Hey, don't forget the mozzarella sticks. Those are awesome-o. I think they're better then what you get out of 90% of restaurants. The mozzarella sticks are pretty much the whole reason I go there.

Where do you see the world 100, 500, 1000 years from now?

1 second after I die, the world ceases to be significant, if it doesn't cease to exist altogether. So unless I live to be 120, fuck it. -
Jack Bauer. Oh, he's a real person. And if you don't believe it, he'll gouge your eye out and shoot you in the kneecaps.

I actually really like my team this year. Bill Hall at 2B is the only real weakness in my lineup, and I'm going to rock ERA, WHIP, and Holds for pitching. Last year, I came in as a replacement team and I couldn't draft anyone good, so I ended up with a really shitty team, but I think things will be different this year. I like my squad a lot. For reference: C: Jason Varitek 1B: Albert Pujols 2B: Bill Hall SS: Derek Jeter 3B: Shea Hillenbrand OF: Coco Crisp OF: JD Drew OF: Brady Clark Util: Craig Monroe And I've got Lowell and Lawton on my bench in case they rebound and have good years. I mean honestly, show me a weakness in that lineup. I guess there's not a ton of speed, but I think I should be able to get at least 3 or 4 categories each week.

This isn't a flashback to his actual life. When he talks to his wife on the phone (not sure if it's actually Carmella), his daughter says she "made volleyball". Now it's established that he was supposed to be jacking a truck with Tony B when Meadow was about 2 or 3, so he's obviously been in the family a while. I'm pretty sure that this is either a "how his life could have turned out" thing, or else he's supposed to be in some kind of limbo state between life and death.

Well, now my bracket's officially fucked. I could have survived losing Indiana (an Elite 8 team), but losing Pitt (Final Four) is a little much. I have to say the refs did job Pitt all day, starting with that bullshit technical on Gray. I really think the Panthers could have won with better officiating.
-
Indiana just needs to....... play better. Seriously, they look bad on offense, they look bad on defense, they're turning the ball over, and they're fouling. About the only thing they're doing right is rebounding. If it wasn't for that, they'd be down 20 by now.

What a terrible fucking play. Are you telling me that they couldn't have gotten something better than Dee Brown dribbling from the backcourt if they'd just run it on the fly?
-
I hate the Illini calling the timeout there after wasting that much time off the clock. Now, the Huskies will be able to foul them with something like 3.5 seconds on the clock and then they'll be screwed. If they're going to call the timeout to setup the play, they need to do it faster.

Montana's looking pretty good against Boston College. They've contained Smith really well as it took him about 20 shots to get his 14 points. The only thing they're doing wrong is going up a little too weak on the offensive end as they're getting a lot of shots blocked. Still though, Strait's scoring well on the inside, and the rest of the team's scoring well from the perimeter, so they have a great to shot to pull the upset.

Glad to see Wichita State pull it out. That was the only real upset I picked for the second round.

I was actually trying to be a little obnoxious. The post was made half-jokingly.

Georgia Tech's still my team, but their not in the tourney this year, and I really like watching Duke play. They've always been a guilty pleasure of mine, as they were the first team I got into as a little kid, and they're my pick to win it all this year, so I want to support them. Actually, my favorite team that's still alive right now is Montana since I'm back home in Missoula right now, and everybody's hyped about the Grizzlies. If they beat BC today, it will be the biggest win in school history.
-
I'm pretty sure it's because Duke's awesome and everyone wants to see them play. They're such a polarizing, hate them or love them kind of team that everybody usually has a rooting interest. The other side of the coin is that they always destroy everyone in the second round, but what can you do. I guess that what happens when you're the premiere basketball program in the country.

Umm no. Pretty sure Texas won last night. And really, once they got healthy, Bradley was probably the 2nd best MVC squad, so it's a pretty even matchup as far as conference postion. I actually had Bradley over Kansas to begin with, and then I decided that I was fishing for upsets too much and changed it. I ended up doing pretty shitty in the first round (22 for 32), but I've still got most of my 2nd round picks, and all of my 3rd round picks, so I won't sweat it too much. Especially considering that I'll slay all the UConn sheep when Duke kicks their ass in Indianapolis.

The Harvard women's game was different. Harvard was undefeated, but they just got a bullshit seed. This would be a legitimate 16 seed knocking off a 1. Oh, and on a sidenote, my ridiculous CBS affiliate is persisting in showing NC State/Cal, and my shitty internet connection makes this on-demand stuff look terrible. It's really pissing me off.

This would have to be the biggest upset in sports history right? Just as far as sheer shock and surprise goes.

I think GW/Duke will be a good close game, but I can't see Duke losing it. I'd say something like 77-72 Devils. Wilmington shot the lights out to take it to OT, but I still think that the Colonials perimeter D looked vulnerable. If UNCW can make that many threes, I'd think that Redick, Melchion Still though, I think it's fair to say that GW got jobbed getting an 8 seed. They're the best mid-major in the country in front of higher-seeded Gonzaga and Nevada teams, and if they'd gotten a reasonable bracket, I think they could have made the Elite Eight.

I haven't been doing very well gambling so far. If Michigan State doesn't cover tonight, I'll have depleted the entire $320 that I set aside for the tournament. I could always deposit more, but I don't want to go too far overboard with this.
-
I had a 1-3 morning too. Pretty ugly. Really though, the early rounds are all about keeping your Elite 8 type teams intact. I had Syracuse and Iowa winning one more game each, but I haven't lost any Elite 8 teams yet, so I think I'm still in decent shape.

<------ Put $100 on Wisconsin after designating them his "lock of the day" ATS. <------ Feels like kind of a jackass right now.
-
OK, I've decided that I'm basically in the lead in this pool. Everyone ahead of me has Texas beating Duke which won't possibly happen, basically defaulting 8 points to me. I didn't check through the 800 people tied at 13, but I figure I'm no worse than tied for first right now.
-
Gonzaga's just playing stupid. They must have got called for over the back about 12 times now.
-
I think it actually helped Gonzaga a lot when they still had Pepperdine in their league. The Waves were a legitimate tourney time year-in, year-out, and the competition made Gonzaga tougher. Now, the Zags go three months without playing anyone and then they wonder why they can't win in March.
-
Fuck Gonzaga. Musketeers are up 9. And who called it? I called it. Because I'm a GODDAMN GENIUS!
