I was thinking the EXACT same thing during the show, comparing it straight to Ric Flair's title victory in '92. Heenan & Monsoon made Flair out to look as though he was the greatest athlete in the history of history, whereas JR spent the early days jacking off over Matt Morgan and later was all about Big Show (which, I admit, worked in Benoit's favour, yes, but hell, would it of killed him to acknowledge that Benoit was KING in that match?) Also, did anyone else notice that Orton DIDNT actually suck tonight? No, really, he wasn't all that bad. I pains me as much as anyone to say that, but I was really digging his shit tonight. UYI I 100% agree, even about the Orton thing. Very much like Flair/Bulldog in 92, I noticed, the parallels especially with Orton being eliminated halfway through.

One thing I hated about the Rumble was the terrible announcing. JR and Tazz barely put over Benoit's marathon run until the end. Compare that to Monsoon and Heenan (who I don't even like on commentary usually) in 92 and how much more effective it was for Flair.
