No, I'd agree in that sense. I mean if Duke doesn't win the ACC regular season title, then of course they're not the best team of the last decade. Not even close. However, if they go 16-0 or 15-1, win their conference tourney, and then win the national title, (which I think they will on all counts), then they deserve to be put ahead of the 1996 UK team, regardless of how many points they beat VT by in December. That's all I was saying.

Just saw the first two episodes. (I'm on the West Coast.) All I have to say is wow. 24's so much better than any other show on television that it's not even close. More happened in the first half of the premiere of 24 then happened in the last 2 1/2 months on Lost. God, I love 24.

Is Carlito a better wrestler then we think?
iggymcfly replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in The WWE Folder
Smarks like HBK now? That's news to me. -
Fuck that, Batista should NEVER get the belt back at this point nore should Angle or Benoit ever have to job to that injury prone jackass let alone run a program with him. I don't care how big Batista's fanbase is-which has actually diminished greatly since Mania-, he was a waste of a push and a terrible champion. Fire his ass for all I care. Angle/Batista will be the best program they could run over the summer. Having a credible world champion take on someone who held the belt for nine months before and never lost the title should draw huge money. Now with that being said, there's no reason they have to give Batista the title back. They could run a first PPV match where Angle retains due to his "championship advantage" in a DQ loss, even though Batista feels like he should still be champion, and then in the gimmick match blowoff, just let Angle win clean. Determining who should main event a big program and determining who should be champ are two totally different issues. By the time Angle gets done with Batista, who knows what may be open. Lesnar could come back or Lashley could get over huge as a face or Jericho could come back or Cena could come back from Raw. The point is that they'll have at least one big program to run coming out of Mania.

Death Valley Driver
iggymcfly commented on a blog entry in I post on TSM and all I got was this lousy blog.
Obviously this is old as shit, but I just got bored enough to actually read your little "blog" tonight. Anyway, how did I make the top of your list of bad posters who enjoy shitty storylines? I actually quit watching the WWE shortly after your initial post because their storylines have gotten so bad. I guess I'm a "mark" in the sense that I enjoy good storylines as much as good wrestling, but I certainly don't want to be grouped in with people who enjoy crap like that Eddie/Rey feud, or who are trying to say that the WWE is still good and that we should give them a break. -
OK, I'm really really bored, and I'm reading your blog now. So, umm....... continue it. In case I'm really bored and want to read it again some time. I'd compliment it to be nice, but there's not really much written there.

You're joking right?

2005 WWE Television Win-Loss Record & Standings
iggymcfly replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
If you really are looking at the most pushed wrestler of the year, I think "wins minus losses" would be more accurate. That leaves us with the predictable: 1. Cena 2. Batista 3. Heidenreich? -
1000 Reasons why Late Night with Conan O'Brien
iggymcfly replied to The Mandarin's topic in Television & Film
230. Conan O'Brien didn't lose the funniest character on his whole show. The Andy Richter show bombed, but the Colbert Report is better than the Daily Show, hands-down. -
I liked this one.

In the Duke game, Texas was getting thoroughly demolished by the best team in the land while JJ had a hot shooting night. Against Tennessee, they were crying about how they couldn't believe that Duke beat them by 30. And one more time cabbageboy, your argument was that conference games >>>> non-conference games. Well, I'm just saying that conference championship game >>>>>>>> December conference opener against a bad team.
-
To be fair, I don't think anyone could have predicted that the Pats would lose four fumbles or that the referee would make a horrible pass interference call to give Denver a touchdown. New England actually moved the ball a lot better than Denver over the course of the game, and I think that if they played ten games against Denver with the team they have now, they'd win seven. It's just that on this day, every break went Denver's way and they managed to come up with a 14 point victory.
-
Actually, I know what you mean. Usually when Viniateri lines up, I just assume it's going through, but this time I got this little twinge like he just might miss this one. I think this is a sign that the Pats are done.

They're already in the Top 20 in Iggy's rankings (18) and the coaches poll (17). The AP poll's the only where they're not, and they're ranked 21 there. I'd say it's pretty much a given that they move up one spot, especially with Carolina and BC losing this week.
-
God damn it. This is going to shit in a hurry.
-
Terrible call there just giving Denver a TD. I mean if running next to the receiver and grazing against him while you look for the ball isn't allowed, why even have a defense out there? Why not just let the QBs and receivers play catch 6 on 0?
-
Dirty hippies don't win playoff games. Plummer and the Broncos are going down.
-
Actually, I'm not so sure they get by Carolina next week. The Panthers have the playoff experience, and if Alexander has any lingering effects from the concussion, they'll have no problem shutting him down.
-
Wait for the rematch in Blacksburg. If Duke doesn't win that one by at least 15 or 20, then maybe you have a point. Virginia Tech can't touch Duke when they're focused. Texas is looking like a legitimate Top 5 team right now, and look at what Duke did to them at a neutral site. Absolutely destroyed them. And speaking of irony, how are you going to hold up conference play as the be-all and end-all of a team's greatness, and then champion a team that didn't even win their conference tournament? The SEC Champions in 1996 were the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
-
Seahawks cover! Yes! I was scared to death that there was going to be PI called on that last play, but on the replay, it did look pretty clean.
-
Yeah, now I understand. That was fugly.
-
Brilliant decision by Gibbs going for it on 4th and 12 rather than kicking a 49 yard field goal that would make it a one possession game. Is the Redskins kicker really that bad?
-
I thought that they were basically turning Angle face. Mark Henry is playing the heel in the feud right? Why would they mute the crowd reaction if Angle's going to be playing a face or a face-leaning tweener for the next month anyway?
-
Isn't the whole point behind being a smark that you don't need WWE.com to get this kind of information? How many of you tuned in to watch the battle royal because you saw the announcement on WWE.com, and didn't see it on any other website?
-
Siragusa: The difference I see is that the Redskins are actually getting penetration now, and they're getting real pressure on Matt Hasselbeck. (Next play: Hasselbeck sits in the pocket for about 8 seconds before deciding to just walk in for the touchdown.) Nice call there Tony.
