Well, I'm just saying that these characters were there on television for people to watch. I can see why no one's ever heard of Black Mask, since he wasn't featured on the animated series, and the Ventriloquist was only in 2 episodes, so yeah, I can see why no one's heard of them. The only thing I know of Black Mask is that he was the one who tortured Stephanie Brown, IE Robin IV. Isn't he supposed to have some backstory with Bruce?

To be fair, WB can't be that closed minded to more obscure villains. Most casual moviegoers hadn't even heard of the Scarecrow let alone Ra's al Ghul from what I understood. I had a passing knowledge of Scarecrow, but as a casual fan of Batman I had never even heard of Ra's al Ghul. But Nolan made the characters so compelling my lack of knowledge didn't matter. The same could be said if Nolan decideds to use lesser-known villians in the future. As for the Spider-Man 3 deal- I think the major problem was that Rami didn't like Venom at all and didn't want to use him, but the Studio wanted him in the movie. I doubt that Rami was crying any tears over how baddly Venom was handled, or that he was kileld off immediately. And the movei may have been a piece of shit, but it was a piee of shit that made a lot of money. That's what the studio ultimately cares about.

Good. Keep the Bale/Nolan Batman out of that would be disaster of a movie. Actually, if I remember it correctly- Bale said he didn't want to star as Batman in a non-Nolan movie, or something along those line. More absurdly was Brandon Routh flat out saying he wouldn't play Superman in a JL movie, despite having only one movie under his belt at the time- Superman Returns.

Well, they already pulled down the trailer from youtube. And I doubt we'd ever see the Nightcrawler movie unless they react Kurt- Alan Cummings has said, IIRC, he hated the make-up and wouldn't play the role again.

For those who are interested, the first REAL trailer for HBP is now available to view on AOL- and may I say, it looks AWESOME.

You know, I was thinking... if Nolan and Bale only do oen more of these movies (I think Nolan would stop after 3), I figured out the perfect way for the movie to end- with teh introduction of Dick Grayson. Thnk about it: at the final few minutes of the film, Bruce goes to the circus, the Flying Graysons die,and Bruce offers to take in Dick. The end.

Discussion: Possible DC Universe Movies
Anakin Flair replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in Television & Film
Well, Wonder Woman is supposed to be fairly well built- and tall. She's as tall (if not taller) than Superman. But that might have been a Darwin thing from New Frontier. -
That was terrible. I also didn't like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory or Sweeny Todd. I've not seen Ed Wood, I'll have to check it out and see if it's the good apple of the shitty Burton bunch. Sleepy Hollow was garbage too. I've never seen Sweeney Todd though. I loved Sleepy Hollow. I actually own Sweeny Todd, but haven't seen it yet. I saw it at the St. Louis Rep way back in my High School days, and remember it being good, but creepy.

I wouldn't want Bana anywhere near a comic book movie again- I'd just associate him with Hulk. I didn't have any particular problem with the movie, but it would be weird seeing a guy who played the Hulk suddenly playing GL. I know people would hate this, but how about Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman? I know, I know- Xena playing an Amazon, how original. But ever since she did the voice for WW in the New Fronteir movie, I really could see her playing Diana. -

I have never heard of that comic... but that cover alone is enough for me to download it. Hope to have it up in a few hours.

Jesus, I forgot Burton did Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I don't remember it being gothic, but it certainly was dark, from what I remember. But the last time I saw it was several years ago.

Eh, emo-crap was a bad choice of words. And I have no problems with his movies- but they all seem the same. Though I do admit that I have never seen Ed Wood.

For your reading pleasure, Watchmen is now up in the Comic Request thread. And having started to read it again, the art's not as bad as I remember.

I don't think that Burton is a shitty directory, I just think that he's a one-trick pony. Even George Lucas tried something different with American Graffiti, but Burton's movies are always the same gothic emo-crap. But looking back, now that I am a fan of the comics and do know how Bruce Wayne is supposed to be, I do agree that Burton got incredibly lucky with the first Batman, but that the characterizations were all wrong.

Naw. Judge Dredd is in the 'so bad it's mildly enjoyable' category, especially if you've never read the comics and have nothing to hold hte movie to.

Discussion: Possible DC Universe Movies

Yes, but ANY movie shouldn't flop worldwide, since there are many markets to add to the total. But the movie didn't make back its budget ( no telling what the marketing costs were) in any market. In the US, it made $200 million, which didn't make back the budget, and overseas it made $191 million, less than the US gross. What I'm trying to say is, that neither market had that much interest in the movie. See in total worldwide gross, Batman and Robin was sucessful, but its considered a flop since it didn't make back the budget in either market. I thought Batman and Robin was considered a flop because it sucked. -
Yeah, I know. I'm just kind of shocked that Warner didn't put it back out there for the very same reason.
-
What's the hate for Batman Returns? It was always one of my favorite Batman movies.

Anybody know where I can get the Batman: The Complete Anthology boxed set that came out a few years ago for cheap? Everywhere I look, it either isn't carried anymore, or people are charging nearly double what it is worth.
