I really don't get the recent Orton love or the over the top Shelton love (he's good...not great or phenomenal). I can't see any match between the two (in the near future) being all that good.

I thought this and WM pretty much were his only matches since NWO 2000, but I don't follow up on Japan. Am I wrong? He wrestled Toshiaka Kawada earlier this month on HUSTLE-3. Info in the Puro folder

In regards to the Foley's best match since NWO 2000 comment, I think Foley/Kawada has potential to be better than this but I'll wait until I get the tape in to say As for this match, I feel calling it ****+ is a terrible statement. I'd say it is ***, as it is certainly a good match. However, Orton bumping for 20 minutes does not a classic make (although his selling is fantastic-I love how when Foley hits him with the cookie sheet (?) he just bends backwards and collapses). I can't find a substainable story other than "they hate each other", which is a good story but they do a pretty bad job of portraying it. Also, Orton is the one taking all the bumps, as aside from a couple of weak drops on the barbed wire board, Foley is on offense all match long until the very end. As a spectacle, it is good. As a match, it is good. Not great in either aspect, though. ***

Let me just say he's a *great* wrestler. But for me personally he doesn't have what it takes to be the companies top guy. He has no charisma, can't cut a promo without being *serious*. To be given the ball, you need to be the complete package to build a company around. Unless he's in a great match, he puts people to sleep. Is he meant to be a face? because for his entrances garner a poor reaction from the crowd for a world champion. And the from watching raw, the crowd isn't into benoit and from what i've seen i can't really blame them. First off, this is your best post yet. Reasons > * Second off, I don't agree. Every time I have seen Benoit come to the ring, be it promo or match, he gets a good response. Is it the best response ever? I'll concede it isn't. But it is far better than I think you are giving it credit for.

Well, you're wrong. Look at ratings back in December. Without Benoit on Raw. Terrible ratings. Ever since Benoit won the belt, ratings have been steadily increasing. He also recieves tremendous live reactions. He did a great job (in the limited time he had + announcers ignoring him) building to the WMXX and Backlash matches against HHH and HBK. Look at his interview on Raw on 4/19. Tremendous work. And don't even bother responding. You said yourself you don't watch. Don't comment on it if you don't watch it. How would you know Benoit was "boring" on Raw, say, this week? You didn't even watch.

I downloaded Eddy/Bradshaw, out of curiousity to see if it was as good as you guys said. Definitely an...interesting match. Eddy bleeding is quite the sight. Not quite as good as previously stated in the thread, but still some neat stuff. The mindless brawling at points really bored me. **1/4
