the two of them. All Orton needs to do is ambush Batista out of the crowd, and bash the fuck out of him with a foreign object about 57 times. I think the feud will have huge heat actually. Obviously, it wouldn't work to have them wrestle again tomorrow, but a few months from now? It would work great. Edge is also a very solid contender and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him get a short title reign.
-
If Mark Henry's still with the company at this time next year, I'll be shocked.
-
They didn't focus on HHH, and they built up his contenders fine, but considering he just came off the biggest win of their career, I think they really needed to give Batista some mic time last night. If he could have just talked quick about how great it was to finally beat HHH and win the title, and maybe gotten off a couple quick one-liners, it would have reminded the fans to feel good about being in the Batista era. Instead, he just had a pointless match with Orton, and the focus was on Edge, Austin, Orton, HHH; everyone but the new champ. The majority of WWE fans don't watch PPVs, so it only seems fair that they get a little bit of payoff, by at least seeing the new champ rub it in a little bit about their victory. The way they booked Batista last night, he looked like an afterthought, and if they keep that up, his reign will fail just like Benoit's in no time.
-
Actually, I'm almost certain they did that to set up Batista kicking out of the Pedigree at Backlash to try to make it more of an accomplishment when he does finally kick out of the Pedigree. Personally, I didn't like the promo because I thought it telegraphed the finish of their next PPV main event, but if you didn't figure that out from what HHH said, then the marks almost certainly didn't, so in the context of the WWE's primary fanbase, it was probably a good move after all. Still though, I'm pretty sure they could have found something more substantial to buiild the rematch on than "HHH didn't think to use the Pedigree". I mean, he's used it for 99% of the clean victories he's gotten in the last five years. If anything, I think HHH should have tried to soften Batista up with sledgehammers, etc., thinking that he'd only be able to put down the animal if he wasn't at full strength to begin with.
