Is it just me, or does Angel seem to be making a slow change from the dark angst the series was known for into more comical, colorful, Buffy-type adventures? Not complaining, as that spoiler preview seems like it'll be funny as hell, just an observation. The Spike Ghost Thing: there is NO good way to explain it, period. Dozens or hundreds of movies, TV shows, books, video games, etc. have portrayed ghosts as being completely unable to touch anything physically, walking through walls and all that, but they still seem able to stand or sit on anything they like. It's a fuckup that's commonly used for storytelling purposes. Just accept it. And oh yeah, saw OMWF for the first time myself, and jesus holy christ, that's maybe one of the best episodes of any TV show I've ever encountered. I was surprised by some of the cast's vocal abilities. Tara's sappy numbers got kinda old, and I wish Dawn would've sung more (and am thankful that Willow didn't), but Spike had a shockingly good voice, as did Anya; Giles did about as well as expected, and Buffy and Xander did better than I thought they would. Favorite highlight: Anya's freakout solo blaming little bunny rabbits for all the evil in the world. Question: are all the songs from this episode available on CD to buy? Interesting note: Dawn actually had her own number, which was cut for lenght (the show ran over) and it was only shown once, during it's original airing. And I think you cna get it on CD. I know that region 2 has OMWF on a stand-alone DVD.

I get very upset when people insult my mother. Is that a bit childish? Probably. Hell, I fight with her all of the time. But I don't stand around when somebody insults her to get to me. I realized that it was intended to be a joke. This is the first time I've seen Hero in a while, and dammed if it I didn't misty eyed when I saw the ending. Doyle in that commercial take talking how "When the chips are down, you can come to us, and see how there are still heroes in the world." And then he looks into the camera and says, "Am I done?". Some powerful stuff there. My sister was in tears after we re-watched that episode last week. I was of the misty eyed as well. Of course, Wesley filled the gap quite well, but still. I watched Hero, adn I nearly cried at the end. I never cry. I also just finished reading "Chosen", which was the novelization of the entire 7th season, adn I got some tears in my eye at the end of it. Incidently, I finally figured out what was throwing me 0ff- Spike in the opening credits. Maybe it's because he just started, but all of the scenes in there, it made me think back to "Superstar", when they put Jonathan in the opening credits. And was it just me, or was Spike extra-ferral when he vamped out?
