Ditto on Louisville. They have less "key" and "marquee" wins than any Top 20 team except Pacific and Utah. I was saying who deserved the #1 seeds, and even with the loss in the Big East tourney, a four loss BC team would deserve it more than Louisville. If you note below, I said that as far as who would actually get them, it was the Wake/Duke winner and Kentucky, or maybe a Big 12 team if Kentucky loses. Remember, all a Big 12 team has to do is make it to their title game to be considered because the committee won't know who wins it anyway.

Couldn't find a pic with Arizona, so here's the rookie card of Juiced Up's new third baseman, Troy Glaus. I have to say that the images are super-fun, and their absence will be the one major downside for the AIM draft.

Go ahead. I've got a real pool I'm doing for money, but if you set one up, I'll be glad to share my wealth of college basketball knowledge with the members of the board. Anyway, back to real discussion: If we're looking at who deserves the 1 seeds, I'd say Illinois and Carolina are locks, and the other 2 spots should go like this: 1. Duke/Wake Forest winner 2. Kansas if they win the Big 12 tourney w/o Langford 3. Kentucky if they win the SEC tourney 4. Wake, if they lose to Duke 5. Oklahoma St. if they win the Big 12 tourney 6. UConn if they win the Big East tourney 7. Duke, if they lose to Wake 8. If Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, OSU, and UConn all lose, then Boston College should get the last one seed. Of course, in reality, the result of the Big 12 title game won't even be factored in, so Wake and Kentucky are virtual locks. The only way it changes right now is if Kentucky loses fairly early in the SEC tournament. Oh, and on Notre Dame as a bubble team, I say out. 4-6 in their last ten games and 4-7 as a road + neutral record means they shouldn't make it. Of course, I haven't filled out the whole at-large field, so I can't say for sure that there are 34 better teams, but it's just my inclination that they don't deserve the spot.

I suggested the idea, so I'm guessing I'm part of the 11, but just in case, I'd like to say that I'm definitely in favor of the Sunday draft idea. The time mentioned sounds like it would be good too.

No, I wasn't saying they got ignored because their undercards were bad; I was saying that (at least in the IWC), they got overshadowed by them. A lot of people considered the Tag Title match from No Mercy to be the WWE MOTY, and whenever you hear talk about Vengeance, it's usually the Kidman/Mysterio vs. TWGTT or Benoit/Guerrero in the finals of the tournament for the US Title. However, the HIAC match from No Mercy was an emotional conclusion to one of the best feuds the WWE's had in the last two years that told a great story, and it really doesn't seem to get it's due. And as far as Triple Threat matches go, I'd say the Vengeance Triple Threat was actually better than the main event from WM XX. They got away from the typical formula, and actually worked at a high pace the entire match, instead of just laying back and then saving some nearfalls toward the finish.

Pick a Sunday night, announce a live draft for the remainder of the players, and then if people miss it, just give them the best player available by Yahoo ranking. People will still feel a connection to the team since they've already drafted the top players, and we can move along with thte league. Boom. Problem solved.

How, credible can the title be when it's held by some short pudgy bald guy with zero muscle mass? Honestly, that guy looks about as athletic as Paul Heyman.

Hell yeah, bitches. It's kind of funny that a school like Montana just has to win a few games in the conference tournament to make it to the NCAAs, but WSU has pretty much no shot at all until they finish turning the program around.

From the article you linked: Obviously, the RPI's not the final determining factor, but conferences like the MVC build each other up with all these mediocre wins, and staying away from the real cupcakes. They'll look at a team like Creighton, and give them way too much credit for their games against N. Iowa, Wichita State, S. Illinois, etc. My main point wasn't that the selection committee does a bad job, or that they depend overly on the RPI; just that certain mid-major conferences have gotten really overrated this year, and it's due in large part to that influence.
-
Don't cry for the mid-majors. They've been getting so much love lately that it's ridiculous. Compare the resumes of Creighton, Indiana, and NC State, and then tell me which one should be a "virtual lock" for the tournament. Indiana's got a better conference record in the Big Ten than Creighton does in the MVC and has played seven games that are tougher than any on Creighton's schedule. NC State got beaten up a little bit by the Dukes and Carolina's of the world, but swept Maryland and Ga. Tech, and would be 17-7 if you take away their losses to Top 5 teams. (Creighton, by comparison played no Top 25 teams, let alone Top 5, yet still managed to lose 10) The RPI brainwashes people by punishing teams far too much for taking a cupcake every now and then before undertaking a brutal schedule, and then giving them no breaks when they face the absolute elite of the country. It seems all you have to do to get a good RPI is constantly play teams ranked 50-200, and not take too many losses. Creighton has as good of a chance at playing .500 ball in the ACC as pigs do of flying out of my ass, yet their RPI means they'll be treated like they did by the selection committee. Edit: I guess Creighton actually won their conference to earn the berth, but Joe Lunardi has had them with a 9 or 10 seed for a while now.

Well, somebody finally took the guy I wanted right before my pick came up. That means I'm going to have to get a little risky here and take: Jose Reyes

Hey that reminds me. Who did HHH beat for the IC Title when he was World Champ in 2002? I know RVD was IC Champ when he faced him, and I was thinking that he lost the IC Title to him for a while, but now I seem to remember Kane winning the shot at the World Title by winning the IC belt. Does anyone remember exactly what the progression of the IC title was at that point?

No, they actually wouldn't be liable if Matt decided to shoot on Matt. Their job is to wrestle, and they work for the same company, so if Matt happened to assault Edge outside the agreed upon nature of the match, it would certainly not be their legal responsibility. Now granted, it would certainly promote a lot of resentment to force one of their workers to work with the guy who just fucked his girlfriend, and it might end up hurting the actual product they put out, but they wouldn't be in any more serious legal danger from asking them to work together than they would from asking Hardcore Holly to wrestle Rey Mysterio.

Hey, my rankings are completely impartial, and based solely on the teams' performance. And they're a lot more accurate than the AP and Coaches poll. I mean, they have Louisville ranked above Boston College for god's sakes. And they have Arizona ranked above Kansas. There's just no logic for that whatsoever. They basically just look at the team's records, see if they have name value, and then look at how long it's been since they lost to decide the rest. It's like they don't pay any attention at all to who teams have beaten or what they've accomplished. As for Georgia Tech in the Final Four, I said I think they have the potential to get there if they get a weak bracket, and are probably the best sleeper in the tournament. That's just a fact. They were 9-1 and up 16 on Kansas when BJ Elder got hurt, and they made it to the national championship with nine losses last year. For the record, last year I got three of my four Final Four teams right, and was one less foul on Shelden Williams away from winning a pool with 25 people in it.

Well, in kayfabe terms, Kane is Lita's husband. He should be pissed at Edge too.

A few years ago, say right after HHH "divorced" her or before she got the boobs enlarged, Steph would have sold way better. She had the untouchable factor, the unique factor, etc. etc. However, now she's been gone so long that I don't think the interest is all that strong anymore. Plus, the boobs cut her physical attractiveness by at least half and she's really just not that hot of a commodity before. I used to think that Steph was far and away the hottest chick in the WWE, but even I wouldn't care that much anymore. I'd say that Trish would definitely outsell her now.

Why should Duke be punished for splitting razor-thin decisions with the number 2 team in the country? They actually looked better than Wake the two times they played them, and they have non-conference wins over Michigan State and Oklahoma. They're playing in the toughest conference in America, and the only major conference teams with better records than them are Kentucky and Louisville. Kentucky's playing in a very mediocre SEC, and their only good wins all year are Alabama and Louisville. Louisville, meanwhile has no decent non-conference wins at all, and is playing in a C-USA which might as well be reclassified as a mid-major. Cincinnatti and Charlotte are the only other decent teams, and they haven't really done muich either. And the idea that Louisville and Arizona should be ahead of UConn is laughable. If they had to play Oklahoma, North Carolina, Boston College, Syracuse (twice), Pittsburgh (twice), and Villanova, they'd have at least that many losses as them. The only games Arizona has played that tough are against UW and Wake, while the only games Louisville have played that tough are Kentucky, and maybe at Cincy. As for Utah, their biggest win this season is probably at Air Force, so they'll take their number 22 ranking and like it. Not only does Alabama have better wins, but they don't have that 30 point millstone of a loss to Utah State hanging around their necks either.

I think what they're saying is that since there is no legal slavery under the law, certificates of freedom would be worthless. Basically, if they see anyone trying to use anyone as a slave, then by rights they should be slapped with a prison term immediately.

Geez, am I the only one here that always goes through the drive-thru? The only time I ever go in is when I'm with someone, and I don't want to have to deal with exchanging the money. It's just more convenient to eat in my car while I'm driving or back home where I'm comfortable than in some dirty fast food place.

Not if the batter hits it far enough they don't. And besides if there's no one on base, and it's not the third strike, it really doesn't matter if the pitch gets caught or not.

Duke's tight. Quit hating on them. They're better than Wake and Carolina if they get a little rest. And for all the talk about Duke getting "verbal blowjobs" all the time, no one in the country gets pimped like Carolina. I actually hope that Carolina's ranked number 1 in the polls tomorrow just so we don't get Digger Phelps giving a 2 hour diatribe about how the coaches must have never seen a basketball game if they think Illinois is better than UNC.

Ok, you all know where the teams are seeded for the conference tournaments, but now it's time to find out where they're ranked in Iggy's weekly Top 25: 1. Illinois 29-1 2. North Carolina 26-3 3. Wake Forest 26-4 4. Duke 22-5 5. Boston College 24-3 6. Kentucky 23-4 7. Kansas 22-5 8. Connecticut 21-6 9. Oklahoma 23-6 10. Oklahoma State 21-6 11. Villanova 21-6 12. Washington 24-5 13. Louisville 26-4 14. Pittsburgh 20-7 15. Michigan State 22-5 16. Gonzaga 24-4 17. Syracuse 24-6 18. Arizona 25-5 19. Pacific 25-2 20. Wisconsin 20-7 21. Alabama 23-6 22. Utah 25-4 23. Florida 20-7 24. Texas 20-9 25. Cincinnatti 24-6

Yeah, I was actually surprised to see Furcal slip that far too, as I was kind of thinking that maybe I should have taken him last round instead of Guillen. Luckily, the guy I've had on my mind for the entire last round slipped down to me too. That will be Trevor Hoffman thank you very much.

Actually, at its peak, I have to agree with hockey. As long as it's at least possible to get a few goals a game, there's nothing in sport like the Stanley Cup playoffs. And in person, the NFL's kind of like watching paint dry. College football's awesome, but at an NFL game, it seems like half the time you're staring at an empty field because of the commercials, and another third of the time, they're just sitting there, not doing anything anyway. Due to the organization of the leagues, I like college basketball and college football a little better than other sports, but as far as the actual athletic product taking place, nothing beats the NHL.

Benoit and Edge lost the tag titles cleanly to La Resistance, but you wouldn't say for example that Edge lost cleanly to Grenier. (I don't remember who exactly got the pinfall, but you get the point.) If HHH loses clean in a tag match to Booker T leading up to Wrestlemania, people don't consider that a clean win that elevates Booker. The point is that in the WWE, singles matches are what are significant for singles wrestlers. As such, Brock Lesnar ended up getting all the rub that Rocky had to give from going over three years without losing cleanly in a singles match. And my real point on the distraction was that if Brock Lesnar was the one distracting him when he lost the tag match to Benoit, then Brock Lesnar won't lose any of the rub Rock was giving off because Benoit stole his thunder or some damn thing. Oh, and to whoever brought up the Hogan match, it never counts as clean when you lose in a frigging handicap match. (Well uness you're on the side with more people of course.)
