They just...don't...get it.

Christ guys, that match was not any good at all. They do absolutely nothing for 40 minutes with no build, no teases, no hints for the final section or anything, and it is just formula your move my move FINISHER crap. RVD, Booker T, Mark Henry, The Dudleys, Steiner, they all do nothing and are treated like nothing. Jericho and Christian aren't treated much better. None of them do anything interesting or special. For a match of EPIC PROPORTIONS~, nobody shows any intensity or desperation (except HBK in the very final minutes). Then it is down to 3 on 1 and while it is fine for what it is, there is nothing special at all about the final segment. HBK does his usual stuff which is sloppy as hell and then a run in for the finish. There was no strategy or anything displayed by anyone until the heels did the weak and short 3 on 1 segment at the end until HBK jesused up. Pedestrian stuff that they could have improved drastically by doing a better opening stretch or even thinking about structuring the match better by giving the nothing guys something to do other than "I'm going to hit my move, but you'll punch me so I'm on the defence now".

Damn, I was hoping for Danielson vs Super Dragon. Oh well, because now we get Danielson vs Hero. I loved their IWA:MS match and hopefully they can build off of that for this and make it even better. Who does everyone think shalt be the surprise tag team? I'm thinking Zokre and Phoenix Star. That would be neat.

One of those "coach goes to down-on-their-luck inner city school with a bad basketball team, teaches them to unify and get better, but in the end he learns about himself by learning about them" deals.

At the end of the PPV, all I said was this: "fuckin HHH". Jesus. That was the absolute saddest thing I have ever seen. I'd say "I can't believe they were dumb enough to give HHH the title back", but obviously they are. I'm not even that mad. Just apathetic. I've even lost the will to hate HHH by his squashing of every remotely entertaining thing in the WWE.

Well, I know HBK hasn't, so it's kind of a moot point. I'd say Eddie and Art Barr's run as Los Gringos Locos completely trumps anything HBK has done for being memorable. Eddy vs Lesnar from No Way Out 2004 also has an incredible crowd reaction, far moreso than the HIAC match you mentioned. Eddy vs Lesnar, NWO 04, again is far better than both of those. I'm sure many of Eddy's great TV matches are also just as good/better than those, and I can find some examples if you really want them. Not when the ENTIRE STORY OF THE MATCH is that his back has been destroyed. It's not the kip up people have problems with - it's when it runs against the work they are doing that the problems arise.

Well Jingus, there is the fact that Rock can work a coherent match with actual selling involved. Rock's best matches (WMX7 vs Austin, lots of the Rock vs HHH series) are also worlds better than anything HBK or Angle has done.

God bless my friend's illegal satellite and free PPV. Of course, HHH is winning. That's gonna suck. But since I have nothing else to do and it is free, I shalt maketh with the watching.

Jesus christ in heaven, what an episode. I can't believe how much I missed quality NEW episodes of ANYTHING during Christmas break. The TOP 10~! 1. Sawyer climbs to the top of the tree and tosses the briefcase off...for nothing. And his reaction was great, too. 2. "He's trying to pick a Halliburton." "BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" 3. The entire swimming scene. Beautiful, serene, perfectly scored, and then BAM! Corpses. 4. Jack feels the pain of having to dig up the body of the man he killed. His expressions for the rest of the episode were fabulous. 5. Locke in his ONLY scene of the night. "So which one is it?" I love/hate/admire/hate/love that guy. 6. SHANNON~! BRINGS THE DA-YA-MUH~! 7. Something about that last scene being in the dark...really weird. The rest of the episode was in light/relative light. And then DARK. Neat, but weird. I'm sure they did it on purpose. 8. Kate TAKES THE BACKHAND LIKE A MAN. Shit. That shit was whack. 9. Sayid and Shannon share a moment, and Boone looks on. Boone looked PISSED. 10. Sawyer and Jack: ANOTHER staredown. Fuck. I NEED a round two of Jack vs Sawyer. BONUS 11. Next week's preview. I think I speak for all when I say: "HOLY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!"

I think it is all in how they portray it. Benoit losing clean should not be a problem. Anybody losing clean should not be a problem. But if they portray it as if Benoit got completely outclassed and is terrible and as a forgotten member of the main event (that last part, they always have) that is where the problem arises. If they portray it as "Batista is improving, he learned from previous encounters with Benoit, he is resourceful, etc." then there shouldn't be a problem. But they likely won't do that.

Triple H Shelton Benjamin William Regal & Eugene Lita Kane Muhammed Hassan Looks super shit-tastic.

That was easily Batista's best match ever. That isn't saying much, but it is something. That submission was absolutely swank. Batista staying down after one german suplex was perfect because it shouldn't take 90 to put someone down, and the headbutt was a great nearfall. Batista fighting out of the crossface did not kill the move. They established early on that Benoit was faster than Batista but Batista was a monster, so Batista fighting out made sense especially when Benoit hadn't wrenched the move in. Batista struggled to fight out of it and the rams into the post was really neat. Best match on Raw in a long, long while. Rest of the show was shitty crap (yes, both), but Batista/Benoit was world's better than I expected.

Whatever fans requested any of those deserve the death penalty. There is NOTHING good there. EDIT: Except Benoit/Angle. But one for however many there is? Damn. That's still bad.
