For those who think that Penguin couldn't work: THAT's the Penguin that could work.

Probably more like four years. Nolan likes to do projects in between. But my fear is that, much like X3, Warner Bros will see how much money this movie made and rush a third installment into production. Nolan probably wouldn't do it then, so he'd be out- as would Bale. IF Warner can just take their time and live witha 3-4 year gap, and Nolan and Bale comes back, and the scripts is as good as this was- The third installment could do very well critically and financially. Just not as good as the Dark Knight.

I doubt 14 year old girls will see this one 9 times in the theater It wasn't just girls. I remember after I saw it (for the second time:) that two guys, about 16 or 17, walking past me bragging that they'd seen it 9 times. Looking back- it was a good movie, but why did people pay so much money to see it so many times in theaters?

Quetion Bob- do they adjust the numbers after Sunday to give a completely accurate count, or do they just run with these numbers?
-
True, but in that case the movie was based off of a book, and they changed a lot of things. In this case, the book is based off of Nolan's screenplay, so it's pretty much spot on.

Again, it was confirmed in the book that he died. But I am confused about one thing- Gordon said that Harvey had killed five people, including cops- asid from the one old cop, Maroni and the driver, who else did he kill?

And that isn't even counting Sunday.

In the comics, Riddler has gone legit and is now working as a Private Eye. He's also a bit of a media hound, and like to let others do his work and take the credit. Just saw the movie, and loved it. Took a few hours to process it and get my thoughts together, but upon reflection I still loved LEdger's Joker (my favorite scene of his, hands down, is the entire hospital bit). Bale was great again as Batman, and Oldman was perfect as Gordon. But my favorite part of the movie was Eckhart's Harvey Dent. He was just great- I just wish he'd had more face time as Two Face. Yes, I made the joke. Sorry. Won't say it's the best movie ever, or even the best superhero movie (Iron Man still holds that spot in my heart), but it was probably one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time.

Actually, I could see them using the most current incarnation of The Riddler- the legit, mdeia hound private eye as a foil to Batman, while they use someone else as a villian.
-
I was shocked at first tht Battlestar Galactica didn't get any nominations- then I remembered it's been off for like a year.
-
I read that the Two Face makeup was the one thing that Nolan wanted overdone, actually.
-
Does that take into account any inflation since 2005?
-
That's not true. Ninja Turtles 2 was soooo much better.

Batman Forever had moments of brilliance- I liked the opening scene with Two-Face, I loved Carrey's Riddler, and the scene between Bruce and Chase was well done (as was the fight right after). But at the same time, Schumacker made his presence known with all of the neon and the blue back-lights on the batmobile; and the black lights. Also they really mis-cast Dick; he should have been played bya much younger actor. Batman and Robin- well, I could go on for days how they fucked that up. Bane as a dim-witted henchman, the Batman credit card, Arnold.... Also, does anybody else think that the guy they got to play Gordon in the original four movies was just totaly wrong for the character? Oldman LOOKS like the Gordon of the comics; that guy didn't even come close.

It's Bob Kane actually. And it was actually him and Bill Finger if I'm not mistaken (nor wikipedia), though Finger never gets credit in moves/adaptations. I wonder why that it? Because Kane was smart enough to secure the rights to his characters out of the gate, as opposed to Siegle and Shuster, who spent years trying to get royalties becuase they sold Superman away for about a hundred bucks. I'm betting Finger didn't even think about it. There's actually a pretty cool documentary about Kane on the Gotham Knights 2 disc dvd that goes in depth on his life.

Both good reasons. I'd actually forgot about the Catwoman movie, as I never really considered it to be the real Catwoman anyway.
-
No, it isn't. Making two part of one movies is freaking LAME! That's like Kill Bill all over again! Except that this time, they are going to be able to include most, if not all, of what was in the book. Though on the flip side, there are a few things in DH that I don't know how they would include in the movie, if only because they didn't bother to include them in the other movies- like Dobby, and possibly Bill and Fleur.
-
Why wouldn't they want to do Catwoman? I'd think she be a perfect villian for the Nolan-verse.
-
For those who are interested, I just picked up the Hellboy- the Director's Cut 3 disk set at Walmart for nine bucks. Which is a hell of a deal, considering the first time I bought it it was something like $35 (had to sell it off years ago).

awesome.
